So I've been WFH for about 4 months now and while eateries are open in Sydney. I have still been careful with my social distancing and limiting my time out of the house. Mr Weekend Food Escapes and I decide for a Vietnamese lunch in Chatswood at An Viet. . An Viet is located just outside of Chatswood Westfield, a short walk from the train station. I'm pleased to see that all the tables are spaced out and are appropriately socially distanced at An Viet. I arrive at a little past 11am and there's already people in the restaurant. The decore is casual and best described as homely.
Decent lunch place for Vietnamese food, 3.5 to 4. The noodle salad is quite nice and the portion is quite big! Can have more condensed milk in the Vietnamese coffee!
Went here for dinner. Just realised there is decent and nice Vietnamese restaurant in Chatswood. Food took a while but taste was great! Friendly staffs.
Went here for a lunch the other day, it was pretty quiet maybe because i went there around 11am and it’s too early for lunch. Tried the regular combination pho and it has three different meat. They’ve got sliced beef, raw beef, and beef balls. I really like the soup as they are very tasty and a few pieces of the chopped chilies really add a little spiciness which was just perfect. It was a bit expensive but really worth it because of the taste and the portion. Definitely recommended if you’re craving for pho at chatswood
My favourite Vietnamese restaurant! Authentic Vietnamese including Bun Cha and Nem. Beer is cold, service friendly and accomodating. Decor is comfortable and atmosphere is relaxing! I love this place! Before I had to go to Marrickville to get the kind of Bun Cha I am used to from my many trips to Hanoi. Although traditionally a southern dish Bun Cha can vary from place to place but An Viet has it just right! Oh and their Pho is wonderfully tasty as well!
My new favorite spot in Chatswood! Crispy chicken was perfectly cooked and the beef pho was delicious. Great atmosphere, and the staff are fairly friendly.
Good range of Vietnamese food at average to slightly expensive prices. Rice noodles were cooked well and the pork was tasty. Service was efficient and the place was clean.
The restaurant is in a central Chatswood location and the design is very inviting. The place has a good vibe with the decor.
Service was a bit slow to greet us, but once we got seated they were over within no time to take our order. So quick that we had not even had a chance to look at the menu.
We ordered a few of the smaller dishes to share and these were efficiently served. They looked great with the vegetables offering great colour to each dish.
The betel leaves were crispy on the outside and gad good flavour.
The rice paper rolls were okay. Peanut sauce is always good.
The crispy chicken was okay. Lots of shattered bones make it a bit of a mission. Some of the chicken was fairly dry.
It’s been a while since I ate Vietnamese cuisine. I must say I enjoyed An Viet. We ordered combination beef pho, seafood spring rolls, crab spring rolls and grilled pork vermicelli.Pho was tasty and the serving was just about right. I ordered regular and shared with my mom. Will definitely come back for their pho and spring rolls.

Tried something a little different to what I would normally get at a Vietnamese restaurant. I've never had spring rolls like this before and I loved it! I got the pork spring roll vermicelli salad. I also got a lychee and mint frappe which was very refreshing and delicious.
Delicious food! I tried the the vermicelli, one with normal spring rolls and one with the net rolls which are house-made and very tasty. I also tried the pho, which is very clean and tastes great. The pho had the combination beef, but the brisket was tough so I’d recommend just the raw beef or beef balls.
Generally, very well-balanced flavours and great food. My only complaint is about getting the waiter’s attention, as there were about 4 of them talking but none paying attention to the customers.
This is the best Pho I had in Sydney!! It's just so tasty and the beef brisket is really good. The atmosphere of the place is very relaxing and it's well decorated, I will definitely become a regular there.
A very good impression from the first visit last week with my friend. The crispy skin chicken rice noodle soup was nice. Revisit this week and went with another friend. Trying their Vietnamese style steamed rice-flour roll with pork mince was so good. No wonder it is a highly recommended dish by their chef. Another dish of steamed rice- flour roll with stir-fried beef was fine. For drink, their Chinese herb Ching-Bo-Liang tastes nice in an icy way.
I have been trying many Viet restaurant in Chatswood and An Viet should be a safe place if you want some Viet food.
- Ambience: the place used to be a coffee shop and the new owner did not change much the interior design but they do put some Viet drawings bon the wall. Light is cozy and the place has aircon. The music is upstream music and doesn’t really fix with the place. I would suggest them play a nice soft Viet playlists.
- Food: we ordered just the combination beef pho and pork chop with rice. Pho broth is very tasty. The beef is a bit overcooked to me. The pork chop with rice is lovely. I love how they pay attention to detail by adding spring onion (shallot) on top which taste a bit salty to balance the rice and fish sauce. Fish sauce taste sweet and is very good. It is the traditional taste that I like. The portion is just ok. I would definitely come back to try their freshly made rice roll and the spicy noodle soup.
- Drinks: they have a wide range of drink and desert on the menu including alcohol. We did not order anything from the drinks menu but the avocado smoothie is one thing everyone should try.
