When I first came here, it was almost past lunch time, so it was not very crowded.The ingredients are fresh and the taste is good.
Carbonara with coffee. The coffee was about what you'd expect from a typical cafe, nothing to get worked over about. The Carbonara was delicious. Creamy sauce and cheese, how lovely! Best of all, it was pretty cheap as well. I'll definitely come back in the future.
Jam packed on weekends, perhaps due to the blackouts? Not sure, why wouldn't it be though, delicious fine dining level food that's neither the portion nor the inflated pricetag of it.
The set menu is pretty worthy given the pasta itself is already $24. Available Sunday to Wednesday. Personally I feel the coffee at the bottom layer of the tiramisu is too strong. But the staff is lovely and helpful there. Definitely will visit again!

The lobster scrambled eggs were good although it had cheese in it. I personally don’t like cheese. The lobster tasted good. You can also smell the cream in the croissant. I am not a fan of cream neither..
The sausage spaghetti was delicious with ample sauce.

Lovely location that is easy to get to and has a nice, chill atmosphere. Got here around 6pm and we made a reservation in case the place got packed but surprisingly it wasn't that busy at all and had a couple of tables free. The staff were very friendly and quick, and the food came out surprisingly fast, around 10mins. Great price for the dishes they serve and especially since the pasta is made in-house. Would definitely come back to get my fix for pasta :D.
Bruschetta - 4/5
The bruschetta was a great starter/side with the freshness of the tomatoes and herbs balancing well with the main dishes. Great quality ingredients used makes it a really solid and delicious bruschetta. Bit messy to eat though as the tomatoes were falling and sliding off but couldn't be helped I guess haha.
Lobster Bisque Tagliolini - 4/5
Decided to treat myself with this since it was my birthday. The sauce was creamy and silky and had a lot of depth of flavour in it whilst being quite mellow. The capsicum helped to cut the creaminess of the bisque with its strong, distinct flavour. The flavour of the tagliolini itself was able to come through and worked well with the sauce. However, I wish there was more quantity of the pasta as I've seen other photos by other people who had a noticeably larger amount of pasta than what I got so that made me feel like I got cheated out on a bit.
Strawberry Pannacotta - 3/5
A strong, flavourful strawberry puree on top with silky, creamy and smooth pannacotta below paired well together as onw would expect. Though, the puree at times was overwhelming. Nothing extraordinary nor bad about it. Might be a little pricey from some people as it was $7 for the amount you get but I don't regret it.
Lost in Venice - 4/5
A simple, elegant drink that was well balanced and the basil and lime made it really refreshing and easy to drink. Not much one can say about a drink haha.
Delicious, the food surpassed my expectations. Before Spago the Italian cuisine in Chatswood had been very lacking and unimpressive. The serving size for the dishes are just right. The only fault would be the garlic bread, which was just a large piece of sourdough with olive oil and a tiny bit of garlic concentrated in the middle.
Otherwise the service was good and the price was appropriate.
This is a pretty good place for pasta and coffee. I had the Salsiccia (Italian sausage, chilli and napoletana sauce) which was pretty good with a good amount of sausage as well. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the take away wait time was good as well. Happy to come back and try their other dishes.
The pasta was al dente!! It was extremely delicious and flavoursome and it’s true to Italian restaurants. The service was exceptional and will definitely be coming back for more in future.
Great coffee though must remind them if one wants it pipping hot. It wasn’t warm enough for our liking but we were famished

