Review Gai Thai - Coffs Harbour

This is without a doubt one of my favourite Thai restaurants in Australia. The food and setting is very good. The waiter/manager is just fabulous in every way! Highly recommended! I book my sales trip to coincide with being in Coffs in the evening especially for this place :)

Food was fairly good, but was great value for price, portion size was excellent and taste was good, the owner or manager was not that sure of himself it seems and real Australian, not what you would expect to greet you in a Thai restaurant... Over all the experience was a good one. Would I go again to this restaurant? Yes I would..

Place is vietnamess. A few Thai dishes but dont expect to be authentic. Seems to be family biz and if you are rushing, dont go there as you need to wait so long for food to arrive at the table. Service also below average you need to waive your hands a few time before getting their only 1&half waiter/waitress attention. Price also higher than other places I won't come back here

Very poor, we had to wait at the bar and wait after being seated; then had the wrong drinks delivered to our table and the food was awful and not recognisable as the dishes we ordered. We then had the cook come and explain that this was their version of satay chicken but that did not go down well with us as paying customers. Would not recommend.

I can't recommend this restaurant, the food was very average, it's Vietnamese food with a few Thai dishes and not authentic in taste, there was 6 people in our group and none of us will be going back, we sweated are butts of because they didn't have the air-con turned on. Disappointed....

I have been coming here while on business trips for the past two years. I have eaten a lot of Thai food, and being from Sydney have lots of exposure to good Thai food. This is the best and most authentic I have ever eaten in my 50+ years. I highly recommend it, Gregg

Super tasteless Thai. We were told about this wonderful Thai food served there. We arrived and found they have outdoor seating. We ordered the 2 person banquet($45), they have a bar and also B.Y.O, the 3 courses arrived.. The homemade spring rolls were overcooked as were the King Prawn wraps($9.80) both dripped with oil. The King Pawn wraps had an unusual flavour we both didn't enjoy. The two main dishes a chicken green curry and a beef in oyster sauce served with boiled rice were both flavorless and both had few veges, just carrot, beans, a bit of capsicum, snow peas and lots of onion in both. They serve chilled water in a chafe free of charge to wash down your meal, thank goodness. We both felt the main meal wasn't worth eating and called the manager. To her credit she understood our complaints and accepted $20 to cover the entrees we did eat.. The staff are friendly the service was quick. We'll not go back till we hear they have a new chef who knows how to cook 'real' Thai food, as they used to do there.

Wonderful, polite, efficient service. The food was fresh and delicious, looked exactly like the pictures. Enjoyed a lovely dinner!

Gai Thai is a suburban family-owned Thai restaurant in midst of a country town. The restaurant operates from a residential house with western wallpaper and Thai decorations.
