Review Ma Me Thai - Clifton Hill

Without a doubt the best Thai food in Melbourne. Wonderful flavours, beautifully presented. Alysa always makes us feel welcome when we visit and each meal is better then the last one. I would recommend Ma-Me Thai to everyone.

Went in for a quick dinner after work. I got the duck fried rice and Tom yum prawn soup. Everything was absolutely delicious! Also loved the ambience of the place!

Best Thai restaurant near me in Fitzroy north. Pad Thai, Thai fried rice and green curry are always fresh, fast takeaway or dine in and delicious 😋

Best Thai restaurant in the area. Quality food. Authentic dishes. Worth every cent. I suggest you make a booking during peak times to get a table. The locals love their food. Service is quick as well and they're very attentive. It's close to parking/tram stop as well. Worth the tram ride from CBD.

Cosy atmosphere, incredibly tasty food with fresh ingredients, large portions and excellent, attentive service. Easily one of the best Thai restaurants in Melbourne! Every option on the menu is 10/10! The Pad Kee Mao and Massaman Curry are definitely stand-outs. Would recommend to anyone and everyone.

I have been visited this place a couple of week before(on my holiday trip) This place is so amazing, my kids she very fussy eater but food here is awesome. She ate a lot. I and my husband enjoyed every dish. We order fried rice, chilli basil, fried chick and mores. Food was quick served, taste was amazing. Every dish quite big portion, filling full of our tummy. Waitress is friendly. I really recommend to visit this place. Worth to do!!!

Seeing the reviews I thought of giving it a go. I paid $20 for a pad Thai delivery (about $3 or $4 above the average) for the most mediocre pad Thai ever. I ate a 1/4 and chucked the rest in the bin. It lacked in flavour but was extremely oily and tasted like old oil. Wouldn’t recommend

Nam Tok was a little too salty and beef slightly overcooked. Tom yum was sweet, lacking the spiciness and sourness. Best dish is the pork shank. Comes with a sweet spicy chilli sauce. A must try. Reason I gave a 3.5 instead of 3.0. 😊

I am going to sound pretentious, but I admit that if I haven't heard of a Thai restaurant or read a food critic's review of it, I'm prone to discount it as a mediocre (or perhaps just serviceable) local. That's what I did with Ma-Me Thai. I live in the area so decided to give it a go but I walked in with low expectations.

Actually, the food was really quite enjoyable, I couldn't really fault it. The vegetable spring rolls were packed with veg, super crunchy and had a subtle smoky flavour (on account of the fungus?). The pad thai had all the markings of a good one, full of flavour and texture and with lots of chicken as well as tofu. It perhaps just needed a touch more of the sour flavour that you get from the tamarind (didn't appear to be lemon on the plate). It was a very large serve too, so I had to ask them to pack the rest to take away. The same happened with my husband's penang chicken curry, was in a rich, deeply-pigmented and coconutty sauce - you could taste the galangal and the other spices and occasionally you'd get a sliver of kaffir lime leaf, too. It was the kind of curry that if all the meat and vegetables were gone, you'd be inclined to just pour the sauce down your gullet. Our only criticism was that it was really a touch too salty, but we'd definitely still get it again.

I have eaten in at Ma-Me Thai before and the food was good enough so I thought on a rainy Friday night it was a good idea to ordered it delivered. I could not have been more wrong. I waited 2 hours for my order to arrive in which time I spent 15 minutes trying to call the restaurant to follow up on my order with no answer. When my order finally came it was completely cold and the roti bread was literally inedible. If you want to get food delivered order from somewhere else. Complete waste of money.

Ohhh booo hooo nuggets. You waited more than one minute to be served. Toughen up whingers, I eat here once a week and the food is always good.

First time at this restaurant and have to say I loved every aspect. The place itself is beautiful, friendly service and some of the best Thai food I've had. Will definitely be back

Perhaps the best Thai restaurant in Melbourne, every dish I've tried here has been "the best Thai I've ever had!". They use fresh herbs and spices and the flavours are amazing.

The friendly staff know what you're talking about when you say gluten free and they can do most dishes that way for you.

Bring your mates and experience bliss.

Delicious fresh Thai food. We dined here this evening, a party of 8 including 1 vegetarian. The menu was varied and every dish we ordered was delicious and flavoursome with quality ingredients. Decor is simple but attractive. Great venue for a family or group of friends. Also BYO wine, great.

Fabulous & Fresh.. The food is fresh, flavoursome and tasty. Great service. BYO wine and the prices are good considering the generous serving sizes. Highly recommended!

Genuine review. Large serves for Thai restaurant. Impressed by hearing knife chopping away after ordering. Indicates fresh preparation. Very clean dining room. Service comes with that warm Thai hospitality. Thank you

Best Thai in area. Heaps of vegies in the stir frys and really interesting original dishes that you don't normally see at your typical local thai. I have never dined in, but i get takeaway here on a regular basis & am impressed by the generous servings, varied ingredients, amazing flavors and prompt delivery.

Fantastic service. The staff are exceptionally friendly. Prompt arrival of food and serving sizes were generous. Highly recommended!

Not again. No. Whoever wrote that this is the best thai restaurant is right- but the rejoinder being that there are no others. The service was absolutely appalling. We basically had to dance a jig to be served- and parts of the order were missing- forgotten- drinks- oops sorry we forgot (but we were still charged)- duck curry- maybe three tiny pieces of very tough duck. Not a place we'll return.

Nice but too pricey. I had the pad thai and yes I enjoyed it but it was just a bit over priced - and it was one of the cheapest menu items. There are a few other thai places around that are more reasonably priced for just as nice food but in saying that the service was really great and its local to us so I would go back for those reasons alone but otherwise for a I would look further. If they dropped their prices a few dollars per meal it would a winner.

Great local thai. We go here regularly for takeaway thai and all the dishes we have tried are pretty good! it is usually fairly quiet restaurant which is surprising. home delivery is reliable too, has never taken more than half an hour.

Service could be better. Takeaway order was really small and they got one dish wrong. Nothing special price range should be $$$ not $$.

Everything I've tried here has been amazing. Staff are lovely & food is by far the best Thai I've found.

Highly recommended Thai. Panang curry is my favourite and these guys make it with pumpkin rather than potato and it tastes delicious! The rest of the menu I've tried is similarly rich in flavour.

Not only is the food amazing but when our takeaway order was mucked up, they called me & brought over the missing dish along with some extra spring rolls. Fantastic service combined with tasty authentic Thai food makes this a must visit restaurant whether you're a local or not. Highly recommended!

Checked it out for the first time tonight - awesome! Big portions, great flavors and nice service & surrounds. Looking forward to working our way though their extensive menu. Fitzroy North now has a top notch Thai resto!
