Review Cornerstone Pizzeria - Coburg

Dined here Thursday evening. Whilst the restaurant was lovely. The parking was very bad had to drive around 15 minutes to find a spot. The food was lovely cooked to perfection. Quality and fresh ingredients. Drinks were also made nicely. The staff were helpful. Overall it was a great night out with friends

Main selling point: the atmosphere. Great chill vibes with a homey cozy feeling at night. The dinner was quite nice, not the best Italian ever ever but still high quality dishes. Another selling point: Friendly and unique staff who actually enjoy their jobs there and like each other. Upon request we had a birthday candle added to our dessert.
Mariam
Had the bruschetta as our entree which was SO good. For my main had the calamari with chips and salad. Definitely the best calamari I’ve had. The flavours were unreal🤩.Will definitely visit again.

Been there twice now - both times with large parties and the service was amazing even though they were extremely busy. The waiting staff did a wonderful job keeping up with the orders and on a timely manner. The food was extremely tasty and quite large servings. There wasn't one bad comment from any of out guests. We will definitely make this one of our favourite haunts.

We had come here for a friends birthday, and had to wait around 15 mins even though he made a booking. They apologised with free garlic pizzas for the table, which was amazing of them. The food was delicious, it was brought out at the same time, and was quick. The creme brûlée was good but average. There’s a warm atmosphere here, especially with the live music. Also, parking is hard.

The perfect place to return after a difficult year. Soul food like a warm welcome home and staff that feel like family. Definitely a favourite for me and my friends. Highly recommend!

We held a function of 40 people at Cornerstone Pizzeria last weekend, and could not fault a single thing. We booked our function with Jamila & Hus who were phenomenal and had everything set up for us perfectly, our group arrived early which was no issues for them. Our Waiter was Tony, he was extremely attentive, proactive & friendly; he truly made all of our guests experience extremely enjoyable. The food was amazing and all came out at the same time! I would highly recommend visiting Cornerstone and cannot wait to visit again soon!

Perfect local spot. Plenty of parking around and take bookings. Food: delicious, tasty, well presented, big portions. All food comes out quick and hot, definitely no complaints. The calamari is a 10/10. The chocolate brownie on the dessert menu is a 100/10. So delicious. Venue: a big space with dimmed lighting. Giving a great ambiance and chilled vibe. Big outdoor heated area which is great. Service: fantastic, very attentive and always at hand. This restaurant comes highly recommended.

Had a fantastic time at a family members twin boys' christening on Sunday!! The food was absolutely delicious (calamari to die for) and the service was outstanding!!! The staff were friendly, helpful, prompt and had excellent product knowledge! I will highly recommend this place to friends. Perfect for functions just like that!!

My partner and I absolutely love this place! A Coburg hidden gem with awesome food and great service. It's also very spacious, so whether you're a table of 2 or a larger group you're guaranteed a wonderful dining experience. Highly recommend this place.

Came here last night for a 21st birthday. With all the great reviews online I thought It would be a special dinner here. Unfortunately I am very disappointed in the service that was provided too us. Firstly our food and drinks took a long time and all the food came out separately. The guy servicing us had very very poor service and base on that I am giving it a 2. The worst part was I had a donut cake made and he had ripped that apart and shoved all the donuts onto a plate. It’s not very hard to just add sparkles and presented it to the table. In the end I went into their kitchen and done it myself!! It’s a shame I won’t be coming back. The only reason for the 2 is the for the atmosphere and my pizza.

As soon as you step through the door you can smell the aroma of delicious oven made pizzas. We had a lovely night & thought the food was great & the staff were friendly. Thank-you.

Lovely evening with family. Friendly, alert, attentive staff served our choice of two pizza's, which we shared. Cornerstone has their own distinctive twist when making a known pizza. Spaghetti and meat balls served to my son, was generous - meatballs were surprisingly large. Yes, I will go back soon, to try other menu dishes. Advice: book if going in the evening, to avoid disappointment.

Amazing thin crust base, the cheese was to die for and my friend said pizza was sooo good it couldn't have been vegetarian. Best pizza in Melbourne!

