Review Casay On The Beach - Coffs Harbour

Extremely overpriced food of below average quality. Every main costs around $45, so you would expect them to be pretty good (spoiler: they’re not). The fish was okay, but nowhere near brilliant enough to be worth $44. The angus eye fillets ($48/ea) were over-cooked. The kids meal we ordered was lacking enough sauce for the amount of rice. I’ve had $10 goon bags that were better than the $40 bottle of wine we ordered. My dessert was nice but still not worth $15 (I had the “Mango parfait coconut sorbet”). The ice-cream that came with the kids meal tasted like a Maccas soft serve that had been left out in the sun for a day before re-freezing it. We ordered two “Chocolate & hazelnut meringues” and the presentation between them was inconsistent. I didn’t try them but was told they weren’t very good. The service was fine, and the location was nice.

My husband and I had dinner at Casay on Saturday night and we were extremely disappointed. The service was the worst one, asking for water was a battle. The guy walked us to the table and left, no one cared about our present, so we sat there and waited for 30 minutes. Eventually, my husband called a waitress and so we were able to order. The beer wasn't served in a glass. The waitress said she would bring us some water, but she didn't. We waited and waited, then we had to ask them again for water. The food was over priced but the quality was just standard I got the oysters and the pork belly. The oysters had a few bits of shelves in them but lucky that my teeth weren't damaged. The pork belly was below the average, the skin was tough and chewy , not crunchy at all. My husband got the Angus beef steak ($48), it was standard. We would definitely not go back and not recommend it to anyone.

We had a wonderful dinner at Casay on the Beach on the 21st of January. We felt ourselves very lucky, as for the rest of our stay at Annuka Beach Resort the restaurant was closed due to staff shortages. The food was absolutely wonderful, the staff were marvellous and the whole atmosphere was relaxed. I would certainly recommend Casay on the Beach

I dined out at Casay On The Beach at BreakFree Aanuka Beach Resort in Coffs Harbour on my first night as my friends are getting married and the cuisine and beverage have been amazing. Starting from Happy Hour cocktails by pit fire al fresco through to 3 course dining indoors, my dining experience has been memorable with excellent service. I enjoyed the Blue Spanner Crab Papadelle with a glass of Earthworks Barossa Valley Shiraz followed by Wild Baramundi with Vietnamese Slaw and Nahm Jim and closing with Pineapple Carpaccio, my dinner was truly exciting and delicious. Highly recommended with distinction!

Had dinner here with a 7pm booking, the table wasn’t completely set and we had to ask for napkins… they had run out of one of the mains already and the wait we had for our meals was a joke, the meals themselves were under average, nothing at all to get excited about, not what we expect at a restaurant with these prices, the cost of the meals for what they were was unjustified.. my husbands beer was in a bottle not even served in a glass… We spent the same money the night before at another restaurant and got blown away by the staff, the surrounds, the food presentation and every dish we had was impeccable… we heard another couple complaining and then they had 2 staff hovering over them the whole night. We don’t go out often but when we do we pay good money and expect good service and good food and this didn’t rate at all…very very disappointing, maybe you shouldn’t have reopened

Great resort but the restaurant needs work. Limited menu, prices are expensive. A few years back this place was great! The food was nice but small portion. Expected more from such a great resort.

Great location and views from the dining areas. Beach vista for afternoon cocktails hard to beat.

Really didn’t enjoy the food at all. Each dish was covered with a heavy sauce and seemed to have been pre cooked and just reheated ..... felt ill after the heavy meal. The location is great, the service is less than average
