Review Odyssea City Beach - City Beach

Lisa C
Really good service on Saturday night, good drinks list, amazing looking cocktails. The food was really good especially the crab pasta and the chicken mains, and we didn't have to wait long for it. The entrees were good and looked lovely, but perhaps needed some sort of acid or something to lift the beetroot salad which was rather mild. Would go back!

Overall it's a good restaurant. Nice view of the ocean and friendly staff. Highly recommend the potato and salad as side. Mushroom dish very tasty and Fettuccine well served and seasoned. And the cocktail Eleanor sixty it's a must.

Great spot on the beach .. surfing shop nearby so I guess you will be able to watch surfers during the day. We walked in without booking and found a table without a problem .. but it is out of season so I think we were lucky! The staff were friendly, helpful and well-trained which made the experience even better. We had the bread and olive oil followed by the scotch fillet (mouth wateringly awesome!), my partner had the lamb dish. It wasn't as much if a hero. Puddings were presented and we dived in .. the bread and butter pudding was perfect! Great place .. definitely plan a visit!

First time at Odyssea & definitely not last time. Had a Sangria to start off with then the Lobster & crab fettuccine spot on.Full of flavour couldn't fault it. To finish off I had the Panna cotta with the mango sorbet. The service was very attentive & friendly. See you next visit.😊

Sadly, this place is very overpriced for what they deliver. Staff are attentive but a little too much so, coming to the table way too frequently. A bit like the number of flies, which didn’t go away at all! Food was “ok” at best, not a lot of taste (we had kangaroo and salmon). Not too many choices on the menu unfortunately. Desserts were very strange to say the least (see pic). Drinks were all good however and the view of course. Better to go to local pub and pay 1/3 the price for a tastier/larger meal and less interference from wait staff.

Great location for our Christmas Dinner!! Food was delicious!! Could have had more dessert choices but apart from that we will be back again..

Excellent location. Fast and easy service. Good was delicious and drinks were on point. Great lunch spot after the beach.

Ordered the kangaroo with eggplant and the cocktail special. Had so much flavour. Decided to get a dessert drink called Toblerone which I’ll def be trying to make at home, so good!!

We popped in without reservation, great meal, reasonable prices for premium food, wanted to give a 4 star because after a long wait we never received any desert/coffee menus after our mains so left without! Loved that although there were plenty of high chairs available there was not a child in sight. (We were dining without our three children!! ) great place!!!

Friendly staff, great location with impressive views. Can recommend the bugs and the grilled cauliflower:) yum. The chocolate/orange desert was to die for We will definitely be back

The location is sensational, but the food is devine! This is the second time I have experienced Odyssea and I just can't go past the delicious main meal of Kangaroo. Perfect in every way. On both occasions I have visited, my companions have raved about their meals. Would highly recommend Odyssea (especially for dinner time to enjoy a cocktail, a delicious meal and watch the sun set over the Indian Ocean)

Loved it. Had the Korean spiced chicken served on tortilla. Not having a stomach (outcome of cancer), I can’t eat big meals. This was an entree. It was huge. Very tasty served with Kimchi (?). Quite nicely spicy but a beautiful combination of flavours. Everyone at the table shared mine. Had an Affogatto which was just perfect. Others on the table had excellent meals too. My son reckons it was the best steak he’s ever had. The doughnut (had by wife and one son) was to die for . Service very good. Prices reasonable, sensational view. All in all an excellent experience. Thank you

What a fantastic NYE! Thank you to all the staff for making our night so special. Everyone was super professional, helpful and attentive. The food and drinks were fantastic and the venue was beautifully decorated. We thoroughly enjoyed dancing to the band, and loved the fireworks! A great atmosphere all night. Our only comment from one of our group was that coffee might be available for guests on request. Highly recommend!

Went for breakfast; the ricotta dumplings are to die for! Service was great; and the view is spectacular! Will be back

Disappointed with the service. The food was good but the size of the portions were really small. I got the Margaret River steak 120g with potato mash, mushrooms and spinach. The steak was delicious but oh so small, the potato mash was about a teaspoon full, there were only 4 button mushrooms and about the same amount of spinach leaves. This cost $34 for what was less than an entree size portion. The waitress was rude and hurried us to finish.

Great service from the Welsh waiter that was on duty yesterday and also others than brought our wine. Great to have a stylish beach venue that’s dog friendly (outside tables). Octopus and broad beans, Parmesan/truffle potatoes and the salmon salad were great. The souffra is also yum (Greek custard filo cake). No complaints.

Had dinner at Odyssea on July 28 and it was excellent. Arrived a little early in the Uber and was welcomed nicely, then placed at a good table overlooking the surf club and beach. I had the slow cooked beef cheeks and the wife had the port ragou with both dishes excellent. A cheeseboard and apple pie with ice cream, a desert wine and coffee rounded out the evening. Our waitress was very accommodating without hovering too much.

Lacking customer service. Wine over priced Vasse Felix House Cab Sav $72! This is $22 in MR. My son doesn't eat the children's menu selection, so ordered a $35 eye fillet steak and asked for fries instead on mash and veg, i was charged an extra $9 for taking the Mash and Veggies off plate. So a kids steak and chips $44. The steak was perfectly cooked medium and no gristle at all. My steak the same order, was half the size of my child's steak, about 6cm and a big line of gristle through it, Closer to a trimming than a steak. Freo Sardines hmmm not sure they were, looked more like bought in pizza topping not very impressed. Husband Wagu was perfect and were deserts. Lady that served us was very average, no personality or patients, when i question charging for chips she couldn't be bothered at all. However Front of house removed charge when i bought it up again and explained it was the chefs rule. Lovely location, chef obviously very good but needs a reality check if they want to still be there in the winter months, when the locals keep these business going.

The lamb dish my wife had was a great looking plate and tasted as good as it looked. My beef cheeks with truffle was super delish. Service was aslo great. We will be back.

Nothing but good things to say about this restaurant! From the moment we walked in the door until we left we were 100% happy with everything from the friendly staff, the service, ambiance & last of all great breakfast & coffee .. highly recommend 👍👏

Great food/wine/service matching properly, making this Stunning located Restaurant the best dining out experience in Perth!

We had lunch and drinks here. The cocktails were amazing. The food was delicious. Well presented and innovative. Staff were attentive and delightful. Highly recommend.

Fantastic food, excellent service, amazing view. Great place!

I have been to Odyssea twice and both times have had the same rude lady serve us. All orders, requests or questions were met with a poor attitude which really dampened the atmosphere. We were there as a large group for a baby shower and many of us will not return. This lady seems to receive many bad reviews so perhaps management need to take notice !
Trent.savage
Food was fine, prepared fast. The younger wait staff were all nice and friendly. The old lady who served us was outright rude. Just walked up and stared at us without saying hello or asking what we would like. I observed similar behaviour with the other tables. She cussed at my pregnant wife when she asked for a fish burger, saying they didn’t do them in a condescending tone. Even though the burger section has two burgers and fish and chips all listed under burgers. Easy mistake. The old lady really shouldn’t be in a customer facing role. Won’t go back and risk being served by her again.

handled the seating of Covid19 allowed 20 beautifully. As always food, service and view fantastic.

❗️ H I G H L Y • R E C O M M E N D E D ❗️<br/>this place never disappoints! <br/>From their lobster linguini to their prawn tortillas to their new specials .Despite what is going on right now I must say Odyssea is a pleasure supporting and their service is always phenomenal! <br/>They have amazing food and it’s so great support our local

Went to odysea for lunch and was totally disgusted first of all the lady serving us was rude and when we asked if we could slightly change things such as add tomato to a chicken salad and add chicken to the avocado salad she rudely refused to do any changes instead of nicely explaining that they couldn’t . In the end we ordered 2 chicken salads , an avocado salad , some royal blue potatoes and a kids fish and chips . When the lady came to ask how our meals were she didn’t even wait to hear our answer she just walked off saying so it’s all good thanks , when it wasn’t all good The chicken in the chicken salad was tough and difficult to cut and even chew we ate some of it but then asked for one to be sent back and swapped for a prawn salad they then took both salads and tried to charge us for them when they were taken away, the potato chips were not fresh and were very soggy , the avocado salad was practically nothing and they wouldn’t let us add a protein in to it , the only meal there was no issue with was the kids fish and chips that was the meal of the day and that is sad when the kids meal is the best meal at the table. Sorry to say we won’t be coming back to odysea as their menu can’t be altered and their wait staff are very rude such a disappointment for such a beautiful place
Food_Glorious_Food
Enjoyed our mid week lunch here recently. Ordered the fish tacos (pretty good), baked spiced ricotta with fig (nice, but a little lacking on flavour and the actual fig part) & crispy baked potatoes (very tasty). Ambience of the restaurant is great with a funky internal decor and seating on the outside deck overlooking the ocean. Service was efficient and polite, menu was varied and interesting & pricing was reasonable.

I got a takeaway coffee and it was one of the best I’ve had. I’ll be back at some stage for breakfast. The view from the restaurant section is incredible. My coffee was made promptly too.

What a way to start the day! Beautifully prepared and presented breakfast in a stunning, peaceful location overlooking a pristine beach.

Min spend required to get a table. Turned up to a half empty restaurant, we’re told that there were only tables for eating and if we just wanted a coffee we would have to get a takeaway. Extremely rude service. Decided to head to Hampton’s, which had amazing food, coffee, views and service!
Holly
Beautiful location and view but that's about all. Service was extremely poor, drinks took over an hour to be served slowly followed by the food.<br/>Food was disappointing, I had the eggs benedict with beef brisket and the beef was extremely tough, meal tasted vinegary and the serving size was small.<br/>
Craig Lampard
Had a lovely dinner here last night. Restaurant was busy and wait staff were very attentive. Went with the 5 course chef special which was very tasty and well presented. Beautiful selection of wines available by the glass. Would have rated 5 stars but the serving sizes were very much on the small side, otherwise it was a lovely experience!
Fausto80
For a beachfront venue which is brand new it was disappointing. When we got there we were made to stand around whilst they were sorting some issue out. A simple “I’ll be with you in a minute” would’ve been fine but they didn’t even acknowledge us. The service was very disorganised with young inexperienced waiters mixing up table numbers and fumbling around with plates and cutlery. No fault of their own, the manager was nowhere to be seen. Some good guidance would go a long way for these young workers. The food was pretty average and Perth priced +. If I’m going to spend $250 for two people with a shared entree and dessert then i want to feel like it was worth it. Unfortunately i did not. Very typical Perth expensive and substandard venue. Maybe they could drop the lease a bit and give them some breathing room to improve.

Table service is really bad! No one comes to your table. <br/>Even they have seen you wave to them.. they are blind... .............speechless . We won’t come here again.
Auntykittay
Hm. Not quite sure how I felt about the food... confused? I had the steak tartare which was good and also the crab linguine.. the tartare was ok.. it kind of tasted like they put Cheetos on top? The linguine was very mushy and i didnt particularly enjoy it. Hubby had the korean prawns which were tough and overcooked and the batter mushy. It was also very overpowering in taste. Beautiful setting and location but we wont be back unfortunately as the food was very dissapointing :(

Actual rating: 4.5/5<br/><br/>Phenomenal breakfast/brunch options. Thought the beef brisket benny would be too heavy but on the contrary - had wonderfully airy bread, perfectly poached eggs and tender beef - perfection. Harvest bowl was even better, a very thoughtful combination of miso, wakame, barley, kale, etc - a beautiful harmony of texture and flavour. Decent coffee as well.<br/><br/>Price is on the higher side but bear in mind you are paying for one of the best views in Perth, perched right upon the beachfront.

Delicious, creative fresh tasting food, great ambience and fabulous location. I have been to Odyssea for breakfast and lunch quite a few times and I have never been disappointed.

Came here for lunch with a friend who hadn't been before, the service was great and very fast and the food was delicious.  The Valrhona milk chocolate dessert was particularly tasty. The atmosphere was light and airy and we had a great view of the seafront from our table.

My partner and I visited Odyssea for the first time a few weekends ago on the recommendation of a friend. We were not disappointed. Odessa has got the whole package, great food, fantastic service (a rare beast it seems these days) and great views. Oh, and it wasn't that noisy (which was surprising as there are lots of hard surfaces).  We decided to share the Exmouth Cobia for entree which was a massive mistake....it was far too tasty to share. The lime gave the fish a really fresh finish and the coconut made it lovely and silky to eat and softened the chilli a bit. And it was really fresh fish. Delish!! For main I had the pasta with the Shark Bay crab and while the serve looked a little small on the plate it was just enough for me to feel comfortable and, importantly, still have room for dessert.  My partner had the suffolk lamb which was ridiculously tender that chewing was not really required.  For dessert I had the raspberry meringue with mango and passionfruit. The raspberry is in the meringue so it really cuts down on the sweetness. My partner had the black forrest which was kind deconstructed and very chocolatey and tasty. Both were recommendations from our waitress who was really attentive, she had a nice balance of friendly and chatty without being in your face. The drinks waiter was also really good at keeping a fresh supply of water to our table and keeping our drinks topped up.  So different from the experience we had next door. We would definitely come back here again.

Wow this place has it all! Fabulous food, friendly and attentive staff and of course amazing beach views. Absolutely everything we had including the delicious cocktails and desserts were amazing! Definitely going back!

Average service. Below average food-$7 for bread that looked like it was cut by a toddler and not even fresh. $34 for 5 mushy prawns and a bowl of tomatoes-prawns tasted like they had been defrosted and left on ice for too long!<br/>Views nice, but the prices they’re charging for the food is ridiculous for the quality of the food and service..better places to eat for the price

Food was good <br/>Service was ok <br/>The guy at the cashier was beyond rude <br/><br/>We went there for our friends birthday on 5 Jan 19<br/>It was a large group table <br/>I guess that would be a hospitality nightmare <br/>I know with large groups service is difficult <br/>I think they have done well with the service given it was a busy warm Saturday night <br/><br/>Big problem was at the cashier as we were splitting the bill at the cashier I think a guy called Andrea was quite rude as he lost his passion and told us off that we needed to hurry up <br/><br/>There was no one behind us and he could have asked politely <br/><br/>This is something managers should address <br/><br/>People perhaps will always come there but you will never know it is because of good food and service or just solely the incredible location <br/><br/>Anyways people of Odyssea, things to think about <br/>table 412 cust:13<br/>Good luck <br/><br/>Btw, tortillas rocks - respect to chief

Visited this place on the last evening for dinner in perth and it’s located on the side of the best beach in perth.<br/>Has the loveliest sunset view and wonderful ambiance. They also give blankets if you want to enjoy the cool breeze sitting outdoors.<br/>We ordered food, hot chocolate and a few drinks—everything was very nice.<br/>Ambiance- 5/5* <br/>Food - 4/5*

Great service and delicious meals.<br/>My family and I came here for breakfast over the weekend and Odyssea did not disappoint.<br/>We had a great table near the window to take in a beautiful view of the water. And to top it off the meals were tasty, very good portion sizes and good value for the money. And the cinnamon hot chocolate was delicious! The pastries and cakes also looked incredible, but unfortunately I was too full to try one..<br/>Will definitely return soon to check out lunch or dinner!

