Review Gr Kebab - Coburg

The best Kebab with Coffee
Eatenbymae
We had the pork belly and coleslaw as well as the scotch fillet panini. The flavours were good but we would've preferred the bread to be hot as well. The service was lovely and friendly. We are unable to get takeaway as we used zomato gold. Such a pity as we will be there more often if we can get takeaway as we live just round the corner.

Great servings of food. My mates got themself the grandma, the prosciutto and I got myself the steak panini. They were massive and extremely filling. As a side, I got the loaded fries to share and the owner warned me that it’s a lot of food, thinking that I bought the fries just for myself. 🤪 they could definitely do better with their coffees but who cares, you ought to visit for a panini and a cold brew instead!

Great lunch spot! Quick and friendly service! Chicken cottalete panini is a personal fav. Quiet and well worth the visit!

I was very excited to try Paninoteca and went out of my way to visit it but was left a little disappointed. My meal was definitely not bad, but not noteworthy. I tried the eggplant parm sandwich which was not saucy enough (in my opinion). The eggplant could have been crispier and the bread wasn't very nice. I did enjoy the addition of soft ricotta, however. Also tried some pecorino-dusted chips which were actually really nicely fried and seasoned and a good size for the price. My partner said his meatball sub was average, as was my soy flat white. The place was packed though, so perhaps my opinon is not shared by many, or I visited on an off day.

Not planning to come here for brunch at first but we were nearby on the way to Preston Market. So we just stop by for a quick meal and turns out it's a very satisfying delicious meal. Service was good. Coffee art is okay. Coffee was stronger that my hb likes it. But the sandwiches was superb! We both are meat lover so we order from the Grill menu. There is one scotch fillet with cheese, caramelized onion and rocket salad. So yummy! Next also with scotch fillet name The Grosso, if I remembered correctly. It's a huge size with lots of ingredients includes bacon, sausage, tomato, cheese, lettuce etc. It's delicious, messy, a bit too much going on inside my mouth when I was chewing it. Enjoy this too altho I prefer the other scotch fillet sandwich. Noticed that many customers come and go. My hb was happy and wanna come back again for the sandwiches.

Today we came here for the second time and ordered 2 sandwiches from The Grill menu. One kangaroo loin and the other is scotch fillet. It's so delicious and perfectly cooked. This is our favourite place to come and will definitely recommend our friends. Love it!

First time here and not the last, massive servings you won’t leave Hungry, three of us could have shared one serving of chips.
I had the scotch fillet panini, was so tender and yum!
Friends had the chicken cottoletta panini and the ‘Grosso guy’ which is basically all the meats in one, they absolutely loved. They also have Zomato gold which is a bonus :)

Solid paninis, can you really have enough Meatballs? Here, the answer is no. Tasty with every bite with authentic flavours and feel. Service tends to be friendly

Scott had a panini with two fried eggs and smoked pancetta, and I had a panini with potato and onion frittata and rocket (aka carbs on carbs). They were both very tasty and very humongous!! I was too nervous and barely finished half of my sandwich. We definitely could have just split one panini, which would have been extremely affordable ($10).

Absolutely fantastic!

Amazing panini, chips and arancini. Service was very friendly and extremely attentive to say the least - I also have to say how great it is to see the place full of memorabilia from Sicily!

Had a snitz roll for lunch today, and was very impressed. The chicken was cooked to perfection, and the roll was loaded with it. I was going to only eat half and save the other half for later, but couldn't stop myself. Nice to see staff were trained well, shop was very clean, and all staff wore gloves when touching food, and changed gloves when moving from meats to salads. Highly recommended. Definitely the best in the area and I've tried all of them.

Came in about 30 mins before closing and the staff was happy for us to past closure. Sangas were amazingly good, definitely recommend the deli choices as it is really balanced with the cheese. The big steak sandwich was loaded and good for a meat loving individual but it was definitely too much for me if I had that all to myself. Good thing was we shared between us.

5 dollar chips and drink is a rippa bargain, largest side of chips with sprinkled cheese topping and a good choice of San pellegrino is a must go. Well done guys, this is a definitely local favourite for hard workers down the street.

Paninoteca is hidden away in an industrial part of Coburg North, there’s no flashing lights or neon signs and if you drove past it you would probably miss it. If you walked past it though, you would be drawn in by the smell of authentic Italian food.

I came here on lunch one day and was blown away with the authenticity of this place. It smelled like Nonna’s house on a Sunday afternoon and it tasted like it too.

I ordered the Melanze (Eggplant) Panino, and for someone who normally hates Eggplant, I was blown away with the amazing taste. I could have gone back for more, but I didn’t because I got their chips too. The chips were covered in herbs and chilli flakes, these are what hit home for me, they tasted like home and that’s a very rare feat.

