Review Two Feet First - Chelsea

Always has been a fave with us but popping in today fir brekky was next level awesome!!! Choice anxiety for breakfast with awesome twists to some standard and not-so-standard fare!! Service was gorgeous, friendly, polite, prompt and the ambience is relaxed. Coffee was so good, we had to order it twice!!! Get your laughing gear around this menu!!

Came in for a quick brunch on a long weekend, the place was packed (always a good sign), but the service was very fast and attentive. The coffee is fantastic and the burgers, wow! The Gunslinger does exactly what it does on the tin; perfectly cooked patty, packed with flavour, refried beans, salsa and corn chips, and the Squid pro quo was also incredible. Definitely keen to come back for a glass of wine.

Revisited this favourite Cafe after moving out of the immediate area and we were immediately overwhelmed by the friendly service and excellent food. Wonderful to be remembered, especially after such a long time since our last visit (pre-COVID). All the reasons why it was our favourite back then came flooding back and so will make sure we visit again soon.

French toast had a higher ratio of toppings to bread and the flavours didn’t really work that well together…worst thing that happened was that whilst I was in the parking lot heading home a waitress came out and said ‘You paid right?’ Shouldn’t there be better communication between staff so that they know whether customers have paid before chasing them down in the parking lot after they’ve already left the restaurant? Won’t be going back that’s for sure

Excellent. First impressions - spacious, airy fresh , staff still ask to see your vax status and there are outdoor tables, door left open. Only downside in service was some of the staff not wearing their masks (masks out of position). Menu has a range of choices , should please a diverse base. My hommus and flatbread dish was fresh, with well balanced flavours and carefully prepared. Few if any shortcuts. Flatbread hot and soft though with a good bite, made with yeast not bicarb if I tasted it right, the falafels freshly fried (a bit too salty , maybe supplied by a specialist ? But otherwise good texture & moisture as if handmade?), hommus was creamy and delicious - tasted as it should (no artificial taste , not excessively acidified, nice tahini note without bitterness etc), salad elements all impeccable, pickles not excessively acidified nor sweetened. Agree with other reviewers re fam friendly and lots of seating. Car park at the back also convenient.

From the moment I spotted it on the menu, I knew I had to try. The Gun Slinger, chilli con-carne burger It was certainly delightful and lived up to every preconceived thought I had in my head. A good mix of burger throughout. I don't think I said a word during my consumption of it. The haloumi fries, a little bit too oily for my liking, and prob not a good idea to have them all. The Beetrot salad was well balanced, but light on the goats cheese and can be described as delicious. Service was friendly and efficient. Wait times around 10-15 mins being quite acceptable. Good menu choices with variety. Covid safe procedure operating, order at counter and wait outside.

Walked in and immediately the young girl was so friendly. Said we could stay until 4 as we had been booted out of the previous cafe we had been to after and hour and a half. Great vibe, music and will definitely come back here to eat. The food looks delicious!

Bought 2 coffees and a hot chocolate the coffee beans were burnt and made the coffee bitter for the amount they charge atleast have decent coffee not with burnt beans and marks all over the cup will never be going back.

From opening its doors with a bright future, friendly staff and a great unique menu, this place has grown to be the most modern and busy cafe in Chelsea. Unfortunately when growth appears in a business you should hire staff that are capable of actually doing their job. To have no one attend your table not even with a glass of water while you wait lengthy times to even place an order then to have only half the tables orders actually get fulfilled leaving people sitting there with nothing to eat and hungry. Your appetite turns suddenly as sour as the attitude of the staff when mentioning there has been a large mistake made. When premium prices are expected on the menu your service must reflect otherwise you'll have more people walk out just like us.

What started out as a lovely place has rapidly gone down hill. Lovely staff and great service but the food is letting it down badly. Just had lunch there and from the limited menu there were two items unavailable. Settled for the pulling beef. When it came the brisket was tough, chewy and full of big chunks of gristle. We didn't complain but when asked if everything was ok when we finished we explained about the meat. The server then spoke to the chef and came back to tell us that brisket is just a fatty cut of meat and it's supposed to be the way it was served. Brisket is supposed to be slow cooked and should melt in the mouth not need to be sawed with a knife to cut. This is the second bad meal I have had and will be giving the place a miss from now onwards

Held a function for around 30 on a Sunday morning for Brunch. Service was excellent, food great. Staff helpful and everything went like clockwork. Have been there once before for breakfast .. Again Service, Food and staff were great. No hesitation in recommending Two Feet First.

