Review Anatolian Grill - Coburg North

Cavin Daniel
Overall didn’t had a good experience. I visited Anatolian Grill for the first time reading google reviews and the rating was good. Maybe I made wrong choice with the order. I ordered Lamb mince gozleme and a hot chocolate. The gozleme was super dry, the crust as well as the filling making it difficult to gulp down. The filling was lacking flavour as well to a great extent. I did see that the gozleme was pre prepared and they just heated it. Would not recommend their gozleme at all. Maybe their other food is good but not sure if I’ll give another visit.

Great kebabs here. Tried the Adana and Lamb kebab. Nice bread, flavourful meat, tasty sauces, and fresh veggies. Will definitely be coming back in the near future. This is the first kebab shop in the area where I've seen them use this style of bread for their rolls (very fluffy and delicious).

A great experience! Before the food even arrived the customer service and warmth from the staff was great, particularly towards our young daughter. Then the food arrived and OMG it was just the lunch we were after. The kebab had the soft Turkish bread, quality ingredients and great flavours in what was a large serving. The chicken skewer meal was generous and had amazing flavours that we thoroughly enjoyed. This will be our go to for a kebab hit!

Incredible food! The bread is so fresh and soft and dip selection is great. Had 20 people over for lunch and everyone absolutely loved the food. The service was also amazing. All I had to do was come in an hour earlier to place my order and then everything was ready when I went to pick up. So lucky to have this as the local.

Even though I'm no longer a local I still come back for a feed. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The food is always fresh and enticing. My daughter generally gravitates to a HSP (Halal Snack Pack), my wife is a fan of the lamb whether in a Kebab or Meal while I enjoy the Chicken Skewers meal. You always leave this place well fed.

Was waiting for someone to service me as i stood right in front of their face. no one even bothered to say ‘we’ll be with you in a second’. just got completely ignored for a solid 10 minutes. i understand they were busy but all it takes is good customer service. not a pretty look when everyone before me was served almost instantly. definitely never coming back

It was my first time coming here and by far one of the best experiences I've ever had. The food was phenomenal, the service was amazing! Definitely would recommend to anyone to come for one of the best adana experiences in Melbourne

I try to visit this place at least once a month. Extremely friendly staff, very generous proportions and great tasting food. I am going to make a huge statement and say, best kebabs and lahmacun I have had so far, and I have eaten my fair share.

In my 20+ years of enjoying Turkish cuisine at restaurants and outlets around Melbourne this has turned into my go-to place. The reason why is simple; the lamb sitdown meal here is as close to spot on as I think you will ever have anywhere in Australia. Amazing turkish bread (best I've ever had!), delicious dips, ultra fresh salad & extremely low fat lamb (without those annoying fatty bits).. What's not to like? A large meal will cost you $20 but the average person would struggle to finish that. I have no qualms in awarding Anatolian Grill my fav Turkish spot by some distance

Want the best Turkish food around, you can't go past this place, everything on the menu is spot on!!

Took the misses and little one down Tuesday night, walked in as they were packing up and thought we might be out of luck.. Asking the lady if they were still serving she said yes to our surprise, the large chicken HSP with cheese and an extra can of coke $24 fed all three of us with abit left over for the dog and it was amazing!! Good work guys, fantastic food and service
Christina Kotsiris
Delicious the dips were so fresh and a good portion of meat/salad ratio on the plate - definitely be back

$20 HSP is a great meal for 3 people, the serving size is awesome and the quality is very good.

The ultimate kebab and grill slayers the best Turkish food anyone can ask for with a gold touch of the Aydogan family secret recipes.

After moving from Dubai I had the best chicken shawarmas (kebabs) here today ! They are just so yummy and tasty, keep up the good work guys.

Great service. Great food! Only turn off is seeing staff smoking out the front...
Bianca Poletti
I have to say the food was absolutely delicious and the service I got was divine. I highly rate.
Monique Toohey
Good & service excellent. Very busy already but we didn't have to wait long for the food. Much faster than any other Turkish restaurant I've been to. Generous servings in the small meals, they weren't that small. Gozleme made on the spot and it was lovely.
Marcin Kurek
After having a kebab here i couldnt eat another kebab from anywhere but here! Nothing but quality
Ross Andreou
Their priority is fresh quality food and great service - definitely be back very soon

The cleanest, leanest, most delicious meats and salads, my husband and I have ever had! We enjoy Anatolian Grill every Friday with our 2 little girls, as it's so healthy! Plus the family are always so welcoming!

