Typika has been my go to place for breakfast/brunch for quite some time now and with good reason. A steady line of patrons waiting to dine is testament to the fact that they have all the elements right here - consistently good food, great coffee, efficient service (food comes out quickly) and a lively, nice ambience. Menu has some really interesting options if you feel like something a bit more adventurous than eggs/toast - angry bird which is delicious, tea smoked salmon (so good) and mushroom & leek ragu on toast. Bircher muesli and pancakes are also delicious here. Definitely worth a visit.
This place has the best ham and cheese croissant! As well as excellent coffee.
It is very loud warehouse environment, but love how they use the space wisely.
Typika is a great place to dine in. I loved the new dishes and drinks. The staff are friendly and the service is 5 star. Will definitely come back again.
The ribs never disappoint - large portions and tender. Wagyu Burger was juicy and tasty. Chicken with salad was good too. Milk shakes were disappointing - less thick now probably due to change in type of cream or milk? Service was patchy too and servers were mixing up orders between our table and the table next to ours.
Delicious fusion style breakky. Really loved the creativity of the menu which is so refreshing. Had the pork belly chashu bao and dang dang beef. Both fantastic. Good quality coffee as well. Friendly service and lots of tables so wait times are minimal
The breakfast place near me was dropping in quality so tracked out to Claremont to try these guys. The coffee is ok but the food tho OMG! Had the Dang Dang beef which was awesome. And a yuzu lemonade drink which was also pretty good
Came here for brunch with my partner. Lovely atmosphere and decor. The food was amazing. Nice presentation and flavours were good. Partner really liked his vanilla milkshake too. Would recommend.
A lovely cafe, with great customer service. Breakfast is a decent serving & the coffee was good, I found the french toast caramel sauce to be too much for me, but would order again with the sauce on the side
Along our travels dealing with some matters in Perth, we were struck down by hunger pangs. Doing a quick search of good food nearby, Typika was the the most popular, so we pulled up there to get a quick lunch. Being somewhat late in the afternoon, the lunch crowd had long gone and we had most of the place to ourselves.

Final verdict: an excellent gem of a place located in the heart of Claremont. A big warehouse cafe with so much inside space like I have never seen before for a cafe along with ample seating space as well. Courteous and smiling staff always alert at each table and looking after us. Buttermilk pancakes tasted dry as we were eating it. Maybe glaze it with a lot of syrup and cream next time. Finally, parking is a big problem since it's Claremont. Only 1hr parking spots. I suggest parking at 2 hr bays if your coming at the weekend since after 12pm it's free parking but it does not apply to the parking spots beside typika. Other than that, I'll be back again to try something different next time. Ciao!

I prefer flavourful food - recommend pork rib rack and dang dang beef. I keep ordering these 2.
Pork: great flavour never dry. Falls off bone easily. The apple slaw is refreshing. The chips (potato, sweet potato) is the best sweet potato chips I've ever tried. Tasty, crunchy, the right texture with a bit of herbs on it.
Beef: rich flavour great first impressions. Can be a little much after a while. Salad is punchy and i personally prefer this one over the apple slaw. That dressing is magical.
Added another mac n cheese ball to even out the beef. It can get messy eating these dishes but it's all good fun. I'll be back to reorder these as i I'm obviously a tad addicted.
Typika I think provide one of the most consistently satisfying culinary experiences in Perth. Many cafes have come and gone but Typika is here to say (see the two neighboring cafes shut down in the last 6 months...)
Typika is upping its game in the perth food industry, I mean just look at the new menu! miso pork eggs benedict?! Who does that and who knew it would work so well together. It is so exciting to see so many Asian-inspired dishes along side the usual brunch classics.