I came here with my cousin for the first time and was pleasantly surprised at the excellent standard of service and delicious pizzas. I am thrilled to have found a local Pizzeria/Italian eatery with such a high standard of cuisine and lovely ambience . I thoroughly recommend this place!

I have many years experience in hospitality, owning a restaurant and managing many .. therefore I take particular notice of staff and operations, the food and presentation.. This Restaurant ROCKS!! Loved the atmosphere and friendly welcoming waiters .. The meals were all fabulous..
Connie Gouskos
There are so many bad Gluten Free pizza and focaccia options out there - this was not the case at Cornerstone. GF garlic focaccia was an absolute winner!
Nicola Liebler
We celebrated our daughters birthday here. Food was amazing. Best GF gnocchi that I have ever tasted and the pizza was truly freshly made. Thank you so much for this experience.
Iolanda Sirena Staniscia
Excellent Italian cuisine. Wait staff are friendly and the food is great. Great family restaurant.
Kathryn Strano
We had booked for the evening, but lobbed up mid afternoon, requested a table for four, which was smoothly accommodated in a friendly, welcoming manner. The service, food, and venue were wonderful, especially at the time we were there, which coincided with a large function being catered for, we will be back!
Lorena Di Giandomenico
Disgusting to want my credit card details just in case we cancel so you can charge me $20 per person !! Dont you make enough money by having two seatings ?? When you called me to say you had two seatings and that i needed to change the time booked I didnt mind but you never told me there would be a fee if we cancelled ! You lost my business ! Ciao ciao

Celebrated my birthday with family and the meals were fantastic. Good service friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended and will return soon with some friends for dinner.

Always nice, fairly priced, staff are on the ball, that helps, many places staff are ordinary, however not here, very good.
Kerri-Ann Bell
Friendly service and delicious food! Fresh and flavoursome. Certainly one worth becoming a regular.
Kristine Klavins
We had the set menu, I had calamari then the steak with mash and fried onion rings, then panna cotta. It was actually delish. Thank you for a great night. I might need to walk home.

Thank you to Mark and all the staff at Cornerstone who made my nephew's Baptism such a wonderful event. The food and service was excellent! All of our guests were impressed. Thanks again!

Parpadelle Ragu is the best pasta I have ever had. My partner had the pump and mushroom risotto. That was also yummy, but I can’t go past the Ragu. Generous portions also. Pizza Calabrese was yummy.. thank you cornerstone for a great meal. Very happy.

We had pleasure to visit Cornerstone Pizzeria in Coburg and were splurged with heaps number of delicious food. Gamberi pizza was my most fave and the seafood linguine is top notch. Guys, add this place to your list, I am pretty sure you gonna thank me later. Dont leave the premises without tasting their house made desserts such as tiramisu and chocolate semifredo. Your dinner date will be so perfect with sweet ending.

Wow what an amazing family owned restaurant. Cornerstone Pizzeria offers good quality food and service.I visited with a group of friends recently and we were so impressed with the food. <br/><br/>The 2 pizza's were cooked so well, the base was nice and thin with a good dough. The linguine marinara was cooked perfectly and the pasta is made in house, how delish is that! The ravioli and salad also very impressive, we finished off with the semifreddo for dessert which was amazing!<br/><br/>The quality of ingredients was excellent and I highly recommend this restaurant. <br/><br/>Thank you to the owner for our invite, we had such a good time.
Jepps
Staff were friendly, food was great. Had the calamari as entree and it was cooked to perfection. Also had the prosciutto pizza and gnocchi with 4 cheese. All cooked perfectly and flavours were great! Would recommend
Hello. Imnikki
Who would expect to find such a cosy and charming Italian restaurant in such a quiet street? Far away from the hustle and bustle of Coburg is Cornerstone Pizzeria. Perfect for any occasions, Cornerstone serves up delicious food that will leave you incredibly satisfied after.<br/><br/>The wood-fired pizza are a must order here. Thin and light base, with crisped edges, one slice is definitely not enough. The aromatic truffle oil, the generous smattering of cheeses and of course slices after slices of prosciutto, the Pizza Bianca (available on the special) was most impressive.<br/><br/>The Spaghetti Alle Vongole showcased amazing execution. The pasta that was cooked al dente, the punchy and bold flavours tantalised our tastebuds to no end, and the abundance of fresh clams made this a delight to eat. <br/><br/>To help balanced out our meal, we opted for the Roquette and Pear Salad with calamari. I can’t fault any components of this salad, and the addition of calamari was a great decision on our part. The calamari was fried to perfection, and the smell was intoxicating.<br/><br/>We ended our meal on a high with the Pistachio and Apple Calzone. Ugly delicious best describes this. Crusty on the outside, and soft and chewy inside, cut the calzone open to be greeted by oozy and creamy pistachio filling, and soft chunks of caramelised apple. Sweet, earthy and nutty, the pistachio filling is to die for.<br/><br/>Everyone is sure to find something to their liking on the extensive menu, and do keep an eye out for the specials.