I went there twice, and never got disappointed. The food delicious(see photos below). The wine list is not too big which is a plus, I don’t like big food and drink menus. Overall it’s not pricey at all. The service was excellent, GUYS if you read that review, keep your staff! I will definitely come back. ++
Stunning Place to have Italian pasta. Can choose own sauce and pasta to match.
Love the Saffron one with lobster meat and caviar. The sauce is just amazing. I love the saffron flavour.
The creamy bacon mushroom is nice as well. Classic and easy recipe but so tasty.
Fried chicken is crispy and juicy. The sauce is mixed with blue cheese. It’s not too strong. But so unique.
Tiramisu is homemade, very heavy texture. Prefer with bigger portion. Lol.
If you are a pasta enthusiast, this is the place for you. They offer a wide range of pasta dishes and all their pasta is made fresh on the premises, just like their other outlet in Beverly Hills. This venue is more casual with vibrant eye-catching paintwork & contemporary look. 🙂
Handmade pasta, paired with rich, creamy sauces & fresh ingredients, can’t go wrong with that. Other food like Lobster Scrambled Eggs from their breakfast menu, the texture of the egg was soft & creamy, that’s how I like it. The bisque was flavourful and was balanced with the avruga caviar & confit cherry tomato. Would prefer the croissant on the side to be more toasted for extra crispiness. 😌 Grilled baby octopus salad had a generous portion, great for sharing. 🙂
Great pasta at a very reasonable price. I recommend the signature pastas if you want something fancy or the traditional pastas for something simple. The great thing about this place is that for each pasta flavour you can choose from up to 5 different pasta types (e.g. spaghetti, penne, fettucini, etc.) which is not common. They also have a breakfast menu which means you can come here for any meal of the day.
Nice Cafe, with fair prices in the centre of Chatswood. I ordered the Pollo pasta with fettucini and an ice coffee.
There are a good variety of flavours to choose from, where you can select what sorts of pasta.
The staff are very friendly, and food arrived quickly, my only let down was they gave me the incorrect pasta first time round, but it was resolved immediately.
Would recommend for small groups or dates.

Chatswood so needed a place like this! Have lived in chatswood for years but there are just too many asian restaurants.. and we were looking for something different. Finally a breath of fresh air!
The pasta was al dente with just the perfect 'bite'. The bosciola was creamy and seasoned well. The squid ink pasta was from their specialty menu and it had a bit of chilli but not too much heat. My hubby needed to add a bit of salt but that's what the seasoning on the table is for. My son pasta (can't remember the name) was delicious and also had a bit of chilli (which he can also eat). Had the tiramisu which was layered well with just nice balance between cream and sponge.
Service was great and attentive. We had a 5.30pm booking (because.. kids) and by 6pm it was almost full (still had the window facing bar seats available). It's not a large restaurant but a nice size which still provides great buzz provided by the street. It has a great outlook to the busy Victoria Ave intersection. Kid friendly too!
It was priced well and for the quality of food and great service.. what more could you ask for? My hubby and i both agreed this is a place we would return to again (and he is usually pretty fussy as he is quite the foodie). Thumbs up thanks Spago!
One of my favourite Italian restaurant in Sydney. Such a cosy and lovely restaurant. Food is delicious and well presented. Portion of the food is very generous, and the price is reasonable. Service is quick and staffs are super friendly. Will definitely come back to try more dishes. Highly recommended.
Awesome restaurant. We wanted to try the wagyu risotto but it was not available, and they made us the mushroom risotto for a change. It was delicious (bit small on the portion, but it is pleasantly filling). We also ordered the wagyu porterhouse, again so good. Pannacota was average in my opinion, but definitely come back to try the pasta.
We really enjoyed the truffle pasta with the 68 degree egg. Generous serving of truffle. The carbonara was mmm and who could go pass the shoestring fries with truffle oil to soak up the sauce.
The pasta dishes here are great and may not be traditional Italian, the quality of food is still pretty good. Dishes are very filling and good value.
We ordered the lobster risotto, squid salad, duck breast and a side of fries.
During lockdown they do a great job at packing the food, was still reasonably warm after taking it home.
Spago has been my new place to go to for quality pasta. The staff are truely hospitality people who always make customers feel special. They are very attentive and food are always made with quality ingredients. This is the best pasta place in my opinion.
Such a good place! The service was incredible everyone was so nice and welcoming. The food was also very good, although I don’t recommend the fries they tasted like a nail salon so save your buck on that. Other than that everything else was very good and I would highly recommend!