I worked in Claremont 2 years ago and moved overseas. Coming back, it was great to see that Typika, my favourite place is still doing all the right things. Also was delighted that the mushroom and leek ragu on toast was still on the menu. What a treat!
Lovely decor, beautifully balanced meals and friendly staff. Just a bit surprised they are still using plastic straws! Would especially recommend the salmon dish and coffee frape :)
We came here this arvo for some lunch and was so impressed with the ambience, food and staff courtesy... We ordered the char sui pork bun, vietnamese coffee, caramelised pork sausage, chorizo, naked latte and spicy beef and eggs benedict... It was delicious... Just cannot find anything wrong... Service was quick too.. Will definitely recommend this place to friends and come back again!
Really great spot! We came on a busy Sunday morning and were seated straight away as this place is so big and lofty. The menu was huge and everything sounded divine and it was nearly impossible to narrow it down which is quite unusual! We eventually settled on dang dang beef, the angry bird which is chicken and waffles and some mac&cheese croquettes which were a special...and my goddd there was so so much food!! I loved it all but in particular the chicken and waffles won it out for me.
The only negative was to say that three different staff members came to take our order after being seated probably 3 minutes and each time we weren’t yet ready however when we were finally ready it took them a good while to come back to us. Probably more communication would improve this but that is just me nit picking!
Awesome cafe, so much variety on the menu and you can have "breakfast dishes" at 2pm in the arvo.
I tried the summer special at the time - Black Sticky Rice w Coconut & Mango - and it was delightful, so light and subtle sweet flavours.
The Mac N Cheese Bites are so yummy and the Beef Ribs are falling off the bone with a smokey flavour.
Cafe is huge and nice and "open" so getting a table is a lot easier than at other similar cafes and it doesn't feel too crowded. We were there on a Saturday at 12.30pm. Traffic and parking around there is very frustrating though.
The best pork ribs in Perth! Super yum, tender, fall of the bone with melt in your mouth sauce. Well priced for such a big slab of ribs. So Satisfying even for a big eater.
Tea smoked salmon was an elegant dish that was simple but it was done so well.

Great place, delicious food. We ordered the Angry Bird and Spiced Beef Benedict. Both were really yummy. It was abit cold inside. Sometimes it gets quiet busy but food always comes out very fast. Parking is also good, there's an open area car park or can also park at Claremont Quarter.
Love typika!! Its really big and you get seated pretty fast. Customer service is good and staff are pretty friendly. Coffee is also good with depth of flavour and good crema. The french toast is the bomb!!!

Went for a brunch today as recommended by a local here. The place is huge so we were seated straight away. We ordered coffees and hot chocolate to start, i was a bit sad when the coffees arrived with no latte arts on top. Its kinda expected for a brunch place this big especially who is a specialty in coffee, well maybe not in this city. We ordered the eggs benedict and angry bird, both were really good and we cleaned the plates completely. Service was good too and Free WIFI!
Went with the tea smoked salmon, avocado and poached egg on toasted rye with homemade sriracha. Delicious and great balance. Coffee was good. Service was ok

pricey, but that french toast is the bomb! they're always generous with the ingredients and sauce which go amazingly well together. the pulled beef eggs benny is also tasty although the portion for the price is a tad small in my opinion. coffees are always nice and service usually pretty friendly as well. we always bring our overseas visitors here, so it must be pretty good!
Yum! Yesterday I had the buttermilk pancakes and oh my god, delicious. Couldn't fault this place one bit. Quick and friendly service. The food was also fast coming out. Typika is quite a big cafe and there was still a line to get in after we'd sat down on Sunday! We were straight in as we ate early but it's well worth the little wait.
Haven't been out for a Sunday brunch for a while and aren't I glad that we chose Typika. I chose the Spiced Beef Benedict and thoroughly enjoyed it to the last bite. Finished off with a cheeky salted caramel cronut. Coffee was great, service was prompt and friendly and I just loved the funky feel. Didn't disappoint, will definitely be back!
Fun place with just enough ambience. Not too hip :) We enjoyed the beef ribs and the tangy Vietnamese-like salad. Angry Birds was good. Poached eggs combo from breakky menu was so so.

I recently had the pulled lamb dish on the potato hash brown with a fried egg. Oh my goodness! One of my new favourite breakfasts.
Nice place and ambience, sometimes it can be quite hectic and hard to talk to when you come in a busy time of the day. Otherwise, the food and coffees are good and the portion is quite substantial which is probably why they are quite popular in the area. Our favourite menu this time is the angry bird (Korean style fried chicken) and the pulled pork quesadillas.
Very chilly inside the restaurant but guys.. it was amazingly delicious. We loved everything! Pictured is the brioche and bacon & eggs. Wear some warm clothes and enjoy a yummy feast.
Soft, creamy scrambled eggs on toast ($12.50) with a pot of butter. Eggs were cooked perfectly though the toast was a little hard to cut. Not the biggest serve but worth a visit for the price.