Located in the heart of Coburg and is popular amongst the locals. They are a popular spot for birthday celebrations and gatherings as they have quite a spacious area both inside and outside. <br/>Well known for their traditional italian cuisine and wood fired pizzas. The menu offers a good selection of choices including pizzas, pastas, steak, antipastos and more. We decided to try the pizza, pasta and a salad to share. <br/>Be sure to keep a lookout for their specials as we ordered the pizza bianca from the specials, aglio olio pasta and roquette and pear salad. The pizza was light and I really enjoyed the pizza base as it was chewy and the toppings went really well together. Loved how they included truffle oil on the pizza. The pasta was cooked to al dente perfection and it was good. Really enjoyed the roquette and pear salad as the dressing was good and the cheese brings out the flavour of the salad. We went with the option to add in calamari and it did not disappoint, there was a good amount of calamari for the salad.<br/>Always room for dessert, we decided on the calzone with pistachio and apple and I must say it was an absolute highlight. Definitely worth trying this dessert as it tasted amazing. The vanilla bean complemented the calzone really well and I absolutely loved the pistachio and apple filling. <br/>The staff were lovely and they were attentive despite having a very busy service. Definitely leave room for desserts as you do not want to miss the calzone.

Situated in sleepy suburban Coburg, Cornerstone Pizzeria was bustling with locals on a Sunday afternoon. Offering a vast Italian-inspired menu, there are plenty of choices that are both delicious and satisfying. Along with the more than generous portion sizes and bold, forward flavours, you are bound to be in for a decadent Sunday lunch and a siesta afterwards!

I've had Cornerstone Pizza a few times now and it normally blows me away! but unfortunately I feel there quality has dropped :( maybe a new chef? will maybe give it another go.

$16 for chillie prawns via uber eats, got four (4!) prawns delivered. Called to ask if it was right and got told they are "expensive prawns". See photo for what I got for $16. buyer beware.

We arrived on a busy Friday evening without booking and were kindly seated quickly. We had the calamari to start off with followed by a serving of spaghetti and meatballs and the cornerstone pizza to share. Finished with a couple of scoops of gelato. Overall we enjoyed the food. Service was friendly and wait time reasonable. There was live music on the night - Ambience was quite loud. Overall would recommend.
Nic
Used to be quite good but the last few of times I've ordered their pizza it's been way below par, lacking toppings, often not cooked properly & always cold.
John
Best papadella ragu in Melbourne! Authentic italian, have to book as it gets busy. Very friendly service and a greag atmosphere. Never leave disappointed
Strawberryannie
Nice little family restaurant in a residential area.<br/>Staff wee friendly and greeting. I ordered the eggplant chips, prisciutto pizza and spaghetti and meatballs. Eggplant chips were the best out of all. So crispy and not soggy, with a hint of parmesan cheese flavour.pizza was decent, crust was thin and ingredients were fresh. A very light pizza that I wish had little more flavouring. The meatballs of the spaghetti wasn't very flavoured well but that kind of balanced out the very salty sauce of the pasta. Overall good dining experience.
Kay
I was impressed by the quality of the food and the large serving sizes. Would definitely recommend the lamb ribs, mussels, vegan capricoisa pizza and lamb ragu parpadelle. Would skip the broccolini nexxt time as it was a small serve for the price. We shared the tiramisu for dessert which is a must order! Ambience was cosy, but expect it to be quite loud even on a Wednesday night. We were glad we booked as the place was packed!
Nikki
Found this local gem by accident on zomato and am sooo glad I did . Came for a 5pm dinner with my husband and two children and were made feel nothing but welcome ! Ambience was great, staff amazing, food and prices brilliant . We had Ragu papperdelle , four cheese gnocchi , pizza and kids calamari all fantastic and kids meal options are brilliant even have lamb cutlets !!! Would highly recommend and of coarse I’ll return and sprook about it to other locals . Would just say I recommend booking! Even better too is that it’s BYO so I could bring my favourite Pinot Noir !

