We had breakfast on Easter Monday. The meal was scrumptious and delicious! Cosy atmosphere with friendly owners. Delectable dishes on the menu. So glad we walked into The Farmer’s Son during our stop at Colac.
Very least little place. Centrally located, reasonable prices and helpful service. They have a great gluten free range. Highly recommended. $14 vege fritter and salad. Good value.
Just had breakfast at The Farmers Son. Great breakfast excuse the started half serve photo. Just wanted you to how big the half serve was. They were very accomodating and the price was good not like most places that say they will do a half serve and give a dollar off! Coffee was great too thanks!
Excellent cafe for breakfast or lunch. Really good wraps, fresh daily specials and good coffee.
With a dainty hipster style athmosphere, this cafe started a new trend in the boring cafe food that is Colac. The owner is always in store and remembers regular customers by their name. The food is fresh, yummy and falls between modern and country style. Salads are amazing, tasty and very creative or if you are after something more - include some in a wrap with a thai meatball. And top it off with a deadly-tasty brownie at the end.
Family sized home made meat pies are also available if you suddenly realised you forgot to organise dinner for the family.
Local cheese, meats and platter style goodies are available too.
Get to lunch early, as this place fills up with customers quickly.
Best cafe in Colac. Great food, good coffee.
Really good coffee and pies. This place is now called Farmer's son.
A friendly atmosphere. I came to this cafe for breakfast with 4 friends. Coffees were nice. Breakfast was good, simple and tasty. I love the pictures on the way too.
Cute spot on the main Colac strip. Stopped in after seeing the review in The Age Under $30 guide. The Farmer's Wife didn't disappoint; friendly staff, good brunch-type food with fresh ingredients and filling although not overwhelming in size. Enjoyed the egg and onion tart, as well as the egg and avocado on toast. Really nice coffees as well. Will come back!
I like this cafe's concept I just wish they were more consistent with their food quality. Had a great meal and a another I could not eat because it was too salty. Last visit the cafe looked like it needed a really good clean! Come on guys...you have a great cafe but don't drop the ball!
Open Good Friday eating tuna salad lunch ! great vibe good people and they will be open Monday as well!
Drove through Colac on my back to Melbourbe and thought I'd stop here. Eggplant lasagne was delicious! Decor is supposed to be like that- its so funky and not outdated as some reviewers have suggested. I'd be coming here everyday if I lived here! Love it!
Gone down-hill......but back up again. I used to love this place but standards have been slipping lately, to the point where I'm reluctant to go back. Service is disorganised, slow and sometimes surly. Many times recently I've gone there specifically to buy a delicious home-made pie only to find them sold out between 12 and 1. There are only so many times you can be disappointed before you finally give up. This makes me sad as I used to think this was the most exciting place to hit Colac in a long time.
Update: The Wife is back in town! They really seem to have got into a rhythm now so I'm back on the band wagon. Great food, great coffee and friendly service
What a pleasant find in Colac! Was just passing through and I'm so glad we came in here! The food was absolutely fantastic - tasty and fresh. Wish this place was in Melbourne!!
This farmers wife knows how to cook! Country cooking with an interesting twist. A little gem for lunch or coffee and cake
Yum! What a fabulous place for Colac! Good coffee, fresh produce, and inviting decor. I left with a jar of kasundi - it's amazing!!!
Located along the town centre area, a nice homy cafe to warm yourself up or meet up with friends. For travellers like myself, it's a good place for a stop and have a meal before heading out again 🤠
Great pie nice chunky fillings of meat . Fresh coleslaw . Nice gooey cheese in the toastie . Great coffee balanced taste. The Apple pie feels home made . The apples feels fresh not canned . Thanks you the nice meal. A nice stop on our way back to Melbourne.
Lovely cafe with nice friendly service. We ordered the smashed avocado salad and the Garryowen breakfast. Overall food is above average however we would have liked it if the bacon was slightly more crispy.
