Review Hamptons City Beach - City Beach

Hyacinth Proud
Me and my husband went at Hamptons City Beach to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We both were looking forward with our dining experience since it was recommended by a friend and when we search for best seafood restaurant it was included in the list. When we got there we were amazed by how the restaurant looks. It's nice inside and it has a stunning view of the beach. The menu was great too and we both were starving reading on it. Staff were nice and quick service. We don't have to wait for a long time for our foods to be served. The foods were well presented. However, I gave it a 3 as I find that they could have done better with the flavours most especially with my hubby's seafood pasta. We both felt that its the same taste like the ones we made at home. For my food order, it was a hit and a miss. The salmon was cooked perfectly and its skin was crunchy. However I find the taste bland. Maybe a bit of herbs and spices or a drop of lemon juice. I enjoyed the black rice that its paired with and I like the idea that it's mixed with vegetables. As for starters, we had the calamari and it was spot on!! 👌 It was fresh and cooked with perfection. Very good service and food was not bad.

Speed in more than a few times for breakfast with friends and family. Coffee is good, breakfast options are reasonable and delicious. Service is prompt and the view is great. They also have a take away Bar for a coffee if you're on the run.

Friendly staff, freshly cooked delicious food accompanied by a great view. I could not fault a single thing. The price was worth it given the quality of the food and the location. Ample free parking is available. The Halloumi Salad and Fish and chips were both great. The salad that accompanied the fish was not just an afterthought, it too had great flavour and the fish was not oily.

Wow, wow, wow!! What an incredible place to enjoy a meal and drinks. The location is absolutely stunning. Set on City Beach overlooking the spectacular ocean. The drinks menu is huge and the martinis were most enjoyable. The food is tasty and so well presented. We had a few entree dishes but will definitely try a main next time. The pork belly looked incredible and the fellow diners stated it was delicious. The staff are professional and super helpful. One of the best places I've visited for a while. Great ambience!

Food and drinks were delicious. We had oysters kilpatrick the sauce was abit to thick tasted more like BBQ than worcestershire, chorizo sausage was lovely. We both got the pork belly for our mains beautiful presentation! Tasted amazing. Only problem is the crackle was hard to cut/break. Mine was alittle soft. For dessert my partner had the brownie & I had the panna cotta both beautifully presented and tasted amazing. The cocktails were lovely to. Beautiful view!! Also the stuff could definitely wear a smile some of them seemed very unhappy.

Really enjoyed my meal here! Salmon, croquettes & Squid were really good! Champagne with the view of the beach. It was really busy when we arrived but they were able to get us a seat by the window. Will definitely be back!

Friendly staff, not crowded when we arrived but we had made reservations (6pm). Food itself looked and tasted lovely. Will definitely be back.

Beautifully presented dishes. The smoked duck entree was divine! Love the gluten free options available.

Great views for a stormchaser. Great food even thou the plate was huge! I give you 5 stars cos you talked about food waste management and no plastic straws. You guys rock!

Had a lovely meal with the family. Everyone was impressed with the service and the quality of their meal. Thanks so much for providing very good value for our money. Beautiful view as well.

Wonderful experience at Hampton’s today the ladies were so accommodating & made us feel so welcomed & no trouble to fit us in for breakfast even though it was just outside of breakfast thank you so much!

Just celebrated my Mother’s 90th birthday at Hamptons City Beach, we were a party of 15 for lunch, I was so happy to choose Hamptons for our special milestone event a fantastic venue, food and service was amazing. Thank you

Absoultely beautiful place. LOVE the ocean view and the food is divine. One of my favourite restaurants ïżœ

My favourite place for eating out no matter what time of day! The location is a draw card but the decor inside is beautiful along with well chosen cutlery and crockery - not just the normal basic. Well thought out menu and have always enjoyed their food. Excellent staff too!
Sue Howat
Wonderful setting, awesome food, friendly staff. Just what we needed for our special occasion.

Very dissatisfied with the service and food especially for the high prices.

Excellent location for for drinks and light meal/nibbles with friends. If you are going for dinner, be warned, portions are small & Food = not as gourmet at prices would suggest. Overall, stick to the hamptons for light meals and cocktails/drinks(bar area is amazing).

*Rating is a 3.5*<br/>Have dined here many times in the past for both breakfast & lunch, as the location on the water is unbeatable. The restaurant itself is beautiful - on this particular occasion we dined outside on a sunny day overlooking the ocean and it was just perfection. For entree we ordered the house baked cob loaf (divine), seared scallops with black rice (ok but nothing special) and the szechaun baby squid (I’m not sure what made this szechaun, as it was very disappointingly bland). For mains we had the hamptons fish and chips which was good. Service was polite and generally attentive. Honestly the food here can often be a little hit and miss but <br/>it’s still a decent place to dine.

Without the amazing beachside location, this restaurant would probably be empty. Inflexible menu (would not adapt for vegetarian), rude young waiter with a terrible attitude, none of the four diners I was with enjoyed their meals at all. Incredibly noisy venue that has all the atmosphere of a carpeted bingo hall. Never again. An expensive and disappointing experience.<br/>

We came to City Beach several weeks ago and visited Clancy’s which was a nice experience, so we made a special visit last week to check the menu at Hamptons and make sure that it had several options suitable for my parents. My dad loves a steak, and they had a nice fillet on the menu so we booked for a Thursday night. It’s an impressive building in an impressive location right on City Beach with a vast inside dining area and a more casual decking area.
Chris
Lovely spot, nice menus and friendly staff. Drinks list is huge and outdoor seating would be great in summer
Kate Price
Friendly service from the moment I walked in the door. Slightly on the pricey side but serving was perfect and they accommodated a change to scrambled eggs instead of poached with no fuss at all. Everything was served quickly and hot. I’ll definitely be back!

Had dinner here on a Friday evening for a family birthday. Beautiful location for a restaurant however it was extremely noisy, granted it was a Friday so people were having after work drinks etc. The restaurant part is quite large but situated at the back so having to push your way through the crowds of drinkers can be quite annoying/overwhelming.<br/>Like other reviews mention, food is expensive but expected for the quality and the location of the restaurant. Everyone really enjoyed the food and presentation.

Beautiful setting - nice menu to choose from - awful service.<br/><br/>I ordered lunch for two - 45 minutes later the food still hadn't arrived. I queried this.<br/><br/>I was assured the food would be there in the next few minutes.<br/><br/>After an hours wait - still no food.<br/><br/>Apparently they had "lost" the order.<br/><br/>Staff did not appear terribly concerned about this.<br/><br/>My advice - Try ANY of the other restaurants in the area

The view is the best part about this place, service was dismal, just disappointing. Manager who seated us was not pleasant. Our server was sullen and looked like she did not want to be there. Many staff rushing about and the vibe overall was chaotic. 1 star for location and 1 star for food that was OK. Had high hopes but will not return.

Food was dry and not fresh. No atmosphere. Prices were steep for what you got. It was only 9:30pm and staff were packing up around us and felt we were pushed out the door. Disappointing.

** 3.5 star rating **<br/><br/>I came here with a group of friends for a birthday. We had an enjoyable long lunch. Beautiful set up and location over looking the ocean. Service to be honest was a bit hit and miss, more of a miss / let down. Food was delicious though. I had the pork belly for lunch and pannacota for desert.

Lovely place for pre show meal. We shared some entrees and we also ordered individual mains. <br/><br/>For entrees we had: Garlic Pizza- olive oil, garlic, fresh herbs, grated parmesan and rocket; Salt and Pepper Squid- with lemon and garlic aioli; Seared Scallops- with baby spinach, coriander and mango salsa, and pangratatto; and Sweet Corn and Pea Croquette- with dukkah, spiced jam and ricotta. <br/><br/>For mains we had: Pappardelle pasta with prawns, squid, clams, fish, chilli tomato pesto, garlic and evoo; Seared Tasmanian Salmon with roasted asparagus, manuka honey carrot and currant salad, potato rosti and lemon hollandaise; Crispy Skin Barramundi with roast Mediterranean vegetables, corn and potato rosti and hollandaise; BBQ fresh marron, caramelised fennel salad, rocket leaves, sweet and sour olives, and rose water dressing and 350g Black Angus ribeye, field mushroom ragout, dijon mustard, chips and port jus. <br/><br/>Great portions and delicious food. A great night with pretty good service. Would love to come back again.

Hamptons is everything you’d expect and doesn’t disappoint. <br/><br/>A beach front restaurant with awesome views and a good vibe. Unlike its neighbours, the restaurant feels open and airy. There are many sections to choose from - an outdoor deck area, a verandah and the inside seats faces various aspects of city beach. I’d dare so there is no bad seat in the house. However my pick would be the seats by the window closest to the banquette seating. <br/><br/>The service I’m pleased to say was top notch! All the wait staff were friendly and were always available to assist. The restaurant was pretty full given it was a nice warm sunny Sunday afternoon, yet it wasn’t noisy nor did it feel like the staff were too busy to help. Everyone had their section and we were well looked after. <br/><br/>The menu is modern Australian-Italian so they had the classics - we had oysters for entree, chilli mussels for mains and the pana cota for dessert. Everything was well presented and tasted great. The timing of the arrival of the food was perfect too. <br/><br/>Highly recommended for an afternoon lunch, early dinner or for impressing visitors with views of WAs great beaches and surrounds. Pro tip: They take reservations online so do book ahead.