Celebrating a birthday with family. Ordered 2 entrees, 2 pizzas, a rib eye steak, 2 pastas and a salad and wine. All the food came at the same time. Really..... ????? It was a 6:30 booking on a Monday night. Why the rush? Have you not heard of courses and timing? Not to mention the staff being so keen to remove plates that still had food on them.... We managed to fend the waiters off for long enough until we were finished. Then asked for the menu so we could order desert as we were celebrating. We waited and waited and waited. 3 of us on the table tried to flag the waiters but to no evail. They all of a sudden couldn't see us including what we assumed was management. We were ready to order 3 deserts for the table but gave up after way to long and then had to get up to pay the bill. We always tip at least 10% just for basic service but in this instance we could not justify a.tip. Pity as the food is very good. Unfortunately the.pacing of the food and the lack of service when it mattered left a bad taste. We won't be rushing back for a celebratory occasion. We are in the industry and would normally be embarrassed not to leave a tip but not this time.
Frank The Foodie
Awesome food every time. I am yet to go into this restaurant but have ordered there pizza and pasta off Uber and I must say delicious so I can only imagine how good the food would be if I dined in
Eat Like Theres No Tomorrow
This is by far one of my most favourite Italian restaurants! We ordered the clam pasta and the meatball pizza, we both looked at each other in amazement once we took the first bite!<br/><br/>Defo coming back again!!
Gab Xan
It was lovely until the end of the night where the manager made a not so nice comment about our lack of tip... what was a lovely experience was spoilt at the end by that comment :( such a shame.

One of my favourite gluten free bases in all of Melbourne although they are a little pricey. Go for the Eggplant pizza or Ortalana. Fat Sparrow house wine is very reasonably priced and tasty but they also allow BYO which is great when you have a special bottle you want to bring along with you. Staff generally very friendly.

Arrived with 1 and without a booking on a busy friday night. I was welcomed by friendly staff and was seated within 10 minutes.<br/><br/>The atmosphere was great, full of laughter and chatter. For entre I ordered the polenta chips which was a generous portion and not too filling.<br/><br/>I then ordered the cornerstone pizza, i was highly impressed with the quality. The pizza was cooked correctly and not overdone with the topping. A proper italian pizza!<br/><br/>Unfortunately i was too full to try dessert but im sure it would have been great. I was then farewelled by the amazing staff and then etsetted home.<br/><br/>Highly reccomend for an authentic Italian meal complemented by great staff and a welcoming atmosphere!
The Lionking Diner
great place, always good food, friendly staff and a great atmosphere, I love coming here with friends especially before a night out, definitely one of the better restaurants in the area!
Bites Of Melbourne
Have had take away twice so far and both times we have had nothing to complain about!! First time I thought the pasta was the star dish, second time round the pizza was the winner!! <br/>A hidden local gem that should be spoken about more!!

Little store in the back street of Coburg. Just what we need. Loved the place how is decked outa d food tasted lovely. It was made with love. If you want to go make sure you book a table, we were lucky to find a spot but need to be out by certain time. But will be back there again soon.

This place is so good! I just discovered it as its walking distance from where I live. We had he mussels, eggplant chips, and patate pizza. All was delicious! It deserves its ranking.

