The manager promise me free coffee over Facebook.
She introduce me to a new barista... and boy he felt the pressure.
The blend is Crompton Road from 5 Senses, the 1st flat white was almost next to perfection, with a Chocolate elclar opening, with melting caramel in the body.
I was offered a 2nd cup, and I asked for the the same coffee... it blew away, only because the milk texture was better than the 1st, it has the same flavor's, adding the coziness of a liquid cake.
No doubt the Turkish Delight cappuccino by Sasa Sestic from Canberra stays on top of my list, but I never really enjoy a good cup from 5 Senses (particularly 40 Hands in Singapore), looks like this invite seems to be a worthwhile visit after all.

Always on point with coffee, food AND service. Ive no need to go anywhere else when I’m in Chatswood
Lovely people and the coffee is great. Interesting menu, never disappointed.
Food was great but the best part of the experience there was the staff were actually friendly and attentive towards us, something that's lacking a lot now n days at other places :D
Super friendly staff, delicious eats and always my first option for coffee when in Chatswood. Love it here!
Love these guys. Not only creative and artistic displays of food but it's friggen delicious! I come here every weekend and it's what I really look forward to! Service is impeccable, the owner is a legend too!

First time here but food was incredibly fresh and delicious. The service is outstanding & friendly which seems to be rare these days. Definately returning again.
Best coffee in Chatswood consistently, staff and management rock my world.
Best coffee in chatswood, best eggs benedicts in Sydney and this place is in my top 5 cafes in Australia!!!!!! Their great food is matched by their coffee which is complemented by their fantastic customer service.
Good coffee and very good breakfast choices. Now I'm eager to try the lunch menu.
Was starting to think I would never find a great cafe around Chatswood. Love the food and coffee here! They even have cold drip!
AMAZING coffee, great food, great staff, great service.
A chilled space for conversation, coffee and great food. A fave spot for a Chatty local.
found another favourite brunch cafe! serving sizes are decent and filling
Ordered:
1. French toast - love the fruit inclusion, I did not use the syrup at all as the dish itself is sweet enough from the fruit. Potion size is perfect.
2. Mexican breakfast - great tasting
3. Cappuccino - good coffee
4. Ice mocha - love the inclusion of the choc ice-cream and Oreo biscuit, a very fancy ice mocha
Will I go back: yes
Not the biggest fan of their coffee here - not saying that it’s bad but their coffee just doesn’t fit my palette. I really like their matcha flossy though! It’s matcha latte with fairy floss!
food was good overall; i got the mushroom on sourdough dish and the mushroom was a bit bland but other than that it was pretty good. it does take a bit of time to come out. also i recommend their iced almond latte, perfect coffee to milk ratio!
Staying in Chatswood for a short visit and needed a tasty breakfast and coffee. Both delivered! Friendly staff and fast service. All beautifully presented too and well priced. Would definitely recommend.
Friendly staff, aesthetic food BUT also tastes extremely nice
The matcha fluff cakes were really good actually
Not overpriced and it was a short wait
Yummy food and good price! Really enjoyed the food and coffee at a sunny weekend morning. Recommend to all. Early arrival to avoid the crowd. Would definitely come back sometime!
Out of the box menu! This place surprised me with there all day breakfast & lunch menu. I got the matcha ice cream pancakes that sent me to taste bud heaven. Don't get me started on their dark horse coffee blend. Highly recommend
Elbow Room Espresso is a great brunch spot in Chatswood that is sure to delight. Just located near the exit of Westfield Chatswood, the small cafe sure pulls a good crowd. The staff are friendly and approachable, helping building a warm atmosphere.
We ordered two iced chocolates ($5 ea.) , Salmon Eggs Benedict ($18) and Smashed Avocado ($19) from the breakfast menu. Both were delicious however on the pricier side regarding portion size.
Overall, a really nice cafe - perfect for chats and in close proximity to the shopping district of Chatswood. 😊
Great Coffee & well priced meal, Hog Dog is amazing combination of Chrizo, sauce, egg. It just works. Salmon Baquette about average, nothing special.

Felt like some light brekky this morning so ordered a simple scrambled eggs on sourdough with mushroom on the side, nothing too fancy but I loved soft texture of their scrambled eggs. Highlight of this morning would be the "Organic Sticky Chai", it is deliciously spicy but smooth and not too strong, I'm sure I'll definitely be coming back for it again!
Remember it's cash only, so bring your $$.

Visited here on a Saturday morning at around 11am and had no issues getting a spot for 2 people.
