Review Greenhouse Tavern - Coffs Harbour

Great food and friendly staff. Food and drinks are reasonably priced. Trivia is on every Thursday night but not listed on the website. The only thing I was disappointed with was the menu on the website is different to the current menu. If Greenhouse Tavern could fix this up that would be great as the two items I picked before I arrived were not on the printed menu and not available.

Have to say. I came 10 minutes before closing the kitchen so good to know that the bar is open till 0000 but the kitchen closed at 2100. Anyway the salad I ordered was fresh, full, and most of all tasty! The staff were so friendly and kind.

I ordered the rump (medium rare) with mash, veg & Dianne sauce. Serving sizes were good. Customer service was great. Good family atmosphere. The steak was closer to medium but was still tender.

Very popular place! Great area for kids, was full with a party when we were there so only got to look at it, the food is great, can order from your table via the QR code on the table or order at the counter. Pleasant staff and considering the place was pretty busy at 5pm, the wait for our meals was not long at all. Very organised. Plenty of parking. Highchairs available

Amazing service and nice food. The drinks are well priced and they even lets try the wines! Fried chicken burger was awesome, it was like the KFC in Asia (which is infinitely better than KFC in Australia). The steak was very nice, but a little undercooked. Would definitely be back again

Went there today for lunch. Fantastic food. Senior prices and kid's meals available. Highly recommend the chef's salad I included the grilled chicken. My parents enjoyed the schnitzel my husband the rump steak and my son had a burger. We had a lovely time. I've given it 4 star's because of the noise any atmosphere is lost due to this. But otherwise it's a beaut place for a bite to eat and a drink. They have a beautiful kid's areas near outside seating unfortunately there were quite a few kids today so inside was quiter (not by much). Edit 19th March 2022 A few years have passed since my last review. I have been back many times. The food is always great. It's still noisy but you can still hold a conversation. The tables now have me&u digital online table ordering if that suits you. Scan the QR code with your phone and you don't have to leave your seat. I didn't order through it but I did scan the code to have a look. I'm impressed I'll definitely give it a try next time.

A spur of the moment top meal and so glad we did.... Happy to accommodate to make changes for a vegan meal. Loved viewing the turtles and eels in the waterway below. Definately will be back!

The food was excellent and service was great. As an afterthought we decided to get a dessert, caramel cheesecake. The best caramel cheesecake ever, it totally eclipsed the meal, the wine - it was awesome.

Came on Saturday night with my hubby and 2 kids spent half an hour in the queue and half the menu not available due to ovens broken down. Kids couldn't get pasta which was diasterous. Reasonable value buy one adult meal get kids meal for free, however it didn't include the beverage which cost $2.30 making the deal less favourable. Usually when I take my kids for a kids eat free and if the deal includes a drink you usually receive it. E.g hogs breath kids meals include drink and ice cream you receive it all. It just meant I had to wait another 20 minutes at the bar so probably would not visit again. My meal was actually very nice I had the grazier steak.

Fast service and friendly bar staff. There is three - four different areas you could eat at. Food was very nice and a family orientated Hotel. Car parking was easy to get in and out of. I can not fault this establishment. Will come back again next time we are on holidays and will recommend it to our friends at home.

OVERPRICED meals that were revolting !!! I found a hair in my food. The Angus Beef burger makes you realise Hungry Jacks does have better burgers. The meat patty needed a steak knife to cut through it. Gordon Ramsey would be horrified ! The steak was tough & chewy & inedible. Disgusting !!!!! Food has gone downhill since I last ate here & I will NEVER be returning to purchase an overpriced crap meal again.

We just enjoyed our Christmas meal here. Visiting from Sydney. So lovely not to have to cook clean wash up etc. Very reasonable price for the quantity and quality of food available. Desserts to die for. Thank you so much to all the staff who worked today. We greatly appreciate your efforts.

Went to have dinner with friends and we were refused service because none of us were over 25.. we have all eaten there together before and havent been refused. Very disgraceful..

Went with my husbsnd for lunch. Didnt wait in line long. Fast service at the bar. We both enjoyed the food so yummy and good price.