We got takeaway from here! Very yummy Italian pizza here! And super impressed with that delivery app!! Big points there! Keep up the good work

I called and booked one long table and it was confirmed that we would get this. However, when we arrived we were given two tables and told we couldn't have one long table. After such an unsatisfactory experience I decided to write a review on Facebook. Later that night a call was recieved from Cornerstone with a request to take down the review. After declining they threatened to sue me if the review wasn't removed. Although I knew that it isn't possible to be sued for a review I decided to removed it anyway in order to prevent any further hassle. I have decided to write this review in order to show everyone else what kind of business you are dealing with and how they treat their customers. This is a business that will threaten to sue you just in order to keep you from sharing a poor experience and keep a good set of reviews.<br/><br/>ABSOLUTLEY DISGUSTING
Beccy's Adventures
I can see why this place has so many positive reviews. A traditional Italian spot with great quality food. The spaghetti and meatballs were faultless. I highly reccomend it if you’re looking to have something ‘traditional’ but full of flavour. The ambience is also great, very cosy. A return is guaranteed.
Stelyios
Awesome pizza and pasta at a terrific price. Pizza is thin based, well cooked and with generous proportion of toppings. Ingredients are fresh. Pasta is cooked to perfection and makes your wanting more and more with each mouthful!<br/><br/>I can say we thoroughly enjoying visiting here whenever we get the chance. Small cosy and always fresh great tasting food!

Finally got around to trying out the food at Cornerstone!  It was well worth the wait.  Our family shared the calamari, fries (kids!) and meatballs as starters.  All were delicious, and the servings very generous.  For main, the kids bolognese (delicious), the lamb ragu pasta (even more delicious), margherita and cornerstone pizzas (so sooo good).  I cannot fault any of it.<br/><br/>Needless to say we ordered too much, but we were happily given the leftovers to take home.<br/><br/>The service is warm, friendly and efficient.<br/><br/>We will be back.
Soliciē
5/5. Always deliver. Food is amazing and service is on point. If you want some really good calamari and pasta. This is the place you should not hesitate to go. I basically go to visit very week. It has become my top 5 fav restaurants in Melbourne.
Saady
Food was delicious, pizza was cooked to perfection, seafood linguine was delicious, fresh seafood and pasta was brilliant. Definitely recommend this place.
Trenise
Visited Cornerstone for a midweek catch up with a friend and we were not disappointed. Shared the 4 cheese gnocchi and the calamari - both were soooo delish, especially washed down with a glass of Rose. Finished off by sharing the chocolate semifreddo, beautiful flavours and great atmosphere!
Brunos Food Safari
Last time I came here it was boiling temperature wise, and there were no seats. <br/><br/>Was spewing I didn’t get to try them earlier after trying the food there today. I started with the calamari entree and split a pizza with my wife. Was sensational the calamari. It was a ripper serve size wise. Yum! Didn’t want to have pizza because I was already feeling half full (Mrs loved the pizza!). I saved myself however for the spaghetti with meatballs and my wife had the chicken and mushroom risotto. Everything was on point! Service was great too. To top it off I got to take home half a plate of pasta and rissoto and half a pizza because it was too much!! Was rapt that I could take it away as it was delish and didn’t want it thrown. Overall great experience! Well done 👍🏾

We were there in a large group. Staff were very accommodating and it was pretty busy. Food was good everyone was happy except those ordered pasta. The pasta is cooked al dente (maybe they should note this on menu) and was too hard. I had the spaghetti with vongole and there were quite a few broken pieces of shell in the sauce. Other than this it was really good for a local eatery.
M. Wilcocks
We ordered the woodfired pescatore pizza and eggplant parmigiana for takeaway tonight, and we both agreed that it was one of the best pizzas and vego parmas we've ever had! Staff were very friendly on the phone and when we went to pick it up. Fat Chips were delicious, and you get a ton of value for the price. Can't wait to try the other pizzas :D
John Somers
Mediocre Italian food at best. I have tried their parma which wasn't great. Their pizzas are very doughy and dry. Their meatballs were not good either. Friendly staff but the food is definitely lacking.
Picky ''C''
Better than most out there and service fantastic .<br/>Great priced compared to most wood fire pizzas and quality great .<br/>No much to say other than salad could of done with more of a kick with dressing and dessert average.<br/>Worth the visit ..

