Review Burger Project - Chadstone

Anton Cuschieri
Delicious burgers at a reasonable prices, definitely recommend the “American” burger it had a great sauce. The beef also taste more of a premium quality. Good place to take the family for burgers.

Well, the burgers were juicy and tasty. Fries were crispy.. Obviously better than the stuff you get at mcd or hungry jacks. Surprisingly, there was limited choice of drinks to chose from the kids meal. Only iced tea or something and a bunch of soda based drinks.. Even mcdonalds have healthier drink choices for kids.. But overall.. It was nice and cozy..

Great service! Friendly and energetic staff! Burger was lit 🔥😋 the thick shake was pretty thick unlike other spots. Overall a great meal! Only needed the one serving of chips for two as they portion was big 🙂🔥🔥🔥

The place to come to for your burger fix in Chadstone. Good tasting burgers (beef patty is really good) and service is decent. I love that the mustard and tomato sauce is self serve which means you can get as much as you need for your chips.

Had the double burger which was delicious and so glad that they don't use brioche buns. Reasonably priced and the store has a nice fit out. Would I come back again? Most definitely.

The food was pretty good. The chilli fries were tasty, but some were hot and others were a little cold. I had the bacon burger which was delicious, but very small ( I ate it in 6 bites). The aoli was amazing. Overall wuite good but very pricey!!!

I ordered the very basic burger and I loved it especially the chips!! So crispy and I love the chilli mayo with it. Ingredients are so fresh, staff members are friendly. 5 stars!

Great service and quality burger. The beef patty is so juicy, lettuce is so fresh. My favorite burger is the Magic Deluxe! And you MUST have the ice cream “BLUEBERRY PIE “ omg just try it. I visited again for this lol

Tasty but Tiniest $13 burger I ever saw. The size of a fully loaded McDonald’s breakfast muffin. Ridiculous

In the upper dining precinct of Chadstone, Burger Project is a nice oasis for a quick lunch or dinner in the busy shopping mecca. With a large area for seating, the decor is white and light with bold, retro touches. Concentrating on burgers, shakes and sundaes, Burger Project is a step up from your food court and fast food chain establishments.

I've had a few different burgers here, and particularly like the one that replaces bun with jumbo sized lettuce leaves. The meat is nice and juicy and the burgers are full of flavour and fresh ingredients. I also love their sundaes, which have a yummy mix of toppings.

The area is clean and tidy and service is efficient and friendly. I shop at Chadstone a lot, and love escaping to this dining precinct to escape the crowds. Burger Project stands out as a great choice for high end fast food with a nice atmosphere and quality food.

I went here twice and recently tried the Aussie Burger. Taste-wise their burgers are great, good customer services and a huge space. Unfortunetlythe burger was quite small imo. I was still hungry afterwards and for $14 I would expect something that is a bit bigger.
Overall it is a decent Burger Joint in Chaddy. Would visit again.

I was disappointed with my burger from Burger Project. There was only one vegetarian option and it was a mushroom. The mushroom in the burger was alright but I dislike the combination. I enjoyed the softness of the bun but the burger overall was very flavourless.

Went for lunch during the school holidays with my partner and two 13 year old boys.
At $75 dollars for lunch, I had high expectations which unfortunately fell short.
Burgers: One enjoyed his Cheeseburger, said it tasted like Macca’s (at 3 x the price), the other one wasn’t impressed. I had the Chicken Burger which had a generous juicy breast fillet but somehow lacked flavour. Overall as mentioned previously by others, the burgers are small for the price.
Chips: Very disappointing. They were cold, soggy and unsalted.
Chicken Bites: Excellent!
Drinks: Post mix, expensive and the Creaming Soda that I had tasted strange and very syrupy.
Although positioned away from the crowds and noise of the Food Court with so many other options to chose from at Chadstone, I doubt we will return.

Great second time at a different Burger Project outlet. This time I got the Chicken Deluxe which was quite delicious. The chicken was tender and crispy and there was lots of sauce (potentially on the side of too much). I really enjoyed the chips; they had the right proportion of crispiness to soft potato centre. The seating and ambience isn’t anything too special - but can’t expect much from a burger joint. Overall a decent burger spot in Chadstone.

Burgers are nice and reasonably priced. Just an observation, kitchen staff preparing burgers using hands after handling rubbish bins, not very hygienic. They should be wearing gloves.
Definitely get the combos (much cheaper). The shakes are to die for.
It's on the upper floor so a bit less crowded during peak hours but they are somehow always short on staff. I think it's better than many other burger places in Chadstone but some think otherwise. But if Grill'd is too crowded bruger project is a good alternative.
The Brunch Specialist
The Burger Project at Chadstone is located in the restaurant precinct close to the cinemas. I like that it has plenty of seating and that’s it’s away from the noisy food court. Once you’ve placed an order at the counter you’re handed a buzzer to collect your food when it’s ready, similar to a food court. Patrons can help themselves to the communal tomato sauce and mustard.

