Review Vistana Malaysian Restaurant - Charlestown

I just googled Cheap eats and top rated eateries in Charlestown, NSW. Vistana was the first to pop-up and so we decided to try it. It was so clean for eat in, the best Nasi Goreng we've had ever period. The food felt so clean too.. everything about this place was just perfect including the prices. We're glad we decided to go here..

I used to come here frequently, food was fresh, always got chicken chilli basil dish. I think new ownership in the last couple of years, my chicken chilli basil dish tasted like sweet and sour out of a jar and not one basil leaf in sight. Husbands dish was pretty average aswell. It was hot and tasty just not authentic.

Found the perfect combination of great food, perfect service and reasonable price after a while! Food was tasty, service was on point and the price was so reasonable that we were kind of surprised. I would highly recommend this place. Hae Mee: Thick yellow noodles in fragrant stock of fresh shrimp and dried prawns, topped with king prawns, boiled eggs, bean sprouts. Mee Hoen: Rice vermicelli wok fried with spicy jam, king prawns, thai basil and fresh bean sprouts.

I’m disappointed by their Nasi goreng, just seems like average local fried rice with a bit of chilli. Doesn’t taste authentic.

I wanted this place to be my first review. I felt compelled to write it because I have visited this place for 5 years consistently and have always ordered their ipoh hor fun. As I depart for Syd, this is probably the place I will miss the most especially with their unbeatable $10 lunch specials everyday. As someone who is a fanatic of Malaysian food, I have to say they cook that particular dish with perfectly charred noodles and a tasty sauce that rival the best Malaysian restaurants in Australia that I have been to. This is coming from someone who visits every single Malaysian restaurant they can and has personally gone to Malaysia to eat the dish. Nevertheless, it's my own subjective opinion. My time as a uni student from SA was made that much sweeter by this place with a homely vibe. The level of nutrition with the various vegetables and meat made me feel very well taken care of and the place has just transformed it's decor to feel just a little bit more exotic. THank you to this lovely restaurant that has accompanied me for 5 years. I hope everyone else can experience the happiness this place has brought to me.

Still waiting on our meal that was delivered at 1909. Attempt #2 - ordered food minus seafood. What are these things in the photo of fried rice.?

Decent Malaysian food. The char koay teow has a good wokhei to it. The white tea was a disappointment unfortunately. Wasn't sure if it was house brewed.