Writing this review right on premises whilst a clean up is in progress after my 3 year old decided to knock over some soft drink. So far everything we’ve ordered has been bang on👌🏼the gnocchi here is the best I’ve ever had...not the typical millennial ‘best ever’...but literally the best gnocchi my Asian palette has ever had experienced. My brother had the veal schnitzel which was fairly nod worthy where veal is concerned. I particularly enjoyed the arancini...beautifully crafted balls of gooey goodness. Can’t wait to come back here with first timers and relish in the praises for introducing them to this awesome joint.
FoodieBrothers
Lets start off with the food, the gamberi pizza was all class, crispy base, fluffy crust and a perfect amount of topping, just what you would expect from a woodfire pizza. Then came the main, the chicken and pumpkin risotto and what more can we say. A generous, delightful and exceptionally cooked risotto with perfect flavour combinations.<br/><br/>The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, along with the staff who are always friendly and helpful.
Queen Of Food
I've eaten here a few times and had mixed results. The first time I came was for a bridal shower function and the food was really good - for main we had barramundi and it was well seasoned and delicious. I then decided to come back a few months later for my birthday with the family and we chose various starters and then mains. The eggplant lasanga and calamari were really nice. For main I had the ravioli which were a bit of a disappointment as the sauce lacked flavour and seasoning - it felt like they had simply opened a sauce bottle, heated it up and served it. I've been back to try their pizzas and I think out of all the things I've tried, this needs the most work. The pizza base is incredibly thin in the middle which makes it soggy and if you try to lift it up the toppings fall off. Another thing is the pizzas are dry - it's either they put minimal sauce on or the sauce is watered down that it has no flavour. It's a shame because the place has the makings to be great but just a number of things are holding it back.<br/><br/>UPDATE: Went back again yesterday for lunch and tried the seafood linguine and it was delicious! The seafood was fresh and cooked perfectly. For entrees we had the calamari, meatballs, arancini and eggplant lasagne and they were all tasty and delicious!<br/><br/>I certainly think their pastas, entrees and mains are there strong points.

One of the best Italian restaurants you will ever go to.. Anything you order is amazing. Reminds me of home cooking, the way it should be when you go out.. Highlights the calamari, polenta chips with mushroom sauce, meatballs with sauce and bread are Yummmm... pizzas are wood fired and not traditional and boring.... Basically anything you order will be 5 star... The staff always smiling and very inviting.. Love this place... ps Don't go off the street call and book to avoid dissapointment because once you go in and smell that food and get tokd sorry no tables .. trust me you will want to go back... i keep going back... time and time again...
Alannah Harbord
Amazing food. I order all the time on uber eats can only imagine that the food is even better dining in. <br/><br/>Pizzas are the best I've tried in the northern suburbs. Pastas are delicious and very generous serving sizes. Great arancini too.
GET•IN•MY•BELLY
I live two blocks away and couldn't be happier to see a quality place to eat finally in Coburg. The wood fired pizzas are great but it's the other dishes on the menu that reign supreme. My go to dishes are the calamari or the polenta chips, the veal cutlet or the risotto. The gnocchi with the italian cheese sauce is pretty good to. The new owners have done a great job with the fit out considering it's former life. It has a great atmosphere even when it's full to the brim.
WineLover
I find Cornerstone a little pricey for pizza but I can't help myself I keep coming back. Their gluten free base is fantastic, light and fluffy you almost don't even know its gluten free, and there are lots of great topping options although my absolute favourite would be the eggplant pizza. The atmosphere is relaxed with lots of exposed brick and a roll of brown paper on the wall for specials. The staff are always friendly and attentive and make dining here a pleasure. Definitely worth a visit!