Taking advantage of the “back to the future” promotion, we ordered the $9.95 cheeseburger and small chips deal. Overall we enjoyed our burgers however I wasn’t blown away, it was presented and tasted as expected. The burgers were filling although a little messy to eat.

Overall I like the location and I think that the $9.95 burger and chips deal offers great value. I rate the Burger Project 3.5 ⭐️ out of 5.

The location does allow you to escape the bustle of Chadstone. Thick shake was nice. Straw started to fall apart near the end. Chips were good and all eaten. The real reason for visiting was the burgers and they disappointed. Buns are great. Cheese, pickles, sauce all good. Slice of tomato was way way too thick - thicker than the pattie but the real issue is the core product the pattie. We all found it to be underground leaving the pattie chewy and tasting like cheap cuts with gristle. What a pity.

The Burger Project is an interesting place. I must say that the décor and seating isn't the best at the Chadstone restaurant. I enjoyed the burger that I had here but not sure I would rush back right away!

I would love to see some more vegan and veggie burgers on the menu in the future.
Crabapples For Lunch
Had the burger with a beef patty and crumbed mushroom. The bun was mediocre, much like the rest of the toppings, and the patty was quite unpleasant to eat because there were hard bits in it. I'm not sure if that's supposed to be some hipster attempt at demonstrating the ingredients are organic or something, but that really didn't do it for me.

This chain seems like one of those that tries to generate hype because the owner, Neil Perry, is a celebrity chef, but I didn't see much reason to rave about it. I won't be coming back, mostly because of the patty. Much better burgers out there for the same price.

Not gonna lie after I ate the magic deluxe burger it had me craving another so I ordered the magic mushroom straight after. That confit mushroom is so delicious I recommend to anyone that loves mushrooms

Heard good things about this place however from the start could tell we were going to have a bad experience. Picked up our order only to be told that we ordered two of the same shakes instead of 1 chocolate and 1 caramel. After insisting that the order was wrong was told we could “buy another one” instead of just swapping it over for us - at 7 bucks a shake! Burgers were average, but I found the meat patties were flavorful, however the size of the burger was a let down at 15 bucks. Rest of the burger after the pattie was ordinary at best - would not try again.
Alijargalb
The burger here are fabulous. The meat is juicy and tender and milkshakes and fries are a great accompaniment. The price is also great for the quality you are receiving
Mian
The burger is alright but the chicken bites were terrible!! They were not even chicken, it’s just a tasteless deep fried flour balls. Tongue-destroying texture. Hard and oily.
AaronN
My second time trying burger project, and on each occasion I’ve found the burger to be lacking. I got the Aussie, which had a strange consistency in the meat which I didn’t enjoy. Not sure I will give it another shot
LL
Ambience- 3/5, spacious but felt more like a food court.
Quality- 4/5, best bun Ive had but the beef patty was quite chewy. Chicken burger was better and tastier.
Quantity- 1.5/5, almost the size of a McDonald's $1 hamburger meal. Definitely not worth it as each burger cost around $15 without chips.

Would not visit again.

How nice to go higher in Chadstone and eat where there's less people and more seats at lunchtime. I chose a katsu chicken burger and a ginger beer soda. I have to say I'm tired of brioche buns. Their sweetness and lack of holdability annoy me. I love the Grilld buns but aside from this it was very tasty and great for the price. It didn't wow me in I'd say I've gotta come back bcz it was so good but it was nice enough I would eat there again.
KH
Tried their Japanese limited edition burger instead. Be hurry while stocks last! The meat patty was marinated with teriyaki sauce. Succulent and quite juicy, while the salads with it was delicious. Their fries are very delicious, crunchy and tasty. Their strawberry fizz drink though was the highlight for me. Can’t fault it on my night I went.
Burgers Of Melbourne
Unfortunately BP didn't hit the mark with this one. I thought I with I've Chadstone a shot after not such a great experience in the CBD. Chaddy - Same Same.