I have food sensitivities and the staff were more that happy to accommodate. Nice food. Great staff.

I ordered food tonight from this restaurant . Never again. Lamb was cold and chewy; Only 1 slice of beef in the Ragu. Popcorn chicken was over cooked and dry. Haloumi was over cooked. The sauces for the food had far too much olive oil in it.
Bec Greenwood
Had lunch there today, thank god the food was amazing as the professionalism and attitudes of a staff member was atrocious. From belittling and be grading young staff members in front of everyone in the cafe to having a go at a chefs baldness oh and asking a customer about his different eye colours or if he had a bung eye. Was just odd, rude and probably the worst customer service I have ever witnessed. This place has huge potential but may need a change in management. Oh and saying the two dogs out the front resemble two staff members isn't great either... not sure if we will be back

Called in for Mother's Day breakfast...we got a table without a booking and were seated...given menus....ordered coffee and the porky pork breakfast ....it was yummy....coffees arrived and the food took a little longer.....friendly staff and nice clean cafe with a good ambience....will return..

A very good restaurant, with friendly staff and a varied healthy menu. Priced reasonably.

People are amazing so much so we have dinner there once to twice a week!! food is just as good as the service. There's a reason why this place is packed every Saturday and Sunday mornings for brekky/lunch

The chai was amazing, lovely cafe and a great place to catch up with friends. Will definitely be back! Keep up the great work!

Two Feet First is always on point with their food and coffee. Great location and excellent customer service :)

Girls catchup lunch. Pleasantly surprised by the stylish ambience & the friendly staff. Lots of yummy food choices at affordable prices & good sized portions. Will definitely be back.

I ordered a blue streak and it was cooked to perfection, but perhaps a little on the small side. Drinks took a while to arrive and we were sat right next to the live musician (who was good, just not so close). Small things really - the steak was the highlight.

Always pass Two Feet First but have never gone in. Modern cafe offering breakfast, lunch and sometimes dinner (summer only). Indoor and outdoor seating available and friendly to large groups. <br/>🍴ordered a UN-BEET-ABLE burger which came with fries. Nice, fresh burger with very well seasoned fries. Unfortunately no photo. We also shared a muffin. At first I thought the flavour combination (blueberry, peanut and white chocolate) wouldn’t work but was pleasantly surprised. Coffee is decent. <br/>💁🏼‍♀️ attentive friendly service. No complains.

Completely disappointing. We went here for Saturday brunch and had a breaky burger, a beans good thanks and a banana bread with whipped Nutella. <br/>Everything was insanely overpriced and the food was mediocre at best. It’s a shame because the staff were lovely and the interior is nice and it’s in a great location. <br/>We won’t be going back. If they’re going to charge premium Melbourne prices they need to up their game substantially.
Kate Milardovic
Great service and attentive staff. Meals were all a little underwhelming. Kids meals really small. 1 very small waffle, and very mini cheeseburger that was eaten in 3 bites. I had Bruce’s breakfast. It was just ok. It just seemed to be lacking something. It needed some feta or goats cheese, as was just a bit bland. Hubby had Poseidon burger, which felt overloaded salt. <br/>It’s a shame because atmosphere and staff were excellent, but wouldn’t go back.

Amazing meal at Two Feet First Chelsea <br/>We had the Smashed Avo, Waffles and Smoothie Bowl! 🤤<br/>Great service and conveniently located 5 min from Chelsea Beach. Such a beautiful place to catch up with friends and family if your based in Melbourne!

So happy I visited this cafe in Chelsea! Located minutes from the beach! Easy to park too and have some tables outside so you can enjoy the sunshine! . Staff were very friendly and food and drinks were all delish! The presentation is A1 everything looked amazing. The servings were very generous I found it hard to finish it all! My favourite was the smashed avo and the waffles! If your a sweet tooth you must try the waffles!! They were to die for! Highly recommend this cafe, couldn’t fault it!