Nice place for a breakfast or casual lunch with great ocean views. Wide selection of traditional food and good coffee. Service is good to. One of my regular places to go if meeting a friend for breakfast on the coast.

We visited Hamptons for the first time on a public holiday.  We both ordered the Tasmanian with hollandaise, rosti and a carrot salad on the side.  First up, the hollandaise was the best I've ever had the pleasure to eat.  I'm not an expert on hollandaise but this was light and creamy and lemony (which I think is the restaurants own twist?). It complimented the salmon beautiful and lift the meal to above average.  We were told the salmon  would be medium rare but it actually came out a little closer to well done but not so overdone the it was dry, it was still lovely and moist and tender.  The potato rosti on the other hand was a little underdone so the potato was a little on the starchy side.  The side of carrot salad was really delicious.  The service was pretty average. There was plenty of staff around but our water didn't get topped up at all during the night.  The atmosphere was a bit disappointing too, it felt like a hotel restaurant rather than a beach side place.  Overall though, we enjoyed our meal and would probably consider going there again

We decided to dine here for the only day my hubby & I would get to spend together over xmas due to work so thought we would try Hamptons. What a regret! The restaurant itself looked amazing, everything was clean & well presented, we chose to sit outside but once we sat down we realised the was no background music, no atmosphere... nothing so we moved inside. I ordered the garlic pizza & asked for it to be vegan friendly to which the waitress said was no problem at all, my hubby ordered oysters... there was none so he ordered beef & seared scallops. My “vegan friendly” pizza arrived covered in parmesan cheese... every piece I had to scrap off the cheese just so I could eat it. My hubbys beef arrived & if was very tiny for the price, the “seared” scallops were cold with a couple of spinach leaves, some mango & red onion. He was so disappointed. We have had better food at sizzler, not to mention they may actually listen to a dietary requirement. The total bill was over $160 for some of the most underwhelming food we have had & when your really looking forward to a meal, that is the most frustrating feeling. Best thing about this place was the view. Don’t bother going here, save your money & dine somewhere else.

I had a Pizza 🍕 which was just delicious 😍 I would recommend you to try the Pizza 😇<br/>And the view of the Beach from the restaurant is just awesome.<br/>

A brilliant position right on City Beach with lots of space indoors and outdoors. A fairly standard breakfast menu but this halloumi waffle with chorizo, egg and hollandaise was something different and was super tasty. The requisite higher prices that come with great locations apply here but the spectacular view makes up for it!

This is a nice restaurant, but didn't really deliver for me on the wow factor.<br/><br/>Setting is great, decor and layout is excellent, and I think for a summer lunchtime this would be an ideal spot to settle in for some grazing with friends.<br/><br/>But the 'look' of the restaurant didn't really match up to the service and food.  To the point where it felt a little out of place.<br/><br/>Don't get me wrong, staff were friendly and polite.  Food is good, but a bit more pub like than restaurant quality.  I thought they had a thoughfully put together specials listing, including specials for all courses, and drinks.  That was a good touch.<br/><br/>Pappadelle pasta with seafood was disappointing.  I thought this would be a marinara with pasta, however this devolved very much into a lot of pasta with 3 prawns, 4 tiny mussels, and a few small chunks of fish.  I had to request some chopped chilli to add punch to the sauce.<br/><br/>The pork belly as you will see was very on point.  Good flavours, well cooked and well balanced.<br/><br/>Desserts were pretty standard, although the bread and butter pudding was luke warm on top and hotter than the sun on the bottom.  Not sure how that was prepared, but it didn't work.  And call me old fashioned, but I don't think it is interesting to serve my dessert in a coffee cup.  I don't get where this idea come from.<br/><br/>Only other downside was not getting the dessert order completely correct, but only a minor issue that was resolved.<br/><br/>Overall I think this would be firing on a fine day with friends, but I think the dinner setting needs work.

Lovely dinner with the girls at Hamptons City Beach. Gorgeous views of the ocean. I had the salmon which was cooked perfectly, followed by chocolate pave for dessert. Lovely menu, excellent service, a calm but busy atmosphere. I’ll be back.

This is generally a good place to eat but the Salt & Pepper Squid we had the other day was disgusting - a $30 plate of salty batter with the possibility that there may have been some squid in there somewhere. Where’s the quality control?

Organised a baby shower for a friend at Hamptons today and it was a blast. They made everything so easy for us from booking the venue to paying the bills. Service was flawless even though the restaurant was full and there was another baby shower and birthdays happening at the same time! Food were delicious (incl the vegan options). Everyone was so happy and I'm glad to choose Hamptons for this special day. I'll definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to spend a lazy afternoon with a view.

Came here on two consecutive weekends.  First visit was for date night, second visit was with some overseas guests.  Here are the two summaries.<br/>First visit - Booked and got a great table by the window.  Seafood platter and the steak with prawn went down well.  The steak dish I thought was really good value, would order it again.  Dessert was beautiful.  I also like it that they offer ice cream by scoop.<br/><br/>Second visit - So impressed by our first visit, we brought some overseas friends over.  Again, the waitstaff was very accomodating.  Beef cheek, lamb cutlet and lamb shanks again were well received.  I ordered the snapper dish which came in a generous portion.  On this occasion, it was on the overcooked side, so it was dry.<br/><br/>Overall, very nice feel once inside the restaurant.  Lovely bar area and cake display.  Board games to keep kiddos occupied.  Service was readily available, and not obtrusive.<br/>So far the pick of the beach area.

Lovely service, was a date night so all went smoothly <br/>Food was well done and desserts were wow!<br/>I can imagine the beauty during sunlight <br/>Will be back

I came here and decided that I was going to have a steak which was served with thick fries 🍟 and onion. <br/><br/>This meal was absolutely delicious! I almost always ask for my steak cooked medium and this came out perfectly medium. The potatoes đŸ„” were delicious and cooked to perfect and everything just suited everything perfectly. The steak was juice and the sauces and potato complimented everything! This dish was marvellous <br/><br/>The atmosphere too is pretty awesome with an amazing view. Overall it was an amazing experience here with the view as well as the food! <br/>Would recommend!

đŸČ Oh wow! This place is beautiful and the food is like edible art, plus dainty delicious flavors across three courses. Mains did take a while to come out after entree but it was a busy lunch period.<br/>đŸ·Ask for a wine pairing with your meal - staff are well trained in this area. Water and drinks consistently checked on. <br/>đŸ’” You get what you pay for. <br/>đŸ‘đŸ» Fussed over by staff, food sublime, views amazing. Lots of parking located nearby. Will certainly be back soon.

Remember the old Pata Negra that broke my heart when they closed down? Here's a clone. You gotta try it yourself! One of my fav!! <br/>One thing I have to pick is restaurant has flies issue during summer. We were sitting inside but flies were everywhere.

Our go-to brunch cafe. Fantastic menu selection. Spectacular views of the ocean. Staff are very friendly and understanding most especially we bring a pram with us. Ticks all the boxes.

Stunning location, excellent beachside views. This would be an amazing place to have a function. We ordered a GnTea cocktail. I'm normally not a diehard gin fan, but the rose vanilla tea in this concoction added that unique twist which was unlike anything I've tasted- fabulous! I had the roasted mushroom salad with grilled chicken. Tasty, but a little light on the chicken portion. My friends had the seafood pasta. The freshness of the seafood came through, however that was the only thing keeping the dish together- not quite worth the price tag. The winner was the pork belly. Excellently cooked, and sauced through. A great place to come to on a sunny day when you feel like being a bit fancy :)

We went the for a function, whilst the general atmosphere was fantastic and setting beautiful,<br/>The food was a bit of a let down, the food on the platters didn't have very good taste and there wasn't enough food!! When wanting to purchase extra food the kitchen closed at 9pm which is a bit of a let down!!
Melissa
Favourite place to brunch and with a fantastic view! Every time we have visited, the quality of food and customer service has been perfect. My table has ordered a range of different dishes, however the french toast dish is my all time favourite. If you’re wanting to visit make sure you make a booking as they are quite busy over the weekends.

Checked the Odysea and Hamptons menus online and decided on Hamptons for brekky. Major regret!!! The menu wasn’t even the same as the one we saw online but as we had already been seated we decided to stick with it. Waited 45 mins for food to come out even though the restaurant wasn’t overly busy. Table next to us got their food first after being seated 10 minutes later than us. Waitress explained it was because our hash browns had to cook....? Avocado on toast was the worst I’ve had, and I’ve had a lot of avo on toast! The toast was barely that, a more accurate description would be “bread”. The avocado had that distinct taste of overripe. It was basically green mush on bread with a few chopped cherry tomatoes. Maybe my expectations as too high, or maybe the chef should get out there and sample the quality offered by other venues around Perth for a reality check.