The service was good and the food came out really quickly.
The food is not the most amazing but it was still very tasty. All of the dishes were simple but done well.
We got the avocado stack and the wild mushroom and herbed ricotta.
The avocado stack was full of flavour and the flavours were really well balanced. Given that I am used to smashed avos I was expecting there to a little bit more avocado that what was served.
With the wild mushroom and herbed ricotta dish, I was also expecting there to be more ricotta in the dish with it being one of the ingredients in the name. A thicker layer or chunkier layer would have just made that difference.
The chai latte was nice too but nothing special.
The best waffle I've ever had!!! The best waffle I've ever had!!! The best waffle I've ever had!!! I will definitely come back for the waffle.
I’ve been wanting to share this lovely cafe with you guys in a long time so here we go! Elbow Room Espresso is located near Westfield Chatswood, which isn’t too far away from the station at all, just a 5 min walk, so if you are living in Sydney or close to the North Shore, definitely go visit someday! And I’m gonna tell you why right now!
A nice cafe outside Chatswood Westfield with plenty of brunch options. The service staff were great. The dishes are relatively simple but super delicious. The baked beans and grilled haloumi is really good and filling dish but my favourite will have to be the avocado stack with haloumi and beetroot hummus. I tried also the egg royal (scrambled eggs with smoked salmon on bagel) which was also really yummy.
The coffee is also really great. I had the matcha latte with shot of coffee which made a nice sweet and bitter drink. Service staff were great and pretty fast too. Definitely my favourite cafe/brunch spot in Chatswood!
Great music, great food, best coffee in Chatswood.
We always come here on a weekend morning, and you cannot beat the coffee - rich, full, strong coffee. The owners are lovely too.
A very popular coffee joint in Chatswood, and with very good reason. Having both good coffee and a relaxing cafe atmosphere is surprisingly hard to get right, but it's something that has become one of Elbow Room Espresso's trademarks.
True to it's name, it can be a little cosy here at peak times. Although it's not long until seats become available, it's also easy to just grab takeaway and sit in the seats in Victoria ave or Westfield.
Love this small cafe that is in the centre of Chatswood. I really wish they served food till later though especially for people like me who like slightly later brunches.
I've always enjoyed the food here and I've already come back four times! Their menu is constantly changing which can be seen as a good or bad thing but there's a few dishes that are permanent such as the eggs benedict which is a must-try (they use brioche bread)!
This is the perfect place for a quick brunch fix and I can't really say anything bad about this place. Anything that has their wild mushrooms is delicious!
My favourite place to have coffee staff is always so friendly!
Great little cafe. It's been a while since my last visit and they have a new menu, with a new version of French Toast. I loved their previous version, so was keen to try this one to compare. The new Stone French Toast, is brioche based, quince, coconut mousse, berries, pecan & maple syrup. Sometimes a brioche french toast can get a bit too heavy, but this one was just right, as it wasn't drenched in the syrup, and also nicely offset by the quince and berries. Flavour wise, I'm not a huge fan of coconut, but it was ok. Overall, a nice sweet breakfast offering, and their coffee is good too.
This place is my favourite coffee place in Chatswood. They are running coffees from Five Senses and guest coffees too!. I really like to have many choices of my coffee :-) I really like this place.
Just got a takeaway skinny latte and bottle of water. Staff were nice even though it was a busy period. Latte was medium warm (better then a lot), able to be drunk straight away.
In short: Best coffee in Chatswood, contemporary and tasty menu, adjacent to Westfield mall, great service.
Chatswood has always been the retail jewel of the North Shore with its twin malls in Westfield and Chatswood Chase. Outside of the malls though, the streets have been less than alluring with a mish-mash of stores and offerings. The cafe culture has had a reboot or two, but remained grounded in mediocrity. With the rejuvenation of the theatre precinct and makeover of Chatswood station, there has been a transformation of the foodie scene, and literally overnight, the area has become a destination for great fooda. The District and Hawker Lane Foodcourt are examples of the injection of quality eateries and adds to the already great Asian fare in the area.
Was a great experience, food was quite nice. The hot dog was fantastic, but the other sandwiches were quite disappointing, it was very dry.But overall, it's a very nice place to eat and worth trying. But not sure if I'll go there again...
