Best pizza I’ve had in Melbourne!! Family run business, beautiful thin base pizza and good quality ingredients. Been looking for a regular pizza joint and this is now it

Omg these pizzas are the bomb. Best Woodfire in a long time. Deserves a lot of support . Top ingredients authentic taste . Plus Tiramisu day no more . A perfect finish. I’ll be back !
Nik S
Best pizzas around, every time we try somewhere else we always want to come back to terranova. Perfect and consistent pizza
Sandra Marsden
The pizza was ok...nothing special. The dessert Tiramisu was lovely but pricey!!

Garlic focaccia and Capricciosa pizza. Made quickly and tasted great!

Serious quality combined with serious value. Pity I live in another state or I’d be a very regular customer.

Great pizza all round. Love the thin base really tasty. It's casual dinning that is great for young families. Gets busy with the local takeaway as well. Support local Business with a family meal. Noting pics date back to when you could dine in....
Shannon
Terrible service. Terrible staff. Terribly rude and arrogant owner. <br/><br/>Rude throughout the whole time I was there. <br/>I will not return.
Peter
This is up there as one of the best pizza’s in Melbourne. In my top 3.

For someone who “doesn’t really eat pizza”, I sure do find myself at Terranova a lot! The pizzas are traditional and delicious, with a real wood fire taste that you can smell before you even walk in the door; the desserts are moorish and the owners have a way of making you feel welcome and at home. <br/><br/>Terranova is worth checking out... I’ve been going down the whole menu but can’t decide which is my favourite, they’re all so good. If you enjoy a true Italian style pizza, this local gem definitely never disappoints!
Bree
Went here last night my my nonna and zia jo haven’t been for years! They never disappoint, they are always so welcoming and friendly and provide great service. Their pizza is amazing and I couldn’t fault it one bit. Almost forgot to take a pic as I was extremely hungry but this potato pizza was sensational!! I usually don’t like potato pizza but this was a winner. Can’t wait to go back :)
Travis Harrison
Absolutely amazing pizza complimented by very warm family service, we go here almost every week! Delicious Italian pizza at it best! Love it!
Chiara Messina
Amazing traditional wood fired pizza with perfect crust and quality ingredients. The most welcoming and beautiful staff. Totally recommended!

Pizza’s here are truly amazing, they crusty and always with fresh food , the staff is friendly and easy to talk to , absolutely love it , dessert is also really delicious too.

When you get a little bit over the “ napolitano ” style pizzas and you just really feel like a good pizza- that doesn’t go thin in the middle and have mountains of crust on the ends , then terranova is for you. <br/>I think when we go here , we are just happy to pay a good price for a pizza and feel like we haven’t been ripped off of ingredients . <br/>The gluten free base is made on site and tastes great , and actually feels like your having a pizza and not like some of the other crap gf pizzas around.

Always go there. The very very best Pizza. I especially love this time of year as the Nduja Pizza is on for the next 3 months. The Sausage is home made and is the paprika. Get in quick supplies only last for 3 months.
Coco.edgerton
This place has amazing artisan pizzas, it currently has its seasonal Nduja pizza which I wait for every winter....must visit....beautiful friendly family run business...my local favourite for sure
Adam Botts
best pizza joint in the area, get around it . great service, everyone is super friendly. the food is amazing, authentic italian pizzas and great selection of wines
Rhia Ploumidis
Best pizza in Melbourne !! I come here twice a week it’s amazing !! And the tiramisu for desert is to die for the pizza is made in a traditional wood fire pizza oven and gives you the true taste of what pizza should taste like with traditional Italian toppings ! Nothing like this place I absolutely love it ❤️<br/>
Paula
Excellent service, cosy and fantastic atmosphere, my favorite is the seasonal home made Nduja. Cooked to perfection, cant get enough of these pizzas.
John Politis
The best pizza in Melbourne without a doubt being coming here for 13 years and not once have we had a bad meal. Even today with all the madness in world you come in and they are always smiling A must have when you come here is the bruschetta and the prawn pot <br/>A beautiful pizzeria run by a beautiful family😀😀
Helen
Amazing pizza and service :) family atmosphere with the best pizza bruschetta in Mel :) prawn hot pot a favourite . Dessert you can't go past the Chocolate mousse or strawberry delight . All home made & fresh <br/><br/><br/>

My favourite pizza joint in Melbourne! The pizza are cooked perfectly. The base isn't floppy at all. In fact you could balance a piece on your knife without it falling off. My favourite is the Mia Commare with the gorgonzola and bocconcini cheese. Run by a friendly family that are VERY serious about making the best pizza in Melbourne. Don't do delivery but it's worth the trip.