Came here for dinner on a Friday night just before the public holiday with my family. It was a busy night but the staff here are still so helpful and friendly. The view was amazing, we were able to watch the sun go down and it’s the perfect place to take your date. Anyway the food...it was amazing! We ordered two dozens of oysters to start off with, natural and fried both fresh and tasty. The chicken pate which had a lovely smooth texture and Came with the perfect amount of bread. Then for mains we ordered salmon, fried chicken, lamb, steak and the risotto. I have no complaints about any of these, it was that good! And the dessert, the creme brulee! YOU MUST try the creme brulee! It was just perfect, perfect consistency and a crunchy layer of sugar crisp. You have exceeded my expectations Odyssea.

$35 for a breakfast and coffee is a joke! $24 for avo on a tiny piece of toast with a few pieces of corn and then i added bacon for another $6 so in total $30 for a breakfast and still left hungry. How can you justify charging so much for avo on toast is beyond me. It was tasty and i love the venue and have been before but come on. We go out for breakfast often and have never had to pay $30 for myself. Feeling ripped off. :(

Gave this restaurant last weekend and came out feeling bitterly disappointed.  Prices are not cheap, so I would have expected service and portion sized would counterbalance.  Alas, No.<br/><br/>Wife ordered some fresh oysters.  They came out the size of 20c piece.  <br/><br/>For a restaurant that wasn't even half full, service was woeful in my section.  When there was no waitstaff around, I had to get up and seek service twice from waiters of a different section:  Once to ask for tomato sauce for a kids meal, the second was to ask for a drink that I ordered before my meal came.    Imagine how frustrated I would be at this point.  Blunted the taste of the Mogumber steak.<br/><br/>Gave honest feedback to their manager at bill time.  He apologised but did not offer any remedy.  The saving grace for me was the use of the Entertainment Card discount.<br/>Needless to say, we won't be considering this place for a long long time.

If you've ever thought of having a large group event at Odyssea, my advice to you is DON’T.<br/>I just had the most frustrating booking experience ever due to their inflexibility with their menu as well as payment options, even though I have given them some inputs and solutions on how to deal with the situation (based on my own experience working in hospitality industry for more than 5 years!). The owners are rude and the guy (I won’t mention his name) just left in the middle of a discussion because he was frustrated of my requests which I know is not complicated at all. We plan to have a baby shower of 20 people and we would like to choose from a la carte menu instead of set menu but they FORCED us to take the set menu because they don’t want the kitchen to be OVERWHELMED with a la carte orders from 20 people from the same table! They also said it’s their “policy” that people should order from set menu when they come with more than 10 people! When I gave them solutions (which should be the other way around), they said “it seems like you are trying to change our policy”… ???? REALLY??? It really just shows me that they are incapable and inexperience of accommodating a large group of people. They really need to change their silly policy and keep up with the rest of the world because guess what? The restaurant right next to them easily took my bookings so we decided to celebrate with them instead! Good luck staying in business for the next 5 years Odyssea.

I have heard so many great reviews from my colleagues about Odyssea. It opened with such fanfare with the media publicity. But somehow I have always been dubious about restaurants or cafes with great ocean views. I convinced my darling today to check out Odyssea on this sunny winters day. I was lucky he was in a good mood and agreed. I was surprised it was not crowded at lunchtime. Perhaps the hype has died? We were seated facing the ocean. What a fantastic view! I decided to go for King Prawns and my darling chose the roast pumpkin. I felt that my dish had been sitting in the kitchen for a while before I was served. Cold prawns 🍤 on a cold winters day did not fill the spot. My dish also looked and tasted super oily. I felt underwhelmed. My darling’s roast pumpkin was even more pathetic. It was a measly piece of smashed pumpkin with some kale thrown on top and topped again with lots of oil! This vindicated my gut feel that places with great views should be avoided at all cost.
Some Like It Hot
Only went for drinks but what a great place to sit for an hour on a sunny winters day. Great views, really decent hot chocolate. My friend had oysters and wine and she was happy. The food that other customers had ordered looked good. Really good friendly service.<br/><br/>Second visit for lunch on sat 31 July 2018<br/>No booking but we were able to get a table. Nice friendly staff. My friend and I both ordered the crab linguine. I have to say I was extremely disappointed with the dish. Barely any crab and pasta topped with pesto and what appeared to be breadcrumbs. Totally ruined it for me. Very dry and tasteless. Nice venue though.

Came to Odyssea with friends for Sunday brunch. I was the first to arrive and the waiter directed me to our table, put a bottle of water down on the table and walked away before I had even got to the table (I was a bit slow because I was trying to manoeuvre my pram through the restaurant), I could only assume that it was our table because he had put the bottle of water down on it. Anyhoo - the remainder of the service was prompt and friendly. The view was lovely over looking the ocean and it was a nice sunny day. I had the avocado, which was tasty but I felt it needed a sauce to bring it together as it was a bit “dry”.

Have had many take away coffees and friands from their kiosk which have been great. The French girl makes the best coffee and she is always friendly no matter how busy. <br/>However we went for breakfast this morning at the restaurant and it was disappointing! Service was friendly but slow to serve meals. Both dishes served were cold. My fitters were underwhelming. They lacked flavour and both meals were served with toast slightly burnt with heavy burnt flavour. Small serves, OK pricing - wouldn’t necessarily return for a meal. It’s a shame with such a beautiful view. <br/>

Really low quality. Food was cold and lacked taste. Will not return to this place. Smoothy was the only thing that decent. The view is nice.

I went to Odyssea for my anniversary lunch. I’ve heard many good things about this restaurant prior visiting and I must say they delivered. The food was amazing and big portion (may have over ordered! As usual! 😅) so it was worth the price and ontop of that you get a nice view. Perfect lunch and thanks to their staff, very lovely people 😀

Went their for my husbands birthday. We loved the place. Good food and ambiance. Staff is friendly as well. Good place to unwind and have a good meal.

Having sit down for food and a breakfast the first time here. Been here for quite a few afternoons for just a take-away coffee. Not disappointing, with heaps of customers enjoying a Sunday's breakkie and you could imagine how busy the restaurant (and how good they are). Of course the location is a perfect to have a good ocean view and the soft morning sea breeze is really a good compliment to the food. The service was nice too. We had a flat white with a birdie latte art, the waiter just said it supposed to be a swan but changed to a pelican somehow !! The food was yummy too. Well cooked with fresh ingredients - and you can easily tell just by the look. Will definitely be back if in town again.

Another great restaurant in Perth ticked off the list, finally! After spending many hours at the beach, sunbathing and swimming, it was with much excited anticipation that I booked in for lunch. <br/>The service was friendly and efficient, the still water was refreshing and regularly topped up, as we found some shade outside. <br/>It’s a really nicely fitted out place, with a ton of seats and a million dollar view. <br/>Our meal choices included the fried chicken on rice, homemade pasta with rabbit stew, Korean pork belly tacos, and the home fried potatoes. Everything was super good, and we were somewhat reluctant to share our plates! <br/>Would definitely heard back again.

The breakfasts are really good. I was hungry and forgot to take a picture. Both hubby and I had Eggs Benedict. The smoked ham was very tasty and the eggs done perfectly. The serving size was generous. <br/>Will return for dinner.

Yea not bad, people go the view i guess<br/>Food was great, potatos are delicious<br/>Wait staff was abit awkward<br/>Yet to try their breakfast! . . . .
The Loud Table Blog
As anyone from Perth can agree, there is no better view for breakfast, lunch or dinner than dining on the white beaches of the West Coast and overlooking the Indian Ocean. What a way to debut our first official Loud Table meal than visiting Odyssea Beach Café for a light lunch! When we first walked in we were immediately greeted, made to feel special by the staff and promptly seated in the Alfresco area overlooking the Beach.<br/><br/>Food.<br/>Our first choice was the Korean Spiced Fried Chicken Tortillas. Which was sensational - Jamie and I both agreed we would die happy eating those flour wrapped spicy chicken goodness! Not to mention it’s beautiful presentation on the serving board is always a great way to start a meal...Click through to our website to see the full review

Had breakfast here today, beautiful setting great coffee and amazing bircher muesli.<br/>Shame that the female maitre d' was so officious and abrupt and our male waiter didn't want to crack a smile. Such a dissapointment that our dining experience was spoilt by unfriendly waitstaff as everything else was wonderful.
Bec White
A lovely place to have lunch. Fantastic service, a nice view and decor, and super yum food and cocktails. I had the lamb, and my friends had the Korean chicken tacos and the eye fillet and it was all great. The dessert was good too (although not amazing). It isn’t cheap, but it is worth it.

Want brunch at 11am on a Sunday? Don’t go to Odyssea! Despite dozens of empty tables we were turned away at the door because they were “setting up for lunch”...
Tracyryan
Beautiful venue and stunning sunset. Salmon was very tasty. Unfortunately the service or lack of, lets this place. Drinks were forgotten and attendants were not friendly. <br/>
Lisa_tee
We decided on a beautiful day to visit Odyssea for brunch. Big mistake. Whilst the service was fine, my brunch was probably the worst thing I have order from any cafe or restaurant for years. Two hunks of avocado thrown on top of the smallest piece of toast you can find. Two cold soft boiled eggs, a couple of pieces of beetroot and a tiny smear of labne. There was supposed to be some nuts and spices but beyond a few sprinkled on one piece of spinach leaf I couldn't find any. As for seasoning there was zilch. Then came the potato cakes. Bland, no seasoning, luke warm. <br/>Seriously guys, just because of the location doesn't mean you can put zero effort into your food. Especially with the price tag.
50 Cafes In 50 Days
Love the coffees here. Take away or dine in always perfect. The view is stunning too. You can sit in the balcony with the windows closed on a blustery day so you can still enjoy the views and stay warm. One of the better views of our coast with excellent coffees.

Delicious food with amazing views. Reasonable pricetag for good quality is always a plus. Staff are very friendly, providing good (and fast) service. Have eaten for breakfast and dinner here, both top notch, although 65 degree eggs weird me out a little.
Sonya
I have come here many times before for food and drinks to watch the sunset and have yet to have a bad experience. To start with all staff I have come into contact with are all extremely helpful and pleasant to talk to. <br/>On this particular occasion myself and a friend ordered two share plates between us as well as a side of royal blue potatoes which are continuously delicious and perfectly seasoned every time I order them. We also had the beer battered snapper and the charred sweet potato. The fish was cooked to perfection and couldn’t fault it except to say the small amount of quite basic enough food was expensive for $24. The sweet potato was extremely interesting especially with the extra sweetness from the maple syrup but it really worked. Well worth doubling up on the carbs! <br/>Extensive drinks list but bring back the “Lady&T” cocktails please they were divine!
Tess Grapsas
A group of us went to Odyssea for dinner last week and we ordered entrees, mains and desserts. Every single dish was done to perfection. I had the house pasta and was licking my bowl to finish it. Thanks for an amazing night Odyssea!

UPDATED REVIEW - changing from 3* to 5*<br/>Had lunch much with Hubby and Master Three and Master 6 weeks. Absolutely amazing. Food was perfect. Service even more perfect. Exactly what the ocean beach waterfront needs and great to see that after some time they are constituent with their service and quality!! <br/><br/>Stopped in with hubby and Master Three and had coffees and cake... very slow and inattentive service... but ambience and food was undeniably the best north the river on the ocean front. Best nd only Soufra I have ever had!!

Outstanding food, personable service and a warm, delightful ambience. I went to Odyssea's exclusive seafood dinner this week and as someone who isn't a big fan of seafood, I came out craving for more! The prawns, scallops, fish and dessert were great but the crab with polenta stole the show. The drinks were well matched and the service was friendly, detailed and seamless. Great evening and will be back.

Location is amazing, very nice terrace with beautiful view and bonus that they allow your pup to sit with you!<br/>We had the market fish with turmeric broth, octopus and grilled zucchini all of which were amazing especially the fish and came out very quickly. Staff was very friendly and accomodating too. Yes it is a little on the pricey side but it defiantly reflects in the food and it was definitely worth it! Highly recommend!

After a couple of disappointing meals around town in the last few days, today was the day where I said in a quite no nonsense way to Mr Foodie that I wanted to eat lunch at somewhere that I KNOW is good! So off we set to Odyssea... Once again we were not disappointed! <br/>We were seated in a lovely spot on the balcony overlooking the beach right next to the heater.. Which was fabulous as it was a little cold outside.<br/>The service was attentive & as usual the food was amazing! I have been consistently impressed with the presentation & flavour of the dishes. Today I tried the wild rice crusted salmon with delicious Asian soy/Ginger sauce & sweet wasabi cream...it was so GOOD! Mr Foodie tried the king prawn pasta which went down a treat..he was very happy. The wine was Divine too! <br/>Very satisfied customer!

Cannot fault the view or the breakfast. The menu regularly changes and they have innovative and seasonal offerings. Unfortunately lunch and dinner experiences never seem to be quiet as good as breakfast, with a few occasions of clunky service and average food. The breakfast and coffee are so good we will continue to go back, and will be regulars for aperol spritz on the balcony in Summer! <br/><br/>Another great bonus is that dogs are allowed on the side deck.

Visited the cafe because of its location, judging from its interior and ambience, i kinda expected the food to be good but it was a disappointment. The food presentation for good. I hope the menu improves. Drinks list was extensive, i loved the cocktail they made. Customer service was great.

Went here for dinner on a beautiful sunny evening. Great location and ambience but food was a bit lackluster - not bad but not great either. I say just come here for a drink or two but not for a proper meal.

