Very tasty Sri Lankan food, Best service too :)
My husband and I visited last night, 30 minutes before closing. There were a few other customers in the establishment as well.
We ordered a roast chicken kottu, hot butter cuttlefish, a rice and curry pack, chocolate biscuit pudding and a slice of ribbon cake - all for takeaway. The owner and the lady who took our order were such a delight, and chatted away to us as we waited.
It wasn’t long before the food came out, and the owner brought with him a slice of chocolate cake for us on the house - a very unexpected but appreciated gesture.
At home, we dug into the packs and were overwhelmed by the authenticity of the food. We had just returned from a trip to Sri Lanka and were really missing the food - this place brought back fond memories of home. The hot butter cuttlefish and kottu in particular were absolutely fantastic. The ribbon cake soft and moist without being cloyingly sweet, and the biscuit pudding was firm with a good ratio of chocolate to biscuit. We’re saving the chocolate cake for today :)
Without a doubt, we will be back!

The Place is a small Cafe on Centre road and you can miss it if you blink but people who eat here know it is a hidden gem. The first thing that went through my mind was how clean the place was when i entered the place. I always appreciate when an eatery places emphasis on cleanliness. The menu is quite big for a small place, ordered Chicken Koththu, Chicken & Mushroom Fried Rice as well as Chicken Devilled. Everything was pretty good. The Owner/Manager was very open as well, answered any questions that we had about the more traditional items on the menu. Even bought out his phone to show us the picture of one of the items we did not know about. The only reason it was not a 5 rating was because of the Delay in providing the food but if the food is Good and you are not starving then you can allow that as well.

Cafe Ceylon is by far the best Sri Lankan restaurant I have visited in all my years. As soon as you walk in, there is a feeling of warmth and the spices in the air really remind you of Sri Lanka; incredibly nostalgic. The pictures on the wall are nothing short of beautiful.
I've been to this place many times and each and every time, I get home feeling full and happy to my hearts content. In fact, I made this account for the sole purpose of stating the brilliance of this amazing restaurant, having no choice but to express my happiness.
Every item I've tried in that shop looks as good as it tastes; utterly delicious. The boss is a lovely man as well as his wife who both look after the counter; always willing to have a chat. The staff work quickly with extreme dedication which is shown at times when they are actually running to get your food to you as quickly as they can, whether there is a lot of people or not. When the place is crowded, the food takes a while to arrive but it's still perfect as ever. You can tell the food is prepared at that moment in time specially when Kothu is being made as the sounds can be heard.
All-in-all, a lovely place to have small dinner parties or to bring your family to. A perfect place to visit for lunch or dinner in Melbourne.

Authentic Sri Lankan food, feel like you are dining in Colombo! Chicken Lamprais, kottu and egg fried rice are super tasty with large portions. Owner is the chef and is a very talented chef. Polite service too.
The food and service here was just amazing! Really authentic Sri Lankan food and the staff were so kind, generous and accommodating. Felt like we were at home! If you want delicious food at a good price don’t miss this place! Thank you guys
