I went to Axil on a weekend morning. I was particularly impressed with the order and organisation. I ordered a Bircher muesli. It was a bit sweet for me personally but otherwise enjoyable. Overall a good experience š.
Good Quality blend and milk was perfect temp. Wait was a bit long as they are always quite busy. Good that they have a little takeaway coffee side. Worth the wait for a decent coffee
I really enjoy the coffees here. Ordered my usual latte with one sugar, it had a smooth and mild yet distinct coffee flavour. Canāt really say the same for the food as Iāve eaten here a few times and never quite felt satisfied. Just recently had the Eggs Bennie, I found the compressed pork not very pleasant as it was dry and crumbly (I think thatās just how it is). The dish was also quite small. (sorry no photo this time!)
Lots of people have recommended this place to us & when my sister & I were visiting chaddy we thought why not. When we got there there was a line which moved quite quickly & was a good sign that the food was good.
The staff there were phenomenal! They were so friendly & the knew everything on the menu when we were sure about things.
My sister got the coconut & pistachio Bircher muesli & I got the chicken schnitzel burger but with the jalapeƱo relish on the side as I wasnāt too sure if I could take it haha.
The food came out really fast & tasted so good! The chicken burger was super fresh & tasted delicious. The jalapeƱo relish wasnāt too spicy which was good for me so I devoured that as well. The potato salad on the side was creamy & delicious as well.
My sister liked the Bircher muesli but wasnāt a fan of all the fancy stuff on top. However I loved all the fancy stuff on top & got to eat it š
Amazing coffee.
Big fan of their cold brew. No where in Chadstone comes close to the quality of their coffees.
Decently priced and quick prompt service.
Donāt come here for the food though.
Axil is definitely known for their coffee and I know why as it taste really nice and strong. The only thing is I find their prices a bit pricey, as their large is $5 and its not even that big, it's more like a medium size. It also gets incredibly busy especially if you are ordering a takeaway so I would try to avoid the peak times.

Coffee verdict: coffee at axil in chadstone is a bit on the high side, but at least you know you pay for quality. They make the best coffee that weāve had in a shopping mall - delicious flavour and sufficiently strong. Also keeps my partner happy so that I can shop for another couple of hours š¤£
Since Axil has one of the best reputations for fantastic coffee in Melbourne, it's a no brainer that the Chadstone location would be extremely popular. It's certainly my favourite place for a takeaway coffee when I'm shopping here; and if I'm lucky, I will manage to get a table!
With it's fantastic location, and modern fit out, Axil is very convenient when you are in need of a caffeine fix. They do have an interesting food menu, but I usually just have one of their fantastic pastries. The cruffins and nutella croissants are particularly good. Service is really quick even though it's always busy, and I have found staff to be quite pleasant. Living up to the Axil name, this location is definitely another winner.
Chai latte and soya mocha lovely
Grabbed a coffee from here. The service was quick and efficient.
My strong skinny latte was really good, I liked the earthy coffee flavour, there was some good milk froth and it hit the mark first thing in the morning.
And thanks to the staff who didnāt ask me if I wanted a large coffee.
For me the coffee was a bit watery but other than that it was a great experience.
No doubt they serve good coffees! It usually doesnāt take long to get a table. Food was good. And they are definitely better than most of the other cafes in the centre. I prefer their hawthorn branch.. maybe it is the atmosphere but I tend to find their food is better there tooš
Itās better the second time round š„
Food: 9/10 (Chicken & Waffle, Chocolate Pancakes, Potato Croquettes with Grapefruit & Gin Cured Salmon)
Drinks: 6/10 (Macchiato, Cappuccino, Earl Grey, Hot Chocolate āļø)
Service: 8.5/10 (Less than 10-minute wait on a busy Friday morning around 11am)
Ambience: 8/10
Pricing: $$
Came here a couple weeks back and we ordered two other dishes (Pretzel Benedict with Pulled Pork, Pistachio & Cranberry Bircher with Rhubarb) both of which were mediocre at best. However, I decided to give Axil another try, and Iām happy that this roundās dishes made me glad that I did!
The Waffle and Croquettes were nicely prepared/fried, salmon was fresh according to my mom, and my dad appreciated the crustiness of the fried chicken. The one that stood out the most however was the Chocolate Pancakes; upon being served on our table it gave off that strong chocolatey fragrance š« the light ice cream on top complemented the thickness of the chocolate nicely and we liked that a lot!