Heard good things so went there for a special occasion, but it turned out to special for all the wrong reasons. The location and view were perfect and the staff and service flawless, but the food. Oh God. I thought it would be a seafood restaurant judging by the name and location, and while there were a number of seafood options amongst the entrees, there was just one in the mains. And that was swordfish, which doesn't ring my bell. She Who Must Be Adored had the Persian chicken which was average and oily, and I was cursed with one of the worst sirloin steaks I've ever paid money for -- which is not good considering it was $42. It was undercooked, fatty, stringy and tasteless. Literally tasteless. It could have been wet cardboard. The local pub's $15 Tuesday night special is infinitely better. And stone cold by the time I was halfway through. To cap it all off, the meals came in vast bowls with high sides like some sort of washing ewer. Never going back. Ever.

A beautiful Building and friendly staff. A very different kind of menu but that's a good thing. Good value and recommended, but don't come here if you want any type of egg other than slow poached
El
Wonderful restaurant. It's beautifully decorated (I can see it being a great wedding reception venue) - elegant and still a bit casual. The staff are very very nice, and not pushy (we took forever to decide on desserts). The view is very nice - it would be more worthwhile going in Summer so you can enjoy the view for longer.<br/>The food was great! The Kangaroo fillet was very soft and tasty with all the bits and pieces on top of the fillet adding a great balance to the plate. The potato dumpling with slow cooked lamb was divine - potato dumpling was so soft and the lamb was melting in your mouth. The tagliatelle was a great combination of flavours. The desserts were very decent sizes (I was expecting tiny portions as they sounded so fancy) and very interesting! <br/>The only thing I didn't like is that the Entrees aren't big enough for sharing (I mean you don't get more than a single mouthful).
Lesley Clancy
Food, service & ambience were top-notch. 5 of us went for lunch and ordered different meals. All 5 mains were beautifully presented and delicious. 3 of us had desserts - 2 of us enjoyed our choice, but the 3rd didn't like his - but he still ate it all!!. Have no hesitation in recommending this venue.

Beautiful views and has a lively and vibrant atmosphere. Wait staff are clean and friendly.<br/><br/>Unusual wordings on their menu: descriptive such as 65c Poached Egg (aren't they supposed to be cooked at 65c anyway) and then non-descriptive Green Leaves (referring to rocket). I'm guessing the recent egg scare must have had something to do with their wording.<br/><br/>We added a very little bit of cut chilli to a few of our dishes to give it a flavour kick, and just a crack of salt. Enjoyed the pastrami dish.
Mary Lou
Lovely view. Would not have the poached eggs on toast again - understand that the menu says they are slow poached at a low temperature, but they were freezing cold and absolutely raw. Nice Bircher muesli. Inattentive service.

This is my third visit as it's always a pleasant dining experience. I joined a girlfriend for Sunday lunch and we took our time sharing and grazing on different small plates, enjoying the gorgeous view and autumn sunshine on the balcony. The fish tortilla's never disappoint. My friend enjoyed the oysters and the choice of different sauces that you can choose from. We also shared the octopus which was nice but the seafood pieces were very small. The parmesan truffle sliced potato is so good! We polished them off no problem and the carbs helped fill us up seeing we were only ordering from the small plate part of the menu because to be honest nothing appealed to us that day from the larger plates. Our waitress was lovely but unfortunately we had an incident were she spilled my coffee over the table and over me, including my new dress. But the staff were wonderful in helping me to clean myself up and soon after a man (possibly the manager?) came to speak to me, offered his card and told me to contact him if my dress needed dry cleaning and they would cover the costs. I appreciated the gesture but would have also appreciated deducting the coffees off the bill, which they did not do. But accidents happen and I told him I hope the waitress is not in trouble. This place has constantly very good (not great) food and with the view you can't go wrong.

I had the misfortune of going to this Cafe on Easter Sunday. The lady who sat us at our table was totally ignorant of our needs and didn't bother to ask,so we accepted that. Then we sat there for 20 minutes with no approach from any staff member,so we went up and tried to place our order but were told that they will come and take our order.Needless to say after another 15 minutes no approach still.<br/>At this point we left the cafe we spoke to another couple who had the same service and they also left. We went next door to Rise which was excellent both in food and service. This is another example of a Perth eatery that needs to lift their game.<br/>Customers beware....<br/><br/>Surprise Surprise I had a family friend go to this cafe on the weekend and guess what the service was atrocious there words not mine.

Came for breakfast for my dad's birthday, everyone enjoyed their meal and we really liked our position out on the balcony with a lovely view. There is no 'big breakfast' option, with extras starting at $4 it can get a bit expensive but nothing extortionate. You can't book on the weekend which makes coming with larger groups a bit tricky (we were a party of 6) but normally it's no more than a 20 minute wait. I had the feta/avocado dish which was very tasty.
Selenator1989
I went with a group of friends and we were seated in the outside area. Service was really good and the food was quite tasty. I got the linguine and fish tacos. Not the best linguine I had but the fish tacos were absolutely delicious! I also got dessert which tasted just as good as looked! The prices were a little on the expensive side considering the food wasn't too fancy but I would still go back. The atmosphere was great!

Went for breakfast with a group of girlfriends. Beautiful venue in a gorgeous location. Staff were friendly. Menu was disappointing. Not everyone enjoys 65 degree cooked eggs and everything else had to ordered as a side and came in separate dishes. All a bit much when you just want good honest delicious food. Not sure what they are trying to achieve. Would return for coffee as the location is so lovely.

I have eaten at Odyssea Cafe at least 8-10 times now since it opened, and every time it is great. I love the decor, the service is fantastic and the food always good. Yes its a little more expensive than an every day kind of restaurant but I think it is worth it. You can drop in for coffee, breakfast, lunch dinner or an afternoon cheeky wine and nibble. Outside seating in summer is amazing with a view that rivals the best in the world.
Deb
Food was fabulous, we shared 2 Share plates and the goats cheese tart as our meal for lunch, all were tasty, fresh and divine! Service was average, except for maitre d, who was arrogant and unfriendly. We had booked 2 weeks in advance and requested inside table as it can be unpleasant on the verandah if windy. It wasn't windy and I arrived first asked if we could sit at empty table on the verandah and told no, they were all booked. Two of them were not set and it seemed people walked in and got those tables. My friend arrived 10minutes later, saw the empty tables and also asked the same woman to be told No, you can't move except to sit in the cafe section, seating is not as comfortable so we declined the suggestion. When we ordered coffee and dessert there was about 8-10 tables on the verandah empty, we asked our waitress if we could have our coffee and dessert on the verandah, she had to ask the same woman. We decided to move to one of these empty tables anyway in case we were told No again and heard the woman, who was in charge, say to the waitress, "those women are obsessed with sitting on the verandah", unfortunately not said in a nice way. We did not let her attitude spoil our lunch, but it is confusing when the view is a massive attraction and we felt like naughty children for asking to see it better! Hence the low rating for poor service from the one person who should be modeling customer service to her staff but instead modeled a won't do attitude!

Environment was nice, service was great.<br/>However the mains were horrible, only thing I enjoyed from here were the desserts.<br/>We had the Tasmanian salmon, eggplant entree which were very average, the northwest squid with corriander salad and beans was the most disappointing dish I've ever eaten. <br/>It came out in squid rings that felt like it was frozen but wasn't defrosted enough before cooking. It was rubbery, chewy, rough textured and just tasted artificial. I know how overcooked real squid taste like and it doesn't even taste like this. Way overpriced for the poor quality of food we got.

Just Cofee And Almond croissant for breakfast today. Taste for both was really good. The Barrista has been very gentle and professional, went to their internal bakery to ask if any Almond croissant were present because they had finish on the cafe. <br/>Great view on the ocean. <br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/>

Sat on the deck for more than 20 minutes waiting for someone to take our order. The main waiter for our area went to extraordinary lengths to avoid our gaze. Eventually he approached the couple next to us who'd only been there 5 minutes and asked if they would like something to drink. Either we were invisible or he was just plain incompetent. We walked next door to Hamptons and received fantastic service and attention
Olivia B
Ultimate location overlooking the ocean. Quality of food was amazing and service was second to none. You'll pay the price for it though but I think it's worth it.
Verity De Fries
Gorgeous location, and surprisingly shielded from the wind even though it was a bit blowy out on the beach. Staff here were really friendly and attentive. Being able to do split billing was a bonus!<br/>Coffee was good, and each of our 4 breakfasts were delicious. The grains bowl was fantastic; generous sized, perfect slow poached egg, and the siracha yogurt was amazing.<br/>Great spot for brunch, but I imagine dinner here with the sunset over the beach would be spectacular!

Went there for Sunday Lunch..Amazing service, location, atmosphere and food....all the staff went above and beyond...Thanks very much 😀will be back very soon.

Yes the location is amazing and the restaurant / decor is really nice too.  Its pretty new so it should be. The service was fine - not pushy or pretentious. The food was acceptable, one of us had the kangaroo (unfortunately just couldn't cut thru the 'roasted' parsnips they were so hard), and I had the Fish of the day (golden snapper I think - somewhere under all the mint).  Both nice (not wow, amazing or anything to rave about - but fine). However, its just so overpriced. A bowl of green olives is $7. Yes they were nice - but it was just a bowl of olives. No garnish, evidence of chilli or lemon. And $26 for the cheese board was ridiculous. Two tiny pieces of cheese, and more crackers / lavash than anything else.  For the prices (and location / hype) I just expected more.

Great view, great service and dinner food! Absolutely enjoyed the fish tortillas, chips and eggplant salad. The mushroom linguini main was too salty but the grilled fish and the poached Tasmanian salmon was delish. Would love to try breakfast here one day
Candycancan
Came here a few months ago and was impressed. Great location with beautiful views of the ocean. Service was very friendly and attentive. Cocktails were delicious and food was fabulous!
Le Consuela
Location is beautiful and you can sit outside with your dog which I love. Have been twice for breakfast and I never know what to order from their menu - I don't understand why they don't have some general things that aren't wanky on there. Not everyone wants lamb or ricotta whip for breakfast. I had a coffee and muffin which was nice. Service a bit slow but understandable as it gets very busy. Would recommend including some eggs benedict, pancakes, French toast on the menu.

The vibe is casual, just like the food. But the view of the Indian ocean is nothing short of spectacular. It might have been a long time coming for this stretch of paradise along City Beach where my sister and her family lives in Perth. Finally, gone is the dated old beach arena of yesteryear.
Just Another Aussie In Vancouver
The service can be a little so so, but the food is fantastic and the view is to die for! Trust me and get the lamb hash for breakfast, it's not a traditional breakfast meal, but it's sooooo good!

Great spot for lunch and heaps of seating inside and outside. They do accommodate walk-ins but I made a quick last minute reservation on their website just to be sure for Saturday lunch. Just note that Odyssea does change their menu so some dishes we ordered may not be offered. <br/><br/>So my friend and I ordered:<br/><br/>-Potato gnocchi with Exmouth banana prawns, tomato, chilli, basil and cream $28. The gnocchi was made in house and it was absolutely delicious! Decent size and the sauce was full of flavour. My friend is vegetarian so the waiter said the prawns can be served as a side rather in the main dish which was really convenient and helpful. <br/><br/>- Woodside goats curd with spiced balsamic pickled bag vegetables, citrus and candies hazelnuts $19. This was a really yummy dish but wished they gave more of everything especially the goats curd with was smeared on the bottom of the plate. <br/><br/>- Charred brussel sprouts, chilli, lemon and smoked ricotta salata $12. This was an ok dish. I couldn't taste any of the chilli or lemon in the dish. The smoked ricotta salata was also pretty much nonexistent. I wouldn't order this dish again. <br/><br/>- Cheesecake brownie. We had a slice of the cheesecake brownie and it was dry unfortunately. Slightly disappointed to finish off our meal on that note. <br/><br/>Drinks:<br/>- I ordered the Aperol Spritz $12. It's refreshing and for the price it was pretty decent. My friend order the lemonade which she enjoyed. <br/><br/>Overall I loved the atmosphere of Odyssea and will visit again but service started off good but ended up a hit and miss as the place started getting busy. We had to wait 15minutes just to get a waiter to get our bill. <br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/>

Yeah the locations great, (be in trouble without it) but the biggest joke about this place is its menu. Trying to hard to be sophisticated & cute.Get back to basics that work & for godsake,..... put some food on the plate <br/><br/>One of the most limited selections of menu options I’ve seen in a long time. Especially breakfasts. Not one decent big breakfast option available on the menu. Had to join parts of the menu to try & get something that resembled a big breakfast. Came out in dribs & drabs, as “sides” whilst the rest went cold & end up costing over $30, what a rip off & shambles<br/><br/> Really had hoped when the hamptons opened the extra competition would lift the quality of odyssea, not so. If not for the views & beach, would struggle big time in amongst some quality competition.

Came for lunch on a Saturday. The service was absolutely amazing, friendly and very helpful staff! Food is delicious, especially the fish tacos! A huge plus they have an area for your fur babies too!

Visited for lunch on Tuesday and it was extremely busy. Ordered the scallops, sashimi salmon, octopus, gnocchi and side of snow pea salad. The scallops highly recommend with the gnocchi. The octopus was tender, but had a little smell to it. The sashimi was fresh, but I disliked the soy sauce jello with these seed like sprinkles. The concept is interesting, but not for me. The snow pea salad was very tasty. Overall I'd share because you get to try more than opting for one main.
? Mmm
Such a great venue with an exceptional view! It was just fabulous.<br/><br/>The food was amazing and was very quick which we appreciated, loved the different meals! The cocktails were also phenomenal which were a twist on traditional ones. <br/><br/>The only issue we had was the following:<br/><br/>- staff stacked dirty plates and cutlery right next to my ear!!!!!! The staff need training on proper waiting, you DO NOT stack dishes in front of the guests at the table especially! You just take the dishes away in each hand quietly if you cannot do the arm thing.<br/><br/>- we were the last group outside and it was only 8.30pm and the staff started moving and stacking furniture from the larger groups that had left which was so noisy and so irritating while we were trying to have a romantic evening. There were all these staff hanging around it was not pleasant for the $160 we spent! It is standard to wait until everyone has left before moving any furniture. <br/><br/>- There was also no background music on outside so at the end all we could listen to were the staff chatting while we were trying to have a conversation. so much for ambience.<br/><br/>- offered us blankets at the end of our dinner when we were just about to leave. would have loved them at the start it was freezing!

