TGI Fridays have large quantity American style food.
This visit I got the beef ribs. For the price, you got a huge amount that I could not finish.
Ribs were tender amd had a great flavour. I was very impressed.
Id stick to the meats when visiting with they do well.
The serving sizes are phenomenal at this place. It’s always a great place to eat after a whole day of shopping or even before the movies. The burgers are the best 😍
My partner and I were seeing a movie at Southland and chose to TGI’s for lunch post on account of the entertainment book. I was flabbergasted to see pasta is no longer on the menu 😭😭😭 it’s been a few years between visits but it’s always been my go to.
With no other choice but to try something new I went for a grilled chicken burger. The menu change must have also resulted in a shuffle of price points because it seems a lot more affordable than my recollection.
The burger was serviceable and with the discount even more so. Good family friendly spot
The waitress was polite and helpful . The glazed chicken , mash and vegetables were very nice . I had a triple berry smoothie which was great . It is a bit pricy but otherwise all good . I will come back again .
Was there for dinner tonight, staff was very friendly, the potato twist for starts was amazing, the porterhouse steak was cooked to perfection, and with a Jack Daniels glaze WOW, crispy chips washed down with a Millers beer, what more would you want, great prices, mates Jack Daniels burger looked great. Thanks TGI Fridays well done.
Plenty of staff and always busy, the TGI Friday’s at Southland is constantly buzzing. The food is the same as other TGI’s: large, tasty and plentiful. Beautiful American decor is spread throughout the premises making it a very comfy place to go.
TGIs is definitely the universal symbol for a good time, from their birthday song to their quirky decor you’ll definitely enjoy the experience. We always enjoy a visit to TGIs and for a chain restaurant their service...
I had some Mexican burger it was in one word delicious and I am not a burger person, if all burgers tasted like this one I might become one. Only fault; not enough pico de gallo salsa.
The food at TGI Friday’s is always solid. Great selection of steaks and burgers available and the serving sizes are very generous.
Upon my last visit the helpful wait staff informed me that they recently removed their unlimited soft drink options.
My friend's and I dined here once on a Friday night (how poetic). We began the dinner by ordering our starters which was the Jack Daniel's Sampler. It was a favourite, the pork belly my friends said it was great, as well as the chicken strips, but what really was the show stop was the Cajun Spiced prawns 🍤; as this was not only cooked but also prepared perfectly, it had a little church and what really impressed me was that there wasn't any "oily" after taste which you might find at some other restaurants.
My friend's ordered the, All American Cheeseburger and The Ultimate Jack Daniel's (burger). All was good, like I one of them clearly stated that: "this is the best burger I've ever had"
I ordered the Jack Daniel's Glazed Salmon with veggies. Mostly I thought the salmon was well cooked, it wasn't cooked sooo much that the pieces were falling out yet it wasn't undercooked. I was extremely impressed by the glaze, like I understand this is no easy task. Like there wasn't any skin on and it was flame grilled, that's an achievement on its own because flame grilling salmon with no skin isn't easy.
However I did have one issue. The veggies, some were slightly undercooked and the carrots are the main problem as they were still quite hard.
It will be a complete crime for me to give this restaurant anything under 5 because of that one tiny issue. Especially since the meals and service were up and beyond everyone's expectations.

+3.5
Great service is always refreshing! The pasta I ordered were served to me kinda cold (still delish but not hot enough) so I just asked to heat it up. The waitness got the chef to re-cook the pasta and offered apologies and free drinks. I honestly don't have anything to critize. Everything was spot on! Keep up the good work :)
Visit 2
TGIF have made changes to their menu recently and there is just the veggie burger on the veg menu. Ordered the burger today and it was fairly ordinary. Wouldn’t consider being back for a while.
Shared the buffalo and chimmichurri wings, onion rings, and guacamole between two people and we couldn't finish it all. Everything was delicious! The buffalo wings were amazing! Love that you can make your own guacamole to your own taste. Our waitress was lovely and attentive. Had the italian stallion and chocolate lovers espresso martinis and they were both excellent as well. Overall an excellent evening.
My partner and me just died and went to heaven! OMG! Tried desserts at TGI Fridays Southland after a lunch meal in the main food court and soooo glad we did... Brownie Obsession (pictured in large bowl $13) and Chocolate Malted Turtle ($14) weren't cheap but were simply amazing - as good as desserts get! But watch the kilojoules coz these ain't for those on a diet - I took the day off of mine today haha. Hard to describe just how awesome these were. The Turtle (recommended to us by a friendly staff member) was unbelievable - similar flavoured cake to sticky date, just better - and not too sweet! However, the Obsession was very sweet, and unless you have something to tone it down it might be too much... Perhaps splitting the Obsession between two might be the way to go? Despite the price, the servings for both desserts were generous. You've gotta try these!
Excellent staff... good food ...like the new look menu... nothing is a problem... Very busy Saturday night... fast efficient.. and with a smile...
Have only been here for drinks so was a bit surprised. Been to the chapel street restaurant before and very happy with the food and service there. Didn't know what to expect for this one, especially as it is located in a shopping centre. But
the service was very good, friendly, and attentive. Just don't like that we have to ask for water. (Happy though as it came with ice cubes and a straw.) I ordered the jack Daniels chicken with fries and
vegetables. With breast pieces instead of the 1/2 chicken. Love the chips here and the chicken and sauce were both lovely.