The outdoor area is quaint and ties into the authentic Italian theme with a blackboard that has Italian quotes written on it.

I would recommend this place to everyone, but especially to those who loved their Nonna’s cooking growing up. You won’t regret it.

Love it! Have had takeaway from here a few times and the panini have always been great.
This weekend we ate lunch there - had a polpette panini with side of chips.. they have the BEST hot chips, and the polpette would have to be one of my favourites on the menu.
Service was excellent and it was lovely sitting in their courtyard in the sunshine, before winter really sets in.
A local favourite.

You da boss, keep on truckin, I’m coming for breakfast now!!!!!! Love you ... needs to be 140 characters long, this should do it, nope, just a few more words

Can’t compliment this place enough. The service is amazing, the food is 10/10 every time. Value for money with huge panini with fresh and authentic ingredients- and amazing coffee. Never disappoints. Coburg gem!

We get food from here via UberEATS all the time. The chips are hands down the best in melbourne. Some sandwiches are a bit hit or miss, so order right. The chicken cotoletta is a winner.
Sandra Failla
Well I'm not going to go too much detail as I'll be here all day. Ordered a chicken cotoletta panino and a prosciutto one. Cotoletta was very ordinary to say the least and as for the prosciutto, it was exactly half a slice. People should educate themselves on exactly how panini should be made as this place is nowhere near!

I am giving a review on their coffee, I still have not tried any food yet but will soon ,it looks delicious and fresh . I'm always on the run and love my coffee ,as for their coffee it's brilliant,,the short machiatto I order is thick creamy robust ,,,lovely what else can I say
Well I finally had the chance to try the chicken cotoletta, thank god I did .its the equivalent to a chicken snitzell but better, the chicken was tasty and cooked to perfection ,the lettuce and tomato very fresh .it was overall very delicious ,so nice that I had to park the car and lick the wrapper 😋👌

An unassuming little cafe in Coburg, Paninoteca SpA dishes out some deliciously authentic Italian sandwiches.
With all the ingredients home made from scratch, including that delectable family recipe chicken cotoletta, as well as the perfectly cheesy ragu arancini, the food here definitely holds true to owner Robbie’s Italian heritage and undoubtedly made us reminisce of Southern Italy.

Great place!! The food here is very nice and we got a good vibe from the staff who were welcoming, very friendly and helpful. Good value, fresh tasty food, great coffee!! we will most definitely be returning..

This place is quality. There's no short cuts when it comes to the quality of produce. The homemade arancini are sensational and my god the hand cut chips with Parmesan.
Deana Cannatelli
Really cool little shop on Gaffney street. We got the San Daniel roll which was nice and fresh, although could have done with a little more filling due to the size of the roll - but the fillings itself were yum!!! It hasn't been overly busy when we've been, however the rolls took a while to come out. Overall it was a nice place to eat for a fresh local lunch!
Dinermelb
Cool shop and fit out.
The menu looked great, however the "scotch fillet" panini was not great.

I am all about paying $15 for a sandwich if it is top quality and packed with ingredient and flavor, but unfortunately there was slithers of fillings.

If you're going to give me a sandwich with nothing in it other than rocket, please adjust your prices or adjust the filling to reflect the price you are charging.
Kate Forrest
Love the concept and I loved the food initially but over time and after a few orders I've found that they have become stingier and stingier with the fillings. The last sandwich I ordered was really hard to get through because it was so dry due to the bread to fillings ratio. I hope they turn things around as they have the potential to be a real neighbourhood institution.

So glad this place has opened up right near my place. The food here is delicious! Great coffee and service too. Have been numerous times and can't fault them.

This place is actually the best! Such a hidden gem on Gaffney st, these guys create a top notch panini with no faults other than being too good..! The GF bread roll option is 100% too. The chips are primo (how do they make them so good?). I die. Bravo fella's, Nonna has taught you well. Wish you all the success, you deserve it!
Daniel Viola
Simple. Original. Beautiful.

The guys down at paninoteca have nailed the traditional Italian favourite! Many options from tasty classics (chicken cotoletta) to surprisingly delicious variations (kangaroo loin) makes this place the perfect local eatery. Combining this with the super friendly and efficient staff, why would you go anywhere else??!

This place is awesome!

The food is some of the best in the area and the pricing is very reasonable. The service from all the staff there is second to none! One of my favourite places in this area.
Kristian Cinquecento
These panini are the closest thing to being in Italy. Excellent service, price and authentic!
Recommend the porcetta panino and the parmesan chips!
Love the crema di cafe for desert!

