Review The Orchard Tavern - Chatswood

Haven’t been in here since late 2019… what a change to see today. Not typical pub interior but it definitely welcomes everyone and is well suited to the people in the area. Does look like it should be overlooking the harbour rather than a bus station. Menu was good before but now is exceptional, four of us in over two consecutive days for lunch…. 8 different starters, 8 different mains… everything is 10/10. Lunch menu is competitive enough to be on par with the noodles and rice offerings outside. Could almost convince me to change the hybrid work arrangement and do a Friday office day rather than a Wednesday.

atmosphere is always great here. Good to see mo:mo in chef's special 😁 still 1kg hot wings with the cheese sauce does the job for us.

Went here for dinner with my boyfriend a few days ago, and was pleasantly surprised at the service. Great drinks, fast food and a nice ambience to the place. Shaun was one of the bartenders on, and was a delight. I was scared he'd steal my boyfriend he was that handsome !

Use to be one of the best places to go to, bouncers have become so rude that honestly, good luck getting in if your young. (Literally under 25) they’ll pick you apart, be rude and kick you out over the smallest things and intimidate you. Awesome way to drive away a young booming local customer base. They lost at least 8 weekly visitors these past few months. Friday and Saturday nights are basically dead, wonder why? The young crowd is fleeing. (bar staff are lovely)

Great food, the bistro is awesome and has a fair variety of food to a high standard. Good beer on tap with a huge range. Beer can be pricey, wide range though.

I walked it after work, had a couple drinks and then was asked to leave for no reason, apparently I had too much to drink. I asked why and the lady said alcohol effect people differently. Definitely was not drunk, I could walks a straight line, speak proper sentences and still while I was on the phone she asked me to leave…

Interesting pub in the middle of a concrete jungle. Pints at schooner prices happy hour. Up stairs dinning and drinking . Not a classic pub but for a quick drink not bad.

The food was good but the customer service in this venue is appalling. Rude waiting and bar staff that need to go back to hospitality camp to learn some decent and acceptable level of manners. Treat your patrons with respect if you expect it in return. I will never go back again and to think I picked this place for our work Xmas party is embarrassing. The only thing positive worth mentioning is the location.

Great place for drinks with both indoor and outdoor areas. Pokies area is currently limited and too confined so hopefully bigger area with more pokie machines soon would give this place 5 stars. Service from the bar staff are excellent!!! Keep up the good work!

I was having a few drinks at The Orchard last night and my friend wanted to go play the pokies. We went for a quick smoke on the balcony before hand, were told by a female employee that we weren't allowed to be out there unless we were playing the pokies, so we went inside and sat down and my friend started using the machine. She then came back over to us, said we had to leave right now and hit collect on my friends machine for him because he wasn't betting high enough. Most staff are decent but every place has their awful employees, wouldn't recommend if you enjoy playing pokies

Poor customer service and the food court at Westfield makes better food. An absolutely terrible and filthy place to visit!

The Orchard is a great pub. The staff are nice and the security are not intimidating and are always fair. The way a pub should be.

Really friendly staff and feel very comfortable on every visit, hence the reason I’m a regular at this venue �

We called in for a quick dinner on our way to the City .. very impressed!! The staff were very welcoming and pleasant.. the meal was lovely ., no complaints at all .. definitely will be back !

Great place for a game of pool and some after work drinks.

I simply spend just too much time here, so much id prefer not to say. The kitchen always delivers and honestly I don’t think I’ve ever had an unsatisfactory meal here. <br/><br/>The atmosphere is great, and the drinks are inexpensive. I don’t think there is a better place in Chatswood.<br/><br/><br/><br/>

Pleasantly surprised by the quality of food. Chicken wings to start were a hit, the Angus burger was great, nice chips too. Friendly staff and a cosy, casual atmosphere. Nice job.

Ordered a haloumi salad and I got about one slices worth of cold haloumi with a small amount of avocado for $18. It also came about 20 mins after the people I was with’s food came. Not good value and wouldn’t come back.

Came here late at night to chill and had beers + snack with my colleagues. They atmosphere quite nice a bit dark. They had various of beer on tap :)

We were in Chatswood after work on Friday and stopped in at this little pub right by the station. They are in the process of renovating, so it isn’t huge, but when they finish up around August they will have extended the main bar to take up the whole top level and moved the gaming section. The happy hour drinks were pretty reasonable, we got a couple of scotch and sodas for $10, and the vibe and music were good. We didn’t eat, but kind of wish we had done, because the nachos looked awesome

Nice big beer garden out the back. Good selection of beers on tap.<br/>Pool tables and balcony at the front bar area.<br/>Good location right next to Chatswood train station. Food is reasonably okay but quite expensive for pub food. Pork crackling roll is nice, the pork is good and crunchy. Fried chicken burger is also good<br/> <br/>The Parmageddon was not great, excellent idea, but too much pasta, and the sauce was watery

As a reward for reaching target at work. We got a congratulatory lunch. We got to choose anything on the menu and there was a lot to choose. The meals were large serving sizes. Reminds me of the local at home. I had been here many times for work drinks, but found out the food is good here too.