Hamptons locate on city beach. The view is just stunning at anytime. We ordered so many foods. The oysters are fresh. The pasta is ok. The tata is good. The steak is ok. I am not a big fan of the gluten free beer. But the view makes everything perfect.

Beautiful restaurant. Lovely view. Great decor and cutlery. Food was very nice, top quality ingredients and fresh. You can taste the freshness. Good drinks selection and the desserts are amazing. Crispy salmon was just that, crispy, beautiful seared skin and cooked to perfection. Nice restaurant with lovely kind waitresses. Happy to go again. 8/10 on the Durtle scale.

I would say that this place is more "Hell's Kitchen" than Hamptons. We we went there for breakfast and were very disappointed. The main issue was my father in law's baked beans were off. We notified the waitress who was very polite about it and took the meal away. When we went to pay they still wanted to charge us for that particular dish. The maitre de was clearly not informed by the kitchen/waitress of what had happened. When my wife questioned what had happened rather than not charge for the dish he just took a coffee off the bill!!! Needless to say we won't be going back.<br/>

Looking for a nice lunch for my Mum and she loves the beach. Thought I’d try this place as she raves about the joint up the road. I was very happy. Great service, quality food and service that was very friendly. The prices were not too bad given this is a quality restaurant.
SFANDJM
Dropped in late for breakfast without a booking. The staff were very attentive and obliging even when we requested two of the smaller tables be combined to maximise the amazing view for our guests from the UK. Food was good and reasonably priced considering the venue. We will certainly return. <br/>

I have eaten at Hampton's probably 4/5 times now and I have to say, it is now my favourite restaurant in Perth. I love the service (especially the French waiter who each time makes us feel like we are his sole focus for the time we are there) and the food. It is so nicely presented and tasty. And on top of all of that, the location is second to none in Perth. With unobstructed views, I love watching out over the ocean while dining with family and friends.  I would highly recommend Hamptons to people who are sick of the poor service Perth has come to expect elsewhere. You will love it!

Probably worst dining experience I’ve had in WA in last decade. If you want a bog standard burger or fish & chips this place will do but it costs for nothing great. If you want a restaurant quality meal, then don’t go as they aren’t up to the job. We waited 1 hour and 40 minutes for meals off “today’s specials” and they were nothing special. Waitress tried her hardest but chef told her to go away. Terrible!!
Foodnmytum
Like other reviewers have said, the location and look is fantastic, but the food is poor quality. The waiters (plural as we had so many different ones), just seemed to say yes to everything if you had a question, but that didn’t match up with what was brought out. Things were not cooked correctly- shells were in our seafood too

I recently met up at Hamptons with a group of Mum friends for a rare child-free dinner, and let me tell you, this was a treat. We started with a taster plate with a mixture of antipasti items such as chorizo, marinated octopus, grilled haloumi, arancini balls and bread with olive oil. Delicious! <br/>For mains, I had the half chicken with Israeli cous cous, while other ladies had the crispy skin salmon or prawns with black rice. The chicken was amazing! So tender it just fell apart with a fork, and the cous cous had a very subtle, sweet but lemony sauce with it. <br/>To finish, I had the trio of ice cream or sorbet, selecting raspberry sorbet, vanilla ice cream and raspberry white chocolate ice cream. The combination was delicious. The raspberry sorbet was tangy and slightly tart, off setting the sweetness and creaminess of the other two. We also had tea with dessert, which came with beautiful little Royal Albert tea cups to drink from. <br/>We found the service excellent, with friendly, helpful staff serving us or directing us to our table. We always had a carafe of water, which is always important. <br/>The only downside I found to coming here was the parking is hectic. I ended up having to park down past the kids playground and walking back, and luckily I had two other ladies to walk with after dinner or I would have felt very uncomfortable walking so far in the dark at 11pm through the car park alone. So I’d suggest getting here earlier if you want to try and get a spot closer to the restaurant.

Our booking was meant to be outside and was inside!<br/>The main which was pork Belly was done that well. It came out with a jelly bag and not crisp as you would expect. The wine was not meeting my expectations, the dessert was not homemade as the waiter stated. The coffee was not good and didn’t come out as requested. The waiter didn’t appear as he knew what he was talking about. Not coming back here again.<br/>
Madeyoueat
Its location is great, right on the beach where there are green grass and playground for kids. There is a outside deck area perfect for watching the sunset. We have been here a few times. The first was for brunch. The food was great. My then 4 month old was a bit cold and the waitress kindly got him a rug to keep him warm.<br/>Before heading to this place you should really checkout seabreeze to make sure that you won't be blown away by strong winds. And if you have any romantic plans to sit on the deck, sipping wine and watching the sunset, you may be shocked if you're greeted with a 20knot wind. Still they have inside seating by the huge floor to ceiling windows, so you should still be able to have your view without the wind blowing your skirt up!<br/>The second time we went was at 6.30pm to have drinks and watch the sunset. Unfortunately the service this time around was really bad. We cannot even order drinks let alone food. When we eventually manage to order food, and it came to the table, the quality was good. However the wait did spoil it.

Menu was changed about 10 months ago and it is now outstanding. Recommend their almond milk lattes too.<br/><br/>Lovely for breakfast, drinks at 3pm, or coffee & cake. Lunch & dinner are not my favourite here.<br/><br/>Boardgames are lovely.<br/><br/>I recommend coming during daylight hours & book ahead of time.<br/><br/>Good for champagne breakfast too.
Matchamaria
Service was good but the food was average and also a bit overpriced. It's a very nice location overlooking the coast so that mostly explains the increased prices. Disappointed that my $46 filet came out as medium well when I specifically asked for medium rare.
Kerryn
It started well but went down hill. The positives are the view. It’s a great location with beautiful ocean views. We were seated in the deck area as we had not made a booking. No issues though, it’s a lovely area. You order at the bar but your meals are bought out to the table. I had the asparagus, my friend had smashed avo. Mine was delicious but my friend said the smashed avo was ‘meh, nothing you couldn’t get elsewhere.’<br/><br/>After ordering a 2nd tea each, things took a turn. At one stage I counted 5 staff at the coffee machine with no actual drinks being made. When a coffee finally got made it went to a staff member to drink. Nothing more frustrating than watching a group of staff socialize instead of working when you are waiting on drinks. <br/><br/>Overall it wasn’t bad but it’s not a place I’d go out of my way to recommend.

We had lunch here last week.  The view is incredible.  Our meals were very good.  The staff seem a little disorganised but overall it was a very pleasant experience.  One negative point is the airconditioning - it doesn't seem to work.  It was very hot in the restaurant.
Jasmackandherpack
Took hubby and bunt here for a Sunday breakfast. Highly recommend booking if you want the best table in the house! The food was good but the view is what you pay for. Understaffed for the size of the restaurant. I like that they do a kids menu and that it’s a little dressy... but rally it’s mediocre meal with a view. Very reminiscent of a breakfast at somewhere like the Hyatt - no bad, but not for the foodies... it’s safe. The entire menu is safe. I’d visit again for a special occasion because you really cannot beat that view!!

#2 came here today for breakfast... was a complete disaster...<br/><br/>Arrived at 1045 - we wanted breakfast so ordered immediately (as breakfast finished at 11).... 20 minutes in our coffees came and at 1210 our breakfast arrived. >1hr!! It was my mates birthday and we had a lot to talk about so we managed to distract ourselves well.<br/><br/>My meal- eggs were severely undercooked and salmon still had scales on it! Mentioned to waiter about eggs who stated 'that is how people like them ' not these people...<br/>Big breakfast no mushrooms. -Came out super cold. Was sent back and returned with mushrooms, the tomato and sausages missing and this time the toast had scrapings of avocado- as if it had been taken from another meal. Mentioned to waiter about sausages who came back with them.<br/>The French toast- was soggy and cold. The side of bacon was just heaps of rind.<br/>Was horrendous.<br/><br/>We asked to speak to the manager as no one could stomach their meals. <br/><br/>The manager 'angie' was amazing!! She turned the most horrendous dining experience into something wonderful. She was so apologetic. Warm. Friendly. We didn't even have to tell her how horrendous it was - she already knew and apologised immensely. Offered us cocktails/cakes etc on the house... but we didn't want any of that! We were just happy with the apology. She returned with a massive piece of cake for the birthday girl. Angie is the saving grace of that restaurant. I would never have gone back if it wasn't for her!<br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/>Service was good- slight mix up with tables and had to wait for a bit but not bad. Tuna was delicious as was snapper. Everyone complained it was dry but exactly how I like my food. They accommodated all my menu changes. Lovely view and atmosphere.
Yummy
If you want to wait 20mins for a drink, then another 40mins just to get cold food then this is the place for you! I got a pulled pork burger. The chips were ice cold, the meat on the burger was just a slab of pork, not pulled at all, and it was cold. I didn't send it back as I didn't want to wait even longer for a new one. I did notice there was a lot of food just sitting on the counter at the kitchen. <br/>We were at a table in the back and forgotten about. This was not the "nice Sunday lunch" we had planned for an engagement celebration! Would not recommend.
More Than Nourishment
The food was very disappointing, especially for the price tag. The crab prawn pasta lacked flavour even for me who can generally eat quite bland food. The cake display looked impressive and I didn’t know what to choose. In the end, I got the strawberry rhubarb tart. The filling was chunky and had a nice bit of sourness which I liked but the pastry was severely disappointing. It was too soft and dough. The tumeric latte tasted like warm milk with no spices and the long mac was lukewarm. The main pluses is the view particularly on a beautiful sunny spring day. Will not be returning.

