Review Chimichuri - Chatswood

Ordered the scallop shell and the hulk burger. Both very good quality and delicious! Both meals were of a decent size. Coffees were also good. I would definitely come back for both the food and coffee! There is a dual level for seating - upstairs is where prams can access. Toilets close by too.

A nice place to go for breakfast or brunch. Service is great. Ordered the pulled pork double cheese burger and scallop shell. Both tasted delicious. For cafe hoppers, this cafe is definitely worth a try. Most cafe foods usually only look pretty- can guarantee that the food here taste above the average cafe foods. But with the price, I might as well visit a restaurant and have full big meal

The best coffee in the area. The barista very professional. French toast was perfect with chocolate+strawberry gels and fairy floss on top. Food came on time and service from the waitress was very welcoming and friendly. Definitely will come back to try more!

first time to this cafe. the atmosphere is nice. the food is great for photos! šŸ“øšŸ“ø coffee is ok but not my kind of cuppa ā˜•ļø unfortunately. šŸ˜ this place is extremely busy on the weekend as there is always a queue around lunch time.

Creative yummy food with nice presentation. All of the dishes here are very photogenic for sure! Very good customer service and the environment is very airy - covid safe!!

Food and value: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Atmosphere: 4/5 Had the chimichurri pasta. It is a prawn linguine with avo sauce. The prawns were crisp and fill of flavour, as were the pasta and the dish in its combination of flavours. The avo sauce was at times a bit rich and overpowering. Overall, nice atmosphere with music playing and I would come back occasionally, however it is slightly on the expensive side so that's why it is occasionally.

Food in here is always amazing and beautiful looks. Fast and friendly services. Price is way too cheap comparing to other fancy cafe. Must try "tako inkkie ", black ink pasta with grilled octopus.

We were waiting all of lock down for this place to open. I am glad they did!! The big kahuna breakfast was so filling and both of our taro and red velvet latte was amazing. Good ambience with tattooed up dali featuring on the wall. Its quite conveniently located near Chatswood station as well.

If you're looking for food that's Instagram worthy and tastes just as good as it looks, Chimichuri is the place to be. Food: We ordered the "Black Benedict" and the "Fried Chicken Burger". The "Black Benedict" consisted of two squid ink buns, squid ink hollandaise sauce, poached egg, coleslaw and soft shell crab. The flavours were well balanced and the poached egg was perfectly cooked. The "Fried Chicken Burger" consisted of a perfectly crumbed fried chicken with the perfect amount of coleslaw. I am usually not a fan of coleslaw but this is an exception. Additionally the chips with nice and crunchy with the perfect seasoning and a side of tomato sauce. There is always room dessert. I highly recommend the pannacotta. It was light, not too sweet and garnished with fresh fruit. To tie the meals together, we had a taro and red velvet latte, both were very smooth and not too sweet. Although the drinks will wash away the black bread bits stuck between your teeth, some toothpicks would be really helpful after the meal. Overall, the portion and quality of the food is worth the price. To top it all off, the staff were very polite and attentive. Marcus (assuming he was the cafe owner) was a very chill laid back guy who seems to really care about the quality of the food and the customer's experience. The great customer service really makes a huge difference. Location: Street parking is very limited. We parked in the westfield carpark. Its probably a 15 minute walk from the westfield carpark or a 5 minute walk from Chatswood station. Cafe nowadays are popping up left right and centre. The overall quality of the food and the great atmosphere of Chimichuri makes this place a hidden gem of Chatswood. Thank you to Marcus and all the staff at Chimichuri for making the trek worth while (we're from the west!). We will definitely be back soon to try the other items on the menu.

Finally! A quality brunch place in Chatswood! Whoever is running this place obviously care about their food. Not only great presentation but excellent flavor

Awesome food, awesome coffee and staff are nice and friendly! The cafe has a great feel overall, so I would recommend this spot first to anyone looking for a nice hangout or for a place to eat in Chatswood. Check it out for sure.

We have been there 3 days in the row with friends and baby and received the worst and arrogant service we have ever experienced! The girl at the front counter was so rude and has lots of attitudes! Believe me even if the food is good but hospitality mind is low then I shall say goodbye now! Pity the average reviews are great but Iā€™m so unsure about it! 2 stars is even too much for that! Flower Child or Elbow room are very much nicer if you live locally.

It's always been my favourite place to visit after gym so I have invited friends who travelled 60 mins, to try out. Ordered green bowls from the menu but quinoa served much less than it used to. We settled on long bench and I ask if I can have some fresh papers & Asian waitress seems reluctantly placed seasonings on table next to our sitting with bit of attitude, and no eye contact either (the pace is not even full, still have empty tables in half Cafe and there is 3 waitress, so she was not been left alone). Not impressed by the Sunday service at all and feel sorry to my friend made effort for such service.

What a great place. I've always wanted to try this place out and randomly stumbled in today without realizing where I was.I finally got to try the red velvet latte and it was absolutely amazing. Like drinking the cake! Delicious! And what great hospitality! The owner Marcus is soooo lovely. He sat down chatted with us for almost an hour. It was like catching up with a mate! Great place with great atmosphere. Cannot wait to go back!