Came here for dinner before heading over to a movie. Ordered at the counter and was given a buzzer to take to the table. Ordered the spicy fried chicken Katsu burger, and my husband had the magic deluxe. (He really enjoyed this as the beef came medium). And we had large fries to share with spicy chipotle mayo. Burgers were really nice, had lots of fillings, fresh and packed with lots of flavour. The only thing I found to be an issue were that the fries weren’t hot, which was dissapointing, they were barely just warm. Probably from sitting under the heaters too long. And not much option for those who prefer something other than beef. 1 vegetarian option and they only had 2 chicken options on the menu and both of them were fried.
BB King
When I asked if the meat was cooked fresh they said yes.... less than 3 minutes my burger was ready and meat barely warm inside.

The one in the city always makes them fresh
@foodtom
I went to the burger project recently for a catch up with a friend of mine.
The service was quick, you have to order and pay first, the burger was ready quickly
I enjoyed the burger and the atmosphere for the burger joint, everything was spacious and easy access to get napkins or to order.
The bun was nicely soft, patty was juicy and mixed well with the sauce, i liked the flavours how it combined together with the onion, pickles and tomatoes.
Definitely a nice burger if i am feeling like a light meal.
Kylie
Tried their classic burger and also their special of the day - Wagyu burger. Both were delicious, the Wagyu especially so. The waiting time took longer than most fast food places, but I assume because they're all freshly made. Juicy meat, soft bun. Chips were soft but cripsy on the outside. Got baited into paying extra for the sauce, but there is free tomato and barbecue sauce near the counter. Would definitely come back, especially with the wonderful ideals behind the 'burger project'.
Hangryreviews
It was great, staff were pretty nice considering it was a Saturday at Chadstone. I had the Katsu Burger, it was delish, the bun was soft and sweet, and the chicken had the perfect crisp level! The chips were ok, but chips are chips, they're never anything to write home about. Better than Huxtaburger.
Zamal
idk what they did different than the original location, i think we must have just been really hungry, but it was a great burger. find myself craving to come back here whenever im in chaddy. would not recommend the sundae/smoothie or whatever the hell i got as a dessert- it was way to sweet for me. though others might find it very tasty/
Justine
We had the Chilli Cheese burger (bacon added) and the Bacon Project burger, and shared a large chipotle chilli seasoned chips and homemade passionfruit soda. We thought the flavour of the burgers was really nice, particularly the Chilli cheese which was extra delicious. We felt a bit gipped with the Bacon Project burger. It's one of the most expensive burgers on the menu yet it's size is small, about the size of a quarter pounder from Macas. The flavour didn't compensate for the poor value for money. My partner wasn't full and had to go elsewhere to buy more food. The chipotle chips have a good kick of chilli. The drink was quite nice too. We spent $40.

Average burgers. Has the Americano and it was good, not bad but not a stand out - frankly, kinda tasted like a Macccas Cheeseburger?! The dark chocolate shake was really delicious and the chips were not too bad, they could’ve been crispier! All in all, not bad for a shopping Centre food eatery!
Lindy Lang
An nice burger, enjoyable, not spectacular.

Far prefer Tuckshop Takeaway for the same price.

Nice, just nice - nothing special. Pickles taste a bit odd.
The.Top.Lifestylee
Really good place. The service was incredible! Got something that tasted funny and they immediately changed it for a different burger. They were a reasonable price and had a nice flavour!
Dine And Dash
Came to the Burger Project for the first time for lunch at 2:30 pm today and the place was pretty quiet. This is from the kitchen of Neil Perry so I was expecting great things.

I went up to the counter to order my food. The staff member who served me was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. She assisted me by recommending an item on the menu and explained what burgers were popular as well.

Even though the website has many mentions of where they get their beef from and what great beef it is, I decided to order a chicken burger. Apparently, it's Lilydale chicken. I ordered the Spicy Fried Chicken Katsu. It includes chicken, salted red chilli, coleslaw, pickles, lettuce and katsu sauce. I also ordered a small fries with a chipotle sauce. I found it inconvenient that I also had to collect my food from the counter after being “buzzed” when it was ready, even at a pub they bring the meal to you!

The designated eating area was aesthetically pleasing with a grey and white design. It wasn’t very busy but the area was clean and tidy. I wondered if it was liked that when the place was full? I enjoyed the music they played.

When the food came, it was presented nicely (see photo). The chips were warm, not hot so that was a bad start however they were crunchy and golden and went well with the chipotle sauce. After opening the wrapper of the burger, my first thought was it was a bit small and then I noticed the massive amount of lettuce they put in it. It was way too much. The burger did not look like the photo on the website but to be fair they seldom do. This would have been a good ‘Package Shot’ for the ABC’s Th Checkout programme!!!

On the upside, the chicken was juicy and succulent and the coleslaw was a great accompaniment to the chicken and the burger as a whole.