Absolutely expensive for a very ordinary pizza. Taste was ok, but nothing more. <br/>Staff were friendly, though.<br/>The place is cosy, but nothing special about it.<br/>We will not go back.
Bruce Salvin
Great food, fantastic menu and very welcoming staff. A real old style family business where the whole team contributes to a fun and enjoyable experience. Adrian's customer service an knowledge of his product, are of a very high standard.<br/><br/>
Robgac
You rude pricks! I walk in have a table that fits four free but just because I'm only two people you tell me you can't take me as customer! Rude as not even ask what I'd like to if I'd like to do takeaway! Never come here again!!!
TJP
Way too expensive for what you get!! Our regular place has gone down hill so we tried Terranova. Takeaway. Will not ever buy from here again. <br/><br/>For a place that is referred to as 'gourmet' there was nothing special about these pizzas. The usual pizzas and toppings, nothing gourmet or exciting to choose from at all, and charging at least $20 a pizza. <br/><br/>Where was the pizazz to these pizzas! No flavour, no 'wow' factor, nothing to amaze the tastebuds. You have to do more than have a nicely cooked thin crust in a wood fire oven to be 'gourmet' and to charge those prices! <br/><br/>Also ordered a rocket and Parmesan salad. $12 for dressed rocket filled in a takeaway container and five slices of Parmesan placed on top. I cannot believe they can charge $12 for that!<br/><br/>These pizzas need to be cheaper, or lift the amazement factor on the toppings. Dull, dull, dull. I expected so much more given the prices. <br/><br/>I can think of two other pizza places that truly sit in the gourmet category - one in Brunswick (Woodstock) and one not in the area but in Hawthorn (Santoni). Regardless of locality, these other places justify their price. <br/><br/>If you buy from Terranova prepare to feel like you've spent unwisely.

Terranova is great choice for a good quality wood fired pizza. They are open late during the week and it has a lovely ambiance. Traditional Italian pizzas.

This place has gone down hill in the last few years. Was the best in the area but as others have said the pizzas are getting thinner with less and less on them. Sorry to say I agree with the others that the elderly lady is a also little annoying.<br/>Prices are ridiculous. We choose takeaway as sitting in gets annoying real quick.

I've been going to Terranova for the past 4-5 years. The day I got my license was the day I realised I could finally go on my own whenever I wanted and satisfy my pizza cravings.<br/><br/>The pizzas are thin base and the toppings not excessive but exceptional. My favourite pizza is the capricciosa with no caramelized onion although tonight I ordered the mia commare and added rocket for a bit of freshness. Suffice it to say, as a regular, the service was spectacular as usual and even though there was a bit function in the back room, their brisk service meant I didn't wait long. However I was asked and given a drink within a minute of arriving and after ordering.<br/><br/>The pizza costs more than your average place but the quality is next level. I often come simply by myself, place an order over the phone for "the usual" and am instantly recognised by the owners. They speak plainly but respectfully and eptomise an Italian pizza restaurant. Everytime, warm conversation about anything and everything is offered and continued should I engage in it. They're just downright friendly. <br/><br/>My only drawback about Terranova is that I would love to see something like gnocchi although they do have other specials now and again. Beats almost every pizza place on lygon and after travelling to Italia and coming back, I realised I still preferred Terranova.<br/><br/>Next time I come, I'll be sure to take a photo of the pizza. I ate it too quickly and forgot to take the photo :)<br/>

This has been our local pizza joint for the last year, great small family business the pizzas have always been spot on. The lady that runs it told me they were made with love.
R B
Not so bad but not so good. We ate there, had to ask a couple of times for water, overall it is a little on the expensive side. The shop has more character from the street than it does from inside. To get a better review would need better prices, some work on service and more variety on the menu.
Laura Papworth
We have tried a lot of pizza places and this one is a standout!traditional pizza with A lot of flavor. We dined in, not a lot of tables available but cozy, service was good but the lady was a bit rude.
Mickablack
Pricey for what you get The herb pizza was rock hard
Patchita
Horrible service. Their pizzas are extreamly expensive and with very limited ingredients. Their service if dinning in is extreamly slow or in one case waiting for more then an hour for our pizza.
Pjgirl
This place is small, cosy, simple and sticks to Italian traditions. <br/><br/>The pizza base is thin and cooked perfectly. That beautiful wood fire taste comes through nicely. <br/><br/>We had a range of pizzas (5-7) and I must stay each were delicious. Each slice was packed with flavour. <br/><br/>If you are the type that likes a lot of topping this place isn't for you. I like that they don't over do it as its the traditional way where if you get the flavour combo right, you don't need all that topping....which they do.
Gary
Pizza. Just tried first time very nice but had 4 tiny capsicum strips not enought when you pay $20. Hope to see a little more.