We went here two times for their famous big breakfast (the "Big Kahuna")... the food is very nice, the coffee simply amazing with a very very nice barista and also the service including managers and everyone are very professional and amazingly kind! We felt very special! good job guys!!! Totally recommend!!! ļæ½

I had the mac n cheese which was two thumbs up! Cheesy, full of chorizo, pulled pork and plump mushrooms. Simply delicious! Green Power juice and flat white were good too. Service was spot on. Highly recommend! See toespose on instagram for photos and more details~

My favourite place in Chatswood. Coffee is good and food is interesting. I like the music they play. There is something nice about the space too.
Doris Lo
Food is pretty good. Great spices on fries and food, pricing is reasonable. Red velvet drink tastes like a $7 warm strawberry milk... french toast was very dissappointing as well.
Adrienne Roxas
Exceptional food on offer, exceeds expectations on both taste and quality. I've had their pulled pork sub and signature red-striped croissant with maple bacon (don't remember the actual names of the dishes) and both did not disappoint. They have a curious selection of drinks on offer too so if you're feeling adventurous give the tumeric latte a go! Friendly, happy and courteous staff! Location-wise it's a 10 minute walk from Westfield carpark so don't despair if you can't find parking on the street or don't want to pay for 1 hour parking! Just a note, it gets a bit chilly in there due to the season so bring an extra jumper or two. Taking my sister along tomorrow for a 3rd time around šŸ‘… Chimichuri - give it a go, it's flavour country.
Natasha Wong
Easter Sunday we came here for lunch, and we picked the chicken burger, piggy mac and black benedict. All exceptional dishes. Well presented and yummy. We'll be back for sure. Thankyou for the friendly service ļæ½
Candace Wicks
Honestly the best French toast I have ever had. The red velvet latte is devine. I am officially a regular. Looking forward to my next drive in for some Chimichuri ļæ½

Loved the drinks here, got the green matcha latte and coconut latte.

For the food, very generous serving sizes. Ordered the big kahuna and seared scallops.

Taste overall: 4.5/5
Value: 5/5

The food was good however it took over 30mins for a panna cotta to arrive whilst customers who came in after us got their dishes already...
Wendy
One of the best tasting coffees I've had in a while šŸ˜ā˜• The flavour was very strong and not watery at all. The earl grey latte was also super good, although just a little too sweet.
The food was bomb! Definitely can say chimichurri lives up to its reputation.
Tempted to come back just for the coffee, even though I live really far from Chatswood.
Peter Kang
Ordered the piggy mac n cheese with black benedict along with two coffees.

Food came out first and coffees never came. We asked for our coffees and were told there was a printing error on the docket and they would make it for us again. We asked them again during the meal and got the same response. As we finished we asked a third time. As we waited we asked a different waiter a fourth time. We walked to the counter and found that our coffee order had been placed in a queue and was still waiting to be made.

Definitely disappointed with the service here. I understand there was a printer error but not receiving our coffees during the entire meal doesnt seem fair.

I discovered this cafƩ on Instagram & had to try it. Me & 2 other friends ordered the Black Benedict, Scallop Shell & Chimichuri Eggs.
My order was the Black Benedict & it was so good, the black hollandaise sauce was a bit weird because of the colour, my lips were black & some were stuck on my teeth but it could be wiped off with a napkin easily but still tasted like hollandaise sauce.
The shift shell crab was so crunch, the poached egg had the yolk ooze out perfectly & the salmon roe gave it a nice finishing touch.
The Scallop Shell is what I really wanted to try but my friend really wanted it so I decided to go for something else so we didnā€™t have the same dish & she said it was really nice, the eggs had a gold taste and cooked perfectly. I guess Iā€™m just going to have to come another time and try it for myself.
The last dish was the Chimichuri Eggs which were good, basic breakfast/brunch food but still tasted good.
Our frappes were Green Tea Matcha, Red Velvet & Taro - these were made so well, not too sweet but not bland either. It was not sickening and went well with our order.
Overall, I would definitely recommend and I will be coming back to try the Scallop Shell
8/10

Quiet and hidden place located in the hearts of Chatswood, they make awesome chorizo rolls and it's fresh! The server is super friendly and it has a nice vibe to it.

A nice cafe with interesting and filling dishes.

šŸžSignature french toast ($21)
šŸ„Lick my bacon ($19.5)
šŸ„—Big kuhuna ($22)

The toast was pretty good. I enjoyed the fuity flavours with Nutella flavours. The fairy floss added a lot of sweetness. The syrup tasted really good with the croissant and contrasted nicely with the bacon. If you're hungry, get the big kuhuna, it's a hearty meal.

Sweet Rain
ordered the black benedict and inkkie and for drinks got the red velvet latte and green matcha latte. everything was perfect. came on a very rainy day but it didnā€™t ruin the outdoor setting and was very comfortable. the aesthetics of this dish is beautiful and was one of the best squid ink pastas i have tasted šŸ‘šŸ‘
Viseat Sydney
Nice ambience and great food!! I would recommend black benny and inkie. Scallop croissant is also amazing. Try their earl grey latte.
Jessica
Cute little cafe. Food is presented promptly to the table and the presentation was quite thoughtful.
Ish
Food was nice, fresh and creative. The price is reasonable considering the quality and the attention to details. Very much instagram ready food. I would say there was a bit too much bread on the black Benedict - well I just left the top bit... no big deal.