An average restaurant in a great location (for daytime views, not much at night) a basic fish/chicken/steak menu, all round average food at average prices provided with happy but average service.<br/><br/>The interior decor and set up smacks of a restaurant pulled together on the cheap, odd mixes and styles, not cafe, not restaurant not modern, not classic, the owners have picked oddments from somewhere and patched it together on a budget.<br/><br/>Overall it's biggest problem is that while nothing 'bad' occurred this restaurant did not give me one reason to return, nothing surprised or delighted me, if the owners target is mediocrity, they have achieved their goal.

Over priced food which appeared beautiful but lacked execution, had wanted to try this place for a while decided to have birthday dinner here pork cheeks were dry , preztel started was over cooked and chewy, duck was still quacking and steak all though tasty the bernaise was extremely vinergery we may have ordered the wrong dishes but it was a diss appointed

Went there on Sunday for lunch.  Lovely setting.  Service wasn't good, took ages for anyone to take our order for both drinks and food.  Food was tasteless and extortionate prices for what you get.  One dish was wrong and some dishes came out way after everything else.  You are paying for the setting and views.

Very disappointed, my steak was well done rather than medium which I asked for, not very quality meat either. My kids chicken and chips was just driest chicken ever tasted. Fish was again very dry and no taste. Very very disappointed and never go there again. The service was very good except one lady.

The place is stunning, a big wow factor for me. The staff were lovely and accomodating, the food came out within minutes and tasted amazing. I will definitely be going back.

Met with friends for a leisurely Sunday morning breakfast.  Our first challenge was parking - even in winter so I suggest if you visit here in summer, finding parking may be a challenge. The ocean views from our table were stunning!!!  I ordered the english muffins, 'thick' cut bacon, poached eggs & hollandaise.  Muffins were quite small, bacon certainly was not 'thick cut' nor was there very much bacon at all, rather disappointing.  Poached eggs & hollandaise were nice.Husband ordered 'big breakfast' (his usual 'go to' dish for breakfast) which he was not impressed with.  In particular the sausage & beans were not good. After my meal I ordered flat white coffee & specifically asked for it 'very hot' and not surprisingly, it was not hot at all.  I didn't bother sending back as by this stage I really wasn't very confident the next one would be any hotter.<br/>Overall, The Hamptons is a lovely cafe / restaurant and if you manage to secure a good window view, the scenery is beautiful (very relaxing), however, we felt that we certainly didn't get value for money. The staff & service were fairly good.

Went to Hamptons' restaurant for lunch today to celebrate our daughters birthday.<br/>We didn't pre book just rocked up & the friendly bar staff showed us to a nice table overlooking The beach.<br/>The food was good I had the duck confit and we'd had 2 dishes of chilli muscles ( not spicy- no chilli wasn't called that) more a seafood mix of clams tomatoes purée sauce etc..) and a vegan mix of starters for my other daughter.<br/>Washed down with a pint of boutique beer & champagne for the missus. <br/>Coffee for the birthday girl. <br/>Food and drinks were well presented complimented by the plates & tableware.. Beautiful view albeit a wintry day and lovely ambience & attentive staff. Oh and the desserts were delicious.<br/>Friendly bar staff explained to me about the bar top being made from petrified wood over a million years old set in a type of resin I think the guy said a five meter section of bar was around $ 40,000 & the manageress piped in then and said she wasn't allowed to do any table-top dancing lol...<br/>Needless to say we enjoyed spending our afternoon there.
MmmMm Food
View is A M A Z I N G!!!! The restaurant is huge. Much bigger than I was expecting. <br/>I went for a birthday brunch, coffee - great. Bloody Mary's - GREAT (although the tobacco could've been halved) Food - great. We both cleaned our plates. I also had an addition of beetroot cured salmon, highly recommend!! Service was attentive & fast. Overall, great.

I can not fault the service at the Hamptons or the outlook. Unfortunately the food is just bad. My breakfast was served to me stone cold and with a dried crust on top of the beans. I commented to the waitress and she took it away to be replaced. When the replacement arrived it was hot, but unfortunately it wasn't tasty. It was more SPC baked beans then huevos rancheros.
The Ponder Room
As we move deeper into winter it’s nice to have a reminder of what waits on the other side. Some months ago I went to Hamptons City Beach and while it certainly wasn’t a great experience it gives me an opportunity to remind you about sunnier mornings. Venturing inside I found a range of sitting areas. Tables, booths, bar stools, and two outdoor areas and decorated in cool beach tones.

Great location and service. <br/><br/>Big let down with my dish <br/><br/>I had the duck tonight, lovely flavours of the sauce etc but the main component ie the duck was poorly cooked. <br/><br/>tough and zero attempt at crisping the duck skin, which was only slightly browned and the underlying fat totally un rendered. <br/><br/>So for two main meals plus a nice bottle of red (40 bucks) for a total of $120. <br/><br/>Would have be reasonable if the food was up to standard!<br/><br/>No rush to return

We came here for my work farewell yesterday. I had the seafood linguine & bread & butter pudding. The food was excellent and despite being incredibly full I had to eat it all! We had several waiters attending to our table - each were fantastic. Very friendly & helpful. The restaurant & setting itself are amazing.<br/>It was such a lovely afternoon & we will definitely come back to this restaurant.
India Stone
Not a place i enjoyed thoroughly as the breakfast i had (the avocado smash) was very different to what i expected so it was not enjoyed. The staff are very friendly tho and the view of City Beach will always be impressive.

My son and I came here for late lunch on Mothers Day. We were seated outside as it was full inside. <br/>We ordered some coffee and drinks and bread to start with. Coffee was great and bread was delicious. Our mains were the Pink Duck Breast with confit leg, carrot purée and oyster mushroom. And also the Prime grilled steak and chips off the kids menu. <br/><br/>My duck wasn't very good. I love my meat pink normally but this came out too pink and the meat was even slightly cold. I called the waitress to complain about it and she said it's served that way. The confit leg was very flavoursome but slightly dry and there wasn't enough carrot purée too. <br/>My son asked for his steak to be cooked medium. It came out well done. We both didn't finish our mains. <br/>For desserts we ordered the salted caramel choc tart and raspberry sorbet and also the waffles. <br/>My tart was delicious! We loved the sorbet and tart. The popping candy chocolate soil was nice but I wish there was less popping candy in there though. The waffles looked impressive when it came out. The ice cream was creamy but the waffles were extremely hard and tough. It was really bad, we couldn't even cut it up easily without force. We couldn't eat much of it and we also informed the waitress about it. <br/>-Gorgeous venue with amazing views. Service was good and friendly. Even the owner was friendly and checked around the tables to see if everything was alright. Food wasn't that great. But we would come back and try other dishes or maybe just for their great coffee, yummy looking cakes and the view!

We dined here as a family of four (two adults, two kids) today for lunch and really enjoyed it. <br/>The location was exceptional, food delicious and service outstanding. I couldn't fault it. <br/>Despite the venue appearing a bit high-brow from the outset, it had a very down to earth vibe about it and the staff made us feel very welcome. <br/>They offered a kids menu and casual dining options for adults, as well as more refined meals. <br/>We sat outside in the courtyard as the inside restaurant was full and although it was a bit cold, we were lucky to escape any rain. We were also offered blankets, which was a nice touch. <br/>I'd definitely recommend! We'll be returning.

If you read my post on Chinta, then you'd remember me complaining about the lack of brunch of opportunities I've had. Well, to my surprise Mr. T was given a particular Monday off from work and he planned a brunch date at Hamptons! . This place is absolutely beautiful. The dining area is decorated well and who could go past the sweeping view of the beach.
Yogi
My partner and I had a nice time here. She ordered the red emperor and I ordered the barramundi both were very nice. The waiter recommended Puku SSB to go with the fish and was spot on. Overall friendly service and great food.