Recently started working in the area, and being a serious coffee snob have conducted a deep exploration for the best coffee in Chatty.. This place is definitely #1. Beans are excellent and baristas know what they're doing. Highly recommend. 👍
Good coffee every time, we get a coffee from there almost 3-5 days a week for almost 6months when we used to work in the area. The food is average but you are spoilt with choices around there anyway. Service is mediocre, we prefer it when the Korean owners are there. The young waitress could be a little on the "rough"side so we tend to avoid her if we can!
Finally made it to the Elbow Room, last time I tried to go, there was a wait for tables. The food didn't disappoint. A friend and I shared the breakfast tacos - so tasty. I had a cold drip coffee, love how they served it - very creative. The staff seemed quite pushy to take our ordering coming back five times to see if we were ready to order...
What can I say? I am a sucker for matcha! So whenever someone post something about a new cafe offering some kind of matcha desserts (another bonus point to get me going) I will run out to get there first! This matcha French toast doesn't disappoint I am telling ya! Not too sweet at all! So won't...

Came here especially for the green tea french toast! It was good :) might need to come back for other things on their menuu.. The service wasnt the best but doesnt matter as long as what they serve are amazing ;p
This is usually the place we go for a good cup of java when we are in chatswood. The staff is amazing and the vibe is really good.
The food is average and little pricy but it doesn't matter because the coffee is so good.
I come by here once in a while. They have seasonal menus and the food is delicious! Great coffee also. They have a nice variety in their menu. The food is worth the price! I enjoyed the pancakes both times and the chorizo hotdog is amazing. Friendly service too! :)
Coffee is the best. More mentally stimulating and less physical 'side effects' than the rest of the joints here in Chatty. Good for computer type work if you are doing that.
Super happy to find this place!
Good vibe, lovely staff, super yum food!
I had the baked beads and halloumi breaky. Has to be in my top 5 breakfast dishes in Sydney for sure! Loved every bit of it!!
Can't wait to go back. 😊
Food was great! Had the baked beans and grilled haloumi and would definitely get again. Kinda tasted like pasta, not really bolognese but some sort of tomatoey pasta sauce. Highly recommend :) The coconut chicken and green mango sandwich was pretty good too but could do with a little improvement on the coconut chicken. Optional chili flakes are an amazing amazing addition though. The drinks were the cold drip and Egyptian iced tea. The tea was quite an interesting flavor but probably not something I would get it again. Very enjoyable little cafe in Chatswood that would be a great spot for locals to visit on a regular basis. Quite busy so may be a bit of a wait during peak times.
This is another cafe that's good for people watching especially at the bar seats. This is my favourite brunch place on my days off. The food is generous in portion size and very good value for money. The coffee is also decent here. The eggs Benedict would be one of my staples here, it's always beautifully presented and very satisfying.
I love this place since the first time I have their Salmon Bagel (they have new menu now - salmon bagel is no longer there)
Green Tea French Toast caught my attention the moment I saw it on social media.. As a matcha lover, I'd definitely put this on top of my list! The french toast was lightly crisp and golden on the outside while stayed moist and fluffy on the inside. Served with tender grilled banana, poached pear, green tea ice cream, mochi, pistachio and matcha dust, this toast would be my favorite if only they made the matcha taste stronger (way too subtle for my liking)
Mushrooms and eggs will never go wrong no matter how they're cooked. Served on toasted sourdough with rosemary and pine nuts, the eggs were perfectly poached and together with juicy mushrooms they became a perfect breakfast pair..
Their house-made granola is a good option if you need something light for breakfast as it's lightly toasted with nuts and dried fruits and topped with natural yoghurt and red wine poached pear..
This is definitely my 'go to' for coffee in Chatswood. I've eaten here twice and whilst the food was good, the coffee is the lure for me. They use 5 senses for their standard brew and showcase other roasters on a rotation basis. An excellent way to try different beans. And always made beautifully by skilled baristas.
Another eatery which I only had one dish at - having been able to fight the urge to order absolutely everything in their glass cabinet of baked sweets and goodies. Service was slow and difficult to get a hold of but the lime pork tacos was worth the wait - Asian spiced pork with a tangy pickled slaw, creamy avo and sour cream and finished off with a lime mayo. Admittedly messy to eat (being a soft taco, the contents inevitably surged out the end of the taco with the first bite), but the textures and mexican-asian flavours melded together beautifully and it was altogether a very flavourful and tasty dish.
I recommend their orange chicken salad if you're after a refreshing alternative to your usual salads the chicken was very tender! Would definitely come back for food, but not for coffee as the few times I've ordered one it was either a little bit burnt or the soy was slightly curdled.
