Review Pho Noodle House - Coburg North

You’ll need to find parking a few streets away, but the walk is totally worth it! The food is as fresh as the decor, and the taste is delicious. Not a cheap eat, but certainly value for money. Staff are very helpful while they attend to a busy online business.

Unassuming, small ish restaurant that gives you great food that's value for money. They have daily deal that applies to different menu item and it's really good value (it's hard to beat $10 laksa on a Saturday). I ordered salt pepper chicken ribs and honestly I can do with just half of the rice they gave me (the chicken ribs are of the appropriate amount). That's also probably something for the restaurant to look into as another table seemed to have same issue, judging from the leftover rice. If you're an average eater, probably ask for less rice.

I have been going to Pho Noodle House for many years, today I visited again to request my usual soup with rice noodles with prawn dumplings and found the dumplings very floury (and old) and the noodles seemed old and cut into many pieces instead of normal sized noodles. Seemingly, like someone's leftovers. I also noted that there was insufficient soup. I called to complain and the guy spoke NO ENGLISH and from what I could ascertain he was the new management. So I am very disappointed with Pho Noodle House, can someone recommend another Vietnamese place, as I will not go back again ....?

I live about 5 minutes away and ordered here for the first time. The food was very delicious and full of flavour. The rice pepper rolls were very fresh and I love their dip. Good food and reasonably priced They had so many Uber eats orders lined up when I walked in. Its clearly a popular place

Been here before and enjoyed their soups and entrees. Tofu Bahn mi today was disappointing, no coriander and strangely had cooked cabbage and shitake mushroom through it.. a bit soggy and not a great deal of flavour. My partner's chicken one was a bit better.

YUM! Best wanton noodle soup I have ever had ..so often these soups are bland but this one was full of flavour, generous serve of delicious wantons and fresh veggies. I would highly recommend it and the spring rolls were great too

It may look like your average neighborhood Pho joint, but Pho Noodle House is anything but different. I used to go here back in 2018, and it was not good enough to write a thorough review. However, I randomly saw the new advertisement and reviews on Facebook that attracted me to stop by. I amazed that the restaurant has a new owner (2021) and the vibe they brought to us like we are in an actual Vietnamese restaurant in Vietnam. (warm and cheerful). The friendly staff immediately greeted us, and the restaurant was filling up quickly, but we managed to grab a table ( around 6 pm) We started with Phở Đặc Biệt or Special Pho Noodle ( rare beef, brisket and beef balls). A tremendous clear broth that very complexes with all the herbs, spices and nutrition from the beef-bone. "In Vietnamese cuisine, the clearer broth is, the better." The herbs' fragrance ends well, the texture balance of flavour lightness Vietnamese cuisine in a nutshell. I got myself an Egg Noodle Soup Wonton & BBQ Pork or Mì Hoành Thánh Xá Xíu. Once I take a broth sip, I can taste all the flavour from the tender BBQ Pork with the juicy homemade wonton that just truly flavorful and well-rounded. We then ordered Fresh Prawn Rice Paper rolls or Gỏi Cuốn Tôm. "The dipping sauce is the main role in Gỏi Cuốn." The dipping sauce is creamy with a little bit of sweet and salty taste that just a perfect complement. The main thing is that the chef only makes it if there is an order instead of pre-making. Therefore, I can taste the freshness of the prawn, the herb and the vermicelli rice noodle. We didn't stop there, and we ordered Marinated Grilled Chicken ( Gà Nướng Vị) by itself and Salt & Pepper Chicken Spare Ribs (Gà Rang Muối) The Salt & Pepper Chicken Spare Ribs was deliciously juicy and crispy chicken tender and only came with a small bone on each piece. Unique flavours in the stir-fried onion and chilli topping that serve with the perfect dipping sauce. Lastly but not least, the Marinated Grilled Chicken is the well-end. The tender, juiciness and the flavorful grilled boneless chicken that just simply delightful. There are more daily meal deals, and you guys should check it out. And to avoid crowded in the weekend, try to visit before 6pm, 3pm is beautiful 😚 Goodluck

Bland westernized Vietnamese food. It’s fine - the food looks pretty, but lacks actual flavour. The homemade dim sims were ok. If you don’t know any better you might enjoy it. Better off going to a more authentic place.

We went on a Monday night so no trouble getting a seat in this small seating space. There are only three or four tables inside. There was no complementary tea as you might expect in most places and couldnt spot any water around beside what is sold in the fridge.

We ordered the prawn and pork rice paper rolls. They were still chilled when served but the taste and texture were fine. For mains we both had the pork and prawn pho. It came with two prawns three bits of pork some broccoli some bok choy and rice noodles. It wasnt served with fresh chilli lemon bean shoots or vietnamese mint that you might get in other restaurants. They do have soy sauce sriracha and chilli oil on each table though to put some zing in your food. The broth itself was good with a depth of flavour. It wasnt a huge bowl but was satisfying.