We went to Odyssea for breakfast this morning, we have been there a number of times for breakfast , Lunch & Dinner, the staff are consistently friendly and the food is always excellent as is the fantastic view.<br/><br/>We had the Torbay asparagus, cured salmon, fennel, goats curd, soft boiled egg, sourdough toast & the Lamb shoulder hash, courgette, pea, coriander, fried egg harissa hollandaise, both were delicious.<br/><br/>We will be returning to Odyssea soon.

Yesterday at lunch time I decided to go to the Odyssea Beach Cafe. The venue was not busy but the service I received was terrible. After I sat down, I waited 22 minutes for somebody to come and take my order before I walked out of this restaurant. I think it's a bit ridiculous that somewhere situated in such a beautiful location can have such terrible service. Never mind I ended up going somewhere else and the customer service was much better
Jen
My 2nd visit to odyssey for breakfast on the weekend was just as fantastic as the first. Seated immediately at 10.30am, service fast & friendly food delicious and what a view! I had the salmon ceviche with asparagus and soft boiled egg, was amazing! <br/>Early this year we had a group booking of 16 for a baby shower. We had 2 long table inside in the middle of the restaurant. The manager and staff could not have been more accommodating for 16 excited girls, some with babies in prams. It was such a nice morning which could have been the opposite had the staff been so great. <br/>Absolutely Recommend Odyssea. Looking forward to trying the other menus!

Romantic sunset dinner for two delivered perfectly by Odyssea. <br/>Casual dining with a hint of elegance meant my husband was completely comfortable in his linen jacket and I in my lovely dress.<br/>Beside us others were more casual but it felt ok.<br/>Out small table cleverly angled so we both could watch the sunset.<br/>Menu is seasonal and mouthwatering and modern twist on some classics to keep things interesting.<br/>Share plates had us leaning in and wiping the plate clean! The baked goats curd a triumph!!<br/>Mains and my husband was delighted with his gnocchi although the promised "banana" prawns were on the small side and had a look of having been frozen.<br/>My pork belly was delicious but way too much kimchi powder overpowered the pork & was way too dry on the palate.<br/>Dessert was very sweet.<br/>Great wine list and lovely dessert wines by the glass.<br/>Can't beat the view.
Foodnmytum
Absolutely freezing outside for dinner. They give you blankets, but when it's blowing outside, you and your guests spend the evening shivering. Sadly this affected the food too- the gnocchi was cold immediately- perhaps they didn't warm up the plates beforehand. The Brussel sprouts were burnt on the outside, hard on the inside, and doused in chilli and other spices that your mouth just retained this unpleasant black mess. The potatoes were delicious (again went cold straight away), the drinks were lovely, the services was great at the start but we needed to keep flagging for service as the night went on and the guests thinned out. I think this is a spectacular place, with beautiful potential- just needs some fine tuning, and if you are going to sit outside, don't do it on a windy night!<br/><br/>***UPDATE*** have now gone back for the third time and the service is still poor. Waited 45mins before someone came by to get our first drink order, then when we kept asking the waiter came over and said "have you come up for air?" A bit rude mate. We've been waiting for you the whole time! We were seated next to the waiter's stand outside and kept asking to get served. Later on we got a glass with lipstick around it so we pointed out to the waiter and he said "it's not yours?" We said no so HE RAISED THE GLASS IN FRONT OF MY FRIENDS FACE TO CHECK. Yep. Then later on we had to ask to order dessert and the first person said what they wanted and the waiter said "what?" <br/><br/>Overall shit service. Sorry odyssea you should know better.

I wanted to go somewhere special for my birthday and friends suggested Odysea. Eating out is tough as I  have to stick to a low FODMAP diet. It's a huge pain, very restrictive and I always have to check the menu before I eat out now. I've been caught too many times. Garlic and onions are the main problem and are very difficult to avoid.<br/><br/>I was surprised and delighted that Odyssea's booking form asked about food intolerances and there were a number of things on the menu that looked onion/garlic free. As it's too hard to list the whole FODMAP family, I put down garlic and onion on the booking form and wondered whether anyone would note it when I got to the restaurant. They didn't. <br/><br/>I explained the garlic/onion issue to our waiter tasked if the gnocchi or the pork belly would be ok. This is how the conversation went:<br/><br/>Waiter: I don't know sorry. <br/>Me: Could you please ask the chef?<br/>Waiter: Ok.. [comes back] No, you can't have those. They have garlic/onion in.<br/>Me: Ok, what is safe for me to eat?<br/>Waiter: I don't know.<br/>Me: Could you please go and find out?<br/>Waiter: Ok. [comes back]. You could have [lists off 3 dishes, all of which have high FODMAP components. E.g the salmon on hommus with walnuts].<br/>Me: Are you sure they can't do the gnocchi without garlic?<br/>Waiter: No, they can't.<br/><br/>I ended up having the fish tacos and the mozerella. One came with a raddichio jam which presumably had onion in it. The other came with a small cup of salad doused in dressing, which presumably had garlic in it. I did not have a comfortable night and spent the next morning running to the toilet. <br/><br/>It is baffling that my local $12/dish take-away Chinese restaurant has offered to cook almost any of their dishes sans onion/garlic but Odyssea which actually ASKS on their booking form about such issues were unhelpful, inflexible and quite simply, careless. They also did not reply to my email which stated exactly what I have written above. Don't eat here if you have any food intolerances, or if you are supportive of friends who do.

Will never be back and will never say anything good about this place.<br/><br/>I have been to Odysea a couple of times and on both times been disappointed with service and food. On my third visit we ordered a nice bottle of wine ($180) off the menu to celebrate my parent's anniversary. Watched the "sommelier", as he called himself, take the wine to the other end of the restaurant to decant it, where unknown to him, was in plain sight of where I was seated. I watched him pour himself a glass before emptying the bottle into the decanter noting that he didn't taste the wine from the glass before making his way to our table with the decanter. When questioned about it he told me it was completely normal and he'd been doing it for 20 years to check the wine wasn't corked. He offered to bring the wine he'd taken back to me, which I said I didn't want, whereafter he proceeded (still in plain sight) to pour half of the wine he'd taken into another glass and bring it to our table. <br/><br/>When paying I asked the manager about it, whom had nothing to say other than he was disappointed to hear things like this. He offered no compensation and so I had to instruct him to remove the glass of wine that they had stolen from us off the menu price of the wine. Will never go back and will never suggest anyone go here.

Positives- Beautiful location. Loved being able to take our dog out with us for sunset drinks. <br/>Negatives- rude waitress. Overpriced. Limited small food options to share whilst having a drink.

One of the prettiest dish was the grilled Australian sea scallops that was served in half shell. On the shell there was truffle cauliflower puree as well as crisp pancetta, a killer combo for this dish!It was so good that we were seated with some people who didn't mind to share their food. I didn't order the roasted Tasmanian salmon but I was able to try it! The mint, hummus, coriander and the cooked through salmon flesh was really pleasant. The herbs really supported the freshness of the salmon especially with some drizzled lime juice.  Jeremy ordered the gluten free Torbay Asparagus which he really loved. He vowed to eat more asparagus after he finished the whole dish. His meal was quite light and just enough if you're looking for a light dinner option. The thinly sliced Prosciutto di Parma went well with the torbay asparagus.

Lunch here was a fairly good experience, great location, food very good. Service not so great though they forgot about our dessert, we waited for nearly an hour but finally gave up and left. We found it quite noisy, with the tables too close together, making conversation difficult. We'll give it another go though and see if the negatives are reversed. <br/><br/>Anna

It was just okay!<br/>The location was the highlight. I didn't like the menu and the food for what you got was way over priced. I got the beer battered snapper which did taste good- I can't knock that. <br/>I would recommended going there for drinks as the views, decor and atmosphere are top notch. But don't go there hungry unless you want to empty your wallet. <br/><br/>

Squid salad was delicious! Perfect dish on a warm summer day, would definitely recommend.<br/><br/>Beautiful venue overlooking City Beach, worth coming here for the view alone.<br/><br/>It is a real shame that the hostess was so rude, which left a very bitter taste in our mouths and dampened our experience. She was extremely rude with no communication skills. But soon changed her attitude when she saw who we were dining with and made sure we had a great table... Although all the wait staff were extremely helpful and full of great energy, the hostess could have definitely learnt something about how to deal with customers from the younger wait staff! <br/>

Brilliant venue.<br/><br/>Service was very friendly but proof of the old adage that you cannot teach common sense.<br/><br/>Drinks service was "tragicomical" due to delays and not knowing what was going on.<br/><br/>Waitress' recommendation of the lamb over the pork belly was because "people tell me the pork is really fatty"..... welcome to pork belly 101.<br/><br/>But what saved our review was the food.<br/>Salmon sashimi - exceptional flavours.<br/>Snapper tortillas - perfect balance of texture and flavour.<br/>Mozzarella was a bit odd because the crostini wasn't great for such a wet dish, but still great subtle flavour.<br/>Lamb - wonderful, was exceptionally tender.<br/><br/>Dripping with staff though. Clearly lunch changeover meant a lot of coverage, throughout which, coincidentally, our waitress disappeared.<br/><br/>

Under the warm sunshine, cosy sea breeze, splashing sea waves, you know you have chosen the right place to start off your day. Odyssea brings another new dining experience along the stunning coastline. Pushed the glass door and welcomed by the gentle waiter, leading you to your table for two. Sitting on the bench and being amazed by that sophisticated beachside fare. At that moment, my eyes were my camera, capturing this uninterrupted coastline with no filters. Apparently, this place was taking my breath away. Then, the beautiful waitress brought me back to the reality and asked us for drinks. We started reading the menu and quickly ordered two dishes to stop our belly from making any weird noises.

We had great food and service. Could not fault the experience at all. The restaurant is nicely ambient. I had the gnocchi which was delicious and the Tonka Bean Parfait Ice cream sandwich, which came with an array of fruits and chocolate sauce, absolutely blew my mind. <br/><br/>Well done guys
Queen Of Bad Timing
Spring is my favourite season of the year. Sunny days, with slightly shivery winds. New buds of flowers emerging, and baby animals a plenty in the wild. Best of all, it brings with it an exciting season for fresh produce – with some of my favourite fruit and veggies at their prime.

EDIT:<br/>We have back several times since our first visit sbd found the same great standard in food, presentstion and service.<br/>-----------------------------<br/>We nearly DIED!! The cheesecake dessert is to DIE for. We are not your typical dessert eaters but we ordered a second serve which is most unusual.<br/>We ordered 4 entree dishes and a stesk.<br/>The roasted broccoli with garlic was great and so was the squid. Steak was cooked to order. Service was accommodating given we were walk ins and table service was attentive.<br/>With so many eateries dotting that area strong competition is going to be inevitable.<br/>Our experience was great!<br/>However, the Zomato online menu should be updated!

Excellent cake in a stunning seaside location! Our custard filled bundt was a delight, coffee was strong and smooth, the entree was tasty well cooked prawns, and our waitress was amazingly attentive and polite! Can't wait to try more food here

I enjoyed an early Monday public holiday brekkie here. Beautiful venue with excellent views. My waiter took me to the big communal table facing the beach and took my coffee order. I ordered the Tasmanian salmon, sweet potato hash, corn puree, and green chilli yoghurt, and the Bloody Caesar an interesting mix of Belvedere vodka, clamato juice, lemon, worcestershire, tabasco, maple syrup, and bacon. Coffee arrived fairly quickly and was good. The brekkie was not far behind and was nicely presented. Flavours were spot on, but my salmon was a little dry and was unseasoned. But the puree and the yoghurt were perfect and made up for this. My brekkie cocktail arrived and the flavours were amazing; lively party in your mouth good. A great way to kick start the day, and loved the addition of bacon and maple. Will have to come back for lunch or dinner sometime soon.

Was so pumped to try this venue for breakfast. Only to be bitterly disappointed. Coffee was warm and the breakfast average. Weird flavor combos that only a handful of people could possibly enjoy. Instead of calling you eggs 65C poached eggs maybe just say they are barely cooked and completely unappealing. Won't be back.

Came in to order a quick coffee, barista asked us to sit down for table service. We were served 15-20 minutes later when we flagged down a waiter. Coffee was fairly nice when we eventually experienced it.
Stuck In Transit
It’s been ages since we’ve been out for dinner in Perth and were excited to be heading out with some close friends. They had mentioned Odyssea had recently opened their doors, so thought it was fitting to head out to check out what they had to offer. ATMOSPHERE & SERVICE. Odyssea offers breathtaking views of the ocean (although we didn’t get to see too much after the sun went down) as well as the stunning WA coastline. The restaurant is part of a new impressive development taking place on City Beach.

FIrstly, the location.. Its fantastic, you couldn't beat this spot for a lovely breakfast. When it comes to the food it's just too swanky, I'm not too sure what demographic they're trying to reach but I just want a big breakfast, bacon, eggs, tomato, beans, toast. Instead I ended up with brown rice, seaweed and a 63degree egg. I honestly felt sorry for the older crowd showing up awaiting to dine that presumingly wanted a hearty traditional breakfast too. The juice was good. I think if they changed to a normal type of menu this place would be leaps and bounds ahead of where they are.

We arrived at Odyssea just after 6pm as the sun was just about to set. We were seated on the balcony and the views were breathtaking. The food served was your typical modern Australian offerings. We sampled a range of dishes for entrée including the scallops, baked mozzarella and octopus. All were tasty but nothing really blew my socks off. I had the salmon was mains. I wish that i had specified that I wanted it served medium rare (they didn't ask) as i found it quite dry and overcooked. For dessert, we tried the doughnut served with banana ice cream, chocolate ganache and orange oil. The doughnut was huge, and i couldn't help thinking that it might have been easier to eat if they were smaller. Overall I would come back to Odyssea - the food was ok but the setting was amazing.

The place has nice views but food was a hit and miss. We wanted to try a cake but there were flies buzzing around the inside of the display so that put us off and the squid salad lacked flavour. The pasta dish had a bit more depth to it and the chips were nice.

creative, well priced, delicious breakfast. <br/>love this place more and more. makes me happy to find a place by the beach that has friendly, real people for service (also older, bolder people, yay!) that serves inspiring, healthy food that is yummy and has reasonable prices.