Still good place to eat for cheap meals although must admit quality has slipped lately

had dinner with friends on the 21lst of July I ordered the chicken parmigiana it wasn’t very nice at all,my friend and I tried to begin come numbers but couldn’t because the printer wasn’t working or he couldn’t get it to work I won’t be back anytime soon

Had our Christmas Day lunch at the Greenhouse,wow what a meal , everything about it was great. Will be back again next Christmas

The food is tremendous. Especially after the start we have had to the holiday. The meals are excellent sized, value for money and tastes amazing. Could not fault it at all.

We were tired and wanted a good feed. We found it here. Good food, reasonable price, cold drinks and space and equipment for the kids to use. A relaxing meal. Added to a great trip. Thanks

Very disappointing evening at the Greenhouse Tavern. i should have taken note of other reviews I read. Food ok but terrible service and extremely rude staff. We went with our extended family of 10 on Boxing Day. Was told we could not place order for more than 8 meals at once so we had to do separate 2 orders and our food then consequently came out at all different times (some of our group finished whilst others were still waiting on meals). We had to wait for an hour for our meals even though the place was only one third full and when we finally went to order dessert at 8:33pm we were told that the kitchen had closed 3min earlier. When we politely suggested that perhaps in future they could advise customers that the kitchen is closing at 8:30 when people are ordering meals or put up a sign or something to advise customers, all we got was a shrug and indifference from the manager and a whinge that it was a public holiday and they had been really busy night and they had enough of demanding customers and It was too bad we missed the kitchen. Like wow. Ever think that maybe if you have a lot of demanding customers it is because you are doing something wrong?

Bardziej stołówka niż restauracja. Klimatyczne miejsce to raczej nie jest ale jedzenie było ok. Po przybyciu na miejsce nie spodziewałam się niczego nadzwyczajnego. Bardzo długo czekaliśmy w kolejce żeby zamówić jedzenie, znacznie krócej czekaliśmy żeby zamówienie odebrać. Przy tak dużej liczbie klientów jedzenie było dość szybko podane. Mąż zamówił steka który był smaczny i zrobiony dokładnie jak sobie zażyczył (medium-well). Ja zamówiłam sałatkę sweet potato z wołowiną. spodziewałam się że mięso będzie ciepłe było jednak zimne i trochę gumowate. Taka sobie restauracja nie najgorsza nie najlepsza. Jeśli nie ma nic innego w okolicy to można skorzystać ale jakbym miała wybór następnym razem poszłabym gdzie indziej. Budżetowe jedzenie, budżetowa jakość.

After having a chicken schnitzel the day before, we looked online for some cheap eats. We saw that Greenhouse Tavern does $11 meals. As it was a Thursday night, they offered either a Chicken Schnitzel or Yearling Beef Schnitzel on their website. We made the drive and found the tavern. From the outside, it looks run down. And the beer garden/smoking area that you have to walk through was not much better. <br/><br/>Their dining area is huge, with outdoor and inside areas. When we arrived there were not too many people there and a few staff walking around. As we already knew what our order was, we ordered at the counter. Service was not overly friendly but wasn't horrible either. When we ordered we asked for the Beef schnitzel but were told emphatically that they do not serve beef schnitzels. I was taken aback at the remark and panic ordered the chicken schnitzels. I did not think until later that I should have mentioned the website. Oh well. <br/><br/>We ordered two chicken schnitzels and a cheesy garlic bread. We got to a table and realised that no tables are set. They have a rather uninspiring bench where you grab cutlery, napkins, sauce, salt and pepper sachets. Being the amount of staff, unsure why they couldn't set tables or at the least have shakers. The bread came out really quickly. The buzzers that you are given are really loud. I mean screaming at you loud. I grabbed the garlic bread and sat down. I was able to have a bite of the bread when the screaming buzzer went off again. If you miss the buzzer going off then there could be a concern! The chicken was a decent size considering the price. As we have dined at a few places in Coffs recently, lots of places do the very cheap meals. The chicken was nice and moist, and was a good meal. The disappointing part of the meal was the service considering the amount of staff idly walking around. It doesn't take much to do the little things. <br/><br/>
