Came here for the first time for a Saturday yumcha. I’d say it’s one of the better yumcha places in Sydney, and would visit again.

Good range of dim sims, served fresh and hot. Favourites were the ham sui gok and large sesame balls - the pastry was wonderfully chewy and crunchy. The pastry on the crystal skin dumplings however was disappointing - lacked the thin silkiness you’d normally expect.

Price was reasonable - we were given a 30% discount and it came to $54 for six dishes (including a $4pp tea charge). Dinner menu though is definitely more pricey (basic dishes $45+).

Went on an Thursday, was really quiet and constant food trolley staff coming to us as their weren't many people which came. The food is definitely nice which an immense flavour to all.The Shrimp dumpling however needed improvement, the skin lacked the chewiness of all other yum Cha places.Staff are nice but when they came to our table frequently it got annoying.Things here are a bit expensive and overpriced in my preference, but still nice.

Very clean.
Friendly staff.
All dishes were beautiful.
Can recommend drunken prawns, whole lobster, coral trout on noodles and duck pancakes.

been there on CNY eve.

I used to live in Chatswood for five years but never went to this restaurant, it has impression to me it will be very expensive as seafood tanks are huge, compare to other restaurants, especially those Chinese BBQ restaurants.

Surprised by its Chinese style BBQs! I mean the cha-shew (BBQ pork?), ducks and even chickens are no doubt the Best BBQ I ever had in Australia!

My recommendation is next time when you go to chatswood for some takeaway of BBQ stuffs, try this shop! It's really much better than others in Chatswood.

Star capital is my favorite Chinese restaurant - Cantonese cuisine in Sydney. Good service from the staffs, Spacious modern environment, most importantly I have never been disappointed with the food. Start off with the soup of the day, it's so warm and soothing, feels like home! The seafood there is great. Try pipies xo sauce with fried noodles base. It's delicious. Lobsters, scallops, oysters, its all fresh and yummy! Meat dishes are great too, bbq platter, sweet and sour pork and deep fried pigeon are my favorite!
Reserve room for dessert If u like sweet soup, it is very yummy!

Awesome place, great food, friendly staff. A bit pricey but worth the money and automatically pack your leftovers for you to take home and has now become our favourite restaurant

Should have heeded the warnings below and gone to a less disappointing yum cha restaurant in Chatswood which would have been slightly better. As with most yum cha restaurants, the food wasn't entirely bad as you can't really stuff up every single dish and that's the saving grace for most. Usually, the measuring stick of any YC are the staples of Sui Mai (Prawn and Pork Dumplings) and Har Gau (prawn dumplings). Incredibly both were disappointing lacking in authentic flavours and incredibly undersized. What were good were the Beef Balls, Fried Prawn Dumplings, Fried Glutinous Rice Balls.

The ambience is quite nice as their setting is elegant and the crockery a class above the rest. There's no battle of the fastest table setting here and therefore you won't hear the deafening and highly disturbing clatter of cutlery by careless waiters. In fact, those who care more about the service than food at yum cha restaurants will be happy with this place as the waiters are friendly and attentive.

Dinner is an entirely different affair where service is elevated again to a higher level and the seafood is always cooked perfectly. Prices for seafood are market price and no different to any other Chinese restaurant in the area. Lobster could be cooked two ways and presented nicely.

Trying to find decent Yum Cha's in Sydney, or in the Hills area is actually getting harder these days. Many restaurants have new managers, smaller portions, poorer quality. Was originally going to take my relatives out to the city, but since they've been there before, decided to head to Chatswood. Another day of uni skipped for food w/ relatives

As we were shown our seats, I felt reassured by spotting Cantonese locals sitting about and enjoying their brunch. Once the tea and chilli oil were prepared, it was time to eat! First off the cart was the Siu Mai , the golden poster child of the yum cha experience. Without eating this, you truly can’t say you had dim sum – simple as that

Wonderful, Amazing, Brilliant! An Experience - on every level. Ignore the reviews below. We found this was a truly wonderful culinary 'experience' from beginning to end. Modern décor and polite and welcoming staff greeted us. We were escorted to our table where our table staff were just as attentive and friendly. (Hello Wai!) The menus are beautifully designed and laid out with some spectacular and mouth-watering photography. Prices, including for wines, are all very reasonable. We enjoyed our seafood san choy bow...a welcome surprise for us non-meat eaters - enormously. It was perfectly cooked and with a sensational flavour! We followed with the aromatic Seafood and Bean Curd Hot Pot, which was incredibly flavoursome and packed with a very generous mix of perfectly cooked fish, scallops, prawns, squid, baby bok choy and mushrooms. Accompanied by the best green beans we've ever had - cooked to absolute perfection with preserved vegetables. Plus a seafood-only fried rice. We loved every mouthful and all serves were incredibly generous. Also telling was the amount of local Chinese families of all generations dining alongside us. Having eaten at a variety of other Chinese restaurants in Chatswood over the past couple of years, Star Capital is definitely our No 1. Our tastebuds can't wait to go back!

Like it, eel was very good with traditional style of cooking, dishes are nice as well, deco is excellent, even though the price is a little bit high,if u compare with other Chinese/Cantonese seafood restraunt,it definitely worthy, it has better environment, service and above average cuisines, and star capital provides lots of fresh/ live seafood such as eel, perch, crab etc. Good place for special event.

Above the rest.. Thought here we go, another one in Chatswood. Must say the yum cha is a level above others I have had over the years. The steamed dumpling burst in mouth with generous quality ingredients. The fried morsels at just as good. Just as was getting tried of yum cha this place has refreshed my taste for it. And the trolley pushers are not in your face. A stand out in Chatswood and remember you get what you pay for. After reading some of the earlier negative reviews, I found out they have new floor management in last few weeks so to those unsatisfied diners, give it another try.

Lovely yum cha location in Chatswood. Hits and misses with their services, on good days you've got endless dim sim trolloys going pass you, but bad days you will need to wait forever. However the dishes are always yummy.

One of the few dim sum places remaining in northern Sydney. We were sat in a room away from crowded common area. I was worried we won't get the dim sum carts coming by. The server assured me he would make sure we got all dishes we wanted, and we did! Good customer care. It was on the pricy side, but it seems to be the case for dim sum places.

Good yum cha restaurant in Chatswood. The service was superior to any other yum cha restaurant I had been to. Staff always checking in and clearing the table. Food was good also. Peking duck was great and the dim sum was fresh also.

❤️ Fave place for Dim Sum on Trolleys ❤️ . Food is on display for you to see and smell (additional dishes available on menu). The chinese tea quality and decor makes this our favourite please to wind down and enjoy the parade of dim sums. 🥠🥟🍡🫖

Look how beautiful this crackling pork is.. not too dry, not too dark, not too oily... leaves you wanting for more.. It seems to me, a roasting champ is working in their kitchen! But take note of their pricing, prepare for a $$$ meal.

Great place to go for Yum Cha. Large restaurant with big tables for multiple guests. Yum Cha comes round on trolleys and you’ll definitely need to make a booking if you go on the weekend as it gets really really busy - lineup out there door. You might also have to wave down the trolleys or servers some times due to how busy it gets. Ultra convenient location on Victoria Ave in the heart of Chatswood.