Need to start using milk lab almond milk for coffee, the other homemade one separates and doesn’t blend. Will start getting my coffee here if they made the change

I went here when it first opened and ended up leaving before ordering because there wasn't much variety on the menu. But recently I returned and wow has it changed!! <br/><br/>The Menu is new and much more interesting, I opted for a juice and granola and I really enjoyed it! It was tasty, not to over priced and everything was presented really nicely! I definitely want to go back here and try more :) <br/><br/>Staff was also very friendly, just wish they had a bit more outdoor seating as it's a great spot to sit in summer! But overall I can't wait to come back and see what the other dishes taste like

We had a great family lunch on Grand Final Day. The staff were very friendly and attentive. They even engaged our kids in conversation. The food was perfectly presented and tasted great. We have many dietary requirements in our family (dairy free, gluten free, no soy & rice) so we were pleased with the variety of options/adaptations available on the menu. My wife and I especially loved the coffee - perfect to our taste. The scandi inspired natural timber decor and surf rock music made for a light, bright and upbeat ambience.
Choc Pudding
A nice cafe with spacious interior. The staff was very friendly. Menu was interesting, has some fusion dishes and all named in a humourous way. I ended up having burger and my friend had the shrooms. Both are well cooked, quite balanced with the sauce. Chips are exceptionally good, very crispy. Hot chocolate was okay. It’s a good cafe to sit and have a chat. The only thing I wish they told me that by asking for aioli for the chips means we will be charged.<br/><br/>Went again the second time and had more burgers (i think the menu has changed as the burger i had last time isnt there anymore) and it was quite boring.

For all the talk for this place I was slightly disappointed. A Saturday lunch here proved a difficult task as many options on the menu but none that jumped out at you. I eventually arrived at the “wellness bowl” which had what seemed all store bought packet ingredients placed nicely in the bowl with some buttery mushrooms and a packet sauce poured over. The other items on the table included the chicken toastie which had plastic cheese and the pumpkin smash which also had the packet sauce over everything. I had high hopes but was let down with more of a shopping centre dated cafe style output of food. Interior is nice though 😊

Love it!! Food is delicious. Presentation is spot on. Coffee is great. We buy the St Ali coffee beans from here to use at home also. Love eating here!!
Tori
The raspberry and the Passionfruit cronuts are delicious. We also got the roast vegetable toastie, not very big but full of flavour. Good service too. Will certainly be back again :)

Been here several times and it's one of the fancier cafes in Chelsea, well worth a visit if you want that something special in this suburb!!

Sister to Highett’s The Little Elephant, Two Feet First is a bright, casual all day eatery, a few minutes walk from Chelsea beach! Two Feet First is a large and modern cafe, right on the Nepean Highway in Chelsea. It’s an all day eatery with....

Great breakfast cafe! Ordered the chai tea and it came in a really nice pot on a board and you could strain it yourself. <br/>Generous servings and everything was tasty. Nice seating.<br/>Only negative was how long it took to pay, as the counter is where they also make coffee, didn’t seem to have a dedicated cashier.
Bagelhutzy
Two feet first is an exceptional cafe that has raised the Chelsea brunch scene. Cafe is spacious, vibrant, and modern, with sleek wood decor and a plantation finish! Service, exceptional. Food, exceptional. Coffee, exceptional. Can’t wait to come back and try the dinner menu!
EatToLive
Probably, the most inviting cafe in Chelsea by far (Feb 2018). Great service from the hosts, beautiful coffee and good breakfast. We have “big breakfast” and pene special. The big breakfast is huge and delicious. Pene however is a little bland even though the dish is accompanied with grated parmesan cheese but it is still a good dish. No rooms to try cakes on display but they look so gooooood....probably next time :)
Urban Cocktail
Ok local spot , experience the flavours of modern day breakfast with micro herbs and fresh juices ( $10 juice ) good coffee good service fresh eats nice little local .
DaRekinator
Not much to say really, the bloke who served us was a ledge, the food and coffee was terrific, with great portions and the service was very fast. Definitely will be returning.
Daniel
Luckily stumbled in here for the first time on a Tuesday night where they have burgers, chips and beer for $15 representing a considerable saving on the regular price. Kitchen were even happy to accommodate an addition to our burgers for no extra charge (even though their menu specified no changes) which was greatly appreciated. A good solid feed with the skin-on hand cut chips a particular highlight - will definitely be back in the future to try out some more of the menu.
Emily
the staff are lovely and the service and food is really good. relaxed atmosphere and the best chai lattes. 😍😍 a great little brunch spot!!
ManFromMelbourne
A wonderful place to grab breakfast. Food, service and ambiance are all spot on.<br/><br/>We ordered two big breakfasts, one with relish on the side. We also ordered two cold presses juices. <br/><br/>The breakfast was a massive plate of perfectly cooked food. The confit mushrooms especially wowed me - I could have eaten a whole plate of those! Juices were fresh, although the Sunny Side Up was a bit unbalanced as the citrus flavours were a little too strong. <br/><br/>Would definitely return to try their other dishes!