Yum kebabs and because of Covid ee ordered takeaway !

The hidden gem in the coburg north village shopping centre! They were really busy on a friday night

Stumbled upon this turkish kitchen after doing grocery at Coles and we decided to do a takeaway. We ordered the HSP, the cheese and spinach pide, mixed meat pack

We really enjoyed the HSP and cheese and spinach pide. The garlic sauce was amazing and the meat was tender ans nicely flavoured. Really enjoyed it. The spinach pide was so good and it was so soft and chewy.

Would definitely return to try the other dishes on the menu.

I wish I could give more stars!
The food is always hot, delicious and made just the way you ask. The people there are absolutely lovely. I am a regular customer, and they know that when I ask for “extra” sauce, I mean “smother it!” (And they do! Just the way I love!)
There’s always a nice vibe in store. You can watch some drag racing on the television above the counter, while enjoying some music. The only downside I can think of, is the wait time during the dinner rush.. however, this is only because they are such a busy little place. The patronage each night speaks volumes about the quality (and quantity!) of the food. Two thumbs up from our family!
Charmaine Wymer
We are regular customers and really do enjoy the food. Please do not rely on Uber Eats for delivering it though. Whatever processes Uber Eats and Anatolian Grill use needs a review. I was watching the delivery status and was waiting out front (18mth old bub just asleep) and was notified our food was delivered. Very confused and rang the restaurant and they said our order was delivered to another customer in Pascoe Vale who had ordered at the same time we did and there was nothing they could do. Finally got onto Uber Eats and they said we would get a full refund within a week or two...YIPEE #sarcasm. Hangry me and no food does not maketh for household sanity! Yeah first world problems but mumma is hungry :-(

If you are a fan of HSP, look no further, quality, value for money, flavour, it’s all on point here. The Turkish bread used on their kebabs is also beautiful. I had a long period of visiting twice a week and was never disappointed!

I seriously can’t fault this establishment great customer service extremely clean and amazingly delicious Turkish food right in the heart of Coburg
Ahmed Samy Sallam
The looks of the place is good and the food is good as well. It’s clean. I rated it at 2 as I find it totally unprofessional and frankly irritating of a restaurant to charge you 20 cents per 10 dollars to cover for the visa. It really below standard and makes you think what else they might be compromising while you aren’t looking to save these cents. Plastic payment definitely brings you more walking customers so I just don’t understand when an establishment charge me for using a tool that they put in to bring more customers!
Foodie McFoodie
Great kebab place in the middle of a very busy shopping centre. The quality is very good. It’s fresh, it’s tasty and the place is very very clean. The staff are friendly and the place has a great atmosphere.
Foodie123467
I have tried the lamb meal, it was very fresh and served efficiently. The portions are very generous and well priced. I would recommend for a large lunch or dinner as it is very filling.
MSASnowflake
Excellent customer service as soon as I walked in the door from the gentleman serving at the order section.
Delicious Kebab!!! One of the best around! Just enormous and so filling. I could only eat half.
Some suggestions...
Offer a smaller kebab option. A $5 kebab that is half the size of the standard. This would be perfect!
Jen Mangan
I cannot believe how delicious the vegetarian set meal is. The melt in your mouth, slightly caramelised stuffed roast capsicum with flavoured rice, the out of this world delicious potato salad, with that chilli bite, the crisp, beautifully cooked falafal- the fresh, nutritious dips and salad. It's possibly the best meal i've ever had in my life, sorry mum (although it's probably on a par with her corn-beef hash)
Zach Sanday
Wallah Habibis quality meats will have you dancing on ya feet’s. Best Turkish food in the area. Can’t wait to get that Turkish meat in and around my mouth again!
Rohin Aggarwal
The food here is always good but I’m giving them 2 stars for 1 reason: they aren’t very careful with how they prepare their meals so there’s a lot of unknown cross contamination.
Firstly, they use the same thongs to pick up the bread as they do to get the salad.
Secondly, bread rolls are prepared right next to the salad and the sauces.
Thirdly, the people who prepare the food throw things around so stuff mixes. Some of the sauces aren’t gluten free so when they throw the spoons around, the sauces flick into other items.
It’s a bit disappointing because they know what is gluten free and what isn’t. It’s just that they aren’t careful in their prep at all.