General table feedback of the food was positive , service was friendly and efficient. Table of 8 were served at once so none of us had to wait to long.
I had the spicy beef benedict with hollandaise. It was good though it is second to the one served at TBSP. eggs were poached perfectly.
The angry bird (fried chicken with waffle and kimchi twist) was good too but the waffle was really really soggy under a generous pool of avocado and juicy fried chicken breasts. Waffle was the let down but fried chicken was the star.
Portions are ok. Iced coffee we had was ok too - standard iced coffee with store bought ice cream.
Others around the table liked their dang dang beef, beef burger, maple French toast with waffles. Perhaps I will try that next time.

Typika is a cool brunch spot located in Claremont which has an industrial warehouse vibe. It serves amazing coffee and delicious food. The menu is different from your typical brunch menu, so I guess its’s not so typical (get it? Hahaha). Lame jokes aside, it is a great place to go to that does not disappoint. They are generally quite busy on the weekend so you may need to queue up and wait in a line for a spot. Once you sit down, service is attentive and the food comes out reasonably quickly. I have been here a few times and there are a few stand out dishes. One of these dishes is the famous French toast served with indulgent salted caramel sauce, banana and bacon goodness. It’s diabetes on a plate but done so well that it’s worth the clogged arteries. If you are after something savoury, they also do an amazing spiced beef benedict. The pulled beef is tender, the poached egg is cooked well with a golden gooey centre and the hollandaise sauce is lovely and rich. I’ve also had their special pork ribs here, which is one of the best ribs I have tasted. Portion sizes are decent, prices are reasonable. Will come back for more!

i like the atmosphere here and always busy. i tried the porridge which was excellent but at $15 a bit expensive. the coffee is also good. have returned several times as always feel satisfied though my wallet feels a little lighter.

Food was reasonable price and the potions was huge. Lovely atmosphere for a catch up or anything. We will definitely come back again and would highly recommended it.
Bit pricey, but the food is just divine! We had the Dang Dang Beef and Caramelised Lamb. Just beautiful food. Service is a bit hit and miss.

I used to be a frequent customer of typika when studying at UWA, but I hadn't been there in a while so I decided to pop down on a hot Wednesday morning :) typika can be a bit hit and miss but into the positives! Our waitress was lovely and extremely attentive, not surprising considering the venue wasn't that busy. The food came quickly and we both really enjoyed our food. The French toast has gotten smaller (eating this dish almost everytime I came here since the time I first went) and the bacon was too burnt/Crispy. However the bread was just so tasty and the salted caramel sauce coupled with the fresh banana just made the dish for me. It was absolutely delicious! My boyfriend loved the pulled pork quesadillas and his onions rings. Coffee is always awesome here, not surprising since they are coffee roasters... But the baristas really know what they're doing here.
Unfortunately the only gripe I have that stops this review from being a 4.5 is the iced tea float. It was advertised as displaying Apple tea flavours with orange gelato. While I loved the idea, it does need more work as right now it's still just tasting like an overly sweet tea you could make at home. But that doesn't matter because I gave the waitress feedback about it and she was extremely gracious :)
Typika has also gotten more expensive menu price wise. Although there are some great new additions to the menu :) will be back for coffee!!
Perfect venue: really spacious and hip looking. Would be a perfect place for breakfast with a big group. Loved the roaster in the glass case. As far as coffee and service goes, I expected better. Coffee had no aesthetic appeal what so ever although it did taste good, and service was pretty standard. Friend ordered a ham and cheese croissant and never got it. This place has so much potential but there is room to improve.
Great look style shop, beautiful taste for aroma coffee (I had a cup of long mac) but not attentive staffs. Will come back for a great cuppa anyway
Went here for a brunch catch up. Was surprised how quickly we were seated given the crowd. I was impressed by the menu which had some flair and was different to your usual brekky menu. All in all, a great place to catch up!