5 star fine dining in a casual but elegant setting<br/><br/>I can not fault this place
<br/><br/>The food was sensational, beautifully presented and extremely tasty!<br/><br/>The staff were attentive and very friendly!<br/><br/>The location is perfect!<br/><br/>Not overpriced or pretentious like so may other “fine dining” establishments <br/><br/>With several seating options, there really is something for everyone. I love the fact that where ever you sit you have spectacular ocean views, I particularly love the centre open area which is sheltered from the wind with a good mixture of sun and shaded areas and a nice range of seating options for at least 8 people from high tables and bench seating to smaller tables for 2 to 4.<br/><br/>If you prefer to sit inside there are also lots of seating options including booths or seats at the bar, all with great views.<br/><br/>On this occasion we both opted for the duck special which was absolutely sensational
one of those meals that you just don’t want to end! (see picture attached) <br/><br/>The breast was cooked beautifully pink with crispy skin, it came with lots of different aspects but my favourite part that I thought complimented the duck perfectly was definitely the carrot and ginger puree
.divine!<br/><br/>With so many other things on the menu I want to try I will 100% be back again.<br/><br/>Well done Hamptons😊
Bernard Clark
4 people at the table, 3 of us had the seafood linguine, not a good dish (strangely enough) and complaint was lodged. The waiter was asked if the oysters were fresh and purchased daily? 'Of course', he said, but they looked like they'd been stepped on and were not fresh. The good part was the service and the wine list, the scallops were good as was the squid starter. Shame really because it's sitting on some of Perth's best real-estate and i'd love to keep going back, but i wont.
Sandhya1814
Visited Hamptons this morning, gotta say average service and good food. I had reserved for a table specifically outdoors, when i was making my booking i should have been informed that outdoors seating were all taken up. But i wasnt informed till i got there this morning. Not just that, taking food order took a while, we had to wait for abt 10 to 15mins before getting our orders taken. <br/>Well, besides the service, the view of the beach is nice and the food was good. If you were around the area and looking for a good spot to eat, yea why not.

<br/>Good food,French toast was perfect. Big breakfast has really good hash browns. Eggs in big breakfast and mushroom confit were done perfectly. <br/>New in house ice tea full of flavour.
NM
I ordered the brioche burger and asked that it be cooked well done as I am pregnant. As I took a bite into the patty the meat was still raw. Absolutely disgusted as I specified I wanted it well done and even stated that I was pregnant (which was clearly obvious). Never going back.

I am Asian! It is the first time come to here , Very comfortable place! There is a very nice beach scenery! Every waiter is very polite! They all have a nice smily face Very warm and delicious smoke salmon bread! The taste is really good and the price is fair! I will definitely visit here again 😘😍👍

Been here twice once for breakfast and again for even meal. Couldn't fault either both really good. Only negative I would say service could of been better.
Deb
Beautiful venue, had a booked table inside but could easily move to verandah as tables empty and the day was perfect! Service excellent and consistent, food generous portions, fish was slightly over cooked otherwise could not fault. Will be back.
William Bargmann
Went here for a late lunch with a mate.  Unbelievable, relaxing view on the front verandah.  Food was mixed.  Crusted whiting was good, but nothing special, duck with ginger carrot puree was excellent.  Side vegetables were oversalted to the point of being inedible. My mate seemed to enjoy his scallops and the scotch fillet looked perfectly cooked.   Coconut creme brulee was a bit insipid.  Wine was very good, but probably expensive (mate was paying). Good beers on tap.
Daniela Lumbaca
We visited for breakfast this morning & everything was quite tasty. We had the Big Breakfast, Bircher Muesli & 2 Skinny Caps.<br/>Food, ambience (beautiful views) & service were all outstanding. Coffee was average.<br/>Will visit again for a meal but not a coffee catch up.
Foodspree
Great looking venue, however, they label themselves as 'casual' although they mark up their pricing a tonne and staff are not committed - it is clear they are either inexperienced or do not enjoy working there. Best thing on their menu is their coffee. <br/>

Visited Perth from Melbourne on a sunny November weekend and my sister took me to the Hamptons for a really lovely early dinner. <br/><br/>We had buttermilk fried squid and chorizo crumb w/ aioli to start- seafood cook perfectly and chorizo added a nice saltiness.<br/><br/>Local mussels, Shark Bay clams, saffron cream sauce, grilled ciabatta and spicy prawn and mussel linguine, Shark Bay crab and clams with tomato, chilli and garlic- to share as a main (yep, I am obsessed with seafood!) Again, all perfectly cooked. Portions were of a good size.  Glass of Prosecco washed it all down nicely.<br/><br/>Service was friendly. View was spectacular along the coast, you can't beat it.<br/><br/>I did however feel that it was, like a lot of places in Perth, overpriced.<br/><br/>j.a.s. x

I have known this place since they were still under construction. Still remembered the moment when our car passed by and I told my Mr Hamster that we have to come here someday. Standing at the front door and looking through in, we both saying how fancy this is simply for an early breakfast. Still, we pushed the heavy glass door, asking and requesting the beautiful lady for a front sea view table for two.
Georgia Palladino
This place is really great! Beautiful decor and amazing location, the bar inside is a real piece of art! The service was friendly and prompt, the waitress said they had about 300 guests for lunch and although it was quite busy and noisy, it didn't feel too cramped. The food was great! Really good variety and beautifully presented. Pricing is on the higher end but nothing unexpected for this location. Really enjoyed our lunch here and would definitely recommend!

Gorgeous locale, beautiful interior, an alfresco bar area perfect for sundowners and the impeccable service nearly makes up for the "hit and miss" food<br/><br/>As much as I love the restaurant's setting and the wait staff attention to detail, this will be a drinks/snacks venue for me. <br/><br/>First visit was for dinner. The service was flawless but we left feeling disappointed along with some heartburn (joys of growing old - I miss having a cast iron gut). For a casual dining spot, the bill was at fine dining prices lol.<br/><br/>Some observations based on my dining experience.<br/><br/>1. If you're having dinner, make your booking after the sun sets. I spent 30 minutes wearing my sunnies indoors as I was facing the ocean and the glare from the sun was blinding.<br/><br/>2. Bring ear plugs lol. When the main dining area is full, you can hardly hear yourself let alone others. I reckon it's close to or even over 85 decibels. The background noise level is really bad and can be uncomfortable for the elderly wearing hearing aids. Some acoustic fabric on the walls to maximise soundproofing can go a long way towards attracting repeat customers.<br/><br/>3. Why do I think the food is hit and miss? Some of the mains have too many elements resulting in an unbalanced flavour profile. I had the squid ink pasta with seafood sans Crustacea. I only managed to eat a third as it was far too heavy/rich for my palate. The beer battered fish and chips is the best value by far. The sweet potato fries are divine.<br/><br/>4. I really really like Long Island Iced Teas :-). I didn't like the taste of the first LIIT so I spoke to a delightful bartender and we worked out that it was the use of anejo tequila instead of blanco tequila. Quick switch to Patron silver and bob's your uncle. There was an awkward moment when I had to return the fourth LIIT as it didn't taste right (due to the ministrations of a different bartender). <br/><br/>There are lots of things to like about this place. Just needs a bit of tweaking with the food. Less on the plate can be more and get rid of the "faddish" food. Let the freshness of the produce speak for itself instead of overdressing the dish.<br/><br/>

Hadn't read any reviews prior to coming so didn't have any expectations. The view was amazing, decor fresh and summery, plenty of staff and all very very friendly and accommodating. Food was great 4/5. Will be back for sure.

There's nothing to complain about today's brunch with my friend and kiddos this morning at Hamptons City Beach. We had such a great time. Stunning venue, beautiful beach view, delicious brunch dishes and good coffees. <br/><br/>I had New Orleans Fried Chicken, Sweet Potato Waffle, Chipotle Hollandaise & Pickled Chillies with extra scrambled Egg. Super loved the waffle, it's light and easy to eat. Fried Chicken was cooked to perfection. Loved the spicy Chipotle Hollandaise sauce, so creamy and yummm! Lucky I ordered scrambled egg on the side for my daughter otherwise she wouldnt be able to eat the chicken & spicy sauce. Scrambled egg was creamy and delightful, she loved it. <br/><br/>My friend ordered Confit Field Mushroom, Jamon, Poached Egg, Grilled Asparagus, Toasted Almond, Shaved Pecorino, Pangrattato & White Truffle Oil. So many elements but they complete one another. Mushrooms were plump and juicy. Grilled asparagus nicely cooked. Jamon wasnt too salty for me too. <br/><br/>We also had coffees, Latte & Flat White. Mine was good. Their coffee got a slight bitter taste but I didnt mind it at all. <br/><br/>We're served by several waitresses. They're all very friendly and helpful and attentive. <br/><br/>I wish I lived nearby so I can go to HCB everyday, haha. Undoubtedly a top notch restaurants, highly recommended.

This is one of the most beautiful restaurants in Western Australia. The restaurant is beautifully appointed and over looks the Indian Ocean with views across City Beach and its white sand.<br/><br/>The coffee is very good and they do a great breakfast!

Went here on Friday night bought the "Black Angus scotch fillet 300g" and the "Pan roasted Cone Bay barramundi"  both were disappointing.  The venue and setting were nice but wont be going again.

Our second visit yesterday was taking my 84 year old Mum here for her birthday lunch. From our greeting on arrival to leaving everything was top notch.  The service was friendly and efficient, the food was divine and the view - well what can you say. From every table you can view the ocean and the beach, even on a cool wintery day (in the middle of a Perth summer) the view was superb.  So good to finally have a restaurant with a stunning ocean view deliver on its food! And the food is very good. We ordered the Buttermilk Squid and home made bread to share, both are full of flavour and very tasty, the bread was a standout.  Then followed the beer battered fish and chips, Cone Bay barramundi and the spicy prawn and seafood pasta.  The 3 of us were very happy with our choices.  After that feast we had no room for coffee or desert, but the deserts looks very appealing.  A word on the staff, without fail we have found the waitstaff here are friendly, professional and very helpful.  They were very kind and extra attentive to my Mum helping to make her feel very special. We will continue to rave about this place to our friends and family and we will be back.