Odyssea...... Omg what do you have to do to get some service, waited 20mins to get a bottle of water (no glasses) and a menu.<br/>Asked one of the servers if we could order and she said I will get someone to help with that....<br/>As we were walking out got asked if everything was OK! Service would of been good... To then get a patronising reply of "that's not good...".......

Visited this place yesterday for lunch. Absolutely delicious food here. We ordered the scallops, salmon, gnocci, and brussel sprouts. Just delicious. Service is great here too. I find this place on the more expensive side, but the quality of food makes up for it. Definitely coming back. Make a booking because it is busy!

Breakfast was terrible. I asked for eggs and toast. With No butter on the toast. It came covered in butter. The eggs where so running they where more like jelly. Don't waste your money on the breakfast. Lunch is much better

We dined here for dinner on a Saturday night, and while we enjoyed the meal, we were not overly impressed. The food was a little bit and miss. The gnocchi and tacos were divine, but the salmon, octopus and squid salad left a bit to be desired. Nonetheless, the service was excellent and the vibe great. The coffee is also very good.

Popped in on Saturday night for a glass of wine and an entree before heading home and we weren't disappointed.  Wine was delicious, view of course is amazing and we shared a basket of chips with ranch sauce which were delicious.   Service was quick and we were so impressed we walked the dogs down there (yes it is dog friendly which is a big bonus) on Sunday morning hoping to have breakfast.  We were a little late for breakfast service but had one of the best croissants I have had in Australia along with an amazing coffee.  I think we have just found our new favourite place for Sunday mornings.  Can't wait for summer but I think the place is going to be even more busy than it is now.  Will just have to get up early on Sunday morning.

Second time here, but first time for breakfast. <br/><br/>We had the Prosciutto de Parma, radicchio jam, goat’s curd, toasted sourdough, 65oC poached egg and my husband got the baked eggs, Ras el hanout spiced beef, smoked eggplant, tahini. I don't know which dish  I liked better. They were both fantastic.<br/><br/>Whatever they're doing in the kitchen I hope they keep doing the same thing. Including my previous visit, I've ordered menu items out of my comfort zone and they have always been great.<br/><br/>You cannot walk away either without getting something from their display cabinet. <br/><br/>For the quality of the food and the views you get, the prices are pretty good value. It gets busy though, and as the weather gets better I don't think the crowds will die down anytime soon.

Fantastic. Just had a sensational breakfast with friends. All the meals were high quality and presented well and the taste was amazing. Considering how busy they were, the service was great and food was out very promptly. View of the ocean is incredible. Only negative was having to wait in line for a table but it was worth the wait! Highly recommend.

I've never written a review before, but I've also never been insulted before. <br/><br/>Saturday afternoon late lunch. Had our order taken, my partner went to the bathroom, I then got up to make a phone call and a waiter (older guy, short hair, glasses) walked quickly up to me and said "doing a runner are we?". Straight faced. I thought he was joking, which would have been fine. Then I realised he wasn't, which isn't fine. <br/><br/>Maybe you have a problem with this occurring, I don't know, but treating customers like that is stoopid. Seriously, stoopid. Even stoopid for Perth service, which is saying a lot. Pro-tip; don't hire arrogant staff. <br/><br/>As to the food - it never tastes great when you're angry.

After the opening of Odyssea earlier in the year and the hype that surrounded it, it was firmly on my list, however due to its popularity and crazy busy weekends it seemed a mid week dinner was the way to go and that time had come. Odyssea is complete beachfront on City Beach and part of an impressive new development that will include a couple more establishments as the year goes on. I’ve often felt Perth has suffered from a shortage of good beachfront restaurants, which seems like such a shame considering our incredible coastline and breathtaking sunsets. So whenever a new one opens up and promises food that matches the view, I’m in. Odyssea had a couple of negative reviews early in the piece but as this is fairly normal whilst a new venue finds its feet it certainly did not deter me and I can tell you now, after my visit, I can’t wait to go back.

The food took so long to arrive that in some places in the world glaciers were reforming... <br/><br/>The view is spectacular and the food can be great... but it just takes so long for anything to arrive.

Fantastic food, the prawn cakes and fish tacos were excellent and the gnocchi was delicious. The views are stunning and the fit out awesome, however the service was rude, unfriendly, slow and definitely lets the venue down. Whether they're understaffed or not the waitsperson who served us, an older man, was rude and inattentive and forgot several things during the meal such as cutlery, water, and to check in on us when we wanted to order and pay. If it weren't for the service it would be a 4.5.

Gorgeous view of the ocean, if you don't look at the ground level it feels like you're sitting on a cruise ship with the surf life saving club lookout. Food was really delicious, my swordfish was cooked to perfection. Fish tacos were delicious too! Service was great, dessert was interesting (I probably chose something weird to begin with) but it was a really nice meal overall.
Shoey Kay
Amazing outlook, delicious food, friendly and helpful wait staff.<br/>We found the food to be good sized potions and well priced.<br/>Lunch for 3 with wine, coffees and 2 shared deserts came to $148.<br/>Will definitely be back again.

Nice ambiance and food. Waiter was somewhat distracted. Had to ask for a new glass for water, as the first one they brought me had a lipstick stain on it.

Have now been for breakfast and dinner and have had great service and food both times. Love the atmosphere and the feel of the place. There was a queue when I got there 10 mins before the breakfast menu stopped but staff managed to seat everyone and get orders in before the cut off. Pretty smooth and organised service; impressive. Food and coffee was good too; you must try the crumpet - yum!
Bottomlesspit
I can see the appeal of Odyssea as the views are beautiful, especially on the verandah. I can't really give it a full rating as I only came here for a last minute tea. The service was attentive and friendly. My friend ordered the fries which came with a blue cheese and bacon sauce. They looked amazing, crispy and a good serving. I would like to come back to be able to try the food!
Tani
Arrived on a stormy Sunday without a booking. It was full but they gave us a corner table. Service was really good despite how hectic it was. Food surpassed our expectations. Will be back!

Odyssea's best asset is definitely its great location and stunning views of the beach! Thats not to say there are no other positives. The staff is very friendly and even offer blankets if you want to sit outside but are too afraid to brave the potentially chilly sea breezes. But possibly the second best asset, asides from the beach, is that they allow dogs onto the outdoor decking.<br/><br/>For me the food itself is a bit of a hit or a miss. It's either really delicious or a bit meh. I enjoyed the bogousta and the crumpets with lemon curd that they offered for breakfast and, although I didn't try them, there were also a lot of yummy looking savoury options for those who do not share my sweet tooth. On the flip side however, my friend chose the 'goatscheese semifreddo' which was not an enjoyable experience to say the least. <br/><br/>The cakes, while look delicious, also came as a bit of a dissapointment. We tried the soufra, brownie, and doughnut and while they definitely were not bad, they were not as good as others which we have had elsewhere. <br/><br/>Saying that, they present all their food beautifully and while not all the meals were to my taste the complete dining experience by the beach was still enjoyable.

Booked here with my sister for Birthday lunch. It was quite busy as usual. We had a table inside as it was too windy outside seating. We were seated at our table the waitress was lovely omg I forgot her name. Anyway we ordered some bread with olive oil. And for mains my sister ordered the fish and I ordered the kangaroo. Our meals came out quite quick and when we tucked into our food my sister found a eyelash lol. As I continued to eat my food I found a very fine brown hair lol. The awesome waitress said that it wasn't her day as everything that could go wrong went wrong! It was fine we reassured her we loved our meals so much anyway. The kangaroo dish was beautiful but for the price I expected a couple more pieces of kangaroo. One thing we didn't like was the young manager he kept giving us dirty looks, not sure why but we thought he was rude. They offered us a free dessert which was the deconstructed Pavlova it was nice. I would definitely come back again! I look forward to trying more dishes 😍

Good food, great location, good service. Limited menu but interesting dishes catering to most tastes. Squid salad excellent, roast pear dessert interesting - light flavour, nice finish to meal. Only gripe was the not too subtle hint to leave at 10:30 pm on a Saturday night - still looking for a nice relaxed place that is happy to serve after-dinner drinks / coffees without rushing us out
Tansy May Cosgrove
I have dined at Odyssea a few times now and always enjoyed the food however I find the service you get rude, rushed, and unpleasant. I booked a table for my friends and I for last night earlier on in the week and specified on the phone that I would also have a pram with me however that my daughter would be asleep therefore no highchair would be required. When we arrived the female greeter took our names, checked the computer and then looked at my pram like it was a piece of rubbish on the floor and rather then ask if I'd mentioned it at the time of booking, said 'you didn't say about the pram'...like an accusation! When i advised that I had in fact told the person on the phone several times I'd have my daughter with me, it was like the whole situation was just too much for her to deal with. After checking the seating arrangements inside - the restaurant was busy but not packed out, she suggested the tiniest table where my pushchair would definitely have been obstructing the path and in a difficult position for everyone involved however when i pointed this out i was rudely told it was either there, outside or nothing at all. When we agreed to go outside her whole attitude changed and she finally smiled at us. However there was no apology for the mix up, and no coming back to check on us that the situation was okay.<br/>Once seated, we ordered drinks and asked for water, however these took a lifetime to come, and the water didn't arrive at all but the table behind which arrived at least 5 minutes after us had drinks, water and starters already on their table before we had anything. <br/>After our meals, we ordered coffee and deserts and were sat having a chat, the restaurant had quietened down by this point but there was still a few groups of people around however the waitress turned off all of the patio heaters around us leaving us shivering in our seats.<br/>The way the staff at Odyssea treated me, my girlfriends and my daughter, as paying customers, was completely rude and like we were an inconvenience to them from start to finish.

Fantastic place, beautiful views with excellent food and superb wine list. Reasonably priced for the quality of food and excellent service. <br/>Tried the mushrooms - this was one of the best and more innovative dishes Ive tried in Perth of late.

Perfect location, went for dinner and the food is quite good, little bit pricey though. Our waitstaff were lovely as well. Would like to come back for brekky as the menu looks nice!

Thank you for breakfast! The food was delicious as well as the Austrian Riesling. Your service was very friendly :) <br/><br/>I had the prosciutto de Parma, goats curd, radicchio jam

Brunch on a rainy Saturday. The rain hadn't kept the crowds away either. Service by a lady I assumed to be maitre'd or an owner was brisk but efficient. Seated on the deck outdoors the view was truly gorgeous, in summer it will be amazing. Waitstaff in this area were not particularly friendly or attentive but it was busy and they had lots of tables to cover so it's forgivable. <br/>Breakfast salmon dish and baked eggs with meatballs were on the menu. The salmon was a very small portion. Both meals were really yummy. Coffee was a little small / weak for my liking. Cakes & sweets on display looked spectacular, will return for the view in summer!
Billylamb
Came here for brunch on the weekend, bit of a line but ended up getting a seat outdoors fairly quickly. It was quite cold and could have done with some outdoor heaters on the alfresco area but they had blankets which helped a bit! The service felt a little cold and rushed, asking if we wanted coffees first or to wait for our guests, then as we were thinking about it (briefly!), she said 'there's a wait on coffees so...', felt the same when ordering food. She was just letting us know there would be a wait but I felt it could have been done a bit more politely and with a smile. The coffee was good but went cold too quickly outdoors! The highlight was the food! The polenta and mushroom dish with the perfectly cooked oozy egg was delicious, the blue cheese whip was really subtle and not offensive. The baked eggs were satisfying. A really lovely spot with a great view. It's similar to Bib and Tucker but at a more reasonable price.
Brian Thomas Coughlan
Pricey but nice, attentive staff, had the calamari salad & a brilliant desert each. <br/>Well worth a visit, a table outside if it's warm. <br/>Very busy on the weekend, go for a late lunch.
Michelle
Sundays are very busy here (the lunchtime line was out the front door), but luckily we got an outside table with a nice view (as we had reserved a table, though still had to wait in the line for several minutes). There always seems to be a lot of staff around, though it can be difficult to get one's attention if you want something. I wasn't sure what the menu food would be like, having only previously tried the baked goods. I was pleasantly surprised. The polenta was tasty, and quite filling, which I wasn't expecting from a starters menu of a restaurant like this. The prawns in milk buns were nice, though nothing great, but of average value for $18. <br/>We had ordered chips with dip, but they never arrived, and we weren't fussed going without, and luckily they didn't show up on the bill. <br/>The pastry cabinet didn't have much of a selection, but the souffra looked interesting, and one of the people at our table remarked that it tasted "like a custard tart with way more pastry". We also ordered the doughnut off the dessert menu, and apart from the orange aspect being too bitter, that was very nice, especially the ganache. <br/>There was an iced coffee that seemed to have been forgotten about, but just over five minutes after querying with a waiter we received it. The affogato comes with a lot of ice cream, in the kind of etched glass that every middle-aged couple in the 90's had, which I liked. <br/>Overall, it is good food at not too expensive prices. <br/>I am glad it didn't rain, as there didn't seem to be a lot of protection for most of the outside tables were that to happen.
Kate
I visited Odyssea for the first time on Saturday night for dinner with a friend. It was a last minute booking but we were able to get in at 6.30 if we didn't mind sitting on the deck (and with big heaters warming us we didn't). The food was good, if pricey: the vegetarian gnocchi was delicious and my friend liked her kangaroo a lot. A green salad and olives on the side were good. The service was, frankly, all over the place: the olives seemed to go walkabout for awhile, a drink order got confused and when we finished our mains our plates were cleared etc without anyone offering us a dessert menu. Similarly when our cup of tea/champagne for dessert were cleared the waiter didn't ask if we wanted to bill or anything else - just cleared the table and left. It wasn't hostile service but it was very weird. The head (I think) waiter told us later he had a migraine so perhaps that was it. I'd still go back.

Very busy beach front cafe. We squeezed in on a Sunday for brekky. Food was good a bit pricey but good quality, but the view is pretty amazing. It takes a while to get a table normally and it can be quite noisy but definitely worth a visit

Attending odyssea for lunch. We hadn't booked a table but the restaurant was half full. We waited in line at entrance for 10 mins before getting attended too. We then got greeted and were placed at a share table which was fine. We then sat there for a further 15 mins before getting asked if we wanted a drink. We placed drink order and took 10 mins till we got them. They then placed our order for food and that was out within half an hour. Food was good do not get me wrong but the service is dreadful worst I've experienced in a long time! Our plates sat there for 20 mins after we had finished and 4 separate staff walked past our table and not one cleared them very disorganised with plenty of staff on looking like they did not want to be there nor knew what they were doing! Got some good chefs in the kitchen but shame that front of house doesn't match the quality that's coming out of the kitchen! Won't be rushing back.