Service was nice, staff was friendly.
Nan Wu
Pana cotta, French toast, burger
The environment at chimichuri was amazing.
Everyone was so welcoming and just made the overall vibe really nice. The food was your typical brunch food at a reasonable price. I would recommend this cafe to others. šŸ’“

The portions were big and really really delicious!!

I checked out this cafe last weekend. It was my first time exploring the Chatswood food scene!

I was pleasantly surprised by how close the cafe is to the train station - it definitely makes the trip more convenient. There was also no queue when we arrived so we were seated quickly.

I ordered the seared scallops which came in a croissant with scrambled eggs, spinach and herbs. My friend recommended the dish so I decided go try it.

It was tasty and filling but I personally donā€™t love the taste of scallops so I wouldnā€™t eat it again. The portion size was decent so if you are looking for a choice which is satisfying and different to typical brunch dishes then I suggest this.
Erika-Anne
Black bennedict was awesome!!^^ But I ordered salad but somehow it took 40-50min to be served.
Betterresult
Attentive service, was greeted upon arrival. Tried the croissant, scrambled eggs and scallops combo dish which was nice, tasted like cake (I think the scallops ups the price). Iced mocha was not that great - strong at first then watery once ice melted, no coffee taste.
Excuse Me Waiter
Chimichuri is an unassuming cafe hidden away at the bottom of a commercial building in the less frequented part of Chatswood (away from the shopping centres) with an unique Latin American and Asian fusion menu. We spotted it driving by one weekend and stopped by the next weekend for a group lunch and enjoyed the fresh flavours on offer in a laidback setting with some interesting murals as a backdrop.

This place used to be good. Seems like its run by a new Chinese owner.
I went with a friend and each ordered coffee and food, my meal came out almost instantly and although presentation was nice, was cold. Must have been a mistake that was sitting around they decided to serve. The other meal came out when I finished mine, the ahi tuna poke bowl was extremely mediocre for the price. Coffee was mediocre also. When paying the bill, the staff asked me how was my meal, and just as I was about to tell him about my bad experience he gets interrupted by other staff, turning away from me and doesn't bother to listen to feedback he asked for. Won't be coming again.
Hidden gem tucked away around the corner from Chatswood station:
Great food
Great coffee
Great service

Can't ask for more ā¤ļø

Real rating: 3.5/5 (Food 4/5, service 3/5)
All their dishes are presented very nicely, especially the French toast and pannacotta. I love the chips here! So crispy and seasoned very well. Service was very slow the last couple of visits and they seem to always forget a dish. There was one waitress who was always impatient and unfriendly. The other wait staff were great though.
Daniel Han
Food is nice and fresh, looks as appetising as the taste. I went in thinking presentation is the key, but the food really is as good as it looks. Got the Truffle eggs Benedict and coffee, not the cheapest brekkie but definitely a great experience. The staff is kind as well, expect to wait a bit for the fresh food but trust me, it's well worth it. Definitely will revisit.
Meowktail
Nice open cafe with wooden interior - a short walk from the station. Staff were attentive & average wait time for dishes - Burger was decent, Soft shell crab black bun was okay though probably missing some sauce to tie the flavours together - the dish is quite heavy for brunch
The Sydney Brunch Blogger
Such a great vibrant atmosphere. It was quite busy though the service was good. The food was delicious and had perfectly poached eggs. Definitely worth a visit.
CW
Coffee's ok - hot but didn't quite pack a punch as I'd expected. Menu's quite fattening (!) but looks amazing. Had the Lick me Bacon and one of the blackboard specials (eggs benny with a japanese twist). Both were really good although the scrambled eggs with scallops and burgers looked amazing too!

It's been constantly dubbed as one of the better cafes around Chatswood. I can see why (not being a north kind of person). Wouldn't mind coming back and the green tea and taro lattes looked good too.
Gdkf
Very intriguing menu. Great atmosphere! Food was very tasty. Coffee was also nice. Creativity to boot. Worth the time and visit to Chatswood...even if youā€™re not close by. I would recommend!
Pinicolada
Their coffees are very average. Lining up to order and collecting my drink is confusing the multiple times I was there. Points for nailing the rustic feel.
Foodgal
One of my favourite brunch spots in Chatswood. In fact itā€™s the best place to have brunch in Chatswood(forget about flower child). Love their squid ink pasta INNKIE!!! Food always tastes amazing here!
Benedict Uy
Met up with a friend in Chatswood and she decided to come here. The menu isn't huge but the items are interesting. Tried the taro milk tea which was alright, I found that flavour a little too subtle.

We had the breakfast burger and the Black Benedict. Both were in black buns and were really tasty. The burger was on the specials board instead of the menu and had sausages and hash browns. The Black Benedict was a soft shell crab egg Bene. We also had the French Toast for dessert. It was delicious and filling. It even had a small tub of Nutella. There were also other items which looked interesting like the panna cotta. We also noticed afterwards about food items on their instagram like the croissant with scallops.

