My favorite Lebanese dish which I had to describe to the staff as I didn’t know what it was called. Fateh it is 👍 a dish with fried pieces of Lebanese bread, yogurt, chickpeas and topped off with pine nuts and olive oil, it was yuuummmyyy 😋 Also a mixed grill for the other half 🥰 .

Yes/no: yes!!
Got the falafel plate, other than the weird service and how packed it is, I don’t have anything bad to say
The falafel was cooked perfectly, all the dips and salads were the perfect complement and the bread was beautifully fluffy and soft
I would say a lot of the staff talk Arabic so communication might be a little more difficult with non Arabic speaking customers
I would recommend
Best Falafel’s I’ve had in a while and a great meal deal. A falafel plate could easily feed two (for $12!) we ordered 2 vine leaves but didn’t even get to eat the them we were full. Although I’m not usually a fan of big falafels (I make them at home mini sized) but these were simple; crispy on the outside soft on the inside without too much added spice or texture.
The tabouli was so fresh and a generous portion of salads and pickled veggies, great dip and bread too. Will keep coming back!!
Food is great however staff is very unfriendly and not hygienic. Multiple times I've seen staff handle both food and money without gloves on
Lovely, welcoming family run business. Delicious, tasty and generous serves. Well priced. However, I must admit that the falafel themselves seem quite tasteless. I presume that this is done on purpose so that the other food items are not over-powered.
Bought a Falafel from these guys yesterday, despite service being fairly average, I must admit the falafel wrap was quite good, especially for the price ($6).
Food is so good that you can look past the shit customer service. It's cheap swell which makes it extra awesome, can't look past this place if looking for a good veggie meal
Satisfying, delicious and fantastic value for money, Abbout is one of the best Middle Eastern eateries in Melbourne. Great falafel plates and some amazing chickpea dishes. Lots of variety for vegetarians. Really endearing service too, the woman who seems to run the joint is very cool.
Such delicious falafel and good value for the quality and flavour of food that you get here! Can't go past this place, I highly recommend it. ☺👍
I have been here 10+ times easy. Any time I am in the area I will stop and get a dine in Falafel meal. Its the best I have every had in Australia. Everything is fresh and tastes great. The bread, the salads are both good. The dips are amazing and the Falafel is the best.
The place is always busy, so it can sometimes take some time to get your food. I have waited for over 20 minutes a number of times.
If your not in a rush and want to try what my friends and I think is the best Falafel in Victoria then check this joint out.
Also if you like hot stuff get them to add chili sauce to your Falafel roll. Its a very nice chili
Food is good, but service terrible. Have to ask 2 times for cutlery. They never tell you if their home made bread is not there before ordering.
BEST FALAFELS EVER!
My partner and I have recently moved to Brunswick, and we discovered Falafel House through a friend. She said they made the best Falafels... She wasn't lying! All of the Falafels are freshly made right in front of you... The shop is always packed and usually you have to wait... But it is 100% worth the wait. Did I mention the price? SO CHEAP... $5 for a falafel wrap/sandwich... You can also get a dozen falafel for only $10... So delicious with their hummus or their signature garlic sauce... Delicious!
We ordered black tea, "Flafel meal" and "Msbbahah". Both are very delicious and fresh. Also, service is quite good. Anyway,
I recommend Abbout Flafel House.
We were walking around the area looking for a place to eat. Then we saw this small door where people were queuing. Didn't know about the place before. We asked nicely for which was the most popular dish and with excellent service and politeness they showed us. We tried the falafel dish and the flavor was great. Service was really good and quick.
Fantastic Falafel sandwich with all the toppings for $5. Seriously $5. Fresh and very tasty. They also do a beautifully traditional Lebanese breakfast. Highly recommended.
I can only review what I saw and bought to take home, but we will return to eat here in house if that's any indication of the kind of words that will be posted below.
The service was great, honestly, white man, pretend Greek/Egyptian like me walks into a falafel house with no idea or expectations other than he's heard its good here. More Lebanese than Egyptian I believe but good either way.
I order, don't listen to the guy telling me what i should order and wait. Honestly I just came in for some falafel and hommus, he was gracious enough to tell me falafel and mixed salad, dips and pickles was better value. I didn't listen. I should have.
We waited 15 minutes. Gladly.
Why?
Well because they then made my order fresh on the spot, and they do this for every order. As it should be done, and as its done in the entire Middle East anyway.
People wait, patiently, because that's what you do, especially when the food is good. And so we gladly waited. I felt I could have been back in a shop in back street Cairo.
Our falafel were ready, they weren't the heavily coriander, parsley, broad bean green inside and dark outside falafel I'm searching for (and still don't know where to find these freshly made) but they were chickpea and sesame goodness balls that just have to be tried.
Cold these don't work. Hot and fresh out of the oil, with the in house hommus and even the thinner tahini lemon juice sauce.
Seriously, a must try, a street food that's not on the street but was born on the street and simply stunning to eat, especially in this family owned and run, clean place. We will be back, and thank you
This place has the most amazing falafel on Sydney Road. I recommend getting a platter and make sure you add the warm chickpea dish. It comes in a bowl with a rich buttery flavour. To be honest, I can only ever finish about 1/3 of it (wish they sold 1/2 half serve) but it tastes so good, it's worth it!
Best and cheapest falafel I've ever had. Wraps with whatever you want in them $5.00. If you're looking for warm and welcoming, probably not the right place but if you're after cheap and delicious, then it's a must.