Walk in table for 5 - arrived at 11:30 on Sunday and managed to get a seat on the balcony with heaters and blankets .. Told that the kitchen didn't open until 12 so we ordered drinks while we waited. Service was friendly and with a smile and we didn't wait too longer for our meals. Ordered the fish tacos, lamb sirloin, beef, squid and pork belly .. A side of fries with blue cheese & bacon sauce .. Really good .. Totally happy with our choices and the setting! We'll be back!

Excellent! I absolutely loved this place. The layout and atmosphere is warm, the staff are attentive and friendly and the breakfast was really good. I had the bircher muesli which was delicious, looking forward to go back!

Odyssea is a new addition to the popular City Beach, attracting people for breakfast as well as the clean beach and breaking waves. We arrived just after 11am and were just in time before breakfast finished at 11:30am. There was a short queue of people waiting to be seated but we weren’t in any rush so we had a look over the menu while we waited. The interior of Odyssea reminded me quite a bit of The Shorehouse with indoor and outdoor seating, a fabulous ocean view and a calm relaxing atmosphere.

Popped in for a late lunch and it was very busy but didn't have to wait to long. Got a fantastic table outside overlooking the ocean it was beautiful and had gas heaters between each table and blankets available if you get cold. Venue was beautiful and the service was friendly. <br/><br/>We decided to get a few share dishes - Fish Tacos, Grilled Octopus and Potatoes, Bone Marrow and Prawn & Pancetta Milk Buns. We were happy with most of our selections the only dish we didn't enjoy was the Prawn one, the ratio of prawn to bread was out of proportion there just wasn't enough filling and the bread wasn't amazing. The Fish Tacos tasted amazing the combination of the crunchy battered fish, aioli and preserved lemon rind with the watercress was amazing. The Octopus was beautiful and tender and went well with the potatoes it was really tasty. The Bone Marrow was beautiful especially the salad that it's served with the combination of it all together with the toasted bread was fantastic. <br/>Beautiful place to enjoy some tasty food with a few glasses of wine but be aware the serving sizes are rather small.
Everyone's A Critic
Did not disappoint - worth the wait. I've heard so much about this place from friends and was super excited to try it! I was a little worried that it wouldn't live up to the hype - by it ticked all the boxes. Went in for brekky with a group of 4 and made sure we went in early to avoid the queue! <br/><br/>They don't take bookings for breakfast so much sure you go in a bit earlier to secure a table - recommend before 9am. <br/><br/>The menu was interesting and for someone who is not a big fan of fish - I ordered the Salmon. It was amazing - with crispy kale and toasted chia seed. The star was that lovely sauce!!! I was smiling from ear to ear. Definitely a great chef in the kitchen!<br/><br/>Service was lovely as well. They were packed out the door and still the staff managed to be attentive and friendly. Also nice atmosphere loved being by the beach.<br/><br/>I can't wait to come back and bring a couple of friends maybe even try lunch or dinner. <br/><br/>Price: Approx $20-30 including a Soy Chai Latte
Andrea
Second time I have been here and wouldn't say it had the "wow" factor apart from the location if the weather is fine & sunny.  The menu is pretty pricey for what is dished up, $28 for pasta is a bit steep when the serving size is like an entree!  I was still hungry after my main meal.  Was bitterly disappointed when ordering dessert the doughnuts were unavailable and all the other desserts on the menu did not appeal.  The cheeseboard looked amazing but again pricey $26 for two types of cheese & some crackers, pomegranate seeds & pistachios! Can't say I will be rushing back, maybe for a morning coffee.
InMyFaceHole
Dropped in for a coffee today as I had seen this in a magazine and thought it looked stunning. <br/>I arrived at 11am which is when they stop breakfast so thought it would be quieter but no, it was pretty full. There didn't seem to be many staff to accommodate so many people. It was about 10mins before we were seated. <br/>Then another 10-15 to take our coffee order. <br/>Then another 10-15 to receive our coffees. Mine was luke warm so think it was made quick but slow to come out maybe? It was a nice coffee but needed to be way hotter. <br/>The uniformed staff were friendly but there was one older lady not in uniform who was walking around and seemed really lost... It wasn't until we saw her delivering drinks that we realise she worked there! Maybe a manager?<br/>We didn't order food as everything was so expensive! And if the coffee was anything to go by, wouldn't be worth the $$!
OnePointFive
Went to Odyssea for breakfast this morning. Was stunned by beautiful beach view from the restaurant. A lovely lady greeted at the front and she escorted us to one of tables outside. Staffs were all friendly and efficient. I picked the Filo Wild Herb Pie with Labne, Sumac and Fried Egg. It's a very tasty dish, loved the combination of all. My friend had Tasmanian Salmon with Crunchy Potato and Kale Hash, Bernaise, Toasted Quinoa and Sourdough. She enjoyed it. Unfortunately coffee wasn't their strongest point. My friend's latte tasted a bit weird so they made a new one for her, very kind of them. She said it's better, but still we've had better coffees somewhere else. We had Souffra for dessert, it's good but I would prefer it cold. I would love to go back again soon.
Pedro
View is possibly best in Perth ... I like this place as found and service is pretty good ... But only wish they had made the venue bit more casual ... It's beachside restaurant and that means casual is the only way to go...
Karen Langdon
Very disappointing went for lunch yesterday, was cold wet and windy, rain coming in on us, we were offered blankets to try and keep warm! You would think that some sort of guard against weather is a must. Food was ordinary at best, service was good, but overall very disappointing, not somewhere I would be interested in revisiting.
Floki
Food tasted delicious! Had the spicy prawn tagliatelle which had just the right balance of flavour! We called for reservation on the night and were told that the next available seating inside would be in 2 hrs time, so we opted for outdoor seating. When we got there, we were glad we went for outdoor seating, because in combination with the heaters, blankets and sound of the ocean, the setting was just perfect. Overall it was a very nice dining experience, although we would have preferred a bit more variety on the dessert menu.

Since moving near the beach, A and I have been spending so much more time there. We’ve been looking forward to the new development at City Beach being completed and were excited to try the first venue to open – Odyssea Beach Café. The weather on the weekday morning we visited was near perfect, so we decided to dine in the alfresco area to capitalise on Odyssea’s stunning location.
Kate
Great views and very accommodating staff, when we got there it was very busy with most tables taken yet the hostess still took the time to get a table moved so we could sit in the shade outside. Unfortunately the food was really disappointing, I had the French toast which was just dry toast with a hint of egg on the outside. I'd recommend stopping by for a coffee and enjoying the views but I wouldn't bother with the food.
Maria
Beautiful beach front views. Got a table here for afternoon coffee and cake in 5 minutes despite the long lines. Very busy atmosphere, good service. The cakes were delicious. Would like to return to sample the dinner menu soon.
Al
I had the squid main which was delicious, really flavoursome, generous portion, well cooked and well presented. Hubby had the jerk chicken. It tasted really good, fresh ingredients etc, there just wasn't enough there, it needed some rice or something to go with it and bulk it out. It was just as well my portion was big enough to share or hubby would have left still hungry! Unsurprisingly for this location the drinks were expensive. Lovely views on the terrace.

Reserved a table for Sunday lunch with the dog and was accommodated at a table outside. Food (salmon and pork belly) and view perfect and service good.
Anna Mcgregor
Over priced nonsense.<br/><br/>The best part of our experience was the homemade lemonade. <br/><br/>The meals we ordered were cold and far from enjoyable.<br/><br/>I ordered the pork belly and my partner ordered the lamb rump with a side of chips. <br/><br/>The pork was soft and mushy like it had been braised. The fat on the meat consequently remained thick like a layer of very firm jelly and I struggled to navigate my way to some actual meat. The sauce it was covered with was overpowering and tasted like something from a supermarket. <br/><br/>The lamb was cooked inconsistently with some parts raw and others seared. This was not your standard cooked in the edges and raw in the middle it was just odd. it was served sliced which to me should henge allowed the chef to see the sloppy cook job.<br/>The chips were also cold and the blue cheese dip needs work. <br/><br/>The staff were rude and pretentious and the ambience was not right. It is a real shame a restaurant with such a beautiful location is rubbish.

As a local who swims at this beach a couple of times a week I have found this development scary in its enormity and frightened of the impact on our local community and the amenity of City Beach. Now I have been, seen and tasted. Perth now has a place to rival Sydney in view, in modern courageous cuisine and in local authenticity. My crumpet was outstanding, the service was excellent and to top it off I saw Ian Thorpe and his boyfriend. That does not happen everyday . Odyssea is a welcome addition to Perth's dining scene.
Anna Spinks
This is a fantastic restaurant with amazing food, beautiful views and very good wait staff. My friend and I hadn't booked and they were very busy but still able to find us a table. The water and menus were out fast and drinks were ordered and brought out swiftly. I couldn't fault the food and will certainly be returning there in the near future.
Joanne
Fabulous, good service - well trained, intelligent staff, great food - delicious tasting, came quickly, decent portions. Beautiful views of the ocean. Will definitely come back.
Lulu Tahlulu
I love the atmosphere here and it is a great addition to the area, food was fresh and very tasty, service could vastly improve though. It was busy when we went and luckily we had all afternoon otherwise it would have been frustrating, one of of drinks was forgotten and we had to ask for it twice. In saying that I am sure it is just teething problems and I am keen to go back.
The Chefs Wife
Securing a table at the uber-popular Odyssea is difficult. I had to forget dining on a weekend, which were fully booked for two weeks. Plan B, an early weeknight dinner, was the easiest option. Odyssea is one of Perth’s rare absolute beachfront restaurants. We are welcomed into the airy coastal restaurant and taken out to a table on the expansive decked veranda, overlooking the park and ocean. Our waiter is pleasant – though a little green. On his second visit to our table he offers us water. After a quite a wait, I resort to ushering a waitress over to bring us a carafe of tap water.
Truth Be Told Australia
We visited here 1 week ago. This is my second attempt to try and get in. This time we booked a table of 6. Service front of house again was not impressive. We waited approx 10-15mins for water, asked twice, then finally recieved it.Meal delivery was OK, all dishes looked and tasted great. I really enjoyed my Salmon, and the entree were also really tasty. This venue has an abundance of staff and need's someone with experience running the show out the front, the staff were seen eveywere but the service time was a little too long.Venue is also a little noisy.
Erica Farrell
The service was average and it was very noisy - worse outside than inside surprisingly. The view of course was beautiful but that was the only highlight. <br/>I had the vine ripened tomato dish which was not how it read on the menu. Barely any food, not worth the price. My husband had the salmon which he enjoyed but I don't think we will go back any time soon. Coffee was good so that helped!
First Last
Breathtaking views and our waitress was very good. Unfortunately that is where the positives stop and the negatives begin. <br/><br/>The food was delivered to us in stages, half the table got to eat and the other half watched. It was particularly difficult for our 2 year old to be left waiting for his food. <br/><br/>The portion sizes are small, very small, two dishes must be ordered unless you want to eat before you get here. <br/><br/>The food itself was average, certainly not worth it for the price. <br/><br/>Habooken

Had dinner to celebrate a special family occasion, thirteen of us. We loved the long bench table with high stools. The service was brilliant ranging from helping two children with their menu to advising on the wine list. <br/>The food was superb, especially the Rob Broadfield recommended pork belly. The specially made cake was lovely and so well priced.<br/>Tuesday night the place was packed with a great buzz. Thank you Oddysea.<br/>Ps. When paying the bill, I added a sizeable tip to which the waitress asked are you sure about that? Wonderful.<br/>Paul&Brenda

We had a large group booking for lunch on Saturday the food, service and cost was brilliant. Thank you to the wonderful staff who waited on our tables so efficiently, the beautiful food and cakes supplied by the chefs and Ella for her great organising skills. You all made my Fathers birthday very enjoyable.

Our experience at Odyssea today was so incredibly enjoyable that I am writing a review (I don't normally do this!). It was extremely busy and we didn't have a booking but the staff made room for us at a beautiful spot overlooking the ocean. Service was incredibly attentive and we were not left waiting or wanting! Food was exceptionally well prepared and came out super fast, especially considering how busy it was. The Northwest squid was so tender and juicy and like no squid I have ever tasted. Will be back next week for dinner! Totally made my day.

Gorgeous lunch venue. City Beach so needed this restaurant. <br/>We were a large group and service was good. Really enjoyed the squid salad! Will be back!
Renato
Brilliant setting and comfy seating make Odyssea a fine option for a waterfront brekky. The coffee was ok but not brilliant while the eggs and toast were solidly good. Service was excellent.
Ditts2016
A great place for lunch with a great view of Perths coastline. Service was average and something management need to address. Will go back again

This place is amazing. Came here with a few friends for breakfast. As a big coffee drinker the coffee is divine and the breakfast was so perfect. Eggs poached perfectly and bacon cooked nicely. Very fresh. The food came out really fast and the place was packed full with no tables to spare. I recommend this to everyone, beautiful views, great service and food.
Evonne
Beautiful views! Croissants are not recommended - fairly tasteless. Coffees and hot chocolate are reasonable. Advise not to arrive past 1045 for breakfast as you may miss the cut off time. It will be unlikely that you can stay and transition to lunch there as it seems they get completely booked out. Would suggest that the staff advise customers of time limits up front.

Finally! Somewhere for breakfast that takes advantage of our phenomenal beaches, but doesn't let the food and service slide because they 'can'. <br/><br/>Easter Saturday breakfast, 9am. Place was heaving to the ceiling, so there was about a 5-10min wait for a table. Scored one on the balcony, what a stunning view! <br/><br/>Food was slightly inventive, but delicious. No traditional "big breakfast" here. I had avocado, haloumi and chimmi churri on toast, which I really enjoyed. <br/><br/>Service was great; friendly, attentive but not overbearing.