The food here is quite nice and the portions are decent. It is a fairly small cafe with a few tables overlooking the road. Service was really friendly and on point. I can see why this place is popular.
Bunario Wang
Must try!!!, having brunch in small cafe at Chatswood, soft shell crab with calamari ink is the best, for omelette is fine. 4 star for food, 4 star for service.
Layla
Had been to this place before and this time I ordered take away.
The chips is highly recommend, It would be the best chips I had for the last whole year.
The black chicken burger is also inspiring
Latteme
Service is five stars but the food is a little bit average. The food is nicely presented but lacks a little bit of taste. The Wagyu burger was with raw mince which tasted a little funny. Ordered the soft shell crab burger last time, nothing spectacular but looks nice in photos
Jess Ngo
Chimichuri is a really great place for breakfast, brunch and lunch. The staff are amazing and Iā€™ve been there twice. The servings are generous and the money paid is very much so worth it. The soft shell crab burger was amazing and the Latin Avo were amazing to eat for lunch and breakfast. The staff are super friendly but the place can get pretty busy.

Chimichuri is located away from the main centre of Chatswood so it is a little bit of a walk but itā€™s not too bad. The cafe is small but it makes good use of the space with also an ā€œoutsideā€ dining area with multiple tables. Customers are able to see into the kitchen and the food is not badly priced.

Overall I would love to go here again brunch.
Linda
While travelling in Sydney.... we visited this place and so very thankful that we did. It was quality!!! The service - humble, patron oriented and prompt. The coffee was well made and the beans were fresh and nice. The food was exceptional. Creative, elegant, fresh, well balanced and delicious!!!! A massive win right here.
Agatha Lee
Neat little cafe tucked away in the corner serving very impressive looking food. Staff are very friendly and coffee was great too. Food tastes great but definitely more amazing to look at for the two dishes that we ordered. We will be back to try their other dishes and desserts also look amazing and they serve everything on their menu all day (including desserts).
Food W/ Soph
I ordered the famous black benedict. I loved the squid ink hollandaise and charcoal brioche bun with the soft shell crab. All of the elements of the dish perfectly complemented one another to establish an all round worthy meal. I am excited to try the sweet side of Chimichuri such as the panna cotta.
Miss_foodie_au
Loved this cafe! I tried the recommended 'Scallop Shell' which was scallops with scrambled eggs, that was served in a house made crossiant. Also tried the bright blue butterfly pea pannacotta, with blueberry coulis & red velvet meringue. Both were beautifully presented and average value for a Sydney cafe. The coffee here was decent. Service was good and efficient. Will be back for more.
Cindy Tran
This cafe is little hidden gem in the heart of Chatswood. These dishes are all definitely instagram worthy, but I found my black benedict a little lacklustre in terms of seasoning. A great effort on the idea though! My friend had the scallop shell which I had a little taste of - I think I liked that better than my meal.

We both shared the french toast together but I wasnā€™t really a fan of the chocolate and lychee combination. Chocolate is such a decadent and potent ingredient compared to a sour and sweet lychee - the two confused my palate to be honest but I thoroughly enjoyed the french toast itself without everything else. I wouldnā€™t really order it again, I regret not ordering the panna cotta, but this wonā€™t be my last time visiting this cafe.
Vanessa
Totally love the food and coffee at this cafe. I specially bought my Kiwi friend to this place because itā€™s a really good brunch place. Will definitely come again and recommend it to other people.
Barry Goodwin
When recently visiting Sydney and staying at Chatswood had brunch, the Lick my Bacon was excellent and the big breakfast was massive and delicious, coffee excellent and staff very good. Will go again next time in Sydney,

Iā€™m not near Chatswood and the visit to try this cafe was worth it !

Impressive colourful creations !
Their French toast and the red pear are their most famous options if you look for images on instagram.
But donā€™t forget to try their savoury options.

I will include a picture of a burratta plate they used to have but Iā€™m not sure if they still include it in their menu now. This was my favourite ! I needed to show you that picture so you can look at that explosion of colour !

The pear is beautiful but the French toast is say tastier ! I need to come back to see what new options they have :)
Eat Eat Eat
I came here when it first opened, and it was AMAZING. Today was my third visit in a long time, and I was pleasantly surprised that the food was still so great.Ā I ordered the Latin Avo, and although looked simple, the flavours were complex and worked really well. The bread surprisingly was also one of my favourite components as I find some cafes have really hard toasted bread (sourdough).....Ā I also tried my friend's dish, the Veggie Mac & Cheese, and this was so hearty and yummy as well. Presentation of both dishes was great.Ā
Coffee is great, and they also do a range of lattes such as Red Velvet & Coconut (????!!).Ā
Overall, I think I'll definitely come back again to try more of the dishes! It seems like a cafe that really pulls off the creative menu.Ā Service: 7/10
Ambience: 7/10Food: 9/10