Best pizza ever. We love Terranova pizza. They use quality ingredients, the pizzas are thin, crunchy and so tasty!
Sam
I have cravings for Terranova pizzas all the time, and I smash not 1 but 2 pizzas I just can't stop eating them, these pizzas have the perfect balance.
Jo Paul-Taylor
Outstanding. Terranova makes THE best pizza in Melbourne, hands down. We eat there all the time and the food is consistently fabulous. Their seasonal pizzas are fabulous, knowing the potato pizza will be back on the menu makes ther prospect of winter bearable. And their homemade njuda? Divine. Always great.
Anthony Strangis
Grest place for a pizza. Fresh ingredients, beautiful wood fire taste.
SpaghettiCarrot
Probably the best pizza north of Carlton/Brunswick East. However I have a love - hate relationship with this place, and it has nothing to do with the quality of food. You just don't know what you'll get from the service/waitress (the older lady). Her behavior is almost bi-polar, it's bizarre... Nevertheless the amazing pizzas make up for it. Although you may be surprised at the size of the bill at nights end.
Cafesociety
We are regulars and the pizzas here are great! Prices for genuine wood-fired seem reasonable to us. Many of the pizzas are unique to Terranova. Best pizza place around. The staff are warm and friendly. If you come here simply for great pizza you will not be disappointed.
Love Food
Went there the other night with a group of friends, as we walked in the aromas of this place was amazing, they have a wide selection of pizzas and antipasto. Started of with the clay pots with prawns, and I can tell you these guys are really authentic, our taste buds were going crazy. We ordered our pizzas, were amazing well be back!! For what you get it's ,a one quality and these guys are cheap for wood fired pizzas, go to other places they are more expensive than these guys, and cooking in gas..<br/>I rate this place number 1.
Alberto
Wowwwwwww!!! Now this is a pizza. Thanks guys I'm in heaven.

Limitations a plenty!!. So if pizza is your thing then this place will probably make you happy, they have a decent selection available and what you pay by todays standards, is fairly typical yet still overpriced (expect to pay handsomely for extra's) but sadly that's where it all comes to a grinding halt.<br/> We wanted to make a night of it, a couple of starters, maybe a pizza, maybe a main or perhaps even both, suffice to say we were hungry!! There were practically no alternatives to the reigning centrepiece of a large pizza of your choice with exception of one of their long standing specials "prawns" (more like shrimp) and olives which were baked in garlic oil and some chilli & served with yep you guessed it a little herb pizza/flat bread.<br/> Frankly for the $25 odd price tag I expected a lot more, minimal "prawns" and a couple of handfuls of olives thrown in a clay bowl and baked - what was lacking other than the quantity was the love, a child could've done that and charged the same, we'd never know...<br/> So if you like a decent overpriced pizza Terranova is your destination, for anything more go anywhere else but.. #onedimensionalconceptssuck<br/>P.S. Service was run average, clever concept taking orders OTP whilst tending to restaurant patrons but realistically felt like the 2nd most important person in the conversation when the call came through - efficient or rude??

Best pizza in Australia. Staff makes you feel as if they have a real connection. The waitresses are always there when you need them but don't suffocate you.The pizza is exactly what the sign says traditional. By far the best pizza I have ever had highly recommended for anyone looking for good food, good atmosphere and a great way to impress a first date keep it up
Dominic Paolo
After spending $90 on 4 pizzas I was disgusted when I was asked to pay $2.00 for fresh chillies, after I had already paid the bill. The old lady is only concerned in making money. I have found a better pizza shop in Yarraville called L'Uccellino where the service is great and the food is excellent and all the chillies you can eat
Clarence Boddicker
I claim to be a bit of a pizza connoisseur and this is one the best pizzas you can find in Melbourne
Layla
Very nice pizza Service c.... Very nice pizza<br/><br/>Service can be better though :-(
Pier
I go there few time and always find a nice atmosfere and good pizza . BUT last night i have the worst pizza i ever have! Poor pizza ,the service like mc donald and plus after finding a piece of plastic in the pizza they try to charge me for that ! They dont see me again !!!!!!!! And to the lady : change job!!!
Moura Kabalan
Hands down THE BEST pizza I have eaten since being in Italy! Words don't do this place any justice. I don't usually eat many slices whenever my partner and i order from other places however I DEVOURED the entire pizza I ordered!!!! Even my fiancé was shocked! Do yourself a favour, stop READING and get to the place !!! AMAZING!!!!
Buon Gusto
Great Pizza. We have been long standing clients and the pizza has always been reliable and buona. We take our italian visitors and they always say best pizza in Australia. Highly recommended.
Foodiecritic
For those who likes authentic thin italian pizza, very over priced for the plain pizza, service could improve, invest in professional staff

Never had such a Eggplant Pizza Ever!!. It’s a cool place to be in with your with friends or family. No doubt staffs are friendly and you feel welcomed every time and homely too. Well, if you love eating real good quality and tasty pizzas then you are at right place. Menu is good. And as we are vegetarians we always go for vegetarian options only. I love Eggplant pizza here they make it so well that I have never eaten before in my life!!! This is my favourite place. We prefer coming here to eat pizzas rather going to Lygon street to eat.

