We had an issue with our meals and told the manager, who promptly got us all new meals (which were delicious!!) and was incredibly kind throughout the process! We will definitely be coming back here, absolutely fantastic service and food!
This has been our family Indian restaurant for many years. Never disappoints. Love the friendly service and the very pleasant decor and always has linen napkins which gives a nicer dining experience. Recently took some friends from Eltham there and they loved it. Glad to see with the change of ownership that standards have not dropped. This is a BYO wine restaurant but not listed as such. đź‘Ťđź‘Ť
My family often frequents here for Indian food for birthdays and what not, and I always put up my hand to attend. Last time we came here again we were delighted. The service is lovely, and everything we get served is so flavoursome. Only thing is is the serving sizes are quite small. All in all a great place with a good atmosphere

The fish masala was too small for $16 but the flavours in the curries were beautiful, they truely take care in the flavour balance and ensure the dishes are packed with everything you want in a mild coconut based dish and a spicy goat masala!

This restaurant rarely disappoints. The ingredients are all of high quality. The food authentic and the menu extensive and inventive. Atmosphere is pleasant and the service fantastic. The only drawback we've experienced is related to the general "heat" of the food. Medium can be mild, while hot in one curry was so hot to be inedible. But a minor complaint really. We travel a long way to eat here. Great spot.
The food here is consistently fantastic and the service is always friendly. My partner and I go here ALL THE TIME (it's actually a bit embarrassing) but thankfully the food is well priced and good value for money.
Wonderful service and great food. Very friendly. Momos are excellent and we ordered the vindaloo extra hot and it was fantastic. Very busy place though so does pay to get in early.
Best Indian I have ever had, I have been inspired to try and recreate my favourite dish but no can do. The food is spectacular and the freshness and quality is something else.
Staff are so attentive and friendly, nothing is ever an issue and the genuine, warm smiles that greet you when you walk through the door just makes for an even better experience.

We wanted some good Indian food and we didn't realized that it was right in front of us all this time! The place is welcoming, service is excellent and the food is really really good! Don't forget to try the dumplings :)

Another great meal here. Tried their dumplings which were delicious but sadly I strayed from the Butter chicken which is my usual fav. The mango lassi was the only let down
Where do I start, amazing good, great friendly service and always very fast. I love this restaurant, it's the place I take any friends that are visiting outside of Melbourne and it's my first suggestion for any get togethers. Must try the MoMo's, onion bhaji, lamb cutlets, 'chicken salad', cashmere naan and of course butter chicken.
I feel like Marigold has a lot more potential than it showed me when I dined there. It's clearly well loved. There was a proudly displayed "best restaurant" from the "curry club of melbourne" award and I feel this group must have a better knowledge of curry than I do if they've taken it upon themselves to give out awards. A future tip for myself: don't share Indian meals with people who order things as mild.
An extra bonus 0.5 rating for the staff member who chased down our car with the change that we absentmindedly walked off from before collecting.

Great Indian. The Nepalese style MoMo were excellent with an rich dipping sauce. The Dahl was good, not mushy or overlooked, and went perfectly with the raita, chicken curry and naan. Nice looking restaurant but a little busy and loud - likely because the food is so good
Maybe not authentic Indian food, but certainly authentic Indian takeaway. its a Friday night after a few beers, plenty of roti bread and bad breath on Saturday morning type of place. its great. not expensive.
Marigold are the best of Clifton Hill, super nice vibes, extremely nice staff, lovely Nepalese food and really good prices too. We always end up getting take away curries or fish tandoori or the momo Nepali dishes. It's awesome for eating in at too.
Yummy Indian food! Really lovely space and staff. It looks fancy and the prices are really reasonable. Have had a few larger group dinners here and they're very accommodating.
We love Indian - it's our favourite cuisine! We foind Marigold while searching for Indian in the north. A 4.0 was what we were looking for and byo wine was a bonus (2010 vintage Brand's Laira Coonawarra cabernet sauvignon).
As we parked, we could see that the place was rammed! And luckily enough there was one free table for two. We ordered the lamb kebab and another signature chicken dish to start - both sensational. Soon after came our kasmiri naan, chicken tika masala, lamb korma and beef madras. All were brilliant - with the lamb taking out the award for best dish of the night. Creamy with a hint of spice - winning!!!!
The staff were great and really helped with selection. Possibly our favourite Indian in the north! Thanks Marigold!!!
Have been eating in and taking out from Marigold for a number of years. This week we tried another local indian restaurant, it was so poor, it reminded us the gem we have in Marigold. The food is always good, consistent, delicious. Flavours vary between dishes, well spiced, good ingredients. Our favourites are the lamb rogan josh, chicken tikka masala, and mixed vegetable curry. Accompaniments also good. We keep coming back. Yum

