Review Golden Crown Chinese Restaurant - Coffs Harbour

I’m always hesitant to give low ratings but in this case I feel it is deserved. This was the worst Chinese meal I have ever ordered. We had been looking forward to a Chinese meal while on holiday. Everything, from the spring rolls to the fried rice was either bland or overly salted. The vegetables were over-cooked and the sauces were thick and gluggy. Some of the frozen items (eg. prawns) were still cold in the middle. There was a very strong smell of fryer oil due to poor ventilation. The staff were indifferent and looked like they would rather be somewhere else. It was just so disappointing, especially given the prices being asked. Avoid.

The lack of patrons should have been a sign but I was hungry. Pay $3.50 extra for soft noodles (they must be hand carved) in combination chowmien, then didn't even get soft noodles, too late to go back by the time I'd driven away and sat down to eat. Chowmien is either cutting edge or just wierd, gratted carrots? .59c for eftpos and no chopsticks. Plenty of better places to eat.

Very basic stuff, the menu outside is very different from the one given to me inside the soy sauce belongs in a museum. We ordered bbq pork in plum sauce and got crispy pork in plum sauce. Was not that bad if I'm being honest. The restaurant was a bit dusty.

The most awful Chinese restaurant i have been to. The price is far too high and the dishes are literally disgusting. Roast duck is very salty. The hot pot has the same favor with chicken with cashu. The chicken is still raw in side and the prawn is very fishy, taste like raw rotten fish. Don't come!!! I rather starve

There are no words to describe how disgusting the food was at this restuarant. I have never tasted chinese food so vile and disgusting. Was too scared to eat the food incase we got sick. After just three mouthfuls of food I felt ill. Waiter was rude and coughing no covering of mouth when coughing. My recommendation is dont even take a seat in this restaurant. Save your $ and go to any of the other nice restaurants on the row if restuarants. There simply is nothing nice to say about this place. Eat at own risk

Can’t understand the other reviews, easily the best duck meal in Coffs by a mile. Owner is friendly and works fast. Seems like a lot of the other reviews are from Sydney folk used to yuppie food. Good Chinese/Australian food. Will be back for sure.

Disgusting is too good a word for this place. The food was terrible. We were charged for chopsticks at a Chinese restaurant!! And they were the reusable type as well. Oh, let's not forget the charge for the chilli sauce, which came in a the size of a table spoon. The mains weren't big enough for a child's menu let alone an adult. The main was also so salty it was unbelievable. We were asked how the meal was when the owner was standing right there, when we told them, he just snorted and smiled and kept on walking. To top it off, being boxing day, they charged us $3 per person as a surcharge. Now we understand that, but how about telling us before we sit down. When we mentioned that to the owner, he just said its what they do. My wife and I stood outside for a while telling people to keep on walking and how terrible this place was in front of the owner. Abhorrent food and abhorrent service. Having eaten Chinese food in every city I visit around the world, this one is definitely the worst.

The worst Chinese we have ever had. Firstly when we ordered we were served by a female that was sick and coughing all over everything, then when the food was served we were very disappointed, And then lastly when I tried to give the manager feedback he laughed in my face and said he doesn't have time for this he needs to cook food. I regret paying for our food, it was disgusting how we were treated....

Great restaurant! As a vegan, I wouldn't think to go to a Chinese restaurant. However, the staff were super flexible and accommodating, and my meal was absolutely delicious. Our server Di was so warm and friendly. Loved it!

food and experience was terrible tonight. Was witness to abusive language from the chef and a customer who complained. Chef tried to fight complaining customer in front of a table with two young girls. I was scared girls were going to get hurt. We left so disgusted.
