Review Fernalee Chinese Restaurant - Christies Beach

Wow!, absolutely delicious food. We've been using another Chinese for a few years but it's recently gone downhill so we tried Fernalee after reading the reviews. The portions were huge, everything extremely tasty, prawn chips not at all greasy. Yum, Yum Yummmmm 👍👍👍👍

Most of the food was pretty good… However I placed a phone ordered and arrived 20 minutes after calling as they said my order would be 15-20 minutes. When I arrived my food was ready- however it was just sitting on a bench with a tea towel and was already going cold once we got home to eat. (Only live 3-4 mins away) Food should always be kept in food safe temps until ready to serve to reduce any risks of food poisoning. A lot of customers may not be exactly on time or the food may be cooked earlier and it’s the restaurants responsibility to ensure the food is kept at safe temperatures until it is collected. (Below 5deg or above 60deg- in-between is classed as the “danger zone”) We also found it disappointing they only offer the discount with the entertainment book for dine in when there’s still so many issues with covid spreading and families getting sick and having to isolate. It would be far more covid safe to be encouraging take away rather then dine in.

Just yummy! Great service and very reasonably priced but the last time we went we didn't feel the love so much, as it seemed everyone who came in after us got served before us.

After ordering from Fernalee via Uber eats, we were disappointed to see that part of the order was missing. I spoke with the driver who said I need to speak with the restaurant. I called the restaurant only to be told (after talking to 3 people) that I need to take it up with Uber. Very disappointed with the attitude from the restaurant considering it was them who I was ordering food from NOT Uber. If they believe that they gave the delivery driver the full order then THEY should take it up with Uber NOT the customer. Left with a bad taste in my mouth before trying the food.

Very poor service. Placed an order over the phone and was told 40-50 minutes for my 1 serve chicken laksa. I arrived 50 minutes later and was told that the order was not ready.please wait another 30-40 minutes. Wasn't even busy. Laksa wasn't even that good. Very disappointing.

Good food but BAD SERVICE. Took 1 hour to get entrees, half an hour to get tea refilled. Do take aways, DO NOT DINE IN!!!

Loved in not had Chinese for years wasn't disappointed really good feed will definitely be back soon 😀

Service was great, prices are reasonable, food is delicious, delivery pricy at $ 12 per delivery. Will be ordering again ( maybe eating in) Highly recommend this restaurant

This Chinese has been my go to for years now even after moving to Aldinga.<br/><br/>The food is beyond amazing and fantastic for the price you pay, good portions and amazing taste.

I’m a local and we’ve been to Fernalee quite a few times. I always leave satisfied and I’m picky! Nice food and not too expensive. People are lovely. Honestly don’t know what the last hater is on about.

Awesome. My brother, sister and I have been going to Fernalee for a few years now and it's just been pleasant if not spectacular consistently each time. No where (and yes we've tried a lot of places and alternatives but came up disappointed) makes a better laksa. As for the rest of the menu there isn't a lot to complain about even if you are picky. Service has been wonderful each time apart from the brisk smile and small talk during busy periods or rushes etc they've been all smiles. Perhaps those complaining were treated warrantly. Horrible, horrible food!<br/>Worst ever fried rice in the south <br/>Fried rice was hard, tasteless, dry<br/>Hot and sour soup taste burnt and bitter<br/>Lemon chicken batter and sauce was crappy and tasteless<br/>Never, ever go back to Fernalee <br/>Will spend my money somewhere else!

Bad food, bad service!. The food isn't authentic at all and didn't taste very good. When we asked for either a refund or something else the guy was quite rude and didn't give a refund or a different meal. Won't be eating there again!

Mongolian Beef. Light heat with lots of flavour

Best Chinese. This little restaurant has the best Western Chinese food around! absolutely love the satay and noodle dishes, it is definitely my regular! Staff are always lovely and even though on busy nights there can be a wait, it's always a treat

Have had delivery order from here a few times every time we have waited for delivery over 2hrs plus. On this occasion (being valentine's day) we waited for 2.5<br/> hours and once our dinner arrived the order was wrong and missing a meal! <br/>We then called the restaurant and <br/>explained that of our meals was not <br/>delivered and was told "sorry it will take <br/>too long to make and deliver the order" very disgusted in the response we recieved as we have always been loyal customers. It woul help if the people answering the phone and taking orders was more fluent in speaking english.will therefore never order or recommend chinese from this place again we will take our business elsewhere!!

Surprisingly good. Doesn't look like much on the outside (or the inside really but haven't actually eaten in the restaurant), but the takeaway i've had from there has been really good! the only thing we've had there that was no good was their garlic prawns, it was like a creamy pasta type dish, no good at all, but their satay chicken is an absolute ripper, best satay chicken takeaway i've had from any chinese restaurant!!!

Tom yum soup. Very nice, reccommended, worth the visit.<br/>A simple restaurant not flash love the THAI.