Overall, the burger was pretty good but most likely I wouldn’t get that specific one again. Would have to try the Tasmanian beef next time. Surprisingly, the meal filled me up and once I got past the lettuce, I enjoyed it.

They do offer a ‘burger in a bowl’, which has no bun and dare I say it? Extra lettuce!!!

Burger was $13.50 and they are licensed.
Good Food Good Mood
It took me awhile to try Burger project and I’m really not sure why. I love burgers and I love Neil Perry so frankly what’s not to like.
The concept here is 100% grass fed beef from western Tassie which is all well and good for my husband who had one of those but 9 times out of ten I favour the chicken burger. No doubt the chickens were of the healthy happy free roaming variety knowing Mr Perry (not personally sadly).
We ordered and waited for our buzzer to go off and thankfully there wasn’t too long to wait. They certainly didn’t look attractive and the bun appeared sad and squashed but holy hell that katsu sauce was sensational. I thoroughly enjoyed the burger and chips although for takeaway food it’s by no means cheap. A great burger option that will definitely make you full but won’t put you into a sickening food coma

I’ve always loved a good burger so one night at Chadstone while we were searching for a not so expensive place to eat for once, we decided to finally try out Neil Perry’s Burger Project!. They advertise that their beef is 100% grass fed and comes from Cape Grim in North Western Tasmania where happy healthy cows live on green, pristine pastures. In fact when you walk into the very spacious restaurant, one side of the wall captures this beautifully.

The burger of choice The Bacon Project it tasted ok but value for money severely lacking for the money I was expecting a sizable burger served on plate. Instead a small burger served in a paper bag. Seriously folks I've seen bigger cheese burgers. First and last time for me.

Hungry Tum
A burger's beauty is in the eye of the beholder! And I really liked the burgers here. I had the double and thought it was excellent. A largish soft milk bun, 2 perfectly cooked lightly flavoured patties, creamy American cheese, special sauce and vinegary pickles. Prices are slightly higher than usual but I don't mind paying for the convenience of eating at Chadstone (their rent must be pretty high!). I certainly don't agree with the highly negative reviews.
Wedders
Nothing special. Burgers are reasonable but the shakes are better. There are lots of better burgers in Melbourne. Betty’s and Tuckshop Takeaway leave most of the rest for dead.
Edwin S
The burger was very dry. In my opinion is not worth it. The pattie too dry and I can not taste the "special" sauce that they refer to.
MacDonalds Angus range taste better than this.
Josephine
Tried the classic burger and was pleasantly surprised. The beef patty came out medium which is you don't get at other burger joints. The burger as a whole had no wow factor but it still tasted good. You definitely have to try the chips with sichuan pepper salt. It's different but soo good!
Jaye Toulson
Disapointing experience here, the cheese burger was above average but that was by far the best/only good thing about it. Especially poor customer service. Mostlikey will not be coming back #mcdonaldsisntthatbadafterall
Jacob Eats
Moderately above average burger, moderately below average service.
The server took down the order wrong, then the waiter argued about it once I brought it up.
The Mexican burger tasted Good, but was jaded by bad service, I was jaded by bad service.
May comeback if taken by a friend.
Mi55Bee
Mushroom Burger was okay i think the city outlets are better, fries were really good! Being in chaddy please be expecting some queue and a couple more minutes in getting your meal. Ice tea was very average dont think its worth the price
Ramieleatsshootsandleaves
Great milkshakes!
And loving their eco friendly option of disposing food packaging - we SO need more of that happening!
Would like to see more creative variety of burgers...
Tania
Burger was really flavorsome. Would recommend "the bacon project". Burger and chips were not oily like some burger places.
🍔✔️
🍟✔️
thickshake✔️
Coffee And Food Enthusiast.
I was pleasantly surprised by my burger, I walk past this place everyday and I haven't had the urge to go in as it does look more on the 'fast food' burger chain than boutique burger place, I tried their burger of the month, which was the Italian for $9.95 it was very good! It came with what appeared to be a well made nap sauce, eggplant tempura, mozzarella, beef petty, baby spinach in a brioche bun. The patty was cooked near perfect and the eggplant tempura provided a nice crunchy texture. If I have it again, I would ask for double mozzarella as it was a little faint in the burger, and the baby spinach was also close to non existent. Overall, was happy with what I received and would go again.
Thebeardedone
Good burgers, excellent fries and shakes. Not as expensive as you’d expect. Great atmosphere and nowhere near as crowded as the food courts.
The Dear Luncher
The Dear Luncher hates going to Chadstone. However sometimes there are forces at play in the world that even the most despotic of culinary rulers cannot control. Burger Project burgers make the Chadstone experience approximately 8% better. A little heavy on the sauce, these burgers. Which tends to overpower all the other ingredients. But the Little Luncher in tow seemed happy enough. Lets hope Chadstone is not visited again for at least another year.
Hungry_for_burgers
Tried the Chicken Katsu burger and it was below average, plain in taste and the burger had been very lazily thrown together. Something you'd expect from a fast food restaurant.
The chips were quite tasty but overall I was expecting a lot more for what I was paying.
Van Nguyen
Came in with little expectation and was pleasantly surprised. Love that they use the bread top milky buns! We ordered the Chilli Cheeseburger, meat patties you can tell are not processed but made in store, super juicy and very delish. Chips are delish with the peri salt. Love that Burger Project is at Chadstone, this is our stop pre movies!
C.Yong
There spicy chicken katsu and american cheese were delicious! Their housemade ice teas delicious as well! There concept felt like american style, definitely will come back there again! Staff was friendly
FattyM
Had expectations that's this would come to a good dupe for shack shake burgers due to its presentation but it wasn't quite. Wasn't a bad burger but also wasn't the best I've had.
CC
An expensive Mc Donalds basically, no table service of any description. Food was average and portions small. Decor standard Mc Donald's plastic chairs etc
Azusa
ordinary burger, lots of people in the kitchen but service is super slow. I wont say burgers are bad but very ordinary, plenty of better burger places out there.
Lisa Giles
So happy Chadstone added Burger Project to the new section. I've now had the burger/mushroom stack burger which was absolutely divine. The special sauce was delicious and the meat patty was juicy and tender. I've also tried the chicken katsu burger which was also incredibly tasty. The chicken was perfectly cooked, and not dry at all. The flavour of the burger was great too. Definitely a good spot to eat at if you find yourself hungry at chaddy.
CoolBeans
Went on a Friday around 6.30pm. It wasn't busy so we expected a good service. There were a few tables that weren't clean to be seen on the outset.