Food is really good! Waiters are really friendly, except for the one with purple/red hair. She's really cold and really condescending to the other staff. So it makes it really awkward for the customers. But besides that food is great and we will continue to come back.
Decided to try somewhere new and by the looks of the pictures the food looked worthy. Grabbed the french toast with the bacon, banana, and salted caramel sauce, very outside the box compared to the usual bacon and eggs on toast. The combination of flavours was exceptional. Fresh juice was rather tasty, only let down was the drink size, too small for the $$
I have been drooling over Typika's instagram for too long. Finally made it here. 50:50 experience. Service was military (over efficient and unfriendly). Except when coffee was delivered. "Long mac?" asks barista. Diner at other end of table announces himself. Barista dumps coffee on edge of tables, spills it, leaves it there. Raised eyebrows all round. Anyhoo. On to the food. As extensive and appealing at the menu was, the 3 of us ordered the pancakes. And none of us regretted that decision. Simply divine. I would definitely come back, with zero expectations for nice service, knowing that there are plenty of amazing sounding (yet expensive - $19 for rice pudding!?!?) dishes and reasonable coffee. Decided to have brunch here for the first time and I'm happy to say Typika Artisan Roasters filled me to a point beyond satisfaction. It was quite a drive to Claremont since I lived in Harrisdale, but the food was definitely worth it! It was only me and a friend but we ordered more than enough for two! We went around 10:00A.M and it was packed, so we were lucky we didn't have to wait too long for a table. We ordered:
-Yoghurt and vanilla bean pannacotta
-Golden French toast
-Coconut poached chicken salad
-Strawberry fields juice
-Their weekly juice (contained pineapple and mint)
The portion of the salad was generous, and the pannacotta was made and plated to perfection! The French toast was also really filling, but just a little too sweet for my taste. Most items were reasonably priced (just the juices were a little expensive for their size). Besides that, everything else was great and we didn't have to wait too long for the food to arrive! I can't wait to try everything else on their menu!
I met a friend here for lunch recently & I quite liked the place. It was quite busy, but we didn't have to wait too long. The menu had all-day breakfast options (a big plus, in my book), and a fair choice for g/f.
Poached eggs & bacon on g/f toast were done just about perfectly & the coffee was good too. Parking is a bit of a pain, but I'd come again
I have only been here once, and it was for a drink and coffee! Milkshakes were amazing, and banana bread was to die for. Caramel cronut was nice too, quite sweet as expected! I need to come back and try something off the breakfast menu, i have heard so many positive things! Good location, and good service.
This place is fantastic!!! The staff were lovely and attentive. There is heaps of seating and just has a great atmosphere! The food came out surprisingly fast seeing as though it was soo busy and not only was it beautifully presented it was delish. Def recommend.

Love the spacious cafe and nice fit out including the coffee roaster. The generous space meant that we've never had to wait and could dine without pressure. Coffee is not mind blowing but creative and interesting meals make up for it. Service is always efficient and friendly.
My partner and I have come here numerous times and it is ALWAYS good. The staff run a tight ship, food comes out surprisingly fast especially considering how busy they always are. The food is excellent, service is great and always consistent.
We'll continue to come back time and again.

The only downfall is the parking limit outside, but the kitchen and service staff make things happen quickly so there's less risk of getting parking fines!
Absolutely amazing food, some of the tasty & freshest I've had for a while!! Out of the 4 meals we had, 3 were 10/10 whereas the burger was pretty basic & a bit sloppy.
Unfortunately the waitstaff were very slow to clear the table & really lacked any enthusiasm.
Overall very happy with the food but service could do with some flair :)
This cafe for us is extremely close by, so we go here often when we are in a rush. I always order the bircher muesli, and it is the best I have eaten in Perth. The oats are soaked well, they were so soft and the apple juice they were soaked in was fresh and tangy. The apple and plums were soft and easy to swallow. The candied walnuts are sweet and provide a texture to the soft muesli. Overall an amazing meal and fast service.
Good place to have brunch. The atmosphere is nice, food is yummy but just a bit salty. Would recommend Angry Bird if looking for something with strong taste. The price is reasonable. Friendly staffs and good service.