Great place!! Itā€™s kind of hidden in chatswood but it was still quite busy when I got there. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and food was served fairly quickly! A little pricey, but you get what you pay for. I got the tuna poke bowl; across is the squid linguine. The fish was a little bit salty but the lemon and other veg counteracted it. The squid linguine was a bit sweet somehow?? So putting some salt and pepper on it fixed it.
FrenchieFoodie
Amazing little cafe hidden on Help St in Chatswood. I went there once to try out the food and then I understood why they are always busy.. food was amazing! The platting up is perfect and the my longblack was just how I like it. Keep up the good work guys! I recommend the French toast ( Iā€™m french )
Linda
Came here last year so this is a really late review but I still wanted to say how Chimichuri is a really nice place to go to. The food was amazing and beautiful, and so were the drinks offered. Though, I wish the seating area was a bit more spacious, but its not a big issue for me. Its a little bit on the pricier side but, I would love to come back again.
Xiaoguniang
Went there on Sunday morning and had a great time
The big breakfast is really big. I like the bacon.
The soft shell crab was delicious too.
The French toast was too sweet for me but it looked beautiful.
Lucia Guo
Nice food - pretty and tasty! Friendly staff too. We ordered Black Benedict, pull pork roll, scallop and wagyu beef burger. They all come in huge portion. Great place to meet up with friends and share food together!
Doitforthefood
I ordered the Latin Avo which was beautifully presented (so were all the other dishes) and also very filling. The french toast looked super cute, but also very sweet so I'd only get it if you have a sweet tooth! The lick my bacon seemed quite heavy (with bacon, halloumi and hash brown) but my friends really enjoyed it! (but also struggled to finish it) Overall, we all left very satisfied with our meal!
Mulan Zhong
Delicious, fast service and unique. Tucked away in a quiet corner of Chatswood it is a small gem with a calm ambience. Their red velvet latte was just the right amount of sweet, and came in no time. Their signature black benedict with soft shell crab is amazing. Despite looks, it is easy to eat, appealing to the eye, and the flavour is there. I later used left over sauce from the bun with their battered fries and it worked a charm. Highly recommend.
Mauyeeyee
Tried one of their signature dishes, Black Benedict. It was the most appealing egg benedict dish I have had. Golden battered deep fried soft shell crab with runny centered poached eggs, salmon roe & house made black hollandise made with squid ink to coat the egg in glossy black served on a black brioche bun. Everything was cooked to perfection, although the black hollandise sauce wasnā€™t as creamy & flavoursome as hollandise sauce should be, but for creativity-wise & presentation-wise, Iā€™d give 5/5. šŸ¤©

As for the sweet-savoury combo, Lick My Bacon did not disappoint. A red stripped croissant sandwiching thick cut bacon, haloumi & hash brown. The maple syrup on the side for you to drizzle for that sweet/salty sensation. šŸ„°

Excellent presentation of food. Staff is attentive & efficient. Price is on the high side but itā€™s still worth a visit for people who seek instaworthy food. šŸ˜™
Our Flower
Althought prices can be quite high considering the amount of food you get, the quality is still quite good and the food is quite delicious. Although, I would argue that the presentation is a lot more pleasing than the actual taste of the food.
Depending on what you order, portions can vary and can only be eaten by one person. For example, the panacotta is very small.
Besides that, foods and drinks have a distinct and unique flavour to anything I've tried at other cafes and the overall experience was positive.
Chimichuri is definitely worth a try!
Tram
Chimichuri is definitely an instagram friendly brunch spot with a great selection of dishes to select from.

We ordered Yellowfin Tuna Steak and Lick My Bacon. The halloumi and maple syrup made my dish super amazing and full of flavour. The thick cut bacon was crunchy, just the way I like it! It was busy when we arrived for brunch, but service was pretty quick.

We couldnā€™t find parking on the same street of the cafe, so we parked at the next street.
Dee
The food here were not what I had expected it to be, the presentation looked nice and the staff were really friendly but the food that came out were pretty average and has little to zero flavour. The soft shell crab was really bland and it had little sauce in it, same goes for the wagyu burger. the pasta however was really rich and creamy,

Their Mac and cheese was really good though
Feeding Sydney
Been here twice already. Food is plated beautifully and very instagramable, Taste was average. Staff are friendly and the place is always packed though itā€™s on a low foot traffic street.
Panda Lover
Nice service and instagram friendly food! We went on a rainy day with no queues. Ordered the salmon taco and black Benedict, really enjoy the subtle flavour! Dishes were beautifully presented, very creative. Coffee was good. The mango milk shake was ok but not too sweet, which I quite liked. Feel healthy and fresh eating here.
Luxx Food
I cannot believe I havenā€™t come across this place before?! Iā€™m in love.. food was the best breakfast I have had giving this place a 5 out of 5. I would defiantly revisit any chance I have. Such nice staff and the places ambience is so relaxed. Love it!
Aileeasy
怐A nice small cafe with yummy soft crabs怑

I love soft crab very much, since you can eat the whole crab, very convenient and yummy. There are two Benedict eggs, one white, one black, which makes the dish very ins friendly!

Vegetable and Tuna, very healthy dish, there are corn and peas as well, very nice in color. But I like Black Benedict more.

Thatā€™s my favorite coffee, here is quite good. Now I need two coffee everyday to make me stay awake.

Worth trying! Hope you enjoy your meals here.Haha I drew my favorite dish here.

ā–ŖService 4/5
ā–ŖFood 5/5
ā–ŖAmbience 4/5

Great, artistic brunch place in Chatswood. So close to the station, with lovely indoor and semi-outdoor areas, we love the vibe in this place. Although one of the waitresses was quite unfriendly, the others were all highly pleasant. We ordered their version of Big Breakfast along with the Piggy Mac bowl. The pasta bowl was absolute heaven šŸ§” So filling, cheesy, and so much fillings -perfect comfort food. I was quite shocked at the size of their big breakfast too, which was great!

Highly recommend šŸ‘Œ
You might want to come early to avoid the queue. We came at around 12.30, it was busy but lucky for us, we didn't have to wait long for a seat šŸ˜Š

Wow this place was amazing. Ambience 9/10, service 10/10.