Only complaint we have is that the hot chocolate was not hot enough, and especially in this winter weather it was quite a bummer to my dad.
In all we had a pleasant brunch, so thanks Axil!
Always consistently great coffee and brunch and lunch menu. This place is always busy being so centrally located but service is prompted and attentive. Always a guaranteed go to place for a caffeine hit or takeaway when the need arises cos it always delivers.
This place is Axil-lent! gives a great brunch destination in Chadstone. Sometimes the wait maybe long but it is well worth it.The Lamb Burger was pretty good.
Love this place, busy because itās the best, Awesome coffee... great to see in Chadstone shopping centre, time to rest our feet after a day of shopping and enjoy the moment with great coffee. We had iced coffees this time... yum
A very busy cafe inside Chadstone shopping centre. We had to wait for a table, however it wasn't too long (approx 15mins). Cute set up.
I had the sweet potato and halloumi fritters which were topped with spinach, avocado and a poached egg - YUM! Super filling and all was delicious. Service was friendly and quick.
There are lines to wait for designer shops in Chadstone... but Iāll take waiting for a seat at Axil over those lines ANYDAY!
FOOD & DRINKS: We ordered the Buttermilk Pancakes and the Pretzel Benedict and both dishes were absolutely amazing! We wanted to try both sweet and savoury and both dishes are absolute brunch dreamzzz! The Buttermilk Pancakes were basically if an oreo and pancakes were to come together and make a baby which is basically one of my dreams come TRUE! The buttermilk pancakes were so fluffy and soft while maintaining the amazing buttermilk flavour! There were sometimes where I could taste a sort of baking soda flavour but it could be masked with the toppings. The chocolate sorbet was so unique because one off thing I didnāt like with some other pancakes with ice cream was that the ice cream was way too rich but the deep flavour of chocolate instead of pure sugar balanced with the white chocolate cream cheese ganache! The entire dish was an absolute perfect dish for my sweet tooth and I have to admit, itās probably one of the best pancake dishes Iāve EVER had! The pretzel benedict was so unique and for anyone whoās bored of plain eggs on toast, this is for you! I love pretzels and though the pretzel was slightly hard at times, I think itās meant to not be soggi-fied by the runny eggs and the pork was marinated to perfection and tbh, I absolutely loved the SLAW! The soy milk coffee was no joke and theyāre coffee roasters for a reason!!
SERVICE: Service was decent but wasnāt the best tbh but I guess I canāt blame them because of how busy it is
Axil is one of the best brunch places Iāve ever visited in Melbourne so far with amazing food, unique offerings, phenomenal coffee, thereās nothing I can complain!
Be sure to get here early because Axil Coffee Roasters is that popular and theres always a line. You canāt go wrong here because there brunch menu is superb šš»
Stopped by for coffee - it was a great spot to get out of the hustle and bustle in Chadstone! The service was great and the coffees came out quickly.
My Key Three Pointers
* Best coffee I have had at Chadstone
* Super cute layout
* I rather wait for coffee than line up to get in a designer store
If your hoping to hide from the crowds then this may not be your place as it is a full house. The wait for coffee was about 15mins on a Saturday morning but definitely worth it. A good coffee can definitely put you in a great mood to tackle Chadstone and I highly recommend you get your brew from this place.
Their foods were interesting. Tangy Benedict and flavourful Baked Beans.
The staff were okay. The service was quick on a weekend morning.
Would love to come back for more!
If you're around Chadstone, should definitely come visit this cafe. The place opens before the retail stores are open, so you can fill your hunger before going on a shopping spree! The food is not the best I've tried but it's definitely decent! My favourite is 'the lot' :)
Pretty nice food, my mum like the pumpkin salad so much. However the table was so small... and could not have enough place to put the plates on the table....
Lovely place. They do a wonderful smashed avocado! I really recommend everyone try it if theyāre a smashed avo fan. Some places just canāt do it right. I think Iāll go as far as to say that theyāre probably the best in Melb!

I love the coffee from Axil, so good!
The dƩcor and vibe of the place is really cool too. In my experience the service has just been 'okay'.
Would go back for coffee again for sure!
Always the best coffee for me in Chadstone.
This time I went for breakfast, staff is so nice to get me a reserved table because of Iām taking the pram with a baby sleeping.