Amazing beetroot falafel for breakfast, it was the perfect light mix but filling at the same time and the coffee was perfect. I added hash browns and omg to perfection
Stuck In Transit
Two Feet First is a newish cafe/restaurant in Chelsea, and it seems the area has been screaming for something like this for some time. Located along Nepean Hwy and a short walk from the shore, this corner restaurant has certainly caught the attention of many locals. . ATMOSPHERE & SERVICE. I love that this restaurant is located less than a 10 minute walk from the beach, making it the perfect spot to grab a coffee before a morning stroll. Inside, the space is quite large, with a long dining space along one side and kitchen/coffee bar along the other. The interior has a stylish, modern fitout showcasing gorgeous natural timber, with hits of black throughout.

Tried the fig slice, trendy looking and moist! Burger was nice but to pricey for what it was around $20. A warm atmosphere for a quick bite to eat before exploring NQR which was just around the corner :)

I don't live close by but met friends as is half way for us. We will definitely go back. Really nice cafe, staff are lovely and attentive. Breakfast was delicious as is their coffee.

Came here late Saturday arvo between that odd period where most cafes close after lunch and before dinner for a catchup with the boys who were just after coffees.<br/><br/>To our surprise this venue was still open and happy to serve us coffees so we sat down and ordered straight away, although this review is only based on the cappuccinos and lattes we had, it's important to note that not many Cafes were open at this time along Chelsea and that it was good to see them catering to this gap on the afternoon market! <br/><br/>The cafe is very spacious and well decorated with nice warm lights and beachy/sandalwood style furniture. It's easy to see this place doing well with its location and open times throughout the winter and summer. Will have to come back to try the food from the extensive menu.<br/><br/><br/>Edit: We have come back to try the breakfast and were very impressed. The big breakfast had a great spread for $22 while the brekie burger was a unique take on a breakfast dish and very satisfying with both meals coming with 2 hashbrowns! One thing to mention, they don't have flavoured coffee syrups if you are after a vanilla chai for example however there standard coffees are up to it.
Danielle Ando
Unfortunately a bad coffee but was saved by a really nice meal - the polenta & celeriac Croquettes with poached egg & sautéed spinach. Staff were lovely and service was great. Would revisit for brunch again, just not for coffee.

I ordered a nana smoothie with a vegan sweet muesli very filling and yummy. Great place to just chill and hang out with a friend, low key and it's nice to sit outside on a nice sunny day! It's a cute place and great to go to the beach afterwards

Friendly staff, warm atmosphere and has background guitar two man band. Food is great also.<br/>Recommend it to any age group wanting to have a quiet dinner<br/> <br/>

Great customer service. We were greeted and seated as soon as we got in the door. Drink and food service was fast and the chai was freaking amazing!!! Shared a big breakfast and waffles with my other half and was not disappointed. Tasty tasty tasty :) and reasonably priced :) will do again and again and again

Love the new menu! The croquettes with Sriracha maple bacon is amazing. I have since also tried the 'Back to the Roots' with pulled Lamb which was YUM and very filling. My girlfriend had the chicken burger which was also great, I may have stolen a bite or three. The cafe itself is extremely spacious and beautifully put together and the staff have been fantastic. New favourite cafe!
DB4SB
About time Chelsea got a "hipster" cafe! The decor is quite beautiful and coffee was spot on. Can't complain about the food as I had the Avo on toast and it was good. My minor issue- and it may seem stupid but staff were singing realllyyy loudly. I think it was one in particular but I was a bit embarrassed and it made me awkward having someone suddenly burst out singing. I thought it was a bit funny the first time but after a while I just wanted to enjoy my meal in peace and quiet conversation but don't get me wrong it's a trivial issue and probably rare just happened when I visited!