Although the panna cotta took ages to come, the waiters made up for it by bringing a FREE red velvet latte, followed 5 minutes later by another FREE taro latte. The signature Black burger (with the soft shell crab) was a little on the oily side. If it was less oily, it would have been a hit!

Would definitely recommend this place, itā€™s tucked away off Help St, which is right next to Chatswood station and is super convenient. The lighting unfortunately wasnā€™t great, however the heaters were super great, especially during the chilly winter ā„ļø.
Angiet424777
I guess itā€™s a bit better than average cafe in terms of presentation and creation. But apart from that, the taste wasnā€™t worth me for checking out. I wonā€™t be going back especially with the negative service experience. Staff(maybe owner) wearing cozy jumper and ignored you raising hand over the time. Ordered dessert A served B and have no apology for that.
TD
The food here is quite average for its price but still tastes great. The squid ink pasta was the highlight of the meals and the red velvet latte was very interesting. All of them came in relatively large portions, so it was a very filling meal.

The pana cotta was amazing. It was just the right texture and the right amount of sweetness. Highly recommend.

The french toast is insta-worthy, however, it did not taste as good as its looks.

Overall, good food. But quite pricey.
LifeLoveSydney
Cafe latte was yummy and so was the French toast!! My friend had the soft shell crab burger - she said it was average. My French toast on the other hand was delicious!
HANGRYHUNGRY
Decided to pop by here for brunch! The food was average, not really worth it for its price. However, the portions are big! But the food wasnā€™t outstandingly amazing. Althought the presentations look good. The food was ok. Havenā€™t been back since.
High Tea Queen
Ordered:
1. Cappuccino - really good coffee
2. Pulled pork roll with extra baked beans on the side - the pork had a very smoky taste profile which was too strong for my liking, but if you love strong flavours and love to eat meat, then you will love it here. Their baked beans are amazing, one of the best I have eaten, fresh and full of flavours , I really should just order baked beans and toast next time. I asked for the egg to be well done and they succeeded in serving that this time. When they first opened, I ordered well done poached eggs and they couldnā€™t deliver it twice, Iā€™m glad they can now
3. Big breakfast - the star ingredient was corn and baked beans
4. Vegetarian macaroni - bland and not much flavour, avoid this dish

Will I go back: yes for their coffee and baked beans

I've been here because of Instagram. This place was very popular for cafe hunters. Good ambience and good quality of foods. Price is not too expensive too. The owner was very attentive and friendly too. She gave us a complimentary dish of dessert. Which is $18 valued. Just only because she need us to try her recommend dish. I definitely back here again for sure.

Went here again for the second time arround for this month last sunday (29-04). Location is very convinient. Close to my apartment. Food and staff are lovely. Tried a different dish Piggy Mac it was great. Morethan I expect. My partner ordered the first dish that Iā€™ve tried and the known signature dish Black Benedict.

Only downside here is the lack of aircon but apart from that, I cannot really fault the food or service here. Staff are friendly and food is beautifully presented and tastes greatšŸ…šŸ…šŸ…

Price: 2/5
Taste: 3/5
Service: 4/5
Decor and presentation: 4/5
Visits: 3

Individual food reviews with the photo

Chimichuri is conveniently located near Chatswood Station which makes it great for catch ups. Portion sizes are small for the prices they charge but you generally leave full. Food is presented beautifully and comes out relatively quickly if the cafe isnā€™t too busy.

I'd heard rave reviews of this cafe for the longest time and being in my area, I thought to give it a go. Unfortunately it was a huge letdown. There was unripe fruit in the yogurt making it really difficult to eat and the portions were tiny. One of the redeeming factors was the coffee but aside from that, there's better cafes in Chatswood.

The food looks great but the taste is another story. I tried the french toast, soft shell crab burger, calamari, and pork mac&cheese. I think their food is on the mediocre side but i think their mac&cheese is quite unique. The color itself is not orange like the normal one, but its gray and the cheese is not too overpowering.

Went there for the new dish ā€œSnow Ballā€, unfortunately it was sold out however the waitress gave me a complimentary main dish and a dessert which made me less disappointed. Services was good and the food is absolutely amazing. Will go back again for the snow ball.

Very creative and interesting food, fresh and tasty. Coffee were fine but Iā€™m not recommend the signature taro and green tea, too much powder and sugar. Also just to warn everyone if you want to try the black burger bun, your will have green poop the next day!!!hahaha~

After having had this cafĆ© saved in my list for quite some time, I decided to finally try it out and was so glad I did. The staff greeted us as soon as we walked in and we were seated immediately. I ordered the Latin Avo (+ bacon) and I couldnā€™t fault not one thing. The bread itself was amazing, the corn was juicy, the bacon was crispy and the generous serving of avocado! most cafeā€™s provide one poached egg, but I was surprised to have gotten two! Was almost in a food coma after, but the good kind. Highly recommend this place for brunch.

The food and service was phenomenal. Staff were very friendly. Food came in good portions, I ordered the big kahuna breakfast and it was so good. Will definitely come back.

Food was good and presentation was fantastic. Prices weren't too bad either, considering the generous portion sizes.

To be completely honest, i think the soft shell crab burger was slightly overrated. Although the individual elements (the crab, the bun, etc) tasted good, I'm not sure if I liked them together. The fried chicken burger tasted so much better.

In terms of ambience, the cafe interior decor was very nice. Unfortunately, we were seated in a covered public area, just outside the cafe, due to the lack of inside table space. This was quite disappointing. The ambience wasn't so great where we were sat and we were happy to leave when we did.