Went with family plus baby. They cater for kids, first time I have been to a restaurant that gives suitable cutlery and plate for kids. The food was beautiful,, the service was excellent and can't fault it. Love it, the new owners did a fantastic job with the place and the menu. Will go back, for sure
Judith Pimentel
Caring staff and delicious meals <br/>We're 1st timers in the restaurant; it was full and we made a last minute booking hence we ended up sitting outside; it was a real day, the staff noticed us and when she came back she gave us the good news that there's a table available inside - we were so thankful and from there our experience exceeded expectations- pizzas were beautiful made and delicious. Gnocchi was perfect- staff was so attentive to detail well done chrissie for looking after us we'll absolutely come back
Mireille
Was rather disappointed with the food here. Risotto was dry and pizza was lacking in flavour with very minimal toppings. Probably give it a miss.
Fiery Sensation
Mmm this overhyped over priced joint. Now I know you think I'm being harsh but $21 bucks for a dry hard minimal topping pizza it was ordinary. My friends ordered the chicken parm there reply was big good tasty. So maybe it's hit and miss. But my overall is been there done that...

At last. A great pizza place in coburg. Nice tasting pizza, Very authentic. The espresso martinis are awesome. Large portion sizes. I wish we had known because we drastically over ordered. The guy behind the counter was great but the wait staff walked around like they had left something up somewhere they shouldn't have. Definitely on the pricey side, but the standard of food was high so I could easily justify it. Worth a go!!!
Gion
Went there with my family and really enjoyed the atmosphere and staff were friendly.  Woodfire Pizzas were thin base with fresh tasty toppings. Seafood spaghetti  I had was pretty good to. Wines were limited but some italian wines on list made it interesting to try. will be back
Tony
Very quick and friendly service. Generous portions of food and reasonable prices. Had Patate pizza, antipasto and meatballs all were fantastic.
Vic
Dined here 2 weeks ago! Was very impressed with customer service, food and happy environment. Although I dined here yesterday, this time taking my family. Upon arrival at 5pm we entered only to find the "pizza maker" annoyed that we arrived at opening time. He looked up with hands out and pulled a negative facial reaction. He walked to & from the kitchen a couple of times (past our table) with anger in his face. This made us feel very uncomfortable & awkward. This unfortunately made us feel like possibly not re-dining here again.<br/>Instead we packed our dinner in containers and ate at home. Sorry for the feedback but maybe this can help you with your future customer's experience.

Service is pleasant and food 🍲 is great. The portions are very generous especially for the pizza's and desserts. Will definitely be back :-)!
John Jones
Been here 3 times now.Pizza is quite ok,although the service, whilst meeting the technical definition thereof,is quite sterile and perfunctory.Lots of charmless young waiting girls milling about, gives the whole place a slightly cheap Lygon St family restaurant feel.<br/>For an eatery such as this, they really should hire more mature staff (ex pat Italians would be a good start) who have some personality to give it more of a classy ambience.
Alex
Went here on a friend's recommendation and was not disappointed! Delicious pizzas and fantastic service. Will definitely be back to try more of the menu!

Really good and hearty dishes! Everything was generously portioned and seasoned. Do not pass on the Meatballs which was super flavourful and juicy. The Pappardelle Ragu was rich and generous as well. Pizza was yum, but the one we ordered was a bit soggy due to the vegetables. Will definitely come back soon.

It' very GOOD , we had the steamed mussels, rocket pear & walnut salad, ciders and cornerstone Pizza.<br/>POSITIVE: ambience was great, beautiful décor and friendly service, portions were bigger than expected and tasty food for a moderate price.<br/>NEGATIVE : its a low key location, we are neighbors in the area otherwise u would miss it in the suburban Coburg /Brunswick street.

The gluten free pasta and pizzas bases are the best!!!! for those suffering from intolerances like myself, i HIGHLY recommend Cornerstone in Coburg. They Kindly allowed me to bring my own lactose free cheese which was used on to make me a gluten and lactose free pizza.….. thank you thank you thank you!!!  See you guys soon!!

I have driven down Harding street that many times and have never ever noticed this gem. We caught up with a group of friends here last night for a birthday dinner. The best part of Cornerstone Pizzeria is that its not only a pizza restaurant, it has a full menu from starters, pastas, meats, desserts and a good kids menu to but not to big. The wood fire pizzas are thin, crisp, not to heavy on the toppings and flavorsome. The highlight for me were the Sicilian arancini's (like my nonna makes them only these were round, not the pyramid shape) and the pappardelle ragu that was FULL of flavour. Service was fine considerign it was full, a good atmosphere.... maybe a bit to loud if anything but that's the only negative i can think of. I'll be back for the pappardelle for sure.