I finished the meal even itās too much. (I should find someone to share with next time)
Very fresh and delicious!!! Love it:)
Similar to its Hawthorn counterpart, Chadstone Axil served delicious brunch meals. We ordered red velvet pancakes and slow braised lamb roti wrap. The pancakes were fluffy, tart and sweet a la red velvet, and the black sesame ice cream balanced out the sweetness. The slow braised lamb was tender, and the tabouli and baba ganoush were well-spiced and tasty. Coffee was great, and so was service. Axil was a great lunch option at Chadstone.
Axil has a variety of options for breakfast. I had the pumpkin fritters. It was delicious! Coffee and salted lemon tart were great too and very good service!
If u go to Chadstone shopping Centre stop there and have something to eat! U wont regret it!
Let me just say, I always walk past this place. Itās always busy and Iāve been meaning to try this place out since the new section was put in.
Itās extremely busy in the morning and a que forms. We only waited 2 mins and were ushered in immediately.
The decor and ambience is a lovely sentiment and is lively and bright.
The service was impeccable, even though they were busy at times but our food came very quickly.
I had a cappuccino and it was light, smooth and not overpowering in coffee taste or smell. A nice change from the other cappuccinos Iāve had.
The mac and cheese croquettes are filling, big and non greasy. A perfect side to share. I had the haloumi and quinoa fritters with toasted chips.
It was devine and delicious. Overall I must say, this place is a gem and we shall be back more often. I miss the Mezz and this is the replacement from now on.
Iāve always been a fan of Axil Coffee and I love that I can now get my coffee fix in addition to a feed at Chadstone Shopping Centre.
Stopping by on a Saturday morning we were fortunate to be seated straight away without having to wait. We ordered the bagel benedict and the pumpkin, quinoa & halloumi fritters along with coffee to drink.
I love the use of texture in both dishes. The Benedict came with pork crackling whilst the fritters were topped with sweet potato crisps. Out of the two dishes we preferred the fritters, the components of the dish worked really well together and the creaminess of the avocado balanced out the hit of spice from the chilli jam. The Benedict was also packed with flavour with the ham hock and apple cider hollandaise although I personally prefer a benedict with sourdough rather than a bagel.
Overall the food at Axil was filling and satisfying and the coffee is top notch. I give them 4 āļø out of 5 and recommend you check them out next time youāre shopping at Chadstone.
Great service and absolutely Delish brunch menu ! We loved the haloumi chickpeas corn fritters with sweet potato crisps, and beautiful sauce! Even bubba enjoyed it:) hubby had the chad which was equally yummy!
I had the matcha waffles was great as well as the coffee cant wait to go back and get the red velvet pancakes my fav place in chadstone willing to drive the 1hr just t get the coffee
Had the cornbread waffle with beef brisket and poached eggs. Nice food and nice coffee, definitely recommend the cold brew. Service is a bit brisk but very efficient despite the full house + queue outside, our food and drinks both arrived in good time.
Service is not the most attentive, have to try getting attention from the wait staffs a couple of times but I guess itās because theyāre a busy outlet, enjoyed dishes that we ordered
Lovely staff and nice environment
The coffee was well made and tasty
Had the Jalapenos poppers which were fantastic and different
Would recommend if u are in the area
Been to this place few times, coffees were great, love their iced latte. Friendly staff, speedy service, canāt ask for more. A must visit place for me every time I went Chadstone.
Tasty brunch spot at chadstone shopping centre. I managed to get a table immediately which was great. The service was efficient and friendly and the food came lightning fast. I ordered the cauliflower and chickpea fritters which came with poached eggs, toasted eggplant, charred capsicum, spiced almonds, labna and watercress salad. I also added a side of chorizo. So happy with my meal- such a delicious dish! Canāt wait to go back to try the cheddar waffles with pulled pork.
Foods is always great - only downside is when I asked for an extra plate and it burnt my hand when they gave it to me. However, they wrote up an incidence report and were extremely apologetic about the entire situation. I would definitely recommend the chilli and cheese waffles, vanilla waffles, the Chad and the gnocchi. Will be back :)
Good service with energetic staff, high quality food that's reasonable speed and price, with convenience of in a shopping centre - that was a kicker for me and was impressed.
Unfortunately I asked for soy latte, got milk despite asking twice if it's milk as it tasted "unusual". Resulted in the lactose intolerant me cramping for 24 hours and unable to sleep for the night. I know it was probably an honest mistake in a busy place, but please take care.
Friendly staff & amazing food! The beetroot smoked salmon is so yummy! š I definitely have to go back! And of course the coffee is delicious!!
