Review Gelatissimo Chatswood - Chatswood

Today I felt like an ice cream. I stood after making a selection. There was no one else waiting, just myself. The closest server was busy looking at her phone. She then went to converse with a co-worker in the back area, then came out and saw me but then still left me standing there. I left. Oh well.... I'm unsure as to whether I'll ever return.

Brilliant choices and flavours - exceeded expectations. As vegans, my partner and I like to have some sweet treats to take home. We tried these sorbet flavours: Chocolate, strawberry, raspberry, lemon, green apple, coconut, passion fruit and they were fantastic. New gelato flavours included a had a fudge brownie and the other oats light coffee macchiato taste. They were superb. The lady who served us was a little shy, but helpful. It was only when I noticed the newer flavours, did I change our normal order. These new flavours were definitely worth a try. We have been here twice and will definitely come back. The ice-cream tub with 3 flavours was $15.00 each. Yet, you could have smaller portions, at different sittings. I cannot fault the quality because it is excellent. It is one of my favourite places to visit. It is definitely worth a try. I recommend this place highly.

It’s a small place but the ice cream it’s really good, the shakes are normal, I prefer shakes like kind of ice cream.

Similar to another previous poster, i have been told by the staff (she seems to be the branch manager) that i cannot avail of the birthday freebie without first making a purchase. Even after getting email confirmation from gelatissimo support that this was not required, she still would not honour the birthday voucher. She was so rude and condescending, and even told me to go ahead and call head office about it. Tara from Gelatissimo customer service has been lovely about it and very helpful but the branch staff/manager has been so dreadful to deal with that I dont plan on going back to that branch again.

The lady that were serving on the 21st of August (Asian woman with black and blond hair with glasses) was very rude and slow. She’s got attitude. Plus she wrapped my milk shake for takeaway and it was leaking soon after I opened the bag. Never will be there. Manager needs to take a prompt action to the loudest girl that made my day the worst ;((

I recently received a birthday voucher as part of benefits of being a Gelatissimo Club member. I went to the Chatswood store to redeem but was told that I have to purchase a product in order to use the voucher otherwise it won't be honored. However this is not the term and condition stated in the email of the birthday voucher. In fact I wouldn't mind purchasing something in order to use my birthday voucher but the attitude of your staff (the girl wearing golden frame glasses) was horrific. She probably needs a re-training on customer service.

They say the most special of gelatos are the one's made from fresh ingrediants to accentuate the true flavours they represent, free from artifical flavours and syrups . Sadly, this is not my experience of Gelatissimo. There were moments on seperate visits where I thought there was something wrong with my tastebuds as I could not taste some of the flavours they represent.

This was the case on this visit. I ordered a gelato classic - the pistachio and the burnt caramel with pecan. While the gelato was smooth, I was struggling to find any depth of flavour in the pistachio besides a really faint flavour overwhelmed by sweetness. That's all I could taste! The burnt caramel was slightly better but the 'burnt' flavour was missing but the highlight was the crunchy toasted pecans they had throughout. The caramel was also too sweet.

I was not content with my gelato experience so went to Gondola Gelato down the road the very next night to order their pistachio. Here, I was given reassurance that my tastebuds were not impaired and the nutiness of the freshly roasted pistachio came through each spoonful. Even if it wasn't freshly roasted, it was certain that real pistachios were used.

The only thing going for Gelatissimo is that their cups are filled beyond the brim unlike gondola where there are level; both of which are a ripoff at $7.50 for two scoops but that's probably just me.

Gelatissimo has their location to thank in Chatswood and being the first ice cream shop in the suburb also helps.

WORST GELATO IN THE UNIVERSE. How can you make dairy taste like absolute ass?? Tasted like wet powder mixed with chemical flavour. Horrible. Just horrible. If I could give a negative score I would.

Kind of regret choosing burnt caramel, couldn't really taste the 'burnt' caramel. I remember the last time I had tiramisu from here it was spot on. I find Messina to be more creamy compared to this one. The green apple sorbet was so juicy and refreshing!.

I used to like it. A while ago when I went, the service was so on point and friendly, I ended up buying a tub rather than a cone. For my most recent visit I decided to try the gelato donut, which is quite average. There was only a tiny bit of ice cream in the middle so it was mostly just the plain donut. I did a few taste tests for the ice cream, and after a few flavours (with none being that great), just went with biscotti because that's safe enough.

Delicious ice cream flavours to satisfy that cold dessert craving.

Currently, they have a spongebob

No artificial colours or flavours as their website suggest.

They serve some classic favourites like Salted Caramel, Pistachio and Mango as well as unique flavours Chocolate Truffle, Burnt Caramel & Pecan and Lychee.

The hard part is deciding which flavour you want!

I tend to go for more fruit based flavours.