Some Seriously good food, very generous servings, big tick on the gluten free options , reasonably priced - a great local pizza place setting and atmosphere 👍🏻👍🏻

Pretty disappointing to be honest. Seaford linguine had no taste and waiting 20 minutes after our main for the dessert menu which never came. We walked out without having dessert or a coffee. On the positive side the meatballs and sauce was good!

Our team was there a few months ago and the food was great as per usual. Except one thing. We all noticed on our following visit the pizza had changed. It was great before, but it's just gone to a whole new level. WOW! What ever you did to that pizza guys, it tasted like it did when we were in a Naples italy. WOW! Thank you for the wonderful italian food and pizza. We say food and pizza because in our books, pizza is not food. Pizza is a combination of well balanced and strategically placed musical notevchart, which should ultimately deliver a taste sensation ensemble, similar to when listening to Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, or Hold the line by Toto. DONE!

Id eat everything on the menu. I don't say that often. Cornerstone is The benchmark. Like a well oiled machine. Food perfectly cooked, service spot on and on the ball. I can see why they always pump. Bravi ragazzi

Celebrated my birthday at the Cornerstone with my family and friends recently. Very good ambience and pretty good service. I like the simple, stock-standard Italian choices but liked the specials better. A good venue to eat out for a some good Italian foods, but still seeking "the WOW factor".

Went to Cornerstone for dinner and it was fantastic. The restaurant is beautifully decked out, and there is plenty of staff who are friendly and extremely attentive. Food is exceptional - the calamari is a must!

We stumbled upon cornerstone pizzeria after a tram detour trying to get home and am I glad we did. What caught our attention is the design of the place, modern rustic and attention to wood and the wood fire oven, clean cut and comfortable, so we walked in. The gnocchi is perfection it is soft but not mushy. Pizza is fab. Staff are lovely and knowledgable. Awesome set up inside with a great atmosphere. A lot of thought, caring and attention to detail was put into creating cornerstone and it has paid off well. Will be back and next time bringing the whole family!

You know you have found a great place to eat when you want to go back for a certain dish. Well i have 4!!!! The calamari is a must as a starter, pappardelle lamb ragu or the chicken and wild mushroom risotto and the prosciutto rucola pizza. Saying that, i tried some of the homemade gnocchi with 4 cheese sauce and that was sensational to. I mistook the chocolate mousse cake as chocolate mousse but i have to say it was a cracker as a cake. The strawberry cream on the side is yum as.<br/><br/>The fit out is warm and inviting and the service is ok. The new outdoor area looks pretty cool but we couldn't sit outside due to the rain (go away, come again another day).

Third time dining at Cornerstone, and it's definitely worthy of leaving some comments to help my fellow Zomatos pick a local place to dine in. Firstly the decor and set up of the restaurant is casual dining with a modern urban feel. The house speciality is wood fired pizzas with traditional Italian toppings. You can also get something as simple as a chicken parma though. The service was excellent and the foods came out in great time. Overall, it has become my family's new favourite. Cheers to Cornerstone and well done on a great dining experience :)

Coburg Gem! This joint has outdone itself. The venue looks absolutely amazing, they have spared no expense. We have eaten here at least 3 times always spot on. Pizza is the best in the area by a country mile. Friendly staff and the owner goes out of his way making you feel welcome. Look out Woodstock and 400c gradi cause if the word gets out about Cornerstone, you may lose some customers it to this little joint in Coburg.....

Cornerstone is a gem in the heart of the North. Perfect for a small function or a place to catch up with friends and family over a nice meal. We love the décor and setting. The bruschetta were served with our favourite buratta cheese. The tiramisu was yummy but a tad strong with the alcohol. The marinara was definitely the stand out dish, perfect al dante spaghetti with a perfect white sauce. The only let down was the pizza, it was half way between a Napoli style pizza and a modern commercial pizza, nonetheless it was still tasty! A must try in Coburg!!!