Odyssea Beach Café is one of the new restaurants in the revamped City Beach beachside area. It opened in January this year and has been super popular with people often having to book over a week in advance and queuing for a while if you walk in without a reservation.
Anne Marie Lewis
Had dinner here tonight - decor nice - vista gorgeous - seating on benches for $400 for two hours not good - wine list nice - food (I'm vego so limited) - service average - don't kill your self to get a booking here - give it a couple of months - hopefully they will fix the above mentioned limitations !
Prince Of Perth
Royal Seal of Approval. Much the same as Homer's sequel to the Iliad, Odyssea is a true work of art. The setting and fit out is second to none. Odyssea utilises the best of the west infused with the magic of the Mediterranean. The Prince has visited on two occasions and on both occasions was equally impressed. As imposing as the formal dining experience is, Odyssea offers a unique casual coffee setting on the outdoor deck and is open until late. They have clearly found the coastal balance that Perth folk yearn and crave. Well done to the team at Odyssea.

Went there for a lazy Saturday afternoon lunch. Awesome food, great service, lots of fun and lots to be happy about with this place. Good to finally see some quality places making the most of our fantastic coastline.  Oh forgot, great wine list and some good advice given on what to match it with from Von. Also to Ashleigh and the owners thanks for a great afternoon. "I'll be back!"

Thursday 17th March. Fabulous experience. Maitre De warm welcoming, staff attentive, friendly and efficient. Thank you we will definately return with our friends for more.

The long black and espresso, are an outstanding cup of coffee. Odyssea use local coffee beans, Our 2nd visit for coffee and happy to say it’s consistent with the last.<br/>The gluten free friand is topped with fig and berry, as well as flaked almonds. It’s a delectable balance of oven cooked fruit and springy soft cake. The Frangipane tart is a top heavy slice of caramelised peach. Perfect with the sugarless coffees.
The Breakfast Confidential
I have been following the development of this brand new beach side cafe on Instagram for a while now; waiting with bated breath for it’s opening. How could I not be excited about a cafe being opened by the previous owners of the Angove Street favourite – Metrio & Co!. City Beach has been transformed by the opening of Odyssea. A restaurant as beautiful as the beach, with plenty of seating inside and even more outside. They know people want to see that view!

Breaky here was superb. I figured there would be stunning views, but they seem to have ticked all the other boxes as well. <br/>Delightful decor, beautifully coordinated and unpretentious. We were seated in the outside area, well protected, great music, bordering on a bit loud, but it was ok. <br/>The food was delightful standout, interesting ideas, immaculate presentation and delivered on taste ! <br/>The service was attentive but unobtrusive, though I think the 'mature and refined' couple close by may have cringed every time the waitress said, 'so, how's everything going GUYS', as did we a bit. <br/>We even followed our breaky with a bit of decadence, having a chocolate brioche from the baked selections on offer, all of which would be a standout in any city. Perth really has come of age.<br/>Thankyou 'Odesea'. We will be back !<br/> <br/><br/>December 2016<br/>Dinner a week ago. Still a lovely place, very busy in December at sunset. The three scallops clearly cooked on the same hot plate as the meats etc. Goats gurd with a bit of mesculine was disappointing, Gnocchi was ok. Gin and tonic watery, but overall a high price for tiny portions of average food, but then you are paying for the view. I'll go back again for breaky though !

Can not fault the food here. We didn't have a booking and had to wait approximately 40 minutes for a table, so not too bad as they were fully booked. We chose to share the small plates and could not fault one dish. So fresh, and loved the blue cheese and bacon chips! We would definitely be back.
Love To Dine
We've been here on three seperate occasions since the opening... Breakfast, lunch & dinner. I have to say that on all occasions, the food has been terrific and has made it to our table in record time from ordering. I love that the menu has a 'different' selection of food to what one normally finds in beachside Cafes around Perth. The food itself has been delicious! <br/><br/>Ok - so that's where the pleasantries stop. <br/><br/>Front of house is a shamozzle!! Seriously... Each time we've been there, it seems like disorganised chaos!! It seems that the staff at the front door simply don't know what they're doing. They turn people away, claiming that the restaurant is fully booked... But the whole time that we were there, we were surrounded by vacant tables! So where are all these reservations?<br/><br/>Also, how many maitre d's are there?? Apart from the waiters/waitresses, there's normally another 3-4 women running around 'calling the shots'. I think there's a few too many of them and it's obvious that neither of them really know what's going on. <br/><br/>My next bear-bug is that on all three occasions, it took forever for someone to take our drinks order, bring menus, and then eventually take our food order. 10 or so mins each time!! Here's a tip: if you want to turn over tables efficiently... Then serve them!<br/><br/>In all honesty, the first two times we went to Odyssea was during he first two weeks after opening. I thought things would settle down once all the opening jitters were over... Regretfully this is not the case. Today's experience was yet again disappointing from a service experience... Heaps of empty tables, turning business away, lots of 'bosses' running around trying to take control... And it all just seems chaotic. The lack of improvement between each of the three visits has really put me off from returning for a fourth.

Tuesday 16th February Lunch.<br/><br/>Meeting friends at city beach and decided to try here instead of Clancys for a change.<br/><br/>Place was busy!! Even for Tuesday afternoon but we were offered outside seating in the kinda bar around the tree which we were fine with. Ordered 3 dishes to share, fig with blue cheese, kingfish ceviche and the fish tacos and s non alcoholic cocktail. Everything was beautiful would like to go back and try more dishes. Our waitress was very helpful and service seemed pretty good as they were so busy. This is kind of what I would like Shorehouse service to be like. I wouldn't say it's competition for Clancys they are 2 very different venues which is nice to go to city beach and have a choice
MtLovely
What a great venue. Probably one of the first dining experiences that does justice to location whilst providing delicious tasty whole good. I really enjoyed the squid salad with a prosecco! My friends also enjoyed the prawn pasta, the Beetroot salad was also lovely, but not quite enough for a vegetarian main. Fabulous service. Stunning decor. Love love love! I will be back!

This restaurant is superb! Fantastic service, I couldn't fault it in the slightest. The waiters were engaging, kind, attentive and actually looked happy to be there. The decor was really well designed and suited the location perfectly. The food came out in a timely manner and was absolutely delicious. My fish of the day was probably the best fish I've had. Fresh, delicious, and such amazing flavour combos. The food here isn't boring, it's new and inventive and just amazing. The chef should be applauded. The serving sizes are fantastic, and you don't pay an arm and a leg for what you get. All round great place to eat in Perth and well worth the drive if you don't live close by. Will definitely be telling all my friends about it.

Had a nice lunch here with MatthewThornley. The whole layout, atmosphere and vibe is so relaxing and chilled. We had the bruschetta, pork belly and a side of chips with two pints of the James Squire's Summer Swindler. The bruschetta was fresh and the toasted quinoa was a nice touch, but overall it was missing a bit of flavour. The pork belly was delicious! Juicy, spicy and the plum complimented it well. Would definitely recommend it. Both meals were also presented so appetisingly... I'd love to see the kilograms of coriander they've got in their kitchen because it was quite prevalent in most of the meals on the menu (but I love coriander so no harm done!) And the chips were.. chips. We got what we wanted, and the blue cheese & bacon dip was something different. <br/><br/>Service was excellent as well, as they have soo many staff! I would recommend this place for its refreshing atmosphere and might return again to try other items on the menu.
Lucia Pertile
Beautiful place but we have been very disappointed.<br/><br/>Bad food menù, staff so young and without experience, bad service drink in particolary we have had campari but we never have seen serviced campari like that around the world.<br/><br/>We will never return.
Kermit
Beautiful decor, large open space. Amazing views of the ocean. That's was it for me.<br/>It was busy. No reservation, no table we were informed by the Maitre d. After telling her we only here for coffee, she agreed and took us to our table on the deck. There was about 8+ tables that were empty.<br/>Menu was limited. Coffee was ok. Desert was ok- nothing special. Can say I've been, not in a rush to get back.
Natasha Guerinoni
Odyssea makes the most of the beautiful City Beach vista with its large and long deck and spacious interior. It is a large dining space that fits lots of people, which also means a high level of general chatter noise.<br/><br/>We went for breakfast, which you can't book for. It was a 20 minute wait but the front door staff kept coming back to us to say she hadn't forgotten us as we waited out the front in the sun. We were seated on the deck and the staff were accommodating, with a smile, for my two pregnant friends when we said the low table and chairs wouldn't suit. <br/><br/>Most of our table ordered the avocado and halluomi which had lots of green and they said delicious. Another ordered the mushroom dish, which was fancy but without bread so she left a little hungry. I ordered the Bircher which was soft, full of flavour and an okay size, not tiny but not exactly filling either. Coffees were all decent.<br/><br/>I'd love to come for lunch/dinner which is when I think it'll really shine. For breakfast, I'd probably recommend after you've been to the beach rather than make it as your destination.
Oiaimee
There are so many staff here, the service flows really quickly and efficiently: bam, bam, bam. <br/><br/>We didn't have to wait for anything. The restaurant is comfortable, slick and modern with a beautiful view. <br/><br/>Their menu is a little limited only 8 mains to choose from. Coriander and chilli seemed to be their favourite ingredients as they crept up everywhere on the lunch menu. Nothing was particularly spicy though. We tried the jerk chicken, squid, kimchi pork belly and chips. Both the chicken and the pork belly were melt in the mouth soft with a good balance of flavour. Though the salad that accompanied the chicken did have a lot of coriander stalks. The squid salad was nice and light and the squid was not rubbery. The chips were crunchy, salty and accompanied by a moreish blue cheese and bacon dip. In fact everything was as nice as you'd expect from such a beautiful restaurant in a beautiful location however the portion sizes are on the lighter side.
Danny G
Ok. Great view, we had beautiful weather so it was a great day for us. The service was good even though they were pretty busy; plenty of friendly staff.<br/><br/>Had the Korean Pork, NWS Squid and Mt Barker Chicken. Everything has chilli - everything - some of us can't eat it. The food was well presented and tasted good (despite the sting of the chilli) but the accompanying salads were well strange. <br/><br/>Coffee is lukewarm but flavoursome.<br/><br/>Not somewhere that I will return in a rush but don't get me wrong it is nice.
Queen Of Bad Timing
I decided on the honeycomb, yoghurt and goat’s cheese semifreddo with strawberries, fresh honeycomb and candied pistachios ($18.00). While on most occasions I tend to gravitate more towards savoury over sweet, I thought this sounded really interesting and different to what other brunch spots have on their menus. <br/><br/>I think what impressed me most about this was the fact that it was like a celebration of summer on the plate – and perfectly in harmony. The goat’s cheese was strong, but not overly dominating – just counter balanced against the saccharine strawberries and nuts. It was a really morish dish, one that kept me coming back for spoonful after spoonful – and when I was finished I felt really sated but not bloated. Delicious! I think I might have won in the dish off that day because I left feeling well and truly impressed by my plate. I also loved the fresh honeycomb which is not something I’ve eaten on many occasions, and it was so satisfyingly sticky!

went here with my wife to celebrate our anniversary. <br/>booked our table for 2 almost 3 weeks in advance - very disappointed to have been seated on the end tables near the entrance.<br/>ordered drinks and told that the red wine i selected wasnt available. (not a good start)<br/>Nothing on the entree list jumped out at us so we decided to go straight for mains- chef do some homework on your menu!!!<br/>I felt like steak so ordered the scotch fillet- bad choice!! only half of it was edible. the other half was riddled with chewy fat!! not my idea of a $40 chunk of meat.<br/>the steak was topped with watercress and quinoa dressed with a less than average vinaigrette splashed through it.<br/>my wife ordered fish of the day - snapper for $40  <br/>A side order of RUSTIC CUT chips perhaps???  more like your run of the mill chips you expect from a greasy lunch deli!!  way over salted too.(so not worth $9.<br/>by writing rustic cut chips on the menu- to me this implies they have been hand cut. this is somewhat misleading - why not just sell them as plain old chips. The blue cheese and bacon dip was nice though.<br/>being our anniversary it would have been nice to have finished off the evening with lovely dessert or two.  all we could find that took our fancy was the strawberry stack thing with creme patisserie. what a let down!! again chef do some home work!!!<br/>Needn't to say we didnt stick around for coffee!!  wont be coming back here or recommending this place to anyone. <br/>such a let down - could be so much better!

A super location & this stunning beach venue is ideal for lunch on a warm day<br/>Maitre de was lovely & efficient, maybe best to book if you want inside<br/>Floor Managers need to better train & direct the friendly young staff<br/>Wine come out quickly but cork in the bottle proved problematic & delivered white with no ice in bucket "nice drop of french chardy once opened"  <br/>No food service follow up after being seated<br/>No side plates for sharing or cutlery before meal arrived<br/>Food delivered that was for another table<br/>None of these are unfixable<br/>Small casual menu suits the beach & good wine list by glass <br/>Food is well priced & cheerfully plated, unfortunatley cooking skills & flavours take a back seat, however the view is complimentry..
Cass Cheeseman
Coffee was sadly weak, food over salted and we must have had the rudest waitress there. So disappointing. Even paying was a bad experience. Being spoken to like you are an inconvenience just being there isn't on no matter how nice the furnishings are.