Our go to for Turkish kebabs and hsp. Cannot fault , always fresh and very decent portions . Service has been good and theres also seating , but I take my hsp to the couch.

Excellent tasty food and great friendly service. Always very busy inside but you can see why, i had a mixed kebab very clean and delicious. Will be back 😁
Claire Nomarhas
Pretty disappointed. First time trying this place. Ordered a falafel wrap and chicken meal. Was told chicken has run out so only lamb available. Wouldn't have been an issue however we were given little dry burnt scraps of the last bits of lamb. The Turkish bread on the falafel wrap was not edible. Dry and stale. Asked for tabouli and chilli in it and it was forgotten. Falafel a themselves were tasteless and dry also. Nothing exciting about this meal.

Not bad. The vegetarian platter with stuffed capsicum isn't great. I don't eat meat but my partner enjoys the mixed kebab. The chips need to be improved big time! Very oily and just not nice.
Lin B
Great to find a nice turkish kebab shop thats modern and clean and has good customer service and the food is delicious. Fresh salads and quality ingredients used in everything.
Deasy Sartika
Food was great, really quick & friendly staff. Really like HSP with all 3 sauces combined. I love the falafel wrap too. We definitely coming back

A very unpretentious Turkish grill that has a big takeaway business, but also a decent number of indoor tables and chairs for eating in. It's right in the middle of a relatively new shopping centre in North Coburg, so it doesn't have much ambience, but what it does have is excellent food. The mixed grill here is a ripper, and the kebabs are delicious. They also have an excellent range of Turkish pizza and pide. Everything comes across as fresh and nicely prepared. If you're in the area and you want to good quality, value-for-money Turkish takeaway, this is a good place to try.

Actually impressed by the quality of this food, simple yet full of flavour and perfected in quality and quantity. Good atmosphere and located in the center of coburg, definitely recommended

Wonder kebabs & my favorite the shish meal. Delicious tender meats & homemade dips & breads. This place is a gem. My favorite takeaway at the moment or you can eat in too.

Can't go past the mixed lamb & chicken HSP, it's our guilty pleasure ! The mix of chilli & garlic sauce is mouth watering 👌🏼 Not to mention the chips that are always crunchy and sprinkled with rosemary, delish!
Simon Kawanishi
I love this place. HSP with both meats and three sauces is a win every time. $15 for small and $20 for a large and a can of coke. I'm yet to find a place who does it better. I want some now.

I've been a few times now and have been happy with their meals. I've only tried the meat and tabouli which have tasted quiet fresh. Only suggestion i can make is maybe to drop the price a little for tabouli.. way too expensive. Good work guys :)
Mr MM Smith
wanted the mix shish kebab but turns out only the lamb was ready, still, great kebab, tender lamb, cooked fresh and piping hot. Tip, remember to clean the tables.
Eidlog
Great Kebabs, amazing HSPs, friendly service. Can be a long wait on a weekend, but it's worth it.
Definitely a favorite in the area, and consistently good.
Becky Flynn
Really good kebabs! Not only huge but value for money at only $10. The staff are really friendly and you get a real feeling of family and comfort the second you step foot in the place, they are always smiling too which is great! I would highly reccomend here for a cheap eat!
Kiss And Eat Up
The kebabs here can only be described as average at best particularly the chicken & Adana kebabs despite the positive reviews . The bread to meat ratio being out of whack with the huge Turkish bread roll overwhelming the small meat filling and overall lack of flavour. At $10 a pop, it was poor value for money given the the other amazing kebabs up for offer in Coburg.

Great food nice peeps behind the counter food is great the dips are so good and the kebabs. Are super fresh and hot I plan to Visy the restaurant soon

I would have to say -best Turkish going around right now
The mixed meal is spot on .. Meats always taste fresh and the bread and dips are spot on

The service we received was fine except when i went home and had to call the store back. We ordered a Peynirli. The menu says that it is ricotta, feta and mozzarella, There is not one sentence stating that there is parsley in it. When i called and told the store about it they said that it is "something that everyone knows" in a rude manner. If it was stated on the website that there was parsley in it there would be no problem. But as it wasn't stated i am quite annoyed. We spent $10 on this and didn't get what we ordered. I will not be returning to this store.

Three words: Halal Snack Pack. Finally, Coburg has a HSP to rival the best. $15 for the small plus can of Coke. Tasty lamb and chicken on a bed of cheese and chips, drizzled with chilli and garlic sauce - YUM!