Amazing food & service. Beautiful atmosphere, clean, friendly & enjoyable. <br/>The live music was an added bonus too. <br/>Very child friendly 😊 my boys loved it. <br/>Will definitely be back. <br/><br/>The toblerone dessert was seriously amazing!!
Yourmelbournefoodguide
Found this beautiful cafe just by chance and was very happy with what I ordered - I got the coconut chia pudding (vegan friendly option) and not only was it pretty, but honestly tasted just as good as it looked!

First time coming here tonight and wow is all i can say. The food was absolutely beautiful, so fresh and tasty which was great! Its so good to have a new local cafe where the food and customer service is outstanding. The two waiters were very friendly and helpful. Thank you for a wonderful experience, we will be returning & spreading the good news!

I absolutely love this place! They opened in November and have become my second home since. It's exactly what Chelsea was crying out for.<br/><br/>The menu is really modern and trendy. I've never had anything that I haven't absolutely loved.<br/><br/>The coffee is to die for and they even have a yummy and healthy tumeric latte. But my favourite thing is the chai latte. They make it from scratch with tea leaves and whole spices. It's soooooo much better than that powdered stuff that all the other cafes serve. It's worth the drive just for that. If you like chai, you'll be hard pressed to find any better.<br/><br/>But the thing that keeps me going back is the service. All the staff are absolutely amazing. You seriously couldn't ask for better service from a local cafe. I have a two year old daughter who also loves the staff and asks for them every day. They all make her feel very special as they're very tolerant when her and her friends are displaying behaviour that's less than desirable. They go out of their way to make creative babyccinos for her. She got a pig one last week and was very excited!<br/><br/>A friend of mine had her sleeping toddler in the car so she phoned them to order a coffee so she could just run in and grab it, but they ran it out to the car for her! Seriously, how could service be any better?<br/><br/>I can't speak highly enough of Two Feet First. Nothing I say would do them justice. If you're local to Chelsea, you must check it out. If you're not, it's certainly worth the drive.

Had brunch here with my partner recently, late on a Sunday morning. They were busy, but still managed to get a table (once we were finally acknowledged) without a wait. Service here was hit and miss, we had to flag a waiter down to take our order and a few staff seemed to be wandering around looking vague. However, coffee and food cane out promptly once ordered. The food was really good, with large servings which also made us feel we were receiving value for money. Coffee was ok, a little bitter. I definitely have other items on the menu I want to try, and it's great to have some new cafe offerings in Melbourne's South East. We will be back.
Robert Naumoff
Nice coffee and the staff are very nice but the food is nothing special. The major concern is not getting served once you sit down. If your like me and you wait your turn, you could be waiting quite awhile.
DamoForce Food
As soon as you walk in your are wowed. The venue is huge, great for large booking and functions. The staff are friendly and the coffee is quality! Great display of treats but the fried chicken burger and nibbles are very tasty as well!!
FoodFoodFood
Sunday breakfast done to a tee. Big breakfast cooked beautifully and coffee was delicious. Very busy so there was a bit of a wait but its was Sunday. Expected. <br/>Will be back

Espresso is always really good whether it's sit in or take away, same goes for their food. Service is super friendly and attentive. Good to finally find an awesome cafe in the area

Fresh new place in Chelsea is all it needed. Great location on the main street opposite the train station. Loved the styling the timber look is always a winner. Quite a huge place inside with heaps of seating. Staff working here were so exceptional. Absolutely great customer service from the young tall guy working there. He really tried to build a report with me which was impressive. I did'nt get even a smile from the girl working there. I really don't mind the open structure of the kitchen but I felt the fact I could hear absolutely everything the chef was saying was distracting to me and effected the vibe. They had a great menu with quirky names. The coffee was well made and was good! Food came out really quickly and My first thought was its huge. I loved the bread the chilli scramble was inconsistent I would get a huge hit of chilli and then nothing. Great chilli hit but nothing to break up the chilli as the scramble was sitting on the bread. The serving size was worth the money but was very heavy and filling. Overall great experience for a new cafe