Had a great meal here recently, and I would advise heading around the sunset hours and find a seat on the deck. We were pleasantly surprised by the interesting menu and food came out within a few minutes of us placing the order. The food was fresh, and packed with lots of fresh greens (Kim chi pork belly and north west squid). Service was great, aside from when we were trying to find someone to pay the bill- but who really cares when you can enjoy the view whilst you're waiting.
Rochelle Connelly
We had a great night - although, after reading some of the earlier reviews, we were a bit wary.<br/>The views and position - well, they speak for themselves.<br/>The food and service, however is what will speak volumes ...and it was fantastic!!<br/>We were a table of 6 and between us ordered a substantial number of the delicious choices on the menu. Everything was interesting and SO delicious!!<br/>Wait staff were attentive and friendly - and able to speak well to the menu.<br/>An absolute joy to have such a quality restaurant on our northern beaches!
Clare Barnett
Love it a new restaurant very friendly staff, the deck is lovely, the food was great and the view was stunning we will be back soon I love restaurant on the ocean front
Perth Surprise Me
Went here on 13 February. Amazing views, modern facilities. The breakfast menu seems unique and exciting but disappointingly we're unable to try as they stopped serving breakfast at 10:30am!!! Just ridiculous!!!<br/><br/>There were lots of young ground staff so even if the place is packed, you will be looked after. Very friendly service from the waiters/waitresses. The managers on the other hand are arrogant and no smiles at all. You just feel as if they're doing you a favour by letting you try their "fancy" restaurant. <br/>
Mangiam
Did not get a chance to try it!! Although they advertise "sandy feet welcome" our family was not allowed in as I was barefoot. Health and safety has got nothing to do with it, it's the venue's choice to be casual only on their press release!!
Lee
Stopped by for a brief coffee over the weekend. Our long blacks were great and we'll definitely be back to try breakfast in the near future.  It's a beautiful laid out restaurant with sensational views of city beach. A little chaotic in the entry area and expect a queue over the weekend if you don't have a booking. In other words, book to avoid disappointment.
SFANDJM
New venue excellent staff fast efficient and pleasant service. Great pleasure to be served with a smile rather than a grunt. Breakfast was very tasty and well presented Booked 2 weeks ahead for dinner which speaks for itself!!
JayDeeBee
Had a wonderful breakfast at Odyssea last weekend. Lucky we had booked before they decided that they would no longer take breakfast bookings, as the queue was out the door! View and ambience to die for. Service was cheerful and efficient. I had the Avocado with Baked Haloumi which was absolutely delicious. Others all enjoyed their meals too. Waitress was always available for extra coffee orders and despite the crowds we were not made to feel rushed at all. I hope they reconsider not taking breakfast bookings, especially for larger groups. I would not go there (or anywhere else for that matter) if I had to queue.
Bianca Maree
I actually don't know what these people who are saying "more options needed" actually want? I think the menu is fresh and new and moves away from the boring old bacon and eggs. If you want that, stay the f home or go to your shitty local. We need more fresh and imaginative places in Perth to lift the foodie culture. All of the people below are keeping average restaurants in business. My lunch calamari salad was not the best thing I've ever eaten, that is to say I did not enjoy it, but the breakfast was sublime, the coffee was perfect and the service was fine!
Foody
Great view & location.Hoped this place wld finally provide some long overdue competition for the pathetic clancys, however first visit, im not so sure<br/><br/>The menu here is a joke. SOOO limited choice, in fact before you go check & see if there actually is anything on it you even like. Service extremely slow & un attentive.Had the prawn, linguine pasta, (they where shrimps, NOT prawns) pasta cooked perfectly, dish itself was BLAND, lacked any real flavor..Average at best<br/><br/>Unless the menu offers more choice, wouldnt go back !
Steve AR
Good coffee with prompt friendly service. I love the setting and the permanent outdoor seating.. Nice to have alternatives at this beautiful location.
Stiet
Probably one of the worse breakfast I've had. Great view and location. Service not too bad but quality of food is no so great. Waitress warned us that they slow cook their eggs hence it will be runny which we are totally fine with! However when they came out it was not runny and had hardened a bit inside. Fail...
MF
Everything was fantastic about our breakfast dining experience <br/>The weather the vie and location perfect<br/>The restaurant itself is modern but comfortable and takes advantage of the view of the ocean<br/>The menu is not too extensive and just a little bit different from the standard breakfast menu - and delicious - and great value with very reasonable prices  compared <br/>Service is attentive and friendly but not in your face - loads of staff so they aren't overworked and available <br/>Coffee great<br/>Juice great<br/>Food delicious - we all 8 of us agreed<br/>Cannot wait until we return
KP
I went here today with two family members and I will not be returning in a hurry. <br/><br/>We hadn't booked as we had spontaneously decided to check it out. When we got there we waited in line to be seated and were then asked to sit at the table next to the line, still waiting to be seated. The waitress came back and informed us after 10 minutes that the 'only' table was one inside, in between their two noisy serving areas. This is despite the restaurant being 1/3 full and there being plenty of free tables on her seating chart which I saw a few times while we were waiting. We were also informed at this point that the breakfast menu had finished and the lunch menu didn't start until 12 (we had arrived at about 10.50am). <br/><br/>We ordered a drink each from another incredibly obnoxious waitress and while we waited I saw a table of 3 who had finished their meals move themselves to a different table which the waitstaff allowed so there clearly were other tables that we could have been seated at. We left after our drinks and got lunch an an awesome little Italian place in Floreat Forum where the waitstaff were great and attentive and restored my faith in Perth's hospitality. <br/><br/>I may give Odyssea another go but it won't be any time soon and I'll be sure to book seeing as walk ins are such an inconvenience to them. They have a lot of improvement to do with regards to their 'hospitality' and for the time being I recommend people go next door to Clancy's where you aren't made to feel like a bother. <br/><br/>
Love Eating Out
We went for brekkie on a Monday thinking it would be quiet. We were wrong - it was very busy. There were no tables on the balcony so we were seated in the alfresco area which was very relaxed.  Love the decor and atmosphere and the staff were very friendly and efficient.<br/><br/>We ordered the bananas wrapped in pancetta with French toast which was yum! My hubbie had the mushroom with pearl barley and goats cheese which was also nice. The fresh juices were good. The only suggestion would be some more "standard" menu items such as pancakes, or just plain bacon and eggs (you can order eggs and toast but anything else is an extra). Will be returning to try the pork belly for dinner
Peter Winner
Loved it. Brekky today with friends. Food great. Coffee great. Service friendly. Venue great. Prices reasonable.  What's not to like.

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!<br/><br/>My goodness, this place is terrible value for money, it's obviously a cash grab from the people who live in this area.<br/><br/>It is expensive and the worst serving sizes I have seen. The mains are entree sizes.<br/><br/>We had to order bread ($12 and stale) to fill up.<br/><br/>Service is shocking, inattentive and slow. They don't know what they're doing.<br/><br/>Wine @ $10 per glass looked about half full. I complained and they took 15 mins to send the manager over who reluctantly topped it up to an acceptable level for the price.<br/><br/>I ordered the $39 steak and all that was on my plate was steak......nothing else. If you wanted a salad you had to order a side dish @ $9 more.<br/><br/>Sure the view is fantastic, but honestly, go to a take away fish and chip shop, sit on the grass out the front and make an extra mortgage payment with the savings.<br/><br/>Pathetic.
Emz
Well location and view is fantastic. What was negative was the owners are the ones who takes charge of seating the customers queuing up to get a table.<br/><br/>The man who looks like the owner was arrogant. Not a smile on his face. Not a welcoming feeling when he comes to you to check table for how many. Apparently the place is booked out so pls make your bookings if you want an indoor seating during this hot summer period! He turned me and my friends off by asking how many people and said any bookings ? No bookings we are fully booked and you can sit outside but it is very hot. He spoked without a smile, not customer oriented at all. It is like u can sit outside but it is hot so you might as well not dine here attitude.<br/><br/>He did not say sorry we are fully booked so pls do booked ahead next time and nicely suggest we sit outdoors. Somehow I felt he was discriminatory as well. Just a feeling you get. Anyway every experience is different. Maybe mine was just one off case unless someone else can concur this.<br/><br/>I hope he will change in his service manners otherwise such arrogance and coldness for a restaurant is bad. That is just my two cents worth.<br/><br/>40 over degrees outside is really a bad as well for the whole dining experience. <br/><br/>Menu is limited choices of what you can eat for lunch. Lots on drinks list. <br/><br/>Ice coffees were not their fortes. Beer was good. <br/><br/>Oysters with Chardonnay and vinegar was yummy but tiny!<br/><br/>Snapper fish tortillas was good. Kingfish something on the menu was not very nice in my opinion. Pasta was good.<br/><br/>Overall, the waitress and waiters nice and friendly. But I give a low rating due to the person at the door which I think would be the owner. And I would not go back just based on that. Just based on my experience today. <br/><br/><br/><br/>
Georgie
Going by how hard it is to get a booking here I think Perth has been crying out for a place like this on the beach. Delicious food, great location and good service. We couldn't get a dinner booking but were able to get a table as a 'walk-in'. This meant we sat outside which was really nice as it wasn't too windy.<br/>We shared 3 of the starter/share plates between 2 and all were full of flavour, well presented and brought out promptly. We were thinking we would try more food but we were very satisfied but very keen to go back and try more.
Natasha
Beautiful location, City Beach and is an obvious choice for a new and well-needed venue, with Clancy's having held the fort for a while. <br/><br/>It has a similar aesthetic to Bathers Beach Club in Freo, but thank goodness not the same prices! Breakfast menu was limited but still had a bit of everything. <br/><br/>I had the avocado and grilled haloumi on sourdough with cherry tomatoes and chimmichurri sauce. Yummy and flavoursome but not earth shattering. Coffee was good as was the smiley service from both the wait staff and managers. <br/><br/>A nice restaurant in a nice area with nice food. Perfect for a Sunny Sunday before a dip.
Vanessa
Great food and service! I can't believe the low rating of this place! We took a drive to eat somewhere on the beach as the weather was lovely, discovered this place that has been open only 3 weeks. It was packed when we arrived and had a line out the door as we were leaving, at nearly 3pm! We were seated by a friendly front of house. We then ordered the fish and steak, both were lovely and came out quickly after we ordered, even though they were extremely busy. Impressive ocean views and a funky venue layout, great food, awesome wine list. Would definitely recommend!

Finally made it back here and so glad we did. Service has improved 100 fold and the food was great. So many interesting items, all big portions and beautifully presented. Loving the new menu. Will definitely be back!<br/><br/>02/05/18<br/>Disappointed tonight. Food was below the standard that it usually is. Kangaroo we’ve had at least 3 times each and tonight it was barely warm, overdone, under seasoned and just not enjoyable. The side portion of Brussel sprouts has lessened by about a third and yet the price remains the same. Service was good and drinks were enjoyable. We love this place and hope it’s not slipping...

Went to Odyssea on a Monday for lunch. It was very busy - completely booked inside, so sat outside and enjoyed the view. They decor inside is lovely, so I will book ahead next time to secure and inside table. Had a really yummy lunch, chose four of the share dishes, all delicious. Loved the snapper soft tortillas.Service is doing relatively well considering they have only just opened. I'm sure it will only get better.<br/>Thanks Odyssea!
Carl
Not restaurant fault... do not sit outside when lawns are being attended. Two hours( as food was slow) of mowing, edging and blower vac plus the fuel smell. unable to talk to dinning guest. Food, can't remember... just ate and left
Patrick Hayes
Commits one of my biggest hates in restaurant design. Which is that the interior decor is all style and no substance. The hard lines and surfaces leave the place with the acoustic properties of a Russian T34-85 tank. Couple that with the exposed "industrial look" the place has a seating retention rate of a muzz buzz. Although I believe this to be intentional in order to keep tables churning over I cannot put to cunning which can just as easily be ascribed to incompetence. <br/><br/>Food was ok, location is great. Only go here if you can be seated outside where it isn't intolerably loud.

Wow.<br/><br/>Asked waitress what the ceviche dish was like to which she responded that it was battered. When i questioned that surely it was raw with citrus (which is what ceviche is) she stated 'i dont know, i dont like fish'.<br/><br/>Went on to ask how the squid dish was done and she responded 'in a saucepan'. After couple more questions she said it was grilled. Ordered this dish, in retrospect yes it seemed to have been cooked in a 'saucepan'.<br/><br/>Asked whether the kale was fried and crispy or fresh and she incredulously responded 'fried?! Is that possible? Wouldnt that defeat the point?'<br/><br/>Ordered the sole vegetarian main that was literally ten slices of beetroot 5 overcooked 5 raw. After bringing another serving properly cooked they forgot my cutlery and it took two waitresses 5 minutes to get me another set.<br/><br/>Also stale bread.

Great position, boring breakfast menu nothing interesting to eat at all. service hectic, too many young staff. Will be great on hot summer day for a drink.

Fast service, although some staff could afford a little more hospitality training. None were rude, just inexperienced.<br/>Excellent, fresh food - will certainly come back.

Sit back and relax. Fantastic view and great location and warm hospitality staff. Very comfortable chair. Good coffee with my Avocado Halomi but the french toast was very dry and I'm not sure about bananas wraped with bacon. Caramel banana cake very yummy.

Great spot friendly service and very fast with food orders. The manger was great interacting with customers, dog friendly out in the deck which was nice to see will be here again for sure!!

Fantastic view, location, and decor. Obvious teething problems with staff, but beyond that some staff didn't even know the names of beer they were serving or what the food was called. Half of the wait staff that served us obviously had no hospitality experience whatsoever. <br/>Pricing on alcohol and some items on the menu out of control. Tried the Jerk Chicken which was liked boiled chicken no spice. Pork belly tasty but no crackle. $9 rocket salad the size of the palm of your hand. Entrees were not bad.<br/>

Second visit for brunch:<br/>15-20 min wait for a table. Ordered 2 x Bloody Ceasars and 1 x Bellini. Very tasty. We were sat on the shared benches and I immediately noticed that the stool height to bench ratio was perfect! Never noticed anything like that before. The lady sitting next to us with her family leant over and suggested we order quick as they had been waiting almost an hour (!). It later turned out their docket had been lost and they got their entire meal for free! Now that is good service. An apology would not have cut it. Anyhow back to the food. I asked if I could get the bircher muesli with peach instead of pear and it came out with peach, no dramas, thank you! One friend got the bircher muesli with pear and the other friend got the salmon dish and we were all very happy. Whilst we were waiting for our food, the staff came at least 5 times with food that wasn't for us! Yes I will be back to try more of their dishes as I had a hard time choosing!<br/>My first opening night! And what an opening night it was. Such a great venue, they are going to do so well. Lots of staff, all very pleasant and helpful and genuinely happy. The teething issues were as minor as a manager/owner not knowing what a lemon lime bitters is (!) and no steak knives (although the steak was cooked perfectly and didn't need one!)! My dining partners thought the Tasmanian oysters were the best oysters they've ever had. One dining partner said the salmon main was the best salmon he'd ever had! The chips came with a blue cheese and bacon dip which was divine, as were the chips. The scotch fillet was cooked PERFECTLY. The desserts were divine and very reasonable priced! In fact, the prices were very good in general. I can't remember the last time I've seen a lemon lime bitters for $3! Oysters were $3.50. Quite frankly, with this location Odyssea probably could have charged whatever they wanted and still had customers. But because they didn't, they have happy return customers. Ambience wise the decor is beautiful however the lights are a little too bright which had already been noted. Some of the runners looked a little clueless but for all we know this could be their first job ever (they were quite young) and the smiles more than made up for it. The breakfast menu looks magnificent and I cannot wait to come back.
