I ordered the BBQ Pork and a large fried rice off an old menu. It was fairly expensive at $30 but they were big serves and they didnt skimp. Well worth it. I had a good meal and have some great leftovers for tomorrow.
Went to Chung's Kitchen for the first time 2 weeks ago and was really very impressed - I had the Combination Seafood Claypot - yum - and the size of the prawns was amazing - sweet, tender and very generous portion of combination seafood and veg braised in Oyster Sauce. Took 3 friends this evening and they were all really impressed. Everything was very fresh and tasty and portion sizes were great - we were all able to take a bit home to enjoy again tomorrow! Would definitely recommend Chung's. Friendly and accommodating staff too!
Our local Chinese takeaway.
This little pocket always delivers on time with fast tasty chinese. Can be a little oily at times though delivers the goods 8/10 times.
Not to shabby for cheap and cheerfull chinese Not the best but not the worst.
Worth a try.👍
My family was very happy when this place came under new management, chef and menu as we have yet to find a local Asian restaurant we like.It is better than the other local ones but still not fantastic. We have only been twice though and are still trying dishes.
Special Fried Rice large $12. Quite good both times, good ratio of everything.
Curry Fish $16.50. Coral Trout they tell us.Good ratio of fish to veggies.Nice.
Szechuan Chilli Beef $14.50. Bit stingy on this-not a full container, see 2nd photo. Not too bad though with fresh veggies.Meat is soft.
Honey Chilli King Prawns $18. Fantastic! Big,fresh, juicy. The winner of the dishes. Will buy again and again.
Fried Chilli Pepper Chilli Wings $7.50.Large,still juicy but can't taste chilli or pepper.
Fried chicken with Salt & Chilli $14.50 ( small pieces like popcorn)-cant taste chilli but very salty.
Chicken Kway Teow $13.50. Ok but noodles a bit overcooked and too soft.Chicken pieces all breast which may be too dry for some people but fine by me.Average.
Overall this place is acceptable but with the last lot on 27th Sep i found the fried chicken dishes tasted as though the oil was really old and too much meat had been cooked in it over and over.A bit unpleasant.
ordered on Sunday 11 oct- garlic chicken-a bit over cooked.vegies still crisp.Family liked it,i didn't-thought it had an unusual taste that i can't explain-maybe garlic from a jar?
egg fried rice (last picture).ok but didn't have any more egg than the special fried rice.
We went along with a group of ten. We ordered ten mains and a few special fried rice. Excellent service. Excellent food.
Sep 2017
Went back again with another group of ten. We took 7 main course recommendations form the chef, and were thrilled with the service and the standard of the fare. Group fave was the Fillet Beef, with the Clay Pot Brisket and King Prawns coming close behind.
Chung's is excellent - get it in your belly!
Well done Chung's. We'll be back!!
Best Chinese south of the river. I live in Bertram and have been waiting almost 2 years for a descent chinese place to open. Well that times has finally come. Loved it the first time, loved it the second time and I'm pretty sure I will love it every time from now onwards. Does not break the bank and is very tasty. No need to ever go back to Bertram Chinese.
Awsome little place fast service and even better food.
Local chinese, multiple successful takeaways, first time dining in.
Venue is minimalistic, cosy and clean.BYO,wine glasses were given and got asked by the lovely staff if we would like glasses for the beer.Water was brought out without having to ask.Great start.
Had spring rolls,s+p squid, satay lamb, garlic prawns, beef with oyster sauce and special fried rice.Garlic prawns were great as usual, satay lamb came out sizzling which added a bit of showmanship, although s+p squid was beautiful,a mate though we would be getting the tentacles rather than squid rings. This varies depending where we eat.Beef had lots of meat+veg.
Would have loved fried ice cream, have had it for Take away a few times, but we were full...
A great night,$80 for 4 ppl with enough for lunch for 2 ppl.
Might dine in rather than take away, same cost and feels like you are going out.
Great Service & Good food. The food from Chung's is authentic and consistently good. I love the mongolian beef, the salt and pepper squid and the kway teow, they are exceptional! The young girl who works out the front is always friendly and happy to help with anything different or extra we need. The customer service makes it a pleasure to order rather than having the miserable/ bad attitude wait staff you often find. Restaurant seems to be getting busier every time I collect my takeaway which has to be a good sign. Try it!
Loved the food. We ordered takeaway from Chung's Kitchen last night. The lady who took my order over the phone and who was at front reception when I picked up the order was very friendly. The food was delicious, all dishes were cooked well using fresh ingredients. We ordered Honey Chicken, Garlic King Prawns, Satay Beef & Special Fried Rice. The prawns and beef had alot of vegies in them which was really good. Will definitely be back.
We have ordered food from here several times now and have enjoyed every time. My favorite, I would have to say the chicken curry with boiled rice. delicious!!!!!!
Delicious chineese food. Went there last night for dinner, the place was nicely decorated and had a warm positive energy about it, free BYO, the staff were polite and professional, down to the important stuff, the food was fresh and tasty, all the classics, sweet sour pork, satay beef, combination, and bbq pork, dessert, deep fried ice cream, the best, would give this place a 9/10 great food
Just dined in at chungs, very quiet room only about 4 tables I'll start with the food, we shared steamed dumplings, springrolls and prawn fritters all were very light, fresh, tasted home made ( but who knows sometimes) and very tasty!!! Next we shared, sizzling garlic squid- so yummy, squid was tender and lots of fresh veg, Mongolian beef, again full of taste tender lamb and no msg sauce smothered all over it, plum pork this too was very tasty the 4th we tried was lemon chicken- the only dish of the night that was a miss- it was thigh - I prefer breast, and the sauce was just too sweet and thick all in all I would highly recommend their Chinese $90 for 4 who can complain, oh and probably the only reason I'll take it away next time NO toilets in the whole complex!!!! Lucky we lived close and went home instead of lingering
Great Value and Great food. I have had the pleasure of both dining in at Chung's Kitchen and ordering take out. I know that a lot of people were concerned about the waiting time for take out on the first weekend. Yes, they were longer than average, but when we went to collect ours the queue was out of the door and the phone was ringing non stop. We certainly decided to give the place a break considering it is only just finding it's feet. Long wait aside, the food was fantastic. I have had several great meals since (waiting no more than 25 minutes) and I would recommend to anyone. The portion sizes are enormous, the food tastes great and its excellent value for money.
Friendly staff. Tasty but a little bit salty. A lot of choices. Happy to visit again. Thanks.
Always friendly and delicious food 😀
Love Chungs, have been coming here since we moved to Aubin Grove about 3 years ago! I love that the fried dishes (Lemon chicken/Sweet & Sour Pork) have the sauce in a different container, keeps it nice and crispy, I always get extra sauce!
Love this place been going to it now for 2 years, best chinese I have found. Bloke is nice and polite behind the counter. I would highly recommend the Satay Chicken, Fried Rice and Lemon Chicken - just ask for more lemon sauce :) Food is great and always yummy, never had a bad experince.
Would recommend.
Customer service was amazing as first timers - met the cooks and were very friendly and polite. Food was outstanding. Bit pricey but totally worth it!
