Review Three Beans - Chatswood

Peter Zurcher
Coffee tasted burnt… Both of them. Service was abrupt and lacking, croque monsieur had one thin slice of ham… A little stingy and seriously you need to fix your flap door so they don’t bang constantly each time your staff enter or exit behind the counter. It’s not pleasant to hear. Note: My experience here was at three beans cafe inside Westfield Chatswood - not applicable to any others.

My fav cafe for coffee in Chatswood, my usual coffee is an oat milk latte and they use The Alternative Dairy Co Oat Milk, which is one of the best tasting. Also surprisingly the coffee is always grind to the perfect level, guess it helps because they’re so busy! They’re usually open late into the afternoon when most Cafés are shut. The price is reasonable too, usually my oat latte is $5 and above, but the price here is slightly under, so you’re definitely getting bang for buck here.

I never had one bad coffee, or experience from this shop. I have only been coming here just under 5 years. Good job to the team!

Foods good , but if u order poached eggs don’t expect them to be runny , I asked if they could recook the hard hold poached egg and they don’t do runny poached eggs apparently….. And the waitress with the glasses deserves a pay rise she was so so sweet

In summary, an awful place to be don't go - detailed review below Food: We ordered a hot chocolate, a pistacchio Friand and a cookies and cream milkshake. The hot chocolate was watery and inconsistent. The friend was mushy and looked few days old. The milkshake had cookies that had been crushed but not mixed properly - hence they had gone to the bottom of the tumbler forming a mushy lump Staff: Just as other reviews mentioned, the staff are unprofessional and don't care about their work. No smiles nothing rude. Ambience: the place is in the middle of the mall with escalators on one side hence no real privacy, the tables are squished together and you can hear the next person Menu: One star for the menu as they have a number of items that are different and hopefully if done well would taste amazing. Tip: High chairs are available even though it was me who had to tell the waiter that they had high chairs at the back :?

The turkey sandwich is good and the coffee too but I also get 'staff' discount for the coffee. 100% not biased /s

The staff is very attentive , service is fast and coffee is consistenly good. However i am not too happy with hidden card surcharge. Staff will never told you about this extra surcharge on card payment.Card surcharge is fine for me but it would be nice if staff let customer know about it in advanced instead being sneaky .

I ordered a strawberry smoothie here.
Normally I get their iced mochas (which are amazing) but the smoothie was lukewarm, watery and had a very minimal strawberry flavour. This place is always a hit or miss.... they definitely lack in consistency of the quality and flavour of the drinks. Would rate it a 1 star but the staff were nice.
Sad to say that I’m really disappointed again.

Incredibly well location in right of Myers, Zara & the street level entrances of the Chatswood Westfield. Have walked passed it literally everything I'm in the centre, but have never stopped. Looking for a late afternoon cafe lunch on Sunday, most cafes have or closing for the day, they are still buzzing with people. I got the corn & zucchini fritters, it looked & tasted ok, pretty standard. The tomato salsa was ok, but would be better if it was saucier with a bit of sweetness. Also couldn't see much zucchini in the fritter, the corn was very prominent.

Good breakfast this morning. Eggs and bacon cooked well. My skim flat white was good too.
Only thing i would have to say is Presentation of food is very old school. Butter came served in a little ramekin, haven't seen that since the 80s. Nice for a quick breakfast or coffee stop.

I visited this cafe for breakfast before work. They have plenty of seating and the service is fairly fast. I ordered the eggs benedict with spinach, feta and avocado. The flavour was good but only one of my eggs was properly poached as the other was over cooked. This place uses Gabriel coffee beans and so the coffee itself was pretty good.

Half cup of cafe when delivery, terrible service with attitude , they doesn't want to delivery to table, I was so disappointed with this Cafe shop, need let more people know how terrible they are

Standard order - skinny cap takeaway. I think it was a little burnt. Quite hot when I received it and a little bitter. Nice service. Would try other options

Three Beans Chatswood occupies probably the most prominant position of any cafe I have ever seen in a shopping centre. If there ever was a supreme Feng Shui spot where all the stars align, this would have to be it. Situated literally at the centre of street level of Westfield, it's at the junction of the two main entrances to the shopping complex. Not to discredit Three Beans, but you could serve instant coffee and stale sandwiches here and it would walk out the door.

However, as with any good cafe, they never take things for granted and stick to principles that bring people back. The coffee beans are sourced from growers using sustainable practices and are the core of their brand and business and it's always consistently done by experienced baristers. Although Three Beans essentially shares the same menu with their other stores, their sandwich quality does differ. When done right, their sandwiches are well made to almost a gourmet sandwich standard. The Waldorf Chicken Sandwich at another store is made with thick sour dough, however, the bread is thinner here but the overall size is still very large. The filling is well balanced and not over saturated with mayo. The diced celery gave the waldorf characteristic but there we no walnuts like the other store I sampled, however this may have changed since the menu does only state 'walnut mayo'.

The Smoked Salmon sandwich uses Tasmanian smoked salmon that's nicely smoked and not overly salty coupled with the routine dill creme fraiche and red onions and rocket, in a grain bun, it's a well sized sandwich and measured up in quality.

The Chicken Cesar Salad delivered to the next table was massive and topped generously with crispy bacon and long fingers of toast, it's surely something to try on the next visit. A deservingly bustling cafe that serves good food and has fast and efficient service.

Nice chai latte - very creamy, milk is not too airy or fluffy, the spice and sweetness isn't overpowering. Quick service considering how busy the mall gets during this season! A great place to stop for a drink whilst doing your shopping.

Great food, decent service and great coffee! Pumping atmosphere and always busy! Convenient and well priced! Regulars now! Love it! Enough seats to go around!

Friendly and prompt service. The food was tasty and well cooked - Simple things well done. We had the pumpkin tart with salad, bacon avo cheese melt, bacon and eggs, iced coffee and an apple rhubarb cinnamon muffin. (The only thing is that they don't take credit card there.)