Excellent restaurant food with pub prices. Definitely recommended. Burgers are huge and delicious.. have heart attack burger and you understand what I mean LOL!! <br/><br/>Friendly staff, good atmosphere and fantastic food. All you need? ++++

Went for a night out with the boys, drinks were pleasant, finger foods were alright, however overpriced. The pub, however, is rather old fashioned and didn't really seem all that welcoming.

Vivid Sydney at Chatswood runs from 26 May – 17 June from 5.30pm – 10.30pm. I check out the Orchard Tavern for their Vivid Special. We were on treasure hunter as part of a team building activity and Orchard Tavern was one of the pit stop.  When we got there, some team members already got drinks and a lot of pizza to award the hard-working "treasure hunters". I would say the pizza were very authentic in true Italian fashion such as BBQ chicken and Ham pineapple but they tasted not too bad. The potato wedges were good too, golden brown and crispy. The pub itself was a bit dingy and gloomy, it wasn't kind of the place you would have a night out in.

Standard pub here with a pretty decent menu (standard pub food like steak burgers etc)<br/><br/>Watched the ufc here and got nachos and wedges which was pretty good, nothing too out of the ordinary though. Service was pretty decent<br/><br/>Definitely recommend for a drink and as a hang out with friends

Really good pub feed that just got better as they updated their menu. Drinks are fairly cheap and there's plenty of areas where you can smoke. Only downside is that the eating area is quite small with only a few tables so if it's busy which it usually is on weekends there's pretty much nowhere to eat.

Big portions, decent food and a chilled out crowd; perfect selection for a Friday lunch. From the outside The Orchard could fool you as a 'tradies only' club, but on the contrary, their beer garden is a welcome open area on a sunny day, filled with vibrant patrons and a craft beer selection to boot. One of the better pubs in Chatswood - preferable to it's neighbour, The Chelsea, which looks trendier from the outside but will rob you blind once you get in.<br/><br/>They also do mulled wine in winter for $8 a pop - could you ask for a better reason to indulge in a pub lunch?

Decent food and fairly chilled out seating area. Personally think the outdoor smoking area is way to big tho. The ribs were amazing and only $22 which came with chips, salad and coleslaw great value. I'd go back again.

The lunch specials were cheap and delicious! The outdoor area was nice for chatting and chill during lunchtime. <br/><br/>Great eats: Steak, Caesar salad

An Ok Pub. They do a beer jug at 16 bucks and some nice veg nachos. The place is more a gambling spot than anything else. Difficult to findvtge entrance too

Great Friday Meal. Went here on a whim with three friends. Although some of the reviews on here seem quite negative, we had a great experience; the service was surprising quick, and myself and my mates all enjoyed the food. The serving sizes were pleasantly surprising given the price, and the $9 cocktails had as much of a kick than the higher priced ones. I ordered a drink that was off the menu and the friendly staff were more than willing to comply. Would recommend!

Orchard Tavern is halfway between pub food and a restaurant. Their entrance is ridiculous to find - a small flight of stairs facing directly opposite Chatswood train station. The restaurant is located upstairs, with an outdoor open area equipped with heaters and overhead covers, and an indoor area with the bar and comfortable seating.  When we went at night, one side of the indoor sofa area had candles with dim lighting - sah romantic! ;)  Their menu consists of the regular western pub foods like steak with chips/salad, bangers with mash, T-bone steak, ribs etc. Prices ranged from $10 - 30. A not very clear view of the bar  Slow cooked lamb shoulder with mash potato veg

...the open burger was the highlight of the trip but probably the most dull highlight I've seen in a while. I think this day-trip was a fail, however one mans trash is another mans treasure so I might as well inform anyone who's interested.

Worst pub in Chastwood. Wouldn't urinate on the place if it was on fire. Cheap meals are as described, and I won't be eating there again. This is primarily a gambling den and food and beverage services are peripheral. Chelsea bar is on exact opposite side of station and 10 times better. Monkey bar is right around the corner for a better selection of on tap beers. Even the RSL is a better alternative. Note the security on the hard to find entrance is to contain the teens that reside there at the wee hours. Plenty of other restaurants in the area, can't wait until the council shuts this place down.

Interrupted my meal to say these are the worst tacos I've ever had. Also, very slow service. However the staff is friendy enough, I suppose...

Menu changed, chef changed. One burger was cold, the rest were microwaved. They gave us a refund, which was a positive, but I won't be coming back.

Great lunch pub. I had the schnitzel burger and a cold glass on golden ale. Good, freindly service, sunny outside area.

Great pub food, speedy service and one of the Better Wagyu Burgers I've had...upgraded to the premium with Bacon and cheese...