We hadn't booked a table and we were too late for breakfast and too early for lunch but managed to seat us in the lounge there was a reserved table free so we were allowed to sit there until the booking time. <br/>I'll have to say our coffee was terrible. Worst coffee in Perth. It tasted like it was a Nespresso coffee not a proper barista machine coffee. I had duck with confit mushrooms and it was nice however was a little over seasoned and the duck fat wasn't rendered enough. I had the coconut pana cotta for desert which was a little bland on its own but with the mango sorbet it was better. <br/>The staff were pleasant and very attentive so top marks there. The place is lovely but the food and coffee needs tweaking to make me go back there especially for the price of the menu. <br/>
Cranky Crow
I do love this place, but the last two visits in the past fortnight have been disappointing. <br/><br/>The service used to be amazing, but for some reason has noticeably dropped recently, which is sad. The kitchen does a great job serving consistently good food despite the huge number of patrons, but I wish they were less stingy with the bread.<br/><br/>The City Beach development has been great for the area, and I hope Hamptons gets back on track soon
Adzee
Yet again another restaurant that relies solely on the views. Service is terrible and the food isn't much better. Under trained staff that struggle to keep up with demand when the restaurant is only half full. I would hate to be there when it was full! Won't be going back.

**Update**<br/>Me again. Had lunch at Hamptons again last week đŸœ(life's tough hey?!). <br/>Sooo the pork belly is a MUST ! <br/>We rarely order pork belly as the one we do at home is almost unbeatable but the waitress convinced us that it was good. Delicious, best I've ever had in a resturant. 5/5. <br/>Food arrived hot! Tick!!<br/>Service was better. Did they read my previous review?? Thanks Hamptons, even Nanna was impressed!<br/><br/>Lunch at Hamptons today for the second time with friends. It's difficult for me to rate this place so here's my feedback:<br/>-Food: above average, well priced, well presented, nice menu. 3.5/5<br/>-Drinks: excellent stocked bar, well priced, great drink choices 4.5/5<br/>-Service: sorry it's been lousy twice. It's like there's a disconnect between waitstaff, bar staff and food staff. Food arrives cold, several wait staff ask same questions over and over or you are completely ignored. Kind of like a bad romance. All or nothing! 2/5 <br/>-Price- lunch seems reasonable to me- mid range for Perth coast upmarket. 4/5. <br/>-Venue: 10/5 !!! AMAZING!!!!! The building design is impressive, I love love 💙 it and the location is stunning. The bar is beautiful and huge, and a nice central point to the entire venue, inside is perfect for a winters day but you still get that priceless view, the outside protected area is great even when the SW is howling, toilets are impressive. To be honest, I find it hard to drag myself out of this place. I want to bring my laptop and spend all day working here. It's so inspiring !! <br/>Who ever the architect / builder / designers was/were -kudos to you. The finished product is spectacular. The attention to detail is nice to see and the building suits it's locale. <br/>So if you are out to impress visitors, it won't break the bank and I don't think anything can rival this venue around the Perth coast ATM. Just give your entourage a heads up on the service and you can't go wrong. <br/>PS- this would be a jaw dropping venue for a large day time function. FAB-U-LOUS. đŸ„‚đŸŒŠđŸŹ
Natalie
Had the king prawn, crab and avo salad and it was so beautifully fresh and delicious. Service was good. Would like to see the menu be a little more exciting and have more choice. <br/><br/>The venue is a little on the pricier end. Was a little confused with the decor in the dining area and the Christmas decorations that had been put up which looked very out of place when compared to the stunning fit out of the kitchen/bar area.
Kimo
On holiday here from Melbourne and I have to say the eggs florentine on their breakfast menu is the best breakfast I've had in a long time! The place looks very clean. Professional staff <br/>Great views too<br/>also, the toilets are very nice, 5 star hotel standards
Jellee Babee
Super impressed by this place today. The view is second to none -- perched high above the beach, you can see the ocean from every table and as the sun pours in, it's almost feels like you're holidaying on a cruise ship (at least it did to me).<br/>Our waitress Monique was everything I expect from a classy establishment such as Hamptons -- polite, friendly, attentive, thorough, prompt, with a good knowledge of the menu and food allergies particularly coeliac disease.<br/>Our food was the star of the show though. Everything our table of 9 ordered was wolfed down with only clean plates left behind. That's almost unheard of in Perth cafés these days!<br/>We ordered the king prawn salad x 2 ($28 ea) the fish of the day x 2 ($36 ea + barramundi substitute for pink snapper which they'd run out of), Thai beef salad ($26), roast chicken pumpkin beetroot quinoa salad ($25), wagyu brioche slider ($25), and from the kids menu, meatballs with zucchini noodles and a serve of roast chicken sliders ($13 ea). All of the food was really quite yummy and substantial, even despite ordering from the "light bites" part of the menu!<br/>Prices were very reasonable. Cocktail list ($18 ea) was delish (if not somewhat limited). Service was quick and accurate. And there's no cakeage as long as you cut n serve your cake yourself. They'll even bring it out with sparklers and sing happy birthday!<br/>Hamptons is one of the "in" places along City Beach and it doesn't surprise me. An ample sized dining room, a gorgeous alfresco bar area and an adjoining quiet lounge make it suitable for most ages and group sizes. While this establishment could easily have marketed itself to just the beautiful people, it actually does a great job of attracting every demographic with a menu and price range to suit most tastes and budgets.<br/>Really looking forward to a return visit at breaky time.
Diane
Had breakfast with 3 friends and we were all very impressed with the decor, comfy chairs, great service, food and oh that view. Only slight negative was the coffee, not hot enough and bitter chocolate sprinkle used on top of cappuccino but wouldn't let that stop us going back really soon.
David
Location, Service, Food, Atmosphere- all superb. Love the different sections where you can choose to dine and unwind. The pork belly entree and the chilli chorizo risoni were superb. My wife's pork cutlet was slightly over cooked but really, just a magic destination. Keen to return for breakfast as I have heard great things.
Miss C
This restaurant epitomises everything that's wrong with the perth dining scene - mediocre food, fine dining prices with crappy service. Let's start with the dress code 'smart and fashionable, yet casual dress at all times', whoever came up with this confused dress code was probably the same person responsible for the decor and fit out which I would describe as more rsl than 'Hamptons'. I don't know why you have to pay $55 for a scotch fillet, obviously the interior designer was significantly over paid. <br/>Positives:<br/>-the chips were delicious <br/>-service staff were friendly<br/><br/>Negatives:<br/>- dish we didn't order was brought to the table<br/>- pasta of the day was described as 'chorizo and prawn oricchetti' - pasta was in fact chorizo and snow pea oricchietti. If you are going to describe something as containing prawns one would expect more than 3. Ps who puts snow peas in a pasta dish?!? If one of the main ingredients is not described on the menu, it shouldn't be in the dish. I don't blame them for trying to get rid of the snow peas in a special because they are one of the most overrated vegetables ever.<br/>- short black was served in a cappuccino cup..<br/>- coffee cup had a lipstick mark <br/>- bill was incorrect<br/>
Renato
With much anticipation we tried Hamptons for breakfast after tennis. The interior is very average and feels more like a country club or a cruise ship than a contemporary restaurant - the stylist should be ashamed. After waiting 15 minutes to be served without water we then got one of two barely adequate coffees, still without water. Meanwhile staff were resetting tables. My Avo smash was very disappointing but my friend's eggs florentine looked and tasted great, which earned them the extra .5 in the review.
Perth Degrees Of Separation
I've been to Hamptons a few times now. The food is always excellent, the service usually annoying, the chairs uncomfortable, and damn, that carpet is ugly.<br/><br/>But as long as the food remains excellent I'll keep going back. Bonus points for actually having a beautifully fitted out disabled toilet, that's a rarity.
Sandy
Disappointed!Had to wait over 40 min for the mains to comeafter the starters. Services was very friendly but didn't make up for the fact we had to wait for <br/>1 1/2 hrs from the time we ordered to get our mains.when they arrived food was cold and my steak was raw. Firstly they didn't bother asking how I wanted the steak and then proceeded to tell me that this is how rare steak comes out although it was evident that it was bloody and raw. The manager later apologised but that didn't make up for the bad good.<br/>Won't be going there again!
Abby
Great location. Staff friendly. Awful service. Incredibly slow. Quicker to fly to the hamptons than get a meal here... As a plus good wine list. Will not return<br/>

Just trying to change numbers for a booking - 4 times I have tried (3 of them today and can see people in there but no answer)! Hopefully the dining experience will be a better experience than the phone service!

