Delicious breakfasts with amazing coffee and wonderful team... and now dinner on Friday and Saturday nights! Hello cocktails and delectable (not to mention gorgeous) food. Highly recommend the Coco Loco and Drewspresso Martini! The spinach and ricotta agnolotti was devine... and the chocolate tart... woah! Such a cool, laid back, local atmosphere. Awesome.
Friendly, excellent service and the food is AMAZING! Four of us with very different tastes and all very satisfies and delighted. Plenty of vegetarian options too! Love the generous portion sizes (just right) and the menu is varied and interesting.
Beautiful little place. Very welcoming. Coffee is good, chai latte is delicious. Have been there few times now with different people each time and satisfied every time. Food is always made with love and the ingredients are fresh both in taste and colour.

Coffee is fantastic quite different in taste to the usual I drink and boy did it do its number on being brilliant.. The food is greatly portioned for two even though it's served for one.... Absolute value for money, the theme is quite suited for everyone especially the ladder hanging over the batista and till section draped in plastic flowers with a retro theme to it... Service is beyond compared with each staff being friendly and always smiling... Located in a quaint little corner and you'll see why uncle drew is your cafe to go to...

The definition of a great local. This is a little gem in Clifton Hill. The staff are so friendly, the environment is very inviting and cosy. Great variety of cabinet food, deli and ala carte menu. The sandwiches are soooo good and they have some tasty bread, pastries and pies from Tivoli. Extra love for them giving away free grounds and accepting KeepCups.
A really great atmosphere, really welcoming clientelle and staff. Food and hot chocolate were amazing. Well worth a visit.

I wish this was my local it’s so great. Warn and inviting, generous food portions and mimosas as well! We also checked out their Friday evening selection and that was just as good. I know this sounds like a paid review, it’s really not - I just love this place!
Love to come here on the weekend for their poached eggs and greens. Served with a delicious garlicky hummus and toasted pita. I also opted to add the sujuk on the side.

I liked this place. Obviously an old milk bar converted into a cosy cafe with good front and back areas. It’s certainly a thriving business. It’s in the back back streets of Clifton Hill but has an impressively constant stream of customers.
There’s a low key casual decor that sort of works here. Low key but effective service throughout as well too. Not many smiles here but plenty of efficiency. I had the pork and beans dish which I adored. A great dish for another cool grey Melbourne day. The pork and fennel sausages in this dish were spectacularly good. As good as you could make, I reckon. If they were made on site someone here is a sausage maker of rare genius. They’re superb. The beans were lovely as well with nice heat evident from the jalapeño. Nice bits of ciabatta to spread the beans on as well. This was a really lovely and perfectly sized dish. The world’s most beautiful woman was disappointed in her dish though. It was a toastie with pulled pork. I had a taste and liked it but she wasn’t keen on the chilli in the pulled pork. Her point was that the chilli part wasn’t noted on the menu and she wasn’t keen on the unexpected heat. A real shame.
Super coffee to finish. We both really enjoyed our respective coffees, a long black and a flat white. They kindly gave one coffee free because of the unnoted chilli in the toastie.

Once you can find it, corner block, it looks deceivingly small from the outside, full of vintage one-off furniture.
Back room is prefered.
Twice visited, Latte was ordinary on the first visit, their pour over is much better and classier.

Stunning! Great food coffee and friendly service. Fish burger with so many good things going on - watercress, herby mayo, mint leaves, tzaziki. Plus it’s own little raddiccio and Walnut salad. Too good! This cafe is the best kept secret in the area.
Nestled in the quiet neighbourhood of Clifton Hill, Uncle Drew makes every attempt to create innovative and unique breakfast offerings. While some items worked in their favour, others unfortunately fell short on expectations.
While much refinement is still necessary on some of these more creative dishes, it must be said that the arguably more traditional items like the coffee and the omelet were well-executed and tasty.
Consistently eat here- staff are awesome and make an effort to converse with customers.
Have had other regulars tell me that " this is the community centre for Clifton Hill," and you can feel that when you're there.
Decorated in an understated but tasteful way, can tell the staff really care about the quality of their food and coffee.
Food is unique, well presented and delicious, no matter what you choose off the menu.
They're very deserving of their popularity in the local community, and should definetely be rated higher here.
This is a great little local. The ambience is spot on, awesome tunes playing in the background, great decor and very friendly staff. The coffee is top notch, loving the cold brew. And the food is very creative and full of flavor. This cafe is a very welcome addition to Clifton hill.

It’s heartwarming to see locals embrace their local eateries, and The Uncle Drew is still as popular as ever. Since its opening, a renovation has seen the touching up of the cosy back room, and new menu items have been brought in.
Such a cute little cafe amongst the suburbia of Clifton Hill. As I drive a lot, there was heaps amount on off street car parking which is very important to me. The food itself is so delicious with pretty decent sized meals that and the service was very quick. Also great amount of choices on the menu. I definitely would go back in a heart beat.