Love! Love! Love!
Took the family in for lunch and wasn't disappointed.
3 of us had the pork and fennel sausage, marinated peppers and mayo, and my daughter had the pork belly and coleslaw, everything about the panini
was delicious. The absolute standout were the chips with grated pecorino. Greeted by friendly staff, food was delivered to our table very quickly. Do your self a favour and try this place, will definitely be back.

Paninoteca is defiantly a place you need to try! Their authentic Italian panini taste like they came straight from
Nonna's kitchen. The menu is full of variety, and the place is full of great vibes. Certainly a place to take the family or simply relax in the courtyard with friends.
Elisha Mancuso
Paninoteca has a wonderful vibe. I just love the food. The handmade arancini and hand cut chips are just delicious along with a fresh mediterranean panini. To finish off you must try the baked nutella & hazelnut panino with mascarpone for dessert. I loved the service quick and super friendly. I give Paninoteca 10/10. Cant wait to visit again soon!
Daniel Valenti
Awesome shop with fantastic food, coffee and staff! Cannot recommend this place more for a cheeky local lunch or dinner. Look out for the little Fiat out the front and go in and have a game of table soccer while waiting for your food.
Thomas Walkley
Awesome food and coffee. Ingredients are so fresh and a really wide variety of options. Coffee was really good also. Will be back soon for another one

I love this place! This hidden gem reminds me of the paninotecas in southern Italy. Delicious panini, my favourite has to be the melanzane. Throw in a chinotto and a game of briscola, you can't beat it!
Trent Skorsis
The food here is amazing and the coffee is even better, highly recommended with there staff being so welcoming also. Pistachio mortadella, smoked scarmoza and rucola panini was my favourite!
Cory Maranzano
Great food, great location, welcoming and friendly staff! I have tried many different options from the menu and have been amazed by the freshness and quality. Fantastic work guys keep it up!

I am a local and make sure that this is a regular weekend lunch spot - they make a killer panini! Chicken Cotoletta and Scotch Fillet are my personal favorites. Just a shame I don't work in the area or else I would be there during the week too!
Justine Marchitto
Delicious and fresh Panino's... you just can't get enough. I think I have visited Paninoteca at least three times now and haven't been disappointed. I have tried a different panino each time and all have been amazing! Not to mention the friendly staff and fabulous coffee ☕️

A 10/10 for me!! Great work Paninoteca I'll be coming back to try them all xx
Luke Belante
Quality Italian street food!! Unique panini and the staff were all very friendly. I tried the pork belly the first time I also tried schnitzel and the Italian sausage, they were all beautiful!! I'll definitely be going back again soon!!
Dave Servello
Absolutely delicious traditional italian street food. Flavorsome, good fresh produce. I have 1 massive problem with this place though and it's that i just can't choose between the pork belly or the scotch fillet! They're both too good! Staff are friendly and i'm always greeted with a smile.
Rebecca Medici
Perfect location, friendly staff and a great feed!

Must tries: Crema di Caffe and Prosciutto Panino!

Paninoteca never disappoints!
Anthony Mazzei
Went to Paninoteca a few weeks back and ate the Chicken Schnitzel sandwich. WOW! Fresh and soooo tasty! We also had the Creme di cafe and words cannot express the authentic taste of this magical desert!

Staff were great. Coffee was exactly the way I like it. Got my food really quick and overall experience was 10/10.

This might be a weekly visit for me.

(and the outdoor area is great on a beautiful summers day/night)
Greg Cusmano
Awesome layout, great location, insane coffee and salivate worthy rolls (Panini) with a great range.

I can't get enough of the Kangaroo - Italian Panin with an Aussie twist.

Always greeted with a smile here...
Enza Giardina
Delicious and fresh!! I enjoyed the meatball panino paired with my favorite pesca bbthe... i was in sicilian heaven. Can't wait to go back and try the prosciutto panino!

Recently visited with a some friends and everyone in our group was happy with their order. Super friendly staff and good quality food. Would recommend and will be back myself .
Laura Panzarino
This is traditional Italian food - as an Italian girl myself I can thoroughly say it's the best panini in Melbourne!!! I love the scotch fillet!!! Just enough to fill me up! I've been a few times and tried different panini and I have always been satisfied with my meal! And the coffee 😵👌👌is the best!
Thank you to the friendly staff for the wonderful service!! I'm so glad to have a panino place that's local it's awesome 👍👍👍
Adrian
Friendly staff, tasty dishes, good service, you can't go wrong!
The arancini and/or chips go great with any of the panini!
Adrian
Easily the best Panini in Melbourne. Takes me back to the motherland like no other meal! Buzzing atmosphere. Service, food and coffee are all top notch. Crema cafe to die for!