Overall, it's a cute cafe and I wouldn't might coming back sometime.

Lovely food, nice and rich- presentation was lovely. Location is convenient and easily accessible! The service was quick, and easy. A great place to sit and chat with friends~

The presentation looks good but for me the taste is overrated. The portion is a kinda too much and in terms of price itā€™s a kinda expensive. For me itā€™s not worth it

Had the soft shell crab Benedict, pannacotta and one of the specials which had pork belly in it. I thought the black Benedict looked better than it tasted and the pannacotta was a little too sweet for my liking. The pork belly dish was hands down the best dish we ordered as the flavours complemented each other really well.

Vegan friendly? 2/10

Not really any vegan options that we could see offered however the regular food they have is incredible!

Service is amazing and so is the vibe/atmosphere. Placed outside its great with the breath of fresh air and greenery.

Coffee is great too! Not our ā€˜perfect cupā€™ but itā€™s definitely a 9.5/10. They know what theyā€™re doing!

The squid ink pasta had an amazing balance of flavours, salty, sweet- DELICIOUS, great textures too.

Definitely worth a visit, their pancakes look lovely. Boyfriend will be trying them next time he visits, I hope they bring some vegan options to the menu!!

Lots of Room for Improvement

Having been a local cafe-goer for the last several years, my wife and I thought we should give Chimichuri a go given its relatively high rating. On a quiet Thursday morning, just before the morning coffee rush, our impression of the establishment was initially good. The place was already half full and a line of business people eagerly waiting for their coffees and quick bites.

We sat down and studied the menu, and decided to order the Wagyu Double Cheese Burger (from the new menu) and Lick my Bacon (from the 'old' menu). Below is a breakdown of our experience:

The Service
We noticed that the service was lethargic and lazy, considering that the place was nowhere near full capacity. Requests of tap water (not frozen) was brushed aside until a second request was made.

The Food
Wagyu Double Cheese Burger - The burger came with: thick double cheese-infused beef paddy, mushroom, greens, and tomatoes with a side of chips and tomato sauce.
Experience: The beef paddy was poorly seasoned. In between bites of bland ground beef was the overwhelming flavour of cheese and oil, no doubt a generous quantity was used during preparation in an attempt to retain the juiciness (albeit bland) of the paddy. The mushroom and greens were stock standard in both flavour and texture, nothing too fancy. However, the brioche bun was far too dry and was evidently aged in storage. This was later confirmed when we saw the signature squid ink buns sitting on top of various ovens, and storage spaces open to air, drying up while waiting to be ordered. The chips were in fact the most enjoyable part of the whole dish.
Verdict:Ā Overall a good attempt, but they've missed the mark on the preparation of every ingredient.

Lick my Bacon - Croissant with cheese omelet, a generous piece of thick bacon, canadian maple syrup, and hashbrown.
Experience:Ā Upon arrival, we were surprised at the generosity of the strip of bacon we received. It was almost as long as the plate it came in. However, that was the only pleasant surprise about this dish. The thick sliced bacon, being the signature ingredient of this dish, has disappointed on two fronts: The bacon was far too salty, even with copious of Canadian Maple Syrup (which by the way was extremely washed down with water), to the point where it was no longer enjoyable. The texture was also far too dry, as I suspect the chef may have relied on the grill a little too much. The croissant was bland and ordinary, a little on the dry side. The most surprising ingredient was the cheese omelet (?), the texture and taste was a weird combination at best, and it resembled an overcooked egg. Last but not least, the hash brown was definitely overcooked and much too dry.
Verdict:Ā Overall I would recommend reviewing the composition and preparation of the entire dish. It certainly does not do bacon any justice being prepared and cooked in this way.

Conclusion:
While our experience can be rated as poor, at best, the saving grace was the sincerity of the owner seeking feedback from us. I believe Chimichuri has a lot of potential as it no doubt placed significant effort into designing their menu. However, a lot needs to change before I will revisit this establishment.

The food is very average. Service is so slow that we've waited more than 30 minutes. And the staff there is arrogant. Not coming back anymore.

Nice cafe in an unassuming location, the service was friendly and efficient. Had the red velvet latte to start with, it was delicious and well put together.

Decided on a tuna steak, it was well cooked however a little dry, also the person who cooked it put a lot of salt on the top, I couldn't eat a third of it. Perhaps I came in a bag day as it looks fresher in stone other people's photos.

The food was really nice. Lick my Bacon was my favorite. The maple syrup naturalized the salty Bacon and halloumi. It also helped to enlighten the flavor of the whole dish. :)
I prefer gold tumeric latte compared to the red velvet latte as the latter tasted a bit milky. Will definitely come back again to try other dishes.
Feri Phang
The food was really nice and but the taro latte wasnā€™t really strong flavour as I feel abit milky. And always love with their service. Definitely will come back again

I highly recommend you try out their Black Benedict dish during your lunch break. It was absolutely delicious! It's big, filling and is worth the money.Ā
I also had a try of their matcha latte, and it was a great combo to the Black Benedict dish.Ā

The staff were very friendly and the interior design is very lovely. Definitely will be coming back here again!