Best Indian Restaurant for Tandoori items in Melbourne. Trust me there's no other restaurant thats better than this in Melbourne for Tandoori Chicken and other entrées.

Best Indian Around!. So lucky that the best Indian I've had in Melbourne is around the corner from my house! The service is friendly and efficient. The food is wonderful. Nice atmosphere to eat-in and super quick if you want take-away. The chicken tikka masala is my fav.
Just ate here for the fifth time and once again am so impressed. Great service, seated without fuss and through out the meal provided with attentive but not overbearing service. The lamb Saag my favourite, cannot dine here and not order it. If I were to recommend to a friend I would say: great food, great service and exceptionally well priced with none of the hipster irony that seems so prevalent right now.
Better than the majority of other australian-indian food in the area; Naan was good; Dahl was fantastic; Vindaloo was a bit oily.

Consistently good. We love Marigold. Eat there or take-away at least in 1 every 2 weeks. Great veg options too. Mushroom Dahl, Veg Koftas, Goat Curry and Tandoori chicken our favorites with garlic naan. Service is friendly and timely.
Good little Indian restaurant. The food is very good. I found the service a bit uneven as evidenced by one waiter paying more attention to a mobile phone call than to customers but beyond that I couldn't fault it. I would certainly return.
Excellent Curry. We've tried Marigold's a couple of times now & found it to be tasty with excellent quality meat both times. Will definitely be a regular now
It was a pleasant evening at marigolds but not really up to standard. We waited 40 minutes for our entree of nepalese dumplings which were nice but not worth the wait and the roti was really dry. The two curries we shared however were really nice! Not too heavy which is hard to find at an Indian place nowadays.
Simply amazing. Went for a recent birthday celebration, we were a party of ten and choose the $35 set menu, the mo mo's are a must try! Will be back

Charming service, very attentive. The Mo Mo are delicious, as is the Goat Curry. Their signature chicken main - Marigold Chicken - might be good if they'd laid off the salt. It's inedibly salty.

Sensational. Have always been a fan of Inidian food and found this little gem while living in Fitzroy North. Now live in Blackburn, and make the trek down the Eastern to Marigold about once a month. Lamb Korma & Mushroom Naan are to die for
Brilliant Indian. Sensational value, and top quality food. The waiters Sumin and Arvi are great guys too. Highly recommend the Mo Mo entree, and the Marigold Chicken (hot). Fantastic local restaurant - despite frequenting it almost weekly, I never get sick of it. Keep it up lads.

Try the MoMo dumplings - very good. Great value and friendly service. They must have fixed the music too. We had a very pleasant quick meal and will be back.
Very good value Indian and Nepalese food. Very nice restaurant to eat-in, but weird choice of music (mostly 80s pop-Michael Jackson, George Michael). Also kitchen is a bit slow. We were one of two tables when we ordered and they took 30 minutes. Based on my observations they were focussing on take-away, assuming the people eating in had plenty of time. We didn't! Probably should have told them when ordered.
Lovely food. Good serves. Staff are lovely. The Indian vanilla icecream and cheese balls in syrup were the best I've tasted in decades. Have been coming here since it first opened and it's been consistent in it quality and staff.
Marigold is absolutely my favourite Indian restaurant in Clifton Hill.
The service is good and the place is clearly popular. It's worth considering a booking if you are wanting to eat at peak times.
I highly recommend the samosa as well as the cauliflower pakora.
The curries have a zing however they will make then to your desired level of spice.

The decor is dated and ambience is missing but if you want authentic Indian food, full of flavor, quality ingredients and friendly staff…this place is the go to place. It’s the closest to a British curry you can get in Australia….and that’s a compliment for sure!