Always good food but expensive for what they give ..... service was alright ... we ordered Cajun pasta .. it's my favourite here ... wings was alright Olive Una
TGI Fridays has always been a favourite of mine. We usually have the ribs (and enjoy them!!!) but this time I ordered the Memphis BBQ Burger. At $21 it is one of the more expensive burgers I've had, but a fair price by TGI standards. The lettuce, pickles, tomato and onion were fresh and tasty. Cheese and bacon were deliciously cooked. The burger meat was nice to bite into, and the bun was fresh and stayed nice to the end. I give this burger a 3.5.
TGI friday was ok but I have never gone back just as I didn't really have any reason too! The food was a little too mainstream for me and the steak sauce was an intense in flavor. Can't really fault the service however
I think this is the best TGIs. The setup and American decorations make you feel you're in the USA. Every time I come the food is great, especially the wings. Most importantly the staff just get it, the customer service is impeccable.
One of the best tgis in melbourne. Service is always great and the mananger was super friendly accomodating my pram and my needs. ( I needed to breast feed and the booths were too squishy so he moved us to an open table) We ordered the new promo shared platter which was great. Hubby scoffed it down in 10 mins flat. Great atmosphere.
There's a pretty big emphasis on service, which doesn't go unnoticed and certainly makes you feel welcome and comfortable. I've had a few of the burgers and they're all great. Also a fan of the chips with some fairly unique seasoning that works well.
Nice selection of food, caters for all diets and ages. Very expensive for what you get, salad was over $20 and not that much chicken compared to the salad. The restaurant was not busy at all however food still took a very long time to come out. Could find somewhere that is better value for money.
Great place to catchup with friends and family! Service is excellent as always and food is delicious. Only criticism is food can be quite pricy and takes awhile to come.
Very good service with friendly staff, quick time delivery for food with also a great taste. I highly recommend this store as i see nothing wrong with it.
Ps i recommend the "Buffalo Wings".
Food was too buttery, too cheesy, and too oily, but i guess thats how american food are.
The portion was huge and 1 dish simply can feed 2 people.
But after read all the review, actually the food itself was better than expected, we went there for birthday party and ordered many of the food which was actually quite good, except for the mac n cheese bites was bland.
We went there for the first time yesterday and found the menu to be quite extensive, also offering an extensive range of drinks. Their chips are really good and the burgers are quite good. Service was friendly. Only downside it was crowded and too noisy for our liking. We would like to go back and try some other items on the menu but will choose a quieter time. There was a 10% surcharge because it was a public holiday.
Nice ambience, great service, fantastic food. Was hesitant when we saw the poor rating, but turned out, everything was better than expected. Loved the French dip stacked burger - one my fav Fridays' burgers. Oh so yummy! Fries were a little too salty, but the burger more than made up for it. The bruschetta pasta had 9 prawns which we thought was very generous. Overall very satisfied with our dining experience at Southland's Fridays. Hope to revisit someday!
We arrived at 7pm without a booking on Sunday night and had to wait 25minutes to get a table, while we waited they gave us a buzzer and told us to wait near the bar.
When we finally got seated, we already knew what we wanted to order.
The Jack Daniels platter, the Jack Daniels burger, an Oreo thick-shake and an ultimate mudslide.
The food took around 40 mins to arrived so by this time we were already starving. The food was great, the burger is always a filling meal, even without the double patty. The platter was chicken, steak. and shrimp which also came with chips, veggies, onion rings and the special Jack Daniels sauce. The steak was cooked perfectly as per request as medium rare and the shrimps were amazing in the light but crispy and tangy crumbed seasoning. The big downfall was the chicken which was a breast piece and was just overcooked and very dry, almost inedible workout copious amounts of sauce. Better option would have been the ribs with the steak and shrimp which I will know for next time.
The ultimate mudslide is huge but considering its $18.50 while the standard mudslide is $15, it's probably better to get the bigger one even if you can't finish it as it would probably work out cheaper or you can share it with someone. It's a great milky, cream and chocolate alcoholic drink that comes with chocolate buttons and ice cream.
Visited 1 month ago - Food has really improved. Fresh, tasty and great service. Like the new menu with now has a more tapas style option which is great for those who want to try a little of everything. Ribs juicy and tender. Buffalo wings soft and full of traditional flavour. Well done on the improvements
The thing with TGI's is that we find it a good place for a birthday. Everyone can find something that they will enjoy. The baby back ribs are not cheap at $40 but this is generally what I order as they're so good.
Went on a Thursday night so TGIFs wasn't super busy! We ordered a chicken pasta and the veggie burger. The veggie burger was pretty pricey at $20 for a small burger and a small side of chips but it was a decent veggie patty! However the patty was slightly over cooked, yet the overall taste was quit nice. The pasta had very nice and fresh chicken, and the pasta was well cooked. The bread on the side however was tiny, overcooked and to be honest unneeded. For drinks we ordered the typical lemon lime bitters and for a change the triple berry smoothie. The smoothie was very nice (a little too watery) but perfect fix for not feeling 100%. I will defiantly be back just for that smoothie.
Special shoutout to our waitress as well. She was lovely and made my night while I was sick.
Friday night fun with the kids. Good was nice - but Chris out waiter was OUTSTANDING!!! Would come back any time if he can look after us. Kudos to whomever hired him! ❤️
Amazing food. So thrilled, also I had the best service from a waiter called Chris. Great food is an important thing when you go out but having the amazing 5 star service that Chris gave me and my friends made this our favorite restaurant. I highly recommend!!!
Dined on a Friday and the service was impeccable. Chris, our waiter, was friendly and attentive. All our food came exactly as ordered and our group was very happy with the experience :)
Good service, been to tgis a couple of times and Chris has been one of the best waiters who have served me there! Food is always delicious!
Festivus - Great burgers. You know what you going to get