I have been to Axil in Hawthorn so many times I canāt even remember how many times and itās the best of the best! First visit to the chadstone store and was not disappointed, great food and coffee. The chili cheese waffles with pulled pork was excellent
A surprisingly good place for brunch in Chadstone shopping mall as I never ever consider having good food in a shopping mall. I ordered gnocchi with stewed beef cheek and mushroom. Taste good but a little bland to me. I had to add more salt and pepper to my dish.
fabulous takeaway coffee consistently - if you don't like it they will redo if they are at fault - really take their coffee seriously. Have bought beans there too and lovely tasty range. Pastries look delicious -never tried
Iāve been here for a lot of times and extremely in love with their mashed avocado on pumpkin toast. Itās big love (even recommended to my customers in Michael Hill)! Tried one of their brunch with pork belly (I canāt remember the name but itās the pic I posted) and it was decent, the pork skin was crispy but gets sticky on my teeth, however, the taste was good.
Once I ordered coffee and didnāt even realise it wasnāt at my table yet after some time probably near 10 minutes (didnāt even know it was already 10 mins as I was focusing on my work), and the waitress came to apologise, and said the coffee would be free. She insisted even though I said it was all good! This customer service impressed me so much and lastly, their coffee is AMAZING!
I just came here the other day for a quick coffee with a friend. The cafƩ is very open and located on a corner of shops. My lattƩ was hot, strong and just the way I like it. The waitress was very nice as well.
Every time I walk past Axil in chadstone, there always seems to be a massive queue. Today, I thought Iād join the queue and wait for a table, and it definitely was worth the wait! The coffee was great! I had the smashed avocado with Meredith cheese for breakfast , it was delicious! Great service too, my food and coffee came out in 10 minutes
Sometimes you just want to avoid the hustle and bustle of an overcrowded food court and find a nice cafe to sit down and enjoy a good coffee and a decent meal. There are only a handful of nice cafes in Chaddy and I consider this one part of that selection. However it's very popular so getting a table might take a while.
I chose the spicy buttermilk chicken burger and my friend ordered the grilled saganaki salad. There wasn't any spiciness to the chicken and I discovered that my preference for blue cheese is only with crackers. It was ok but I might stick to traditional brunch dishes here.
I was really surprised that a brunch establishment inside a shopping center would be this nice. Definitely a nice change from always eating food court food when I am shopping thereĀ . The wait times however are quite long

š±Lizzie's first impression: I thought the wait would be ridiculous given that it is inside the shopping centre but the wait was better than expected.
š©Lizzie enjoyed: the red velvet pancakes are a winner and no wonder they have another store now.
š
Lizzie did not enjoy: the eggs benedict was abit mediocre and didnt have much flavour.
šLizzie rates overall: a great place for brunch inside the shopping centre but probably not worth if the wait is too long.
Food always 10/10, so yummy!
Coffee consistently fantastic.
Recently visited for the third time and had the roti wrap with lamb upon recommendation from staff - - so good!
Love coming here.
Stopped here on boxing day and was pretty packed out however got a table reasonably quickly considering! Food was great n coffee went down well too. A nice place to stop for a breather amongst the busy Chadstone shopping vibe!
Had a breakfast meeting here this morning. The coffee is pretty excellent and the food was great. I chose the baked eggs with chorizo. Not a cheap place, but very nice.
One of my favourite places for brunch and it has the best coffees in Chadstone. Thereās always something new on the menu each time I visit, menuās always changing, the foods are never disappointing and itās definitely worth to try. The services are great, staffs always friendly and helpful. A big thumbs up!
Came here for lunch with my wife. Highly recommend the beef brioche and Cuban sandwich; perhaps they tasted even better because we were hungry. Coffees were pretty standard.
Itās a great alternative to the food court downstairs where the bustle can be too overwhelming. This place is v comfortable to relax.
Best shopping centre cafe ever! Food was magnificent and service was excellent. Had the Croque Madame special, which was perfectly balanced, best one Iāve eaten. Will be back :)
Update: 24 Nov 2018:
Came here for Saturday lunch. Ordered fried chicken burger and a salmon dish. Both meals were good and delicious. Burger came with fries and the portion was large. But the salmon is on the small side.
Previously:
Ate here for lunch for the first time. Ordered to coffees - single origin and chai latte. Both good but nothing special. Anyone can get good coffee in Melbourne.
For lunch ordered the beef burger and the egg with thick bacon and chirizo.