View amazing, decor shocking, food - average at best. Our group of 6 was really looking forward to trying Hamptons, sadly the food was similar to average home cooking. Shame, because the location is amazing. We won't be returning

Finally Perth has a great restaurant that overlooks our main drawcard, the beach!<br/><br/>Booked for lunch on the last working day before Christmas break. It was super busy but we were still afforded the seat we requested and service was fantastic... nothing was too much of a hassle, not overbearing or pretentious but switched on and very friendly.<br/>Food was also great - the barramundi had great Asian flavours and the steak was tasty, although unfortunately well overcooked. The chocolate tart for dessert was well worth it.<br/>Views of course, unbelievable. Probably the best in Perth and exactly what City Beach has been needing for the last few decades!<br/>Well done Hamptons, thanks for a great lunch!

Went for dinner on a warm night. Food is very nice, but took over 45 mins to arrive to our table! There seemed to be plenty of chefs in the kitchen and waitstaff but it was a busy night, and it's a huge restaurant. My friend asked where our food was and our waiter apologised and said the manager would give us dessert and tea/coffee on the house, which he did. Was a nice gesture from them. But the meals were very nice, and beautifully presented. The portion of barramundi on carrot and ginger purée for $38 seemed small for that price. But these are Perth prices lol.

The Hamptons is a coastal playground for New York’s wealthy, famous and glamorous. The new restaurant Hamptons City Beach emulates this and offers Perth dinners a sumptuous offering of a bar and restaurant, overlooking the Indian Ocean. Having dined at Hampton’s neighbour Odyssea earlier this year, Chef and I are keen to see what the newest City Beach addition has brought to this popular coastal dining strip. Would it be a similar offering of quality modern Australian cuisine by the ocean or something entirely different?

Six of us went last night for our bookclub Christmas dinner. <br/>Not impressed at all!!!!<br/>Firstly it took 20 minutes before we were given water and eventually the $70 bottle of wine<br/>3 of us ordered fish @39. ..ok....that is all it was...a lovely piece of fish!<br/>We all had to order sides as we we were still hungry. <br/>Asking for the manager became a debacle..<br/><br/>I will never go back!!!@

I have been waiting for months for this place to open. Finally has so I organised a Christmas catchup with my two best friends and our husbands. The venue is stunning. Fresh, summery, relaxing. But the food is average and the service was hit and miss. We started off with cocktails and I ordered the blueberry caprioska. The glass was filled to the brim and the waitress spilled it in front of me narrowing missing my pale pink shorts. When we asked another waitress where the fish in the fish and chips were from she had no idea. She also didn't know where the oysters were from. Now surely management should take their staff through the menu before opening so they know it. They were simple questions you would expect staff to know. There were another couple of things as well but I can't remember them now. I ordered the calamari for entrée and the lamp chops for main. They are generous portions but the meals were just ok. Not bad but nothing special. Nothing outstanding. Was rather disappointing. We won't be hurrying back anytime soon for lunch or dinner but perhaps breakfast would be nice in the alfresco area. They have certainly spent a lot of money and time creating this place. I only hope they continue to improve with service and food

Even though we booked for a party of six several weeks ago we arrived only to find that we were placed on a table within the noisy bar area and obviously meant for bar patrons and right next to the toilets. So very disappointing. Bar staff also strained my husbands scotch when he told them he ordered it without ice rather than provide him with a new glass. Food was okay but given our experience we won't be hurrying back!

What a beautiful venue. Went with family on a Thursday night to celebrate husbands birthday and we all agreed this was fabulous, restaurant full to capacity which proves its popularity. The friendliest service you could hope for, food very good and views to die for. About time we had some class on our waterfront. Well done Hamptons!!<br/>Anna

Food is great but the decor. OMG its like an airport terminal lounge. They need to get the restaurant fitout re done. Such a shame the location is amazing.

Of course, beautiful view that's a given, reading through these reviews shows me that people need to understand a little bit better the teething issues a new restaurant can face. I write my review hoping it will help management target these issues and improve. We came for breakfast on Sunday, no doubt usually a busy time as Perth people do enjoy a good brunch, especially on a beautiful day and by the ocean. We were greeted within the first minute of coming into the establishment by a friendly and helpful staff member and chose to sit outside. Our drinks were ordered straight away, they did take some time to come however I know drinks orders at busy times can back up very quickly (I work in the industry too). Something I did notice happen a couple times was the staff did not seem to know the layout what so ever... drinks were going to tables that did not order them, the waitstaff looked confused and we got asked twice if some drinks were ours. Knowledge about the food is not quite there, I asked a question about the granola and chocolate garden as I thought that sounded enticing and interesting, however she did not know how to explain the meal... new restaurant I understand but a simple meeting and food siting and tasting, deals with this issue quickly. <br/>I cannot fault the staffs bright and friendly attitude, which is a good base, but make it easier on them and give the poor guys and girls some training.<br/>Will definitely be back to try the dinner menu!

Ok so I'm going to sound harsh but this is meant to be an encouraging review. So to start with the positives, the view is amazing, definitely one of the best in Perth. As an aside, begs the question why it has taken so long to have beautiful restaurants on our amazing coastline? Anyway, lets just be happy we have a few now and can actually feed visitors from over east or overseas when we show off our beaches. Back to the review. It's early days so I'm more forgiving than usual. When we got there they had more staff than patrons but yet it still took 10 minutes to just order drinks. One of my constant gripes in Perth and something that must frustrate owners: wait staff, you have to know customers hate being ignored and I'm not that much of a tosser that I will make a big deal and wave you down like some people do. We just want to be served! You want to make money for your employer. It's win win, so just say hi, introduce yourself, ask us if we want a drink, keep an eye on the glass or bottle so you can then get in early and get us to order more. We will be happy and the owner will be happy. So please, just do it! Anyway, I will just copy and paste this rant as it's probably more directed at where I had lunch on Friday (see my review of The Reveley). Now where was I... so the Hamptons is supposed to be up market and based on well the Hamptons where the rich New Yorkers go. It's also a stylish type of architecture making somewhat of a revival in Perth. There are some white wooden slats, um the coast view and well a sign to tell you it's supposed to be the Hamptons. But I'm sorry, I really wish they'd paid a decent architect or hey, buy an interior design magazine because Hamptons style or even cheap knock off this ain't. It's a large cafe at the beach with carpet belonging in a hotel or casino. The staff are a mixed bag, most admitted it was their first night but worst their first job. I'd guess straight from MacDonalds judging by the complete lack of training, awareness, style, food knowledge or wine knowledge. I felt bad for these kids, they're just out of their depth and need an owner who will invest some time training them. Do I say this to be mean? No, I say it because I want the owner to read it and do something about it. Now the menu... it's ok, but just ok. You could get the same grub at most pubs these days. The croquettes were nice. The olives and chorizo was quite horrible with I think 3 different types of sausage mixed in some cold oil, olives that may possibly have just fallen off someone's tree and drowned in oil and borderline raw onion. Not good. For mains we had a mix. My beef cheeks were ok but massive clumps of onion and way too much jus that was just watery muck. My guests had the barramundi and the pasta and the consensus was similar: ok but not great. None of us finished our meals which is saying something. I chatted to the table next to us and they said their kids didn't even finish the chips!?! They did look dry and overcooked. Now the wine, another gripe of mine is lying (and yes I mean that because it's too common for it to be an oversight) about the vintage of a wine on the menu then bringing out an inferior year and charging the same. No apologies, a weird "the winery changed vintages" excuse. What does that even mean? I bought the advertised wine at a bottle shop 2 days ago for less than half price and deliberately avoided the younger vintage. Change the menu or be true to it and order the right wine in and not rip clients off. It devalues the winery and makes people want to order something next time. Anyway, we cut the night short. The dessert menu was too boring for words. This could be a good place. Don't do an Indiana on me and waste your view. Train your staff, lose that carpet(!), honour your wine list but most importantly get some better chefs in with some flair and skill. You will no doubt be successful over the summer because hey, this is Perth, you're in an amazing location and Perth people love the idea of going somewhere that's hyped to be cool and New York. The reality will hit home pretty quickly and social media can sink you quicker than anything these days. I don't stoop that low yet. I will see you in a few weeks and let's hope things have improved!!

This is my second visit. Love the place, food, location and staff (considering their abundance), they struggle to get coffees out within half an hour. We were warned today at a 10am breakfast sitting the wait was considerable which was polite, however strange with 4 people behind the coffee machine?! Options.. get a second coffee machine to supply the demand or have staff better trained!? This is the second time we could not order a second round of coffees due to the wait time. I see that being a huge problem going forward for the place!!

Fantastic food, great service with the most incredible view! A group of us were at another cafe who had stopped serving breakfast. We called Hamptons and they allowed us to place the order over the phone before getting there to ensure we got our orders in before breakfast was over. Staff were so attentive and more than happy to assist us with the younger children we had with us. Great place - will defs visit again!