Really really delicious. Can't speak highly enough of everything I have tried. However- be prepared to wait at least 25 minutes for your food.
Yum yum yum! Just had the felafel meal. 6 felafels, tabouli, tomato, pickled veg, tzaziki, hommus & fresh pita for only $10! Delicious crispy felafels with a fluffy filling. Fresh and tasty - definitely recommend :)
Best falafels ever! And the bread is amazing! I could live of that bread alone!
Authentic cuisine. I love the food here. Always fresh and authentic. Best falafels... Fluffy and made on the spot.
Best falafels in Melbourne. I've been to Abbout's Falafel House twice now and walked away both times feeling absolutely satisfied. I'm a huge fan of falafels and this place now tops my list of places to have falafels. Not to mention how decently priced the food is.
Always come to this place with the family for breaakfast! good food. Nice restaurant consider trying there fafeel amazing
This place is so good that it is hard to even eat here. at lunch time ten people are normally waiting for one of the wonderful $5 falafel wraps (complete with fresh mint and pickles). it is more luxurious to eat in, surrounded by black and white marble and Lebanese pop videos, and get a $10 meal with the lot. they also serve a variety of other dishes like foul medammes, tsenyeh and little mince pastries. most dishes come with a complimentary side dish of pickles, chillies, mint and tomato. the falafel balls here are some of the best in Australia but the dish I have to recommend is the phenomenal eggplant salad with slivers of whole lemon, olives and fresh herbs.
It's great!. Awesome falafel - not many places make them so well. I've had so many floury, chewy, flavour-less falafel that this place makes me want to go back all the time! Delicious! It's a bit of a tie between here and Half Moon so give them both a go!
Cheap, Tasty, Healthier option. The falafel is pretty good here but not as good as half moon's around the corner. The price of food here is reasonable, serving sizes generous & it offers takeaway or indoor dining in options with comfortable modern decor. Service is on the slow side which is my only complaint but they are always friendly.
Ive started going here a fair bit & really like the food. The falafel is better at half moon but I'd rather come here & avoid the streams of pretentious wanna be food critics that seem to taint the half moon experience - especially on a Sunday.
Best falafel!. I love the food at this place. The falafels are the best I've had outside my mum's kitchen and the other food is very authentic and super tasty.
The atmosphere is quite casual and service is not amazing, but the delicious food more than makes up for it all.
Slow service... best breakfast in Coburg. Best felafel I've ever had nice flavour crispy exterior with a lovely soft texture inside. They come served with beautiful homemade lebanese bread and salads, pickles etc. A nice thing to have for breakfast is the chickpea and yoghurt with broken pieces of overcooked lebanese bread in the bottom - interesting flavours and textures.
On the service it is just slow and kind of disinterested, but I know it isn't personal because I have been there with a couple of muslim brothers each time I've visited - which is probably why I don't know what anything is called (except felafel of course) as I've never seen a menu. Foel springs to mind as being something to order. Just go in and ask for some felafels, salads, pickles, breads and a bowl of the yoghurt and chickpea stuff (maybe called foel) - see photo.
They must be getting even more popular too because they have taken up the space next store - I guess it is better than climbing those stairs at the back.
Something about Abbout. I knew nothing about this compact little shop, but felt like something healthy for a change, so decided to try them out instead of the nearby kebab shop.
Abbout Falafel House serves up a creditable falafel wrap loaded with fresh salads, pickles & accompaniments. Best of all their falafel wraps are a mere $5, and quite generously proportioned.
In addition to falafel wraps, there's a nice range of traditional Middle Eastern vegetarian fare on offer including foul (ful medames), musabaha, hummus, labneh & tese'yeh.
There are a handful of tables surrounding the servery, and a mezzanine level at the rear providing additional seating.
Never disappoints, this place is definitely No. 1 for falafel..... Fresh and delicious. Back after a while and still good as ever.
And special thank you to Betty for the excellent service.

They have the best food in Melbourne, hands down! If you're looking for Middle Eastern cuisine, this is the place to be. My family has been frequenting this eatery for a long time and always has very positive feedback about the food and quality of their service.
We recently tried their breakfast, and it was amazing. One of their staff, Betty, was particularly very helpful and provided excellent service to us.
Highly recommended.
I love this place, it's welll priced, great quality food. The staff are lovely as well. It seems they have changed hands but the new management have kept the quality and great service. Try the Fatah it's amazing
Absolutely delicious food, cannot rate it highly enough. Staff are also great too. Only wish the open hours were a bit later so I could buy more often after work, they close at 5pm. Otherwise, so good!
Their falafel wrap is always consistently good and so affordable. Don't skip the chili sauce, it really adds to the wrap. Plenty of vegan options.
OK to all who might of had a bad experience in the past Trust me you need to come back I think theres new owners and they are doing a bloody good job!!! Fresh food, hot,on time it's filling and it's worth the $$$ but I do consider going back to old prices a little cheaper, I am so glad I came with my family today they had a great time great customer service so generous I really hope you guys keep the good work up. In the bathrooms just keep tissues other then that keep the good food with good service... ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I grew up on Hummus and falafel all my life. This is the best Musabaha and falafel I have in Australia. Musabaha made on the spot, the falafel cooked on request and all the salads are so fresh. The moment you walk in, you been treated like a family. A small authentic place with a huge heart.