The beef burger is delicious. It comes with brioche bun, abundance slices of charred beef, chard, lettuce and spicy anerican BBQ sauce. The dish also comes with crispy fried onions and cheesy dipping sauce.
The egg and meat dish came with sourdough bread, two poach eggs, chirizo sausages, thick bacon and portobello mushroom.
All lunch dishes are delicious.
The price for the lunch dishes are on the higher side averaging around $20 per dish.
Will come back to try other dishes.
A surprising find within Chadstone Mall. The coffee was above average in taste with a average cost ($ 4 flat white). In addition, the food was superb! I tried the short rib and red velvet pancakes and would strongly recommend them.
Best coffee in Chadstone shopping centre - which explains the queues. Having said that the queues were long - they were also fast moving.
Have been there heaps and the service is always consistently good, however the guy who served us on Saturday 16/12/17 was a stand out. He was cheerful and engaged with every person he served. The perfect person to have on front of house. Doughnuts and cruffins are also pretty fab.
Great soy iced mocha, really good and fast service as they can see I have two impatient kids w me. I would love to visit next time to try some food!
For some reason, I wasn't really expecting much from Axil's brunch fare but I was glad to have my expectations exceeded! I ordered the gnocchi with greens, chicken and a garlic butter sauce. It looked a little boring, but it was really good - even strangely addictive! The Rosti was excellent too!
Another worthy addition to the chain of Axil cafes, itās not often I look at a menu and like the sound of literally everything on it, but this was one of those occasions. Eventually decided to get the gingerbread and potato rosti dishes and they were both bloody delicious without blowing my socks off. The coffee is always top notch, and the service was fantastic considering how busy it was. Will be back to try out more of the menu!
I had the gnocchi and it was very light and the beef checks that came with it was soft and tender. But it become very heavy and needed some acidity. Overall the place is quite good and you need to wait for a table
Thank you! FINALLY a decent brunch place at Chadstone! From the outside the cafe appears a little exposed, but when seated it feels nice and private :) We ordered the:
(1) Sweet Potato, parsnip & quinoa fritters (w/ poached eggs, saganaki, spinach, chilli jam and zaatar) - refined and delicious!Ā
(2) The Chad (pretty much a big breakfast w/ tomato relish) - A bit average to me, but my partner was happy :)
The real standouts however were the gluten free toast (as gluten free toast goes) and the milkshakes!! Although they are pricey at $9... Overall, a lovely cafe that Chadstone desperately needed! Give it a go!
Axil is has one of the best coffees in my opinion! However... this branch may need a little more improvement. I came a few months back when the new section of Chadstone opened and food took approximately 40 minutes to be served. I returned today and it's definitely improved.
Lives up to its name (although the Hawthorn one is still the best), the service was a bit slow but chadstone is a huge shopping centre so maybe a few more staff would be nice! The lamb salad was delicious and generous in size! My mum had the sweet potato Rosti w poached eggs and Parmesan waffle which she loved!
Must: The coffee (duh!). Try the Cuban. Have the potato rosti too. Food was delicious with generous portions.
Skip: Expect to wait a bit for the food.
Tried potato salad with extra chicken and it was one of the best food I have ever had ā¤ļø
There was a unique flavour in each bite literally! Service was extraordinary and they were keeping regular checks on, if everything was alright š¤
The tables are usually occupied most of the time and a long queue for take away as well. So, reach early as you don't wanna miss out this place!
Weekend brunch and coffee was a good experience at Axil Chadstone. There was a short wait for our table of two (< 10 minutes though) as was to be expected on a weekend at Chadstone. The servers were good, professional and knowledgeable of the menu. We ordered the two beef brisket items on the menu and they were both delicious. Good service and good food. Well done Axil Coffee Roasters Chadstone.
Best coffee, nice ambience and good customer service. Food is great and generous, really enjoyed the steak sandwich. Hope they refresh their menu a bit.
Great coffee, food and service. If theyāre busy which they often are, leave your phone number and theyāll text you when a table is free. Regularly visitors as my partner loves the baked eggs!
This Cafe is always busy so I thought ill give it a try. Staff are attentive, great vibe and delicious food. Was not disappointed and will be back again.
Of course I was in desperate need of coffee beans yet again, Axil seemed the best bet for the options in Chadstone. They roast their own beans and the shop is constantly buzzing with people. The young lad who gave me a run down of the difference in bean options was fantastic, really appreciated that level of service.
We'll see how the beans go, but I doubt I'll be let down.
