Review Oritenal Kitchen - Charnwood

The worst asian food we have ever had mongolian beef had about 5 small pieces of beed abd the rest watery vegetables. The honey chicken was super oily and a thick floury batter on the outside Rice not fresh very unimpressed

Ripped off in all aspects. Even the fried rice was sub-standard. Hubby actually thought it was boiled rice. Never again. Chewy steak with watery sauce. "Stir fried mushroom dish with snow peas and sugar snap peas" bulked out with cheaper alternatives - carrot and celery. Minimal mushrooms and the other greens. Paid good money for this. Very disappointed.

$81 wasted. Dishes were all very bland, Crispy chillie beef tastes like burnt sugar. Large special fried rice had 1 tiny prawn, peas all had black burnt spots and black bits all through the rice, tasted burnt, I knew it would as the car smelt like burnt sugar driving home after picking it up. Mongolian lamb had barely any taste and had a very strange smell to it. Do not recommend. Better off buying Macca's

The owners here are extremely welcoming and are so nice. They are such a great business to go to and support during these times

A great long established and dependable local Asian Restaurant. Fast courteous service and consistently appetising and tasty food that meets our expectations.

I searched all over Canberra for a place that did a decent Omelette, little did I realise this hidden Gem was what I was looking for all along! Not only did they make one of the best Omelette's I've ever had, second to none, but their sauces were smooth and addicting! Their fried rice is enough to turn any meal into a feast, I've ordered with them for when I was having guests over and everyone was pleased. I cannot recommend them more, they're one of the few places in Canberra that I keep coming back to again and again.

Unfriendly staff looks like they were doing us a favor taking our money by giving us the most pethatic and tasteless food we ever had and expensive. Have better restaurants in Canberra to have some good Chinese and Malaysian food. Would not recommend it waste of money for tasteless food.

Our local Malay/Chinese. The Char kway Teow is fantastic, the Beef Rendang is AMAZING and we have never had a bad meal in the whole year we've been eating there. Friendly and obliging.

Pathetic food and service

The ambience is of a small cafe. The food is sub standard, not tasty at all. Infact one of the worst food I ever had. We ordered Narsi Goreng, Chilli Basil Prawns and Chilli Beef. Narsi Goreng hardly had any chicken in it, Chilli Basil prawns was a dish made of onions with some prawns and chilli basil for garnishing, Beef was dry and flavourless.

The staff is unfriendly and unwelcoming. Don't think they care.

Never visiting again.

Good (as hoped). Curry puff, beef rendang and duck laksa all very good. The curry puff pastry was layered and crisp though slightly oily.