Finally I made it to visit Chimichuri for breakfast after constant hype and big talk on social media about the food. I was excited, order Garlic Prawn with Chorizo thingy, guess what the garlic was tasting good but somehow entire thing was JUST warm. I was half through and it was absolutely cold. Dint really enjoy.
Fried chicken was ok except the bun was super dry.
Also both had to had avo in them none of them had!!! Not the staff informed about it.
Lick my bacon was the disastrous item, thick bacon with salty halloumi. When you are serving two super salty nature products in a dish you should know to balance them.
Quick advice cook the bacon in a right way, glaze it with maple syrup instead of giving on side. Get rid of the brine by multiple wash before serving the haloumi.
My personal experience was bad bad bad. So much hype about food but disappointed truly.

Cosy cafe tucked away in Chatswood. Nice and quiet location away from the busy noise around Chatswood. Bring a group so you can try everything Chimichuri has to offer!

I saw some pictures of food from this cafe on Instagram and thought i have to come and try this place! I came here with my friends around 2:30 pm and it was pretty busy. We ordered red velvet and taro latte and some meals. It didn't take long for food to come out. All of the food we ordered looked really nice just like pictures we saw online and tasted good. The staff were friendly, helped us took a great photo of me & my friend šŸ˜Š

Chimichuri is a Latin American-influenced cafe in Chatswood which garners huge publicity lately with a series of innovative twists to typical brunches. The industrial-like open space design of the cafe features an unmistakable Salvador Dali artwork and a minimalist stripped back interior.

I ordered a couple of their morning favourites including a mango and shaved coconut smoothies. Served with shredded almonds, the smoothie attempted to choke rather than quench my thirst.

The quirky Black Benedict, a certain soft shell crab served with poached eggs, salmon roe and black holladaise, disappoints with two dry and rough buns and fully cooked eggs. The ingredients appeared too dissociative and an uncomfortable marriage of convenience. The soft shell crab was hideously overcooked and stripped off any tenderness and succulence.
@KeraBearEats
For an exciting Latin American brunch experience look no further than Chimichuri. They've got the exotic food, the Zest-iestĀ coffee, and a giant mural to greet you as you walk through.

Recommendations: The Black Benedict, and the Poached Pear.

Black Benedict... Yummy!

Cuban Melt....delish!

French Toast .... OMG! Your eyes šŸ‘€ and camera šŸŽ„ will eat before you. Guaranteed!

Coffee by Zest.. worth every zip!

......Was the highlight.

All those items I mention above was Instagram worthy dishes.

Tuna steak was a little let down, frozen tuna is used and not so much flavour developing on this dish.

Never knew this place existed. When I looked online, the options on the menu looked very different than your conventional breakfast foods, which prompted us to come and try it out!

The waitress let us sit and wait for our friend in the cafe, which was very nice of her.

We started with Taro latte and Gold tumeric latte, it was a bit sweet but not entirely bad.

We got their signature black benedict, who knew you can have soft shell crab for breakfast! It was crunchy, flavourful and went very well with the coleslaw. Except since everything was stained black, it was a bit hard to see what i was eating.

Jasmine got the lick my bacon, it is thick cut bacon with hash brown, haloumi and croissant. The whole dish can be a bit rich, but each component was very well done.

Friend's Pana cotta was also very full on, and looked delicious.
Will come back for lunch if in the area.

Lovely decor and very attentive service. We went at 10.15am on Sunday for brunch and sat at an outdoor table where dogs are also permitted outdoors (we will probably bring our dog next time as we love to take her with us whenever we can). Has a great vibe even though it isn't located amongst other eateries and it's nice sitting outside watching the cars go by. Its a place where you could just relax with good food and coffee. Our 3 year old son could run about around the ground floor area of surrounding office blocks while we waited for food. We had the Black Benedict and mac n cheese. Son loved the mac n cheese! Black Benedict was nice but the brioche bun was slightly too chewy but the soft shell crab was crunchy. Has great selection of hot drinks (I'll try the coconut latte next time) and cold smoothies. Chumi churi serves familiar food but in different unique ways which is great. Its great to have a place like this at the help street end of Chatswood. Loved this place will definitely return back.

Located in the "quieter" side of Chatswood, away from the hustle and bustle on Victoria ave, chimmichuri is definitely my new to-go restaurant in Chatswood.

Although the black benedict is the dish to order for the Insta, flavour wise I would recommend the Cuban melt and Mac bowlšŸ‘Œ

Verdict: belly like! A easy brunch location, it's a no brainer.

Been seeing the foodies promoting this cafe on instagram. Their dishes look amazing through the foodies' lenses. Not only they look visually appealing but the flavours are on point. We had their stuff calamari which was cooked to perfection, I also found the chorizo was just nice, not overly salty which was surprising. Also ordered their signature soft shell crab with squid ink brioche. Wow this was extremely tasty. Crunchy crabs with fresh coleslaw, soft poached egg, could not fault it at all. Nothing special with their drinks, ordinary taro latte and mango smoothie.

I have been here twice and totally enjoyed both my visits to Chimichuri. On both visits I ordered the Black Benedict, since soft shell crab burgers aren't that common and I enjoyed it so much the first time. All the different ingredients went together so well and I am a huge sucker for runny poached eggs! Also had a taste of the soy taro latte and thought it was super.Ā

This cafe is great for catching up with friends and the service is very prompt and friendly. I also loved the decor, and most importantly, the food, and would be happy to come back again.