Typika is one of my favorite brunch place in WA. It offers plenty of great meals, friendly staffs, and reasonable (but not cheap) price. I guess that's why this place is always crowded despite having quite a large sitting area.
Typika foods are great, coffees are delicious and juices are fresh! What I admire the most about Typika is its consistency in serving high standard dishes. In the many many visits here, they have never dissappointed me with issue such as overcook or the bread is too hard or etc. Their eggs benedict is as good as the first time I tried it. This is the kind of reliability you need so that I won't be afraid to recommend this place to my tourist friend.
In addition, the room and setting itself create unique oldies ambiance with its high table, spacious sitting area, wooden props and all. Staffs are very friendly, but can be forgetful one or two times - pardon them though - they do have a lot of tables to attend to. That's why I would recommend you to come earlier. Not only it reduces your waiting time, the food will come faster too!
went there a few weeks ago for brekky. I chose to have the zucchini fritters with smoked salmon, poached egg and avocado cream. although it was busy, coffees and food came out super quick. food and coffee presentation was great and it tasted amazing. loved the avocado cream on my dish it had a spice to it, i think it was wasabi. so good, would definitely recommend this place! cant wait to try more of their food and coffee :)

I came back for a second try and had food plus coffee. The coffee was much the same - a bit weak and lacking flavour. However the poached chicken Asian salad was excellent!! Beautiful and balanced with a good hit of chilli and crunch. Will try again for the food.

Brunch with my girlfriends!
Zucchini fritters were yum. Spiced beef with poached eggs $21.50 also yum. The added half avocado at $4 was a bit on the unripe side but still a good balance for the dish.
For a busy time of day ie Saturday 10am, seating isn't possible until all guests are present. We were seated at a cosy couch, only to be moved because those places are usually reserved for people with young kids? This was a bit annoying because we had already sat down for 15 minutes, about to order, had to pick up all our things and walk to the other side of the restaurant.
When the order came out, the wrong coffee was initially dropped off. Then promptly taken away. Yes in busy times, mistakes are made, but when lots of mistakes are made I just dunno...
At least the coffee was delish.
I think another thing to note is the price. Perth prices just seem to be so high and I feel that in the end some days it's just as enjoyable to spend the $ on a home cooked feed.
Loss of points for price and mistakes but overall, tasty food and perhaps good atmosphere for friends to share a meal.

Enjoyed the food but thick plates cooled the food before it got to you. Same with the coffee, first cup tepid and second cup presented as being 'extra hot' only slightly warmer than tepid, very disappointing (try heating the cups!! That doesn't burn the coffee or milk but prevents temperature transferring to cold ceramics) Great variety on menu to choose from.
Worth the wait to dine at Typika! This place is always busy but worth it for the food and coffee. Staff are a little bit rude and have been on more than one occasion but I don't let it spoil my breakfast dates here. My favourite dish is the Huevos Ranchos - served in a metal dish straight from the oven it's an explosion of rich, Spanish flavours as well as beautifully cooked egg and crunchy toast. The serving sizes are good end although the cafe is s litre pricy I'll be back. Coffee is perfect.
We have tried almost everything in the menu. All of them was incredible. Love their ribs but they don't have it anymore and change it to beef cheek. And the wagyu burger was delicious! Our fave place for brunch
Love the ambience and the waitress we very friendly. I loved the Wagyu beef burger the texture was yum and the chips was very fresh. I really enjoyed my meal there and had a good time.
Drove all the way here just for the mini almond croissant with custard, and it's totally worth it. Warning! It is really a MINI croissant 😞 I need more of those!!

Good friendly atmosphere. Fast courteous service. Professional staff. Tasty food and beverages. While the chairs are a bit uncomfortable, the tables are ridiculously small. There were three of us and there was no space left on the table. But otherwise, a pleasant experience.
Yum! Had the beef rib. It was so tender and falling off the bone. Great salad too. Dressing comes on the side in a little glass jar so I can decide how much I want to put on.
Large space with good menu. It was busy but they had lots of staff - including in the kitchen so food didn't take long to arrive.

Service was lovely, we got the babycchino right away (as a parent you know this is great!!), the waiter brought us a dog water bowl, and we broke a glass but he was extremely nice and helped us clean right away.
Food was wonderful too, my husband reckons "best huevos rancheros he's ever had". My hot bird (Korean fried chicken on savoury waffles) were great too, a bit too saucy and wish I had gone half with something else as the portion was quite big.
Lots of different food options, some Asian fusion ones that I'd love to try next time.
Really reliable cafe. Easily accessible from Stirling Highway, with parking outside the front. However, depending on the day that you visit, you might need to do a few rounds to find one!
Their coffee is fantastic. As the menu is well thought of, there are lots of options to choose from! They are also extremely accommodating for food allergies. Lastly, their presentation of food is great, but the taste is even better!
