Excellent UK style cheese cake. The sweetness is not over-powering. Cheese is soft, a bit fluffy. The tangy taste really stimulates the palate. The base is important albeit being only a small part of the cake. Usually bakeries ruin this part by producing a really hard and brittle base that tastes like nothing but sugar. This cake had moist and soft base that breaks like soft baked cookies. A price of $6.5 puts it at the more expensive side for mini cakes from 85 degrees but I think it is well worth the money. Great for sharing too due to the larger than average portion. Xihuahua 🐶 must try this some time.
Huge variety of bread, sweets, slices, cakes, pastries and drinks. I bought five different breads. Firstly a sugar donut which was delicious and light. Along with a shallot bread, a sweet milky bun, Japanese bread and a garlic one. All soft and fresh.
Makes the best taro pearl milk tea in Chatswood! Not overpriced or oversweetened. Excellent pearl to milk ratio; they make it in front of you and the bread selection offered at 85° is excellent too. I greatly enjoy the pork floss buns and treat myself occasionally to one.
Been here on multiple occasions and the bread never ever disappoints!! The taro wholemeal and the okonomiyaki are shown in the photos, but they have many other good choices as well!
Popular Taiwanese bakery chain. I normally go to BreadTop few shops down, I found that the varieties at 85C looks nice, but taste a bit plain, flavours (sweet or savoury) are both not as distinct. This time I got the Squid ink pork floss bun & the Choc Snow Milky. Love the pork floss, very moorish. The choc bun was not that chocolaty, it's really a plain bun with choc powder & icing dusting on top and a scoop of light choc cream inside, taste ok, but won't get it again.

Been a regular here since they open years ago, surprised myself that i havent written anything. We must have tried almost everything (bread) they have though they do change from time to time. Personally i have no fav. Everything (bread) here agrees with me but i avoid anything red bean. Not because they are bad, only because i never liked em.

One of the better quality bread shops around offering plenty of assorted goods and cheap pricing.
Baked fresh daily with self service being the norm and a smile upon checkout always on offer
I was very disappointed when Breadtop stopped making my favourite pork floss roll, but was only too happy to find them in 85 Degrees. The first time I tried this chain bakery was actually when I was in China. The outlets in China are quite different from here with more beverage options and more eat-in space, it serves almost like an equivalent of a coffee shop. The taste of the pork floss roll was very similar to Breadtop if not better.
I also found another one of my favourite -tiger roll. It is actually mixed with taro filling, I can't wait to go back and try that.
Unlike the Breadtop a couple of doors up, 85 Degrees was still trading at 7pm on a Saturday, and seemed to be doing quite a brisk business. A staff member was out front selling moon cakes, lending the illusion of a somewhat festive atmosphere.
There was a good selection of well stocked displays, with everything looking fresh and rather delicious. Also, all quite reasonably priced. A couple of buns were purchased and were fluffy.
The cakes in 85 degrees bakery definitely stands out, their cakes are super cute, flamboyant, and over the top; pretty much like the ones you see in animes.
Taste wise: their cakes are basic, very soft, and not too sweet.
pretty decent bakery and relatively on the cheaper side too which is great. always go here or breadtop, (both similar imo, not much of a differential). favourite is the 3 sisters (taro, something and something, dont know the english names :D )
This place has a wide range of bread as well as heaps of cakes and drink. My favourite is their creme brûlée and their papaya milkshake. It's not a good maths together but separately I love them.
I love this place for the cake and drinks especially when there is a afternoon tea deal. I think the cakes are quite nice and with great varieties.
Service: 6/10
Food (Cake only): 8/10
Value for money (for afternoon tea deal): 8/10
A Japanese bakery with a lip smacking range of breads, buns, cakes etc. Bakeries like this should have a sign outside - not to be entered without adult supervision… Not being protected from myself, as usual with these places I emerged with two different types of bread (walnut and raisin wholegrain, and an out there pinky raspberry bread), taro mochi and the signature brown sugar cake made with Okinawa brown sugar. Google tells me that Okinawa brown sugar is famous in Japan for its deep rich flavour due to the sugar cane being grown in coral enriched fields beside the sea, and is used in treatment for anaemia. Works for me. We are still eating our way through the goodies but the walnut and raisin bread has been a promising start.
Love this place. They do the best buns! My favourite is the red bean. They call it red bean but it actually has cream cheese in it and it's heavenly. Takes that red bean to the next level. Not to mention the uber soft bun itself. Another favourite is the chocolate bun. Sooooo good. Not as airy soft as the ones they sell in Asia but still pretty darn good. It's soft and chocolatey, without being overly sweet. Love it.
It just a brilliant bakery. Their cakes, Tiramisu, Hokkaido and breads are just blussfull. My regular place when I am craving for a sone sinfull cake or Tiramisu. Highly recommend.
It's hard to walk past here without stopping to stare and drool over the mouth watering pastries and cakes. All of which taste as good as they look. The only thing that lets them down is their staff who can be vague, inattentive and don't seem to understand what you are after a lot of the time, but there is quite a lot of that in Chatswood to be honest
Taro Paradise - neutral: in essence we have a tradition Asian Cream cake without the fruit, lightly infused and coloured in the expected manner of any Taro offering. Without a strong Taro taste, this might turn away those who expect more.
Hokkaido Cheese. I normally don't like white chocolate but this one is different. Tastes like cheese cake, but soft, with some white chocolate sprinkles. Yum.
They do free delivery for all cakes! Amazing service and delicious cakes, they even come with cutlery and candles. Delicious milk tea and soy bean drink too. Great value. Give them a go, you won't be disappointed!
Can always count on 85degrees Chatswood for their amazing looking and delicious cakes and breads. Great value and they always impress family and friends. Much better than Breadtop and other places. They also do delicious milk teas and have great deals like 2 teas for $7. Definitely recommend!
Open today on Xmas day! Had a great deal, $9.90 for a coffee/bbt/fruit tea + slice of cake. The staff were all really friendly :) they also accept liven!
Delicious and freshly made bread and pastries. Friendly and attentive service! We bought the evening special of 4 boxes yummy items for $10. Highly recommended!!
Really tasty, one of the best asian styled bakeries in town. Owners are really nice too, lovely people.