Two Feet First opened its doors in November and serves breakfast, lunch & dinner.  The Chelsea restaurant is a short walk from the shore and has a modern fit out with an emphasis on natural wood. . We went with the recommended dishes Porky Pork and Sweet Potato Bliss.  It was a tough decision as they all sounded so good.  These were definitely good choices and both were so delicious hubby and I went halves. The Porky Pork - Ham hock bonbons on sourdough toast with spinach, bacon jam, poached eggs and hollandaise.  Sounds good right?!  Then when you cut into the bonbons it gets even better...YUM!

Restaurants must be prepared for good and bad reviews, my previous reviews have been good for this restaurant but on this occasion not so!<br/>My wife and I stoped for breakfast only to find no service. Although there where three staff behind the counter, no one wanted to take our order. The staff would look at us but after 15min just gave up and left.<br/>People wanting take away received service, so maybe the staff had a late night??<br/>Good news is I have many good places on my list.<br/>

There's always teething problems with any new cafe (or business) opening but these guys seem to have executed it quite well. The staff seem very engaged and are quite friendly, the kitchen works like clockwork and more importantly the food and beverages are great. We live in Edithvale and have been dying for a "South Melbourne-esque" cafe to open down this way. So glad it's happened and it's been a great experience so far.

This is really quite a swish newly opened cafe, at the southern end of the main shopping strip in Chelsea. It is on a very good corner location, and has smart modern interior, with timber table and chair settings, polished boards, and timber planters on ledges affixed to a brick wall.  The dining space is elongated, and provides numerous tables, and as well there are some kerbside dining spaces. On my first visit I just had coffee, which had clearly been extracted well. I perused the menu and noted some interesting items, including a number of vegetarian and vegan choices, both of which were well marked by a symbol. I intend to sample one of their breakfasts in the near future. Some rock classics played at low volume in the background, and the serving staff were friendly, chatty and casual. The place had a good vibe to it, and raises the bar a bit higher for dining in this area.
Scott Cody
The style of the place is absolutely spot on, whether you're in for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner - would even be a fantastic function venue. Stylish and modern interior, lots of space, and very good vibes.<br/>Smiling and friendly staff giving immediate greetings and making you feel at home - coffees served quickly and absolutely deliciously. The lamarzocca the barista sits on is sleek and sexy and clearly used to its full potential.<br/>Food menu is simple but beautiful, good food done well, the grilled polenta and corn bread with BACON JAM?? An absolute standout, couldn't go past it and glad I didn't because it was a taste sensation. The avocado salsa with a little fresh jalapeño mixed through? Brilliant. Absolutely loved it, perfect portioning, tasty, good looking and fresh.<br/>Love this place, highly recommend to all!
Four Or More
Loved it .. chai was hot and fresh and I had the most beautiful polento and corn bread with poached eggs and advo /cherries/some type of jam .. it was so tasty .. pricing was good .. looking forward to the wine bar part opening .. well done chelsea

Cool decor, great coffee, delicious food & attentive staff. Ordered the salmon gravlax and a croissant which was warmed up and came burnt, nonetheless still yum. Though it was pretty crowded, but staff was warm, attentive & checked with us from time to time. Ambience could be cosier - house music playing & a tad too loud, posing slight challenge to chat within the wooden decor. But overall still a pleasant experience. Listing it as a favourite cafe of mine in this area and would definitely be back!
Hulksmashfood
Brand new place in Chelsea, beautifully decked out and fantastic service.<br/>Coffee was beautiful and the Big Breakfast was amazing, so many venues could learn from these new kids on the block, if I'm paying $22 for breakfast stack it to the roof and make it delicious and that's exactly what these guys did.
Hbomb
This is my local suburb and finally we have a trendy cafe for brunch! Too often I trek to another suburb for a good eat and excited to have a decent cafe in Chelsea. Staff are super chilled and food was on point.