Dinner for three 2 adults one child. ...Waitress was great ,friendly and thorough...but thats about the best part..we ordered a basic meal two pizzas and a foccacia and small drink for the bub...we had brought our own bottle of wine. The pizzas were ok nothing great slightly overpriced but when we got the bill we were very disappointed that they saw fit to charge us $2.50 each for corkage and $4.30 for a small cup of lemonade for the kid...unbelievable !!...we will not return
Baz
Great pizza, a little pricy
TasterNeg
The pizza's are belissimo! The base is thin with crunchy edges and toppings are flavors on, my favourite is the fungi and the prawn
Foodie Critic
Amazing pizza, a bit pricey, but I'll happily pay for quality
Queen Of Food
Pizza = yum. Had dinner here not long ago and the pizzas were great. They had a thin crust and the perfect balance of toppings. To end the night we had dessert, the gelati was sweet and delicious. The pannacotta was creamy and better than any others I have tried. Oh and to top it off - friendly and speedy service. I will definitely be returning!

Small place but lovely place. Went there last night with a friend, and let me to you, the pizzas were so well cooked --I loved it! I will be going back there again. Friendly staff, nice thin crusted pizzas mmm it was nice :)

I'm not a fan of pizza (I know, pathetic right?!), but terranova converted me! <br/>This is by far the best pizza I have ever had, I refuse to eat pizza from anywhere else! What a local gem!

Great Pizzas. Hidden gem in Coburg! Delish wood fired pizzas...sparse toppings, tasty though. Had the standard Hawaiin & a spicy sausage/ anchovies ....nice cosy interior & busy on the week night that I visited! Pity they do pizzas only..great coffee!
Elena Chebkasova
Best pizza ever!!. Fantastic taste, nice atmosphere, you can always feel when people put their hearts in what they do. Been here a couple of times in winter and really enjoyed dinner with a glass of red wine, the smell of pizzas coming out of wood-fire oven is amazing. Well done guys!!

Just your local Pizza place...not on par with i Carusi. The staff are friendly and attentive. The pizzas are ordinary...nothing to brag about. It's a great hangout when your in jeans and a T catching up with friends...
Shauna
Bellissimo!. I have been to this restaurant numerous times & they never disappoint. I sometimes struggle to decide whether to have dessert or another pizza! They are extremely generous with their toppings & the pana cotta is like silk! Amazing.
ChowDOWN
I Carusi? No, Terranova. The title says it all. i Carusi has the reputation but this place has the better pizza and service. The people here are simply wonderful and lovely to talk to.
Anthony Salemi
Really tasty and proper authentic style Italian pizzas. Pastry was woodoven tasty, and prosciutto was added liberally. Recommend
Julian Kelly
Great experience. First time visit to Terranova- Incredibly tasty pizza's with a delightful texture. Very friendly staff. A pleasure to dine in<br/><br/>Thanks
Comarose
With several local pizza options in the area the quality ingredients makes this place pretty exceptional but obviously pricier. The calabrese is fantastic with a perfect base and drizzled oil. Garlic foccacia is light and savoury. <br/>bustling place, good atmosphere.
Omnomnom
Scrumptious Unique Pizzas!. Terranova offers delectable unique combinations of pizza toppings on traditional style Italian crust. Thoroughly recommend.
James
Best pizza around and very friendly. Come here atleast 4 times a month!
Julius D'urden
Minimalist pizza at it's best. We came in late and had a prawn and spinach pizza to share. The crust style was thin and in terms of toppings Terranove has a minimalist style. However it's quality and not quantity that counts and so the pizza was delicious. Cheese was high quality and the crust was perfect.<br/><br/>I think they only do pizzas and desserts here but they do it very well. Staff were very friendly and it appears to be a family run and owned business. Highly recommended.
Stompy
Yummy pizzas and friendly staff who were very welcoming of my children (a 4 year old and a 1 year old). A high chair was provided and extra plates so we could share food - give small samples to the kids. However the set-up is not particularly kid-friendly - no toys or playspace and not sure if there is a change table (as we didn't need to change any nappies whilst there). Also being on a main road means that with small kids, it is safest to be seated eat indoors so they can't jump up and run out on the road. But none of this mattered as my kids happily sat at the table and ate until we were ready to leave. <br/><br/>The pizzas are really, really good. Although they are a bit pricey - all are 'large' size and priced at around $17 each. The dessert range is limited to a few classic Italian desserts (gelati, tiramisu, chocolate mousse or a dessert pizza) but this was sufficient choice after a big pizza meal.
Papaleom
Friendly staff and good quality pizzas.
Frank Gullone
The gourmet pizza's are the best in the area. Fantastic , and well worth the price