The menu looked promising. We ordered one caramel milkshake, one large potion of fries with chilli and BBQ sauce with two fried chilli katsu burgers with added cheese.

We were given a buzzing device to collect our order. The store didn't have much to look at. The seating was a tad uncomfortable. The food didn't take long to come out. The fries were good. The milkshake was delicious. The burgers were quite underwhelming however. It wasn't value for money. Each burger being around the $11.50 mark you expect it to be filling. It was spicy but bearable. Overall needs bit of pazzaz!
George David Michaelides
While the beef burgers are ok here I enjoy the spicy chicken Katsu burger here the most, the consistency is a little bit of an issue here however as I've had a few bad ones where the chicken was overcooked
Charlie Daniels (Curious Charlie)
The Burger Project at Chadstone is on the top level, top top food area, an area with restaurants with an open and inviting front. We've been to the BP in the city so were happy to try this location, with the expectation of the same quality. This place is huge! Much larger than the city branch. Order, grab a buzzer, a table then pick up when ready. On a Tuesday night at 6pm it wasn't busy just yet, though when we were leaving that's when the crowds arrived.
Hungry Little Dinosaur
I waited here for 20 minutes for a burger, fries and coke amongst dirty wrappers and greasy tables. Nobody else in the restaurant. Just me. Nobody came to clean the tables, even after I left after receiving my food. Got a cold burger, extremely average burger. Would have been better off going to Hungry Jacks downstairs.
Tim
Melbourne is in the grips of a burger revolution, this place however is not quite part of that revolution. We ordered a Classic, an American Cheese and a Bacon Project, three sides of chips and a milkshake ($7.50!!!!!), for $55. The more you pay the less you get, the Bacon Project gone in five bites and terribly unfulfilling, and only comes with meat and bacon, imagine the cost if I have asked for lettuce or tomato.
The taste was nice, the sauces and flavours great, but at a happy meal size, not good enough. And seriously $7.50 for a half size milkshake, cmon.
This place is trying to get by on the thirst Melbournians now have for burgers and falls short. Lack of choice and portion issues aside, what we did have was very tasty, but I want a burger that I can devour.....Beef it up...
RJP
Ordered the cheese and bacon burger. The pattie and bacon were spot on. Unfortunately they were let down by the condiments, pickles and salad.
JellyWoman
The perfect amount of bacon! (Who am I kidding? There can always be more). The bacon was excellently cooked, crispy but still soft enough to bite through.
Their patties were still pink in the middle (which is how I prefer my burgers, they also make them in store :O ) and were pretty flavourful.
I'd give it a slightly higher score if it was a little cheaper
Wintice
Expensive for the small portion. Despite the shop having advertisements of its app hung everywhere, the staff who served me didn't know how to process the transaction through the app.
Taste wasn't anything special, though I did have the classic burger.
Luke Loves Food
Ate here today as I had been interested in trying a higher end burger place in a shopping centre to see how it compared to the better ones i'd experienced. It ended up having probably the nicest beef I had eaten in a long time. Really juicy and thick. I had the chilli chips which were nice, however a little less spicy than expected, but still really crisp and crunchy. The staff were amazing, the girl working behind the counter was chatty and personable and I really appreciated the personal touch. The videos of the cows walking around the fields made me feel really nice in a world of hormone added meats and factory farming. I had a chocolate thickshake which was quite difficult to eat. The price was also really affordable with the burger only costing $11, somewhat cheaper than royal stacks located downstairs. The thickshake was quite expensive however at $7.50 for a large which was quite small (but the thickness made up for it as it was nearly impossible to drink through a straw!). The lack of a meal deal was quite disappointing as this should be something all burger places have in my opinion, although this is becoming increasingly more common so I cant really fault them for it. Overall I would recommend it if you want a burger place thats relatively up market at Chadstone and dont want to pay the price of Royal Stacks.

