Review Baan Thai Cuisine - Coburg

Friendly service, and great tasting Thai food. I had the jungle curry, which was better than most jungle curries I have had in the past. Very fragrant. If you like chilli, ask for it to be "thai levels of hot/spicy", amazing. My partner had a green curry, which was very rich, yum. The food was good value, cheaper than most Thai places. Though I reflect that perhaps there could have been more beef in the curry I ordered, it was mostly vegetables... The meat that was there was good quality. Whilst it isn't the absolute best Thai that I have ever had, I would say its a close enough second place, and it was a good price. I feel the great value bumps it up to a well deserved five stars.

Yum! I ordered takeaway tonight and it was delicious. Flavoursome Laksa and awesome curry puffs. Very friendly staff. I look forward to tasting the other dishes.

A wide variety of options including really tasty vegetarian ones. I really like the noodle dishes especially the Drunken Noodles with lots of tangy green peppercorns. The people who run Baan Thai are always so friendly and welcoming and happy to answer questions about their food. We usually do pickup as it is less expensive and much faster.

The food here is always delicious and the staff are super friendly. I love the penang curry - delicious and always with lots of vegetables as well. Everything I've ordered from here has always been top notch. A fabulous little local gem!

Worse Thai food ever Only got 3 thin slides of meat in Red curry Duck Ordered via Uber eat, worth 17 dollars Horrible, not worth the money Never go there again Called the restaurant, guess what they say “u have to talk to Uber” Oh, Really? didn’t know Uber is the Chief .

I can always rely on Baan Thai to produce quality food - specifically Green Curry is my favourite on the menu. Just delicious! Nice family owned restaurant that are very nice every time I pop in to pick up my order.

Delicious tasty meal full of flavour I ordered a beef stirfry and it was so good. I dealt with the lovely lady who runs the place, didnt get her name, but she’s such an asset to this place, treats customers so well (thank you!) I loved my meal, I picked it up still hot and enjoyed it so much

Very Good food great family buisness makes best coconut green curry and prawns tha wife lives kaksa and coconut rice too...yummo.

Fresh and authentic. Affordable and one of the cheapest in comparison to other Thai restaurants in the area. Always a go to when ordering take away. Friendly staff.

Very pleasant Thai food experience... definitely the best since we moved to coburg. <br/><br/>Chicken wings - good. Boyfriend got his chicken craving sorted.<br/><br/>Curry puffs - very good! Flaky, buttery, and just what you’d want. <br/><br/>Green chicken curry - beautiful <br/><br/>Massaman - not a heap of beef, but the flavour was balanced and not overly sweet<br/><br/>Laksa- huge portion, nice pieces of fish, flavour was great. Noodles are thinner than I was expecting<br/><br/>Pad Thai- a bit disappointing as the colour was very pale and there wasn’t a huge amount of flavour. <br/><br/>Would definitely order again as delivery was quick and food was high quality. I would recommend having lime and fish sauce on hand so that you can jazz up any dishes you aren’t completely satisfied with. That salty sweet flavour is what Thai food is all about and this food gives the perfect base to adjust the seasoning to your liking

The food is super delicious with the perfect amount of spice. The delivery service was top notch and ready and delivered before we had cooked the rice! Very friendly staff. Been before and will go back again!

What a brilliant little Thai Restaurant! We ordered take away and for 4 people it came to only $72 which is super reasonable! <br/>We ordered:<br/>- Roti Bread with Satay Sauce<br/>- Prawn crackers<br/>- Beef Red Curry<br/>- Chicken Satay Stirfry<br/>- Chicken Pad Thai<br/>- Chicken and ginger/oyster stirfry<br/>- 2 x Large coconut rice<br/>- A can of drink each<br/><br/>All dishes were very tasty, fragrant and fresh! The lady that served me was super friendly. We will definitely be eating here again. My favourite dish was the red curry as it was nice and creamy rather than runny.

The place is wonderful and should be appreciated more, sadly its lack of customers don't make it reach its potential. Would easily be up there with the best Thai places i have eaten at

Often get delivery from here, and although the food is sometimes nice, have had a couple of bad experiences. Last time they forgot half our food and we had to wait another hour with no apology and my friend having to wait while everyone else was eating. This time I ordered the Pad See Ew with prawns, it's usually been ok but it came with 3 prawns which is a bit ridiculous when you pay an extra $4 for it. After reading the other reviews which are mostly bad I Won't be returning

After reading negative reviews about this place we gave it a try after hearing it was under new management. Upon entering the restaurant we were greeted by dirty walls with holes, outdated, tacky decor, tables with no tablecloths, cutlery, menus, plates or napkins, and not a staff member in sight. After finally grabbing someone's attention to order, the waitress dumped our plates and cutlery in a pile on the table and walked away. I picked up the plates and they had dried food stuck to them. <br/><br/>When our entrees arrived they were so hot they were inedible – this is because they were straight out of a frozen pack, like the Home Brand budget Asian variety pack from the supermarket. For the mains we ordered the grilled beef and the vegetable Pad Kee Mao. The "grilled beef" was just a pile of beef strips (and not marinated like the menu suggests) with a tiny bowl of fish sauce and chilli. <br/><br/>The vegetables in the Pad Kee Mao were also frozen. Never in my years of eating this dish have I seen it contain cauliflower, so obviously it was from a frozen vegetable trio of cauliflower, carrot and broccoli. I couldn't even eat half of it, it was so bland, tasteless, and frozen. <br/><br/>Terrible ambiance, terrible food and terrible service. It's insulting and disrespectful for diners to be charged restaurant prices for frozen food. Rated this place a 1 because there's no option for 0. Won't be back.

We used to love this place, had amazing tasting food and good service but sadly its changed hands and thats gone. We would visit this place 3 times a week but a few weeks ago the owners changed and so did the portion sizes and service<br/>so very sad to have to write this but we took a friend last time and the service was so bad mains before entrees that we have missed it for a few weeks<br/>but went back tonight and the serving sizes have changed heaps, cheap stuff like a large rice is smaller than the old small rice<br/>i have 6 pieces of chicken on my meal tonight and the service was rubbish<br/>we use to walk in to a great welcome with water being brought to us as soon as we arrived <br/>not any more<br/>Such a shame as before it was the best Thai in Coburg and the best value for money with good serving sizes<br/> Some owners just dont understand you give larger sizes of the cheap things like white rice that keeps people coming back<br/>sadly we will not return

Had Pad Thai. Wasn't expecting much. The service was nice, but food tasted like a fridge. Only vegetable present in the "chicken and vegetable Pad Thai" was carrot. Won't be going back.

Delicious home delivery which arrived within 20 minutes of ordering. Loads of GF options. Yum!

Delicious. I ordered a vegetarian satay stirfry and coconut rice and really enjoyed it. Restaraunt is not much to look at inside but great food.

Quick and Delish. Ordered the vego red curry and coconut rice from menu log.<br/>Meal was at my house 20 minutes after ordering and was the best red curry I've had. My house mate tried some and loved it so she got some delived the same night and the speed and quality was consistent. Highly reccomend!

Not great. Food was okay though certainly nothing special. very unimpressed by cold room on a freezing night and very surly, unpleasant waitress. we won't return.

Nice Thai food in Coburg!. The shop was small and new but I found food was delicious with good price! really enjoyed it!
