Review Sugar 'n Spice - Chatswood

We were going to go for high tea but after reading the negative reviews decided to just go for lunch. We weren't disappointed! I had the chicken and broccoli crepe which was delicious, filling and came with a generous and tasty salad. My daughter got the kids mac and cheese which was the best I have ever tasted. My only criticism was that it's on the expensive side, e.g. a bowl of chips was $11. Other than that, the food was excellent and the service was efficient and courteous. Will definitely be back!

I have been here before several years ago but yesterday's visit was not as good. I ordered an Asian inspired rice noodle salad with prawns the rice noodles were so undercooked. The entire salad was just pretty terrible with bits and pieces of random vegetables chopped up. The taste is just strange. All I ate was my 6 prawns and that was all. I must say it did look good so I took a picture of it. Just really disappointed that the taste did not match the look.

Good service. Coffee is on the bitter side but is lovely when you have it with their Ice Cream Croissant. Chicken salad is good with portion and volume. Will be back to try out other desserts.

Feeling a little delicate, and needing a nice cup of tea, I wandered into this store in Chatswood Chase. And what a surprise! Green Tea delivered in a China pot, with a fine china cup and saucer. Real tea leaves, not some bag left dangling out of the side. A delightful experience, real chairs and tables. My new go to place.

Abysmal high tea experience. I found it to be incredibly overpriced for what was essentially soggy sandwiches, bland cakes and stale lamingtons. All the sweet food felt like it had been frozen 2 days prior and thawed. What was the saving grace was their range of T2 teas, however we could only get one pot as whenever we tried to ask any staff for more we were ignored or forgotten (there were only 3 other small tables occupied). As a cafe, probably decent, but for "high tea" definitely not.

We haven't been here in a couple of years as, in the past, we regularly patronised here with my mother-in-law who passed away. Not much has changed though. The service is just first class. The lady that served us we knew as she formerly worked in another cafe and her magnetic personality and her service make the dining experience more enjoyable. I think that her name is Honey. She is very efficient and attentive, no need to try and get someone's attention for another coffee. She is right there checking if there is anything else that you need. We had the fish and chips, the seafood crepe and the cheese burger. All were delicious. What I didn't look at was the specials board because I would have ordered the beef stew special. We will be back!

As usual a great experience. Decent breakfast menu and great tasting food all round. The crazy shakes are fun but too sweet for me (and I'm a sweet tooth). One of the few places in Chatswood that sells decent crepes.

Have come here twice and was no disappointed with the quality of the food and rink. Was able to see everything made fresh in the kitchen and the effort included was impeccable. When you walk in, the employees make you feel welcome and treat you with the uttermost kindness and respect. One flaw however would be their pricing for such simple food anyone can make it home. Besides that, the atmosphere and food was great!

Their coffee here isnโ€™t that great. It always tastes quite burnt. Their prices are quite steep for the quality.

Great restaurant! Large variety to choose from, from drinks to dinner, brunch to desserts. I love the kind and happy environment and the fact that there dishes are interactive and unique. Great service and lots of dining space. The location is right next to a carpark making it very easy to access. Definitely recommend this place!!! ๐Ÿ’—

Price: 2.5/5
Taste: 3.5/5
Service: 4/5
Decor and presentation: 4.5/5
Visits: 1

Disclaimer: Booked through Groupon
Having never had high tea before, as a first experience it was pleasant. As it was not too busy service was quite prompt and we were allowed to switch out the champagne for tea. The food had obviously been stored and was not fresh as the pastry for the tarts was wet and the scones seemed a little stale. The raspberry rush tea smelled great and tasted good with the sandwiches. I would however, be unlikely to be back without the Groupon.

A lovely cafe and Very good value for money. They have nice stuff and delicious food. scones are hot and fresh. Milkshake is the best in summer and it looks gorgeous. My favourite dish is grilled Lamb with pumpkin! Meat lover

This is a really good cafe locates inside Chatswood Chase. I had brunch here and the food and cafe is definitely recommended. I ordered smashed avocado toast and fried sweet potato chips which is really good. I really like their mocha, that chocolate sauce is worth coming back for it. The cafe can get very busy at weekend morning but their service is always friendly and efficient. By the way, my daughter is a big fan of their fancy piggy cup cake and babycino.

Management is what let's this business down. They have a beautiful dining area and we'll written (large) menu, bit marketing and service aren't great. This deluxe banana bread was actually great for $8.50. would order it elsewhere happily.

Literally stumbled into this cafe, it's been a long while since I've walked past this corner of the Chase. It's tucked away in one of the side alley to the carpark, a few different businesses had been & gone, hope this cafe doesn't go the same way. The first thing that got my attention was the display of sweet offerings at the entrance. Was going to just get a sweet treat to try, but was surprised that they also had a pretty extensive savoury menu for brunch & lunch. Got the Breakfast Tartine instead, which was basically bacon, eggs, avo & tomato on toast. It was beautifully presented, taste good & good value for $12 given we're inside the Chase. Also got a chocolate eclair to takeaway, it wasn't too bad. Will definitely come back to try the rest of the menu.