Fantastic, fresh quality food. My husband and I eat there at least once a week. Compared to other kebab shops they are a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. The Turkish bread is always hot and fresh, the dips are delicious and the lamb (I always get the shish skewers) is cooked beautifully tender, not over spiced and not at all fatty. The staff are friendly and helpful and are accommodating if I've ever made changes to the meals. I used to go to Tibas Lebanese to get my lamb and dip fix and, although cheaper, I definitely prefer the quality at Anatolian.

I really enjoy Anatolian Grill's kebabs. They're super tasty and very generous in size, so much so my partner and I can easily share one between us. Staff always pleasant. Recommend!

I love this place, friendly staff (I hope they stay friendly & dona't change like kebab station). The food quality is good & the portion is quite good. It's a bit expensive comparing to other places; like the small meal or small dip are really expensive. Also I wish they had the kebabs in small & large size. Specifically for lunch we need to grab sth small & cheaper.
Alis
Love this place. I would be here everyday if I didn't life far. Their mixed grill plate with dips and salad is perfect. Very well portioned on the plate and you'll be sure to not leave hungry!! Amazing guys thank you keep it up

Got the mixed shish plate for $21, tiny tiny portion, what a joke! Nice interior design. Go to Half Moon Cafe for better food and value. Coffee not great. Will not be returning

Extremely friendly staff! Excellent service and amazing tasting Turkish food with a modern twist.
I've had a mix kebab which is $10 dollars and I would have to say it was one of the best I've ever had .. Fresh bread and crisp salads along with non greasy lean meat with no fat whatsoever 👍🏼 definitely a gem in the heart of coburg north

Love this little place. Real tasty food throughout the menu and friendly staff. A great addition in an area crying out for more local restaturants.

21/3/17 - I've visited a few times over the past 6 months and I've been really happy with the food and service. We usually order the small mixed meals (meat, salad, 2 dips and bread) for $15 and it's really nice. My only criticism would be that the first time we are there, the meat came in lovely big chunks, more like Greek style, but since it's been the usual minuscule bits. Still nice but not as great as the first time.

14/10/15 - Would have loved to try this new place tonight but unfortunately I just didn't get served. They have only just opened and it's got so much potential, but the service was appalling! I waited, and waited, and waited. After a few minutes I was finally addressed by the cashier and as I was reading my order to her she just walked off. I thought, ok she needs to get someone's just cooked order out to them, no problem I'm happy to wait for a moment, but she never returned. Very disappointing experience to say the least.
IloveMelbourne
I had the chicken meal plate which was very filling. The chicken was nice and hot and not too fatty. The dips are amazing. I had the beetroot and spinach ones. YUM.
The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming. Nice addition to Coburg area.

I absolutely love breakfasts here. Traditional turkish brekky - gozleme, sucuk and egg and all the condiments like fetta cheese, olives, tomatoes and cucumbers. The bread is always fresh and the coffee is great. The price is what you would expect to pay. I also love how clean this place is.

*update January 2016 - Anatolian Grill consistently serves up great food in large portions at a reasonable price. The premises are clean and comfortable. The lamb kebab can't be beaten but I also recommend the lentil soup. What a great little business.

Great quality Turkish food. Spotlessly clean. Loads of choice from soup, gozleme, pides, kebabs (shaved and skewers), dips etc and you can buy a whole Turkish bread for $4. The mixed kebab was really nice - the meat is quite lean and full of flavour and the bread was just right - not too doughy and crispy on the outside. The gozleme (made to order) had a light pastry and the accompanying yoghurt and cucumber sauce/dip is the perfect match. We sat in and the seats are comfortable and the presentation of the meals is very nice. Look forward to trying more from this shop in the new complex next to Coles (although parking is a horror - no where near enough spots to cope with demand - why didn't Coles do underground parking?).

Phenomenal, traditional and fresh Turkish cuisine, tender meats. alongside great and speedy service! New regular spot!! Can't wait to come back

Amazing traditional Turkish breakfeast I could only get this at home before now we have a local place to go friendly staff will be coming back again and again mercimek soup is unbelievable must try for Brekky

This is an amazing eatery! A perfect take on Turkish food with a modern twist. The meat dishes are nothing short of quality, packed with flavour and very lean. The pizza is wonderful, thin and crispy which pleases every time.
The Staff are extremely friendly and accommodating and make it a pleasure to visit.
A local favourite, be sure to check out this hidden gem.