Been there many many times and can say coffee is consistently good and usually pretty quick.
Food quality and presentation is great but possibly a tad too pricey for the locale. A fun and creative menu.
Love the staff there and they're super friendly so don't be put off by the straight faces.
The stairs at the front door and squeezy interior means it's not a pram friendly option. My biggest bugbear is the assortment of awfully uncomfortable chairs. Takeaway coffee - yes. Sit-in dining - not so much.
Tucked away behind Schots in Clifton Hill we found Uncle Drew cafe! Maybe we were a bit early (11.30) on a Monday morning 😳 but staff weren't very happy looking!! We did start to see smiles emerge towards the end of our visit so maybe it took a while to warm up. The cafe is decorated with a very eclectic array of furniture, think old school chairs/tables very colorful. The floors and walls had been given the striped back grunge look. We chose the Pumpkin brioche special , cauliflower fritter and the yuzu & mirin cured salmon. All very tasty, one negative was lack of sharp knife for the flatbread that was under the cauliflower fritter, cutting was tricky; the other was being able to see the toilet in all its glory as you walk into the back eating area 🚽 (check door always closed over). Coffee was very good and hot chocolate was proclaimed as best hot choccie yet 😋
Great cosy café perfect for your morning coffee. We ordered the bagel with a decadently rich truffled hollandaise accompanied by istra bacon, poached eggs, mushrooms and halloumi. So scrumptious. The mega hot chocolate is by definition mega! We were unable to finish it but this bad boy will satisfy any chocolate cravings. Food here is sensational. So many tempting options on the menu, so little space in our stomachs.
Coffee is consistently very good at this new(ish) Clfton Hill Cafe. Food is delicous and beautifully presented. Only concen here is the staff a couple of times when I have come in for my weekday morning coffee I feel like Im interupting their consverstaion or a hassle, I don't expect staff to be overly up beat or excited but a smile wouldn't hurt sometimes.
Being the ‘new kid on the block’ isn’t easy, but Uncle Drew has slipped into this role as naturally as any successful cafe newcomer could. Tucked away down a side street in Clifton Hill, surrounded by apartment buildings and houses, the locals are lucky to have such great food, drinks and hospitality emerging from this unassuming cafe. This is the first cafe venture for owner, John, but he is no stranger to the hospitality industry, after having worked in the restaurant industry for some time. His new place is a lot smaller and cosier than what he was used to back then, but that just adds to the comfortable nature that Uncle Drew encourages.
Recently moved to Clifton Hill and while I prefer to seek out truly great cafes rather than default to what's local to me, Uncle Drew ticks both of these boxes. Great coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice, friendly staff and beautifully presented, creative and well executed dishes. Yesterday had the yuzu and mirin cured salmon with wasabi kewpie, sweet pickle salad and the crunchiest, most moreish oregano hash brown I've ever had.
Yes, not sure what this rating system is about - should be 5 across the board!! Uncle Drew is not my local cafe but it's always a pleasure when I'm in the vicinity to eat, drink, relax and enjoy good company or the newspapers! Whether it is the normal menu, or the frequently updated specials, food cooked by Karel is always of a consistently high standard. John the barista takes similar care with the different types of coffee he prepares. Service is good, the community vibe is great! Coeliacs can be catered for as the chef understands the issues with cross contamination. Great work everyone at Uncle Drew Cafe!
Great new cafe! We sat outside in the sun. Coffee was smooth. The service was really friendly and quick. I asked to have half granola half Bircher because I wanted to try both and the chef was lovely and accommodated my request! The granola was the winner of the two. The Bircher wasn't as sweet as I would have expected but great texture. The granola was delicious and had lots of nuts through it which made it very satisfying! Both of my friends loved their dishes too. We'll definitely be returning!

I love this place. I've been a local for years and the cafe has had four owners in that time. Uncle Drew is definitely its best incarnation.
Clearly they care about their coffee and they care about their food. Even simple things like the toasted chicken schnitzel are made with quality ingredients. My particular favourite is the The Uncle Drew's Toastie with shaved ham, pulled pork, manchego cheese and creme fraiche. A taste sensation.
The staff are friendly too. Families, hipsters and non-hipsters are all made to feel welcome. Just listen to how many customers' names the guys remember.
I'm lucky to have Uncle Drew so close, but it's worth driving to if you live further away.
When Uncle Drew first arrived, just thought I'd try the Hill's newest café, but the coffee and food are so good, I've kept coming back for more. They consistently make excellent coffee with outstanding service, even during busy weekends.
After trying a variety of things on the menu since opening, the kitchen staff are producing very appealing and flavoursome food; my favourites include Uncle Drew's toastie, the omelette, and both the lunch specials are delicious; a 12 hour smoked beef brisket or fresh pappardelle with slow cooked osso bucco.
If you're after something sweet try the brioche French toast, it's beautiful and tastes just as good, or a variety of ridiculously moorish cookies, a rich chocolate brownie, and a drunken tiramisu; so good!
This place is fairly new. I've now been there 3 times. It's not cheap but it has good coffee, interesting menu and well-made food.
I've enjoyed the salmon and the pulled pork with kipflers.
Service is now up to snuff (although the first time I went when they were still figuring things out it was a bit scratchy!) Much better than the cafe that was in this premises before.

Really enjoyed the Bircher Mueseli with overtones of tumeric. Well made cafe latte and good service. Seats 10 inside with quite a few tables outside. I did notice power points with USB near the tables inside which is a nice touch. Good selection of pastries at the counter too.

Love the 'rekindled' corner shop concept. Food is great, as is the coffee. Loved the prawns on house made brioche. A great ambiance both inside and out.
2nd visit to Uncle Drew for brekkie with friends and it did not disappoint. I asked for softly scrambled eggs (rather than chopped up omlette) and it was perfect. Accompanied by tasty bacon and delicious mushrooms topped with melted haloumi. My breakfast companions also agreed their offerings were delicious too.

We love this bloody joint!!! It is a pure joy having this as our local cafe. Whether its a coffee on a weekday, brunch on a weekend or popping by for Tivoli Rd bread or to pickup some milk - its always great quality food and coffee and great service. No questions as to why its so popular with the locals.