What a fabulous start to a Sunday. Fabulous  views, tick, stunning décor ,tick, outstanding Customer service, tick, Devine food, tick...Need I say more. This place oozes a relaxed cool, very hip vibe. Service was great, coffee was amazing and served at a perfect temperature, even the coffee cup was super cool. I could not stop looking at small things like amazing cutlery, really nice plates, even the serviettes were of good quality, a little weird but I love those small things.3 of us scored a window table, and enjoyed the Boston Bay beans, with chimichurri and baked egg. YUM, Perfect amount of spice. My partner had the salt baked polenta with corn salsa and that too was great. The other dish was bacon and eggs and was cooked nicely. We found the prices too for the location were good. We will defiantly be returning, lovely addition to Perth.

I had a late lunch here on Saturday with a large group of friends (14). The staff coped well with us all arriving at different times. That were very flexible in allowing us to pay for drinks as we went, and were ok with each person paying individually for their meal. The food was faultless; very tasty, fresh, and beautifully presented. The desserts in particular were works of art. The whole group enjoyed the experience and would go back. I should also mention the stylish, <br/>modern dining space, with the best backdrop you can get - the Indian Ocean metres away.

Came here on a weekday for lunch and found the place bustling with people enjoying the first sunshine for summer. Location and the natural light in this place made me love it immediately, just a nice clean crisp feel about the whole place. Panoramic views of the beach and horizon was also stunning. Great space for functions. I had the beef cheeks which was fall apart and delicious.<br/><br/>Reasonably priced given location, though service is slightly slow when busy. Will be back!

Fantastic location and setting. Been here for dinner twice. Food was sensational but can see they are still having a few teething problems with the service. Tended to get forgotten when things really got busy. However once you had their attention, the staff were very accomodating. Wine list is sensational - plenty of choice by the glass or the bottle. Will definitely be back again whether it's for a meal or just a drink.

Ruuuuuuddddeee <br/>Yes we are a mothers group and have babies. Our prams were outside and not in the way. No, I don't think it's too much to ask what brand almond milk you use. Don't think it required an eye roll from the grumpy waiter and then a "oh just one in a blue carton" response. Then followed by a sarcastic "did you want to see the bottle?" <br/>All while trying to rush us off a table that was reserved in two hours time and the place was empty!!<br/>Get some younger waitstaff with a real idea of customer service. That old grumpy man let the whole team down. How could you even be grumpy working with a view like that?!<br/>Nice view though đŸ‘đŸŒ<br/>

Some amazing things are happening in City Beach. Impressive new development and this place is one of the recent openings. It has spectacular views of the ocean and endless parade of beach goers. I was lucky to arrive very early and got one of the seats next to the ocean window, but they have a balcony which is even closer, a courtyard and an amazing large bar with lots of seating. I was given the menu, and left for a while, but was in no hurry to leave the view. My order was eventually taken, and I went with the eggs Florentine, long Mac topped up and a Bloody Mary. Coffee arrived amazingly hot and was strong and wonderful; a long time since I have had coffee this good. My brekkie arrived soon afterwards, and looked great. It was perfectly balanced flavours and have to say it was also one of the best Florentines I have had in a long while. Two hits, and then the Bloody Mary arrived, and it too was great; nice kick of spice! Beautiful views, excellent coffee and food, and the service was relaxed and friendly. Shame it is not that close for me; otherwise I would be there every weekend.

This place ROCKS. the food is awesome. The staff are ultra friendly and the service is great. The venue manager was Craig and he was happy and friendly which is a massive change. most are grumpy.<br/>My wife and I went there for our 18th wedding anniversary and the bar manager (Adam) set up a tray with my gift to my wife and bought it out for me. Was so good to see they actually care. There was 4 birthdays on the same night and 4 staff gather around each birthday guest and sing. It was a real pleasure to see the effort they put into making each guest welcome. MASSIIVE congrats to the owners. See my photos.

My husband and I went for breakfast and left very disappointed and hungry ! The location and staff are great but the food was a let down and very overpriced! I emailed my feedback and got no reply which I think is very unprofessional. I work in hospitality and a little bit of acknowledgement would have been nice. $20 for smashed avo for one tiny piece of toast and was still hungry. My husband ordered a double portion of bacon and got 2 tiny pieces. The staff were great though.

Service was terrible. We were not given any attention for 20 minutes and when someone finally came they asked for our order even though we clearly hadn't even been given any menus yet! Ordered the fish and chips- the chips tasted like they came from a packet of Birds Eye from the supermarket! The staff all seemed to be confused and we were nearly given drinks we had not even ordered. <br/><br/>The decor inside the entrance is similar to that of a retirement home- such a shame because the outside section is awesome. <br/><br/>This could be a really great place but the staff need to be trained in simple customer service and maybe a re-think of the carpet....

Fantastic beautiful location with great views. Busy place but excellent service.<br/>Brioche French toast, maple syrup, fresh berries, maple cream $16<br/>Smashed avocado on ciabatta, cherry tomatoes, fetta, poached egg, pepitas, almonds $20<br/>Flat white so so.

Came to spent a romantic night with my husband with a last minute booking only to realize how easily somebody could make the night perfect for us. We dine out a lot, I write reviews primarily on other locations however Hamptons needed another fantastic one on here for the people contemplating weather to go or not. This place was stunning from the moment we walked in and kept impressing all night. The young but highly efficient staff were very professional and made the whole dining experience enjoyable. Our waiter was Bailey and even when we tested his humor with a few jokes he stayed professional and catered to our needs. We have not been served so well in such a long time and we will definitely be back. The food was absolutely amazing, first of all the oysters were one of the best we have ever had! The salmon tarter looked like a piece of art work and tasted like something out of the best fine dining restaurant in the world. All up, Bailey was fantastic, energetic and made the whole experience worth while! We will be back!

Whoever is responsible for training the waitstaff here needs a raiseđŸ€—<br/>Some of the best service in Perth I have seen in 8 years here.<br/><br/>Well done Hamptons.

Beautiful location the view is stunning. The restaurant tables are very close together and made us feel a bit like sardines. The restaurant is luxuriously appointed. I ordered risotto which was awful like gravy and soft rice with nothing to add texture - very disappointed. Service wasn't good but the staff were new, friendly and learning - to clarify it was a soft opening night that I attended and we were being charged 50% of usual cost of food. Still came to $75 per head though. Very disappointed but will try again as it is a beautiful spot and hopefully it will improve with time.

Very very impressive. <br/>Lovely location, incredible views of our gorgeous coastline.<br/>Exquisite food and great service. <br/>Friendly helpful staff who appeared genuinely interested in us. <br/>A very enjoyable experience from start to finish.

This restaurant has a luxurious feel to it and I'd recommend it for catchups and dates. The prices are quite reasonable for brekky with a lovely view of the beach and great service. I had the polenta with corn and it was really yummy! I will be back.

Nice food, but dreadful service. Very amateur wait staff. Meals for 4 all came separately, we had to ask for bottled water 3 times, no one came near us to ask if we wanted dessert or coffee, very poor. Might be better for casual breakfast or lunch rather than Saturday night dinner.

Really enjoyed our dinner experience here. It was a busy Saturday night, but they managed to squeeze us in. The restaurant is big and cavernous. I'm sure during the day the day the view must be amazing, but of course at night you have to look at the interior more, so, what is with the hideous carpet? Anyhow, we didn't come here to look at the carpet, and in every other respect the restaurant was superb. The service was top class, really professional (our waiter was french, from Paris) but also friendly and casual. The food was delicious, couldn't fault anything and then to top it off,  desserts to die for. The open kitchen with its army of chefs was certainly producing the quality. So often you are let down by the kitchen when a restaurant relies on its location/views, but that is certainly not the case here. Prices around what you would expect. Will definitely be back.

Excellent service & food<br/>We enjoyed our lunch , we have also been for dinner, both times the service was great & we are looking forward to our next visit

Beautiful location. Have been eagerly awaiting the opening and after last nights experience it was well worth the wait! The food was delicious, well presented and prices high average for Perth. Wait staff were friendly and attentive. Only negative was drinks took quite a while to come out but being so new and probably still finding a system that works = no biggie. Will be back for sure. Best food we've had out of all the options at city beach.

Spectacular sunset made us feel like we were on a cruise ship sailing in to it. Food portions a little small but good presentation. Finding its feet but could plush up well.
Tasty Morsels
What a beautiful location for a restaurant! We arrived to be greeted by very friendly staff and a wonderfully spacious dining area. The views of the beach are spectacular! There were 16 of us and we were all treated and served impeccably. The dishes we ordered were varied although the majority went with the steak which according to reports was sumptuous. I tasted the pork dish which was to die for, succulent and tasty! I had the spicy crab which was lovely, maybe a bit more spice though. This restaurant will go off like a frog in a sock come summertime. So wonderful to have the best of all 3 in Perth finally.....Great Service......Great Food....Great Location.

The Hamptons is the out of town playground for New Yorks rich and famous. Now Perth has gotten in on the action with the latest lavish coastal instalment that is Hamptons City Beach. City Beach as a coastal dining destination is really stepping it up of late. It’s fitting because seriously the view from the Hampton’s dining room is postcard perfect, white sandy beaches and rolling blue waves.
