Review Pamana Restaurant - Chatswood

Yummy filipino food with good ambiance. It was my first experience and definitely will be back to try their other dishes. This place is clean, bright, buzzing and booking is necessary. Some of the must have lechon kawali, spicy sisig, afritada chicken and pork, chicken adobo, refreshing sinigang na hipon. Their range of desserts will satisfy sweet tooth and we like Truon, halo-halo and ube leche plan. Come for early dinner and other fast as the place is busy and food can take a while to come out. Short walking distance from chatswood metro as well so you don’t need to drive 🙂

It was our first time trying Filipino food and my goodness we were not disappointed! Since we didn't know what to get, we found it so helpful that they marked what was recommended on the menu. I seriously loved the pork dish - the vinegar sauce omg I just dunk the pork in there and let it soak that goodness up. Sooooooooo good.. the other dish on a hot plate was super as well and my partner really enjoyed that one too. And the squid fried rice... gee soooo good like I don't know how fried rice can look so plain but be so flavourful and delicious. I wish we went in a larger group so that we could try everything recommended on the menu! The portions are HUGE as well, and the food was still so good (if not better) the next day like what the heck! Loved it. Loved it!!!!

Delicious filo food. The Team Angelica Boodle fight is awesome - good presentation, big portion at good prices ($35 per head). Bookings required for the boodle fight. The a la carte dishes are also good here. Recommend the crispy pork, taro leaves, garlic fried rice. Friendly service. BYO. Plenty of seating, spacious restaurant.

Delicious! The crispy pata is the "go to" dish. All the dishes we ordered were yummy and a generous portion. We got a chicken coconut curry, baby squid fried rice and the spicy sisig. All are highly recommended. The staff are also very friendly and welcoming! You can tell they are proud to showcase their national dishes. Yes, it's a bit hard to find (go up the stairs once you reach the apartments), but it's worth discovering!

I can’t give the experience five stars as I was only happy with maybe 20% of the experience. The place is so hidden it’s very hard to find with the directions according to Google Maps. I ordered takeaway and at the time of the payment I was notified that there is a surcharge for weekend. What was I supposed to do? It’s basically robbery, I have to pay to get my food don’t I? Anyway I sucked it up and paid. The crispy pata it’s extremely overrated. I didn’t like how dry it was. Without the sauce it’s pretty much the same as the pork knuckles at Costco. They should’ve put it in the pressure cooker and then finish it off in the deep fryer. The garlic fry rice was okay, not good or bad. I could just have plain rice as it wouldn’t have mattered because the dishes were so strong in flavour anyway. The dish which I’m quite impressed was the spicy sisig. I have never had this dish before, and this dish goes very well with rice. However after the first three or four mouthfuls the excitement diminishes and the oily sensation kicks in. I would definitely go back for this sisig and have it with plain rice. BUT will pass on the pata and try not to come on a weekend.

It was my first time eating here in this Filo restaurant in Chatswood and it was a good one. Very quiet place as we were the only one eating that time and the ambience was okay. It was a little bit hidden as you need to use the stairs up and look for this one, but you can see the restaurant name on top of the stairs. The serving of food was large enough and we ordered Bulalo, Crispy Pata and Chopsuey. The only thing that I could say about the food, it was a little bit salty. Though the Halo Halo and sago’t gulaman was awesome.
