As far as country pubs go, this ticks all the boxes. Pokies-free, and a little off the beaten track, meals are consistently decent quality, and great value. The Vegetarian usually has a choice of at least two or three options, and while there are unlikely to be awards given for innovation, the fire-side warmth of the relatively quiet dining area is the perfect setting for their comfort-food offerings.

$15 steal nights on a Thursday - am yet to have my meat cooked other than the way I've ordered (rare). Substantial size and quality for what you pay. Are able to cater to larger groups. I dearly hope this place doesn't change!
Colac East Hotel. Hard to believe that Colac has a great Pastry Chef, so I will start with sweets, I ordered Pear Tart and it was amazing, can't wait to go back to try some more deserts. I also ordered a steak Med Rare - perfectly cooked and others ordered Roast Beef, Fish and Chips (tempura batter) all good. Food was fantastic, staff were great and very attentive to detail. Highly recommend their East Parma - a very different twist, and the Self-saucing sticky date pudding.
Excellent team excellent food. One of the female wait staff can remember our drinks, and meals, even when we have not been in for months. Great Aussie pub meals.
Went to dinner with the family and from the first step in the door the service from staff fantastic the meals to which we had were all different and spot on could not fault food or service the bar staff again could not fault you would be hard pressed to find something better well done by all staff who make it a very pleasing place to eat out
Unpretentious, well-crafted pub fare with very fresh salad, quality veg and excellent chips. Very enjoyable. Cheerful staff.
Shhh this is the place the locals don’t want you to know about. The staff are so friendly the moment you walk through the door they make you feel like a local. The food is generous and delicious, with a range or meals everyone can enjoy. We had the creamy chicken pesto and deviled Kiev. Both fantastic and portions that will satisfy anyones appetite. Good wines to choose from too. Must visit when in Colac!
As good a pub grub as you could expect served hot by friendly staff.
Lambs Fry and Roast Lamb shoulder will bring us back.
Warning! The garlic cheese bread is plentiful, filling and delicious.