The new chadstone dining terrace is quite enticing, so I ate a quick dinner here before catching a movie at the new Hoyt's cinema. I wasn't expecting much from burger project, but my cheeseburger was beautifully presented and delicious, at 11.50. I also had chips and foolishly got chilli salt on them- not a flavour I'll choose again. But the crunch and texture of the chips was good! The decor is quite nice and fresh, due to the building being brand new, but all the customers were leaving their rubbish at their tables and not a single staff member came out to the floor to clean a table during the 20or so mins I dined there. By the time I left, there were at least five tables in need of clearing (i cleared my own because I'm decent- not to boast or anything). Be warned: though the burgers are delicious, the sneaky surcharge you. The lady at the register asked me how I wanted to pay, I said by card, and I was not informed that there would be a surcharge for payWave. It was only when I looked at my receipt that I noticed the surcharge. Didn't think that was very good so something to be aware of when dining here.

I had the double with bacon and jalapeños...wife had the chicken burger. Very good service, friendly staff and fresh food. Very good burgers..
Food Traveller
As someone who tries to live a healthy lifestyle I tend to avoid burger joints and other fast foods. On my cheat days I really enjoy burger project. There's something about that tender juicy beef patty, brioche bun, and my side chips with 'special sauce' and a milkshake that almost makes me want to quit being healthy and come here everyday and indulge. The quality of burgers is fantastic and I especially like that it's all organic grass fed beef! If you're craving burgers near chadstone this place is definitely a must and I already can't wait to return on my next cheat day! *drool*
DamoForce Food
Wasn't bad but wasn't amazing, the burgers came out pretty sloppy and the chicken as ravaged. Though the shakes were the thickest around!! Chicken needs worth and presentation and the bacon ratio too.
Chehand Kaluarachchi
A pretty nice burger place, affordable and they serve up really delicious and hearty burgers. Their child chips are also really good. Orders are ready really quick and the staff are friendly.
Gastrology
As its name suggests, this place is all about hearty, juicy, delicious burgers! The menu features 14 hand-crafted burgers showcasing 36-month, grass-fed Cape Grim beef from Tasmania, free-range Lilydale chicken, as well as a delicious vegetarian crumbed confit mushroom option. Chips can be salted and sauced-up in a range of tempting flavours, while house-churned softserve is the hero of a range of ice cream desserts.
Spudsburgeradventures
Nice big restaurant in Chadstone, large variety of burgers on the menu to choose from, and super friendly service were positives but unfortunately I left a bit disappointed. The different elements of the burgers tasted good, particularly the katsu chicken, but each burger had various issues. One had a soggy bun from the chicken's juiciness, the bacon on another was tough, and the crumbed mushroom while tasty, was a bit soggy and didn't offer the crunch expected. All small things, but with a little tweaking these burgers would have been really good. As mentioned the Katsu chicken was the standout of what was tasted. Also don't understand why they put the burgers in paper wrapping when you're dining in as 1 - it squashes the burger and doesn't help maintain its structure very well, and 2 - its just a waste of paper when it is literally on there for a couple of minutes before being discarded. It would be better if it was just presented on a plate/tray, but I understand they are going for the fast food market so maybe just change the way the wrapping is done. Would visit again but there are better burger options around.
Mervin
Bacon project burger was good although a little on the small size.My wife had the fried chicken with katsu burger and it was soggy and not pleasant to eat at all.The thickshakes are impossible to drink as they only have the thin straws designed for a soft drink. Disappointing experience all round
Kk
I don't understand the hate the burger project is getting. I ordered the magic deluxe burger and boy was it worth the $13.90 price tag! The meat patty was juicy and tender, the mushroom was cooked well and crunchy (but a little too salty, after a couple of bites you will need A LOT of water) and the bun was nice and soft it was almost the perfect burger but the pickles let the whole team down, it tasted like cucumber dipped in vinegar. So close to a perfect burger but if you're going to put pickles on a burger make sure it's the legit kind. The chips were nicely crunchy but the chipotle salt was average at best. There was no kick or umph in flavor you know the kind that nandos has or even kfc... it was ok chips but i was expecting more for the price. That's also another thing the price for everything is a little steep. The only worth it thing would be the burgers because you can taste the care and quality ingredients. Overall a very good burger and burger project will be my new burger joint but get chips somewhere else.