Things of note were the zomato menu is out of date price wise. Their dumpling offerings seemed expensive so we didnt order any. Expect lots of uber eats guys doing pick ups. A sign said pay cash for 5% discount compared to a 1.2% fee for using a card. Overall it was ok but certainly not generous.

Great curry laksa, the pho is quality as well. The broth has been cooked for a long time, I can tell. Thoroughly enjoyed the food here.
Not ideal if you want to drink alcohol, but I don't drink so it doesn't matter to me.

Finally went in after driving past it so many times.
Lovely air conditioned room on a warm day: Good aromas floating out of the kitchen. Just got to try the beef pho this time. Nice big bowl of steaming broth with plenty of noodles and beef. Broth was well seasoned and great flavour. Looks like I don’t have to drive all the way to Prestonia for my pho fix.
The last I got take away though, it wasn’t so good.
Looks like consistency might be an issue

Can only vouch for their pho which I have ordered time and time again - easily one of the best I’ve had in Melbourne! trusted local and their shrimp crisps are also yum

I live locally and need a good Vietnamese place after living in Sunshine. The Pho does not have tripe or tendon available but they are generous with their beef/brisket unlike a lot of places I’ve tried in Preston. Broth is very good and not overly salty. The Bun is also delicious here. Tea flask is available if you ask!

Tasteless
Never again
I think they are cashing in on the name Pho isn't India
What more can I say but the word count on this site wants me to keep drib

A lovely little local Vietnamese restaurant fast growing in popularity. Seating space is limited as it is a small place, but takeaway and delivery services are available as alternatives.
Staff are friendly despite the very busy conditions. I tried the rice paper rolls this visit as I was not hungry for a full meal. They were perfect, fresh and tasty with an even amount of each filling. Keen to try more dishes soon.

The only thing missing is the stainless steel thermos with hot tea inside ... 9/10
$11.00 Pho Beef soup ... near perfect broth, just right aniseed aroma, not too pungent overbearing like some other Pho house, a bit of sweetness, balanced, a bit of salt, pepper, lemon juice and chilies and it was perfect for me.

In the middle of nowhere, far from the food Mecca of Coburg, unpretentious set up, value for money and near "home-made" as it can be, a perfect tribute to the traveling foodie Mr. Anthony Bourdain.

Pleasant service, polite, friendly and family run ... thank you. Excellent food!! Great service. Highly recommend. One of our staple takeaway places. Good quality Vietnamese. You can’t go wrong! Everything we’ve had is delicious.
We order from them 3+ times a week. I LOVE the food here. They're always really fast, and the food is delivered hot. I love the Pho, and the grilled chicken and rice. Also the prawn spring rolls and prawn dumplings are excellent. They also deliver Viet coffee. I'm addicted. They are always lovely and accommodate our requests. The only reason they get 4 stars and not 5 is that they always forget the sauce for our chicken and I have to remind them in the comments, and one time they forgot the coffee and I rang about 15 times and nobody answered. Having said that the delivery driver did return after 10 minutes with the coffee. Still, one of my favourite places. I'm so glad I can get good Pho delivered to my door.

Pho Noodle house is a welcome addition in a neighbourhood dominated by kebab shops. It’s hard to find good Asian food in Coburg and these guys are clearly one of the best in the area.

I’ve been a regular since they opened and can recommend the prawn dumplings, wonton soup and spring rolls in particular.. but most dishes I’ve ordered were of a high standard. Everything is fresh and well prepared.

There is a lot of feedback on the service - this is an extremely busy place during peak hours, don’t come here for the conversation. I have found the staff to be very friendly and yes, a little quirky too.

Welcome to the neighbourhood Tam!

Very Happy with the food and service. Ordered on ubereats. Only took 25mins on a Saturday night at peak time (including delivery time). Well put together. Loved the prawn cigars.

An arrogant owner, non apologetic with a cunning attitude towards whoever walks into his restaurant.
You won’t miss him from the moment you enter the place and until you’ finish. Horrible service quality and one of my worst experiences. Pretty average food!!!

Despite all negative feedback I read, I must say the food is really good. I ordered through Ubereats, I had mixed spring rolls, fried woton, homemade fried dimsims and pho noodle soup. Everything was tasty, I would order again. Highly recommended
Sharon
The most terrible service I’ve ever had. Offered no apology, no solution to the fact I got no delivery from my order. No thanks, I’ll go elsewhere
Xanthe
The food was okay pretty bland but the main reason I'm giving such a low rating is that everything was microwaved. We could see them do it just behind the counter. Not pleasant.
Ben
We weren't acknowledged at all during the 10 or so minutes we spent in the restaurant and decided to leave after we were rudely told that the Pho had 'all sold out'.
No hello, no goodbye, no apology. No service. No food.
How silly of me to think that a place called Pho Noodle House would actually sell Pho or Noodles?