Off the main boulevard in Chatswood, Elbow room has lots to offer in terms of both food and coffee. The French toast is sweet and refreshing, with cinnamon mascarpone to cut through the otherwise sweet meal. We always get the chorizo hot dog but I actually prefer the pork tacos which are only available on the lunch menu. Also a great salted caramel shake on offer.
Elbow Room Espresso provides a nice injection of the very much loved inner west brunch scene into Chatswood. Their selection of beans and the different coffee extraction tools that line the front bench indicates that you're in for a good coffee. It's not just about the coffees here either with an all day breakfast menu that always leaves me so indecisive
If you are looking for the best cafe in Chatswood that demonstrates the massive benefits of providing a continuously changing menu of guest roasts, then you have found it here. On a side street behind Westfield, you wouldn’t really expect that much from Elbow Room Espresso, but you’d be mistaken. As a coffee snob, I love coming here as I literally never know what I am going to get. For many cafes you’d likely (rightly so) see this lack of consistency as a negative. In this case, while I am not sure that the coffee I am drinking will be fantastic (though it is more than not), it will be interesting.
Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon ($16.00). One of the best eggs benedict I have had in Sydney. Perfect combination of layers of spinach eggs and hollandaise sauce
Elbow Espresso is probably one of my favourite cafes in Chatswood and I would definitely bring my friends here. The coffee was decent, the food was fresh and delicious (and damn good-looking)! However, the service was lacking since there was only one waitress and barista holding down the fort. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay! Unfortunately, it was only the two of us so I wasn’t able to try out their extensive menu so my judgement might be skewed because of this. While Elbow Espresso isn’t exactly mind-blowing, it is a worthy all-rounder that doesn’t have any particular faults. Definitely going to go again to try their Korean tacos and bruschetta!
When we arrived, we were fortunate to come across a spare two-person table and promptly ordered...The milkshake was awesome - there is a distinct peanut taste in the choc milkshake and heaps of salty pretzel bits mixed into the drink, which gave it a crunchy texture (at least before the pretzel drowned for a while and became soggy). Accordingly to Moose's Digest, the Green Freak tasted better than the green smoothie from Element 6 (it certainly had less froth!). Then came our food... The highlight of the dish was the grilled asparagus, which were individually wrapped with prosciutto, and the eggs were poached perfectly with an orange gooey centre.
Is this the picture of perfection or what? An eggs benedict stack of brioche, wilted spinach and ham topped off with two poached eggs, hollandaise sauce and pomegranate seeds - a fabulous idea to add that pop texture and complement the hollandaise
The green power was a juice jam packed with healthy-sounding ingredients - kelp, spinach, dulse seaweed and alfalfa were married to apple, passion fruit, plum and lemon. Though it's indeed very green, I could mostly taste the plum/ apple combination. All vegetable flavour was pretty much annihilated by the sugary sweetness - not a bad thing if you're looking to indulge, but not great for anyone trying to minimise their carb-intake!
Loved it. Good coffee and the humble bacon and egg roll was fantastic. Service was quick and efficient for a Saturday morning.
Apparently reviews now need to be 140 characters long.
Great food, coffee and service. I've been to Elbow Room twice in two weeks and it's a nice change from the other "typical" cafes in Chatswood. Get the green freak smoothie - it's a bit steep at $8 but yum! I ordered the eggs benedict both times, once with ham and once with smoked salmon. It is meant to come with pomegranate so I was a bit disappointed when I got quinoa the second time.
The coffee is good too and my husband says their steak sandwich is one of the best he's had in Sydney! The downside is that instead of chips, they come with olives... which is a strange choice. A side of hot chips would definitely make the meal!
Service is great although the kitchen is a tiny bit slow. Can't wait to go back to try the french toast.
French toast. Just
perfect
Dare I say one of the best cafes in chatswood. It's hard to find a decent one, serving fresh food presently like art on a plate, great coffee and decent pricing. Refreshing ingredient combinations on their menu.
The only negative, sitting is limited and uncomfortable if your sitting on the slope outside
Yumm. Ordered Eggs Benedict- it was delicious! Gluten free friendly too which is always a plus!
A great example!. Upon multiple visits I have always experienced amazing service, tasty+well presented meals, great tunes, beautiful coffee and a killer-good price range.
Don't skip out on their eggs benedict with pomegranate pulp!
Chatswood's best gem ;)
Attentive service, nice coffee, ballin Chorizo Hot Dog... This place is tops! ^^
Best in Chatswood. Great coffee. Great food. Great service. This place is money well spent.