Great burgers - really juicy and tasty and love the cheese they use! My favourite is the American. The service is good and the meat is quality! Thanks guys!

Nothing beats treating oneself to burger, fries and soft serves - the perfect American inspired indulgence that would surely plaster a smile across anyone's face. I was spoiled for choices in Adelaide but still have yet to find a burger joint that would hit all the right spots in my tummy. Burger Project, the brainchild of Neil Perry opened its doors to the Chadstone crowd quite recently and it only took me a few months to bring myself there despite visiting Chadstone shopping centre few times in a month.

Neil Perry inspired Burger place right in the heart of Chadstone Shopping Centre. We had the Classic and Magic Deluxe along with a side of fries. Had home-made ginger beer and the girlfriend had the butchers bride pale ale. The burgers were big and juice with lots of flavour looking at around $35.00 between both of us so around $17.50 each not bad for a main meal with drinks and a desert.

A little disappointing. A long wait for a small burger. The cheese burger consisted of more lettuce then any other ingredient. The chips were well flavoured but needed more salt. Overall I was very underwhelmed.

Waited over 10mins for the mushroom burger. It was nicely crumbed but quite salty. The cheese inside clashed with the mushroom. Rest of burger was ordinary and very disappointing.
The burgers tasted as good as they looked! Fresh and succulent beef washed down with a very refreshing home made iced tea. Definitely a nice place to catch up with friends

Not sure why this is rated so low, I loved my meal!

I had the American burger with chilli salt chips and a Burger Project Pilsner. Everything was delicious! Meat patty had plenty of flavour, plenty of sauce on the burger and a nice soft bun that wasn't sweet like brioche, only $9.90 too! Chips were also delicious, perfectly crunchy and I'd recommend the chilli salt, not too spicy but gives the chips a difference. Wash that down with a beer and you've got the perfect meal!

Very happy and will definitely be back!

Took too long for the burgers to come out (store was not even full - with 6 other table besides us). Waited 15 minutes for 2 burgers ! PS: Burger was so so.

We were here for dinner last Saturday night, the place was not busy at all which is nice. It took a while for two burgers and chips to be ready but we are very satisfied with the burgers. We ordered American cheese and Cheese burger, the patties were juicy and flavoursome, special sauce was very delicious. Chipotle Chips are average tho, probably will give it a miss next time. We'll definitely come back!

Decided to try this place out at Chadstone and I wasn't too impressed. It was overpriced and the food was just average. Despite ordering in the late afternoon with hardly any customers, we also waited for 10-15 minutes to get our food. Not worth the hype.

The menu consists of burgers and ice-cream desserts. For drinks, you can order one of their Salted Caramel shakes ($7.50) or their house made sodas ($4.50) like Passion Pop… I tried the vegetarian burger: the ‘Magic Mushroom – crumbed confit mushroom, cheese, onion, pickles, tomato, lettuce and secret sauce ($10.50)’.

So many delicious options to choose from and at competitive prices. I had the cheese and bacon, the lettuce was crispy and colourful like the tomato. So much seating as well. Will be back to try the many other delicious options. They even have a nice dessert menu.

I wasnt impressed given the price. Atmosphere and music were great but the burger had little flavour and was quite small in size, nearly $18 for chips and a burger.

The buns let the burgers down, end of story. They have no substance and collapse into mush like sliced bread. I had the cheese and bacon burger, which was nice enough, but nothing special: very "American diner" style. Chips tasty and crispy but nothing to rave about, nothing that sets them apart. So there is a theme emerging.... It would be nice to have the option of tap water, rather than sugary drinks or paying for bottled water. On the whole, I think the marketing leads you to expect a gourmet burger experience but the project here seems more retro, it's appeal more nostalgic than distinguished.

Nothing here to really excite the burger fan wanting a substantial feed. My heart sank when my order of Katsu Chicken burger arrived. It was adequately tasty, but small like a food chain burger. What a shame - I was expecting more from this establishment tagged with Neil Perry's reputation.

Went there yesterday for a quick bite.

Prices were fairly average. $14 for a burger with 2 patties. Usually for $14 you can get bacon added in but eh.

Wait was quite long as there were only 3 other people in the massive seating area.

The chips are great but once again for the price you should be getting a lot more.

We got a cheese burger and a double, my doubles bun completely disintegrated and was stuck to the paper it came in. The burger itself wasn't bad,the party was quite pink so it was juicy and quite thick.

Overall for the price you can get much better but if you're after a decent burger at Chaddy apart from pilgrims cafe you can't do better Yolande

Amazing burgers, quite reasonably priced considering what you're getting.

The burgers are always juicy, flavoursome and perfectly cooked.

Highly recommend the fried chicken katsu.

Bland and cold burgers by the time they came to us. Had to check out what the rave was about but hey, if you want a burger, go to the foodcourt. Not up to the expectation. The chips were a poor mans serving. Fine burger dining prices for not so much. Don't waste your money.
Mujo Reviews Meals
Overall, my experience with Burger Project was a pleasant one. By the end of my meal I realised that most of the commotion caused by all of the negative reviews on Zomato were highly unjustified, and is the product of heavily skewed bias. The restaurant is modern, in a prime location and supports the sustainability of animal consumption, something I am concerned about as of late. The food was excellent, but the few things aforementioned need to be reviewed before I can wholeheartedly enjoy eating there. The place holds lots of promise and would definitely go back again. Had the chance to check the hype at this burger joint today.

No queues and choice of seating (it was earlyish though)

Ordered the chicken and bacon katsu burger and a plain katsu burger with a large chips.

Chips were pretty crunchy and a tad too much salt.

The burgers were good but a little messy. The bun was standard (non brioche, for once!) the burger had cabbage and lettuce that gave a good taste and crunch (compared to the usual 'plain' lettuce) and the katsu sauce was plentiful and dripped out the end of the burger. Chicken was in a crispy batter. Overall pretty nice but not the best burger

Overall

We had dinner here last night in the new part of Chaddy near the cinemas and it wasn't a bad place to come for something quick and easy. The burgers were pretty good and service was good.

Dont know what all the hype was about the Burgers are average. I have had better at other places. But as for the staff they are rude and un helpful and thats one of the reasons i will never go back there!!!

A varied selection, switched on staff, pleasant lay out. We were made to feel welcome, a lot more than can be said for most burger joints. We were incredibly happy with our burgers, sides were decent. I think the staff and atmosphere here more than make up for any perceived faults (I personally had none) and I sincerely think that needs to be acknowledged. Totally recommend the chicken katsu with bacon. Choices.

The hype for burgers at the Burger Project by Neil Perry was real. A new restaurant at the new section of Chadstone's Shopping Centre upstairs. We waited in line the second week the new section opened, waited around ~15 mins, which isn't too bad. Not too bad service, as we didn't wait THAT long seeing as how busy it was. I had the american cheese, I loved the rose mayonnaise and my burger was drench in the sauce delicious! My partner chose the cheese and bacon burger, however I found there was some inconsistency as his burger lacked sauce (barely any) that we had to put extra in from the side, however the patty for both were quite juicy. The drinks were nice, the homemade iced tea was nice though, not too sweet. For that price, I'd prefer to get my burgers at a different joint.

Had this for lunch to see what the hype was.about. Quite a lot of seating and good lighting.

Ordered the double, fried chicken katsu, chips and vanilla thickshake. Chips are average, though the chipotle salt is flavoursome. The double was average, kind of tastes like a big Mac and the chicken katsu was average as well. Kind say that it was really worth the price. Thickshake was just like a clump of vanilla. For the price, wouldn't recommend it

After trying the burgers here I must say I was impressed. They have a good selection to choose from and a good selection of deserts. The burgers were pretty tasty and good enough to make me want to go back. They won't knock your socks off but will definitely satisfy the taste buds.
Burgers Over Abs
If you like American style cheese burgers this is worth a try. This is coming from someone who doesn't like American style cheese burgers LOL. The chips are not the best. They are bad and chips are always good. House made ice tea taste like Gloria Jeans Ice Tea. The burger bowl is not a salad it's just an open burger without the bun so don't be fooled when they say "Extra lettuce" it's actually ONE piece of extra lettuce leaf LOL. But anyway the burgers were full of flavour and that's all you want really.
