Very pleasant place, staff, wine, food and clean facilities. That was March 2022. Went to Chandon again in May 2022. The consistency of service, friendly attitude and terrific food is remarkable. The Autumn colours of the vines bring a somewhat Chery atmosphere to the scenery on a rather dull but mild day. Peps you up really as do the Autumn leaves on the trees. Had some Oysters this time before a generous Charcuterie board. You don't have to go to the Peninsula to get fresh Oysters, they were as fresh as can be. Ah, Chandon tasting board, Oysters, Chandon wines, serene outlook. Wonderful.

A stunning venue, and the view is something else. Service was impeccable, we were late and missed our tasting appointment but the hostess kindly accommodated us in the lounge. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable.

Was here on 5 Jun 2022, lunch hours. Duck cooked to perfection. Nice sparkling red wine. Would have been a perfect score it the Lamb wasn't overcooked.

Great sparkling sampling tour and had 3 course menu, really enjoyed it with the awesome view’s Would definitely comeback sometime sooner or later Thanks Much for the service!

Beautiful views, very swish building and outfit. But if you think about it the selection of drinks is limited... Book ahead and bring your wallet!

Such a stunning space! Food was great and the oyster were super fresh (coming from someone who doesn’t usually/ever eat oysters). If you don’t dine at the restaurant, you should order a cheese/meat platter and enjoy the outdoor area.

Beautiful restaurant with breath taking views outside. Food is lovely and the management is well prepared for larger groups. I came here for a 25th birthday celebration, now I want my 25th here too! I guess it would be perfect if there is a private outdoor area where a group of us can dine and enjoy the sun while drinking wine😍

đŸ˜±Lizzie’s first impression: Best views, great seating area, good alcohol.

đŸ©Lizzie enjoyed: I love this place so much - they have beautiful views and honestly one of the best ones up in Yarra Valley. Their sparkling wines are all delicious - especially the Cuvee riche. It is not super sweet but tastes amazing! I also had their fries on the side which was well fried.

🍅Lizzie did not enjoy: I need to come back for the food as the drinks and sides were amazing.

đŸ„‡Lizzie rates overall: One of my favourite wineries - so lucky to call Melbourne home!
Melbourne, Let’s Eat
Came in just before 11:45 on a Sunday and were seated right away. Loveeed all the dishes we ordered. Ordered Tasmanian oysters, beef tartare, baramundi and lamb.

My favourites would have to be the barramundi and the beef tartar. The fish was cooked perfectly and the beef tartar is very refreshing in taste with all the herbs.

The champagne tasting did not disappoint. Love Chandon sparkles!

Loved the sleek and fancy design when you walked into the restaurant. There is a tasting corner where you get to taste their ranges.

We ordered to share and had the wine tasting range and really enjoyed it.The oysters were very fresh and the pork cutlet was cooked well.

The zuchini flowers really stand out, the flavours were really good.

Tried their dessert platter and it was a nice sweet ending to the meal.

Overall, it was a good experience and we enjoyed our meal
Good Food Good Mood
We went to Chandon today to celebrate my sisters birthday and I have to say as far as a winery lunch goes this was definitely not one of the more superior experiences I’ve had. The sparkling Shiraz was enjoyed by all but the overly noisy restaurant was not.

There was quite a limited menu which saw 5 of us ordering lamb. Unfortunately the lamb was quite dry given it was not served with a jus other than a drizzle on top and the accompanying grains had a dominating olive oil flavour. We did request some more of the sauce but by the time we thought to do so most of our meals were practically finished.

Staff were quite good with the feedback and did make an amendment to the bill which was appreciated but given the lamb at Coombe a short drive away is utterly spectacular I don’t think I would return here. The food is not befitting of the price point or it’s prestigious location

What a beautiful wine estate. I don’t know about you but I LOVE a good glass of bubbly. The bubbly tasting at Chandon is a lovelyway to try a few tasters and then pick you fave to enjoy in the lush gardens while taking in the spectacular views. We haven’t eaten here yet but will be back soon.

The greenery at Domaine Chandon is a visual delight. They have recently gone through a renovation. It's quite a popular destination so it does get busy very quickly. That said, it is one of the essential spots when you are in the area. I've done the tour and I enjoyed myself. There's a lot of history in this place.

Very excited to check out the new chandon restaurant after a new rennovation.

The decor was very minimalistic and matching with the vineyard. Came on a busy Sunday yet the staff were super friendly. It is a great place to taste the wine and champange. The cheese platter is so good with the wine. Love how they have pairing wine options with every dish. Had a relaxing time here.

Had an amazing time in Chandon with my relatives. The service are great and friendly staff explaining the wines. Love the sparkling red one this time😄

Beautiful winery to spend my Birthday! The service and food was top notch and I had a wonderful day. Lovely grounds and lots of places to take photos.

We went there for lunch on a not so busy Monday.
Food: Love the duck, beautifully confit. We shared selection of dessert- rice pudding, it is what it is, and done nicely. Chocolate tart - fantastic, good balance between the sweet and bitter.
Ambience: Panoramic view of rolling hills and acres of vineyard- what not to like.
Service: courteous and attentive
The Lovely Fox
Visited this beautiful vineyard today, definitely exceeded expectations as it was our first visit and didn’t know what to expect.

We did the splash tasting which was 6 different wines that varied from white, Rose to red sparking.
We purchased a bottle of the vintage Blanc de bond and received a $6 refund due to doing the tasting. Joe, who ran the tasting presentation was very informative, he even provided assistance on finding other wineries to visit and a map of the Yarra valley.

Food, was on the pricier side, however this is fine dining food. They have the option for nibbles like a cheese and charcuterie board etc for you to enjoy on their patio which highlights the amazing view of their vines.
Definitely recommend a visit.

Wine 5/5
food 4/5
Service 5/5
Atmosphere 5/5
Tasting sparkling as this time visit always busy and well present .
Beautiful and peaceful even it’s busy there .

Absolutely stunning venue and nicely designated between restaurant, bar and cellar. Food is high quality but not too original, bar the dessert which was a major highlight. Of course, highly recommend going with the recommended wine pairings for whatever you order.
We got a plethora of different styles to get the most out of it and our favourite was the salmon and duck entrees.
Thanks for having us, we will be sure to be back!

I personally hold really high expectation for Chandon. I have been there once last year before the new restaurant renovation. We could only get simple refreshment and wine in their original little white property, but the good service impressed me lots. That’s why I came back this time to experience the new restaurant.

I prefer to give 3.5 ⭐ rather then 4 ⭐if I could. For the starter, I planned to order the bread with the butter, but I changed the mind because the waitress mentioned the Tas oysters. We ordered half dozen without hesitation and said ‘we were just back from the Tas trip and the oysters there impressed us very much.’ Then the waitress replied ‘ Oh, if you want really good oysters, you should go Tas to have’ Maybe that’s a hint from her to remind us the oysters wouldn’t be as good as our thinking? As what everyone can see my posted pic of the oysters, the meat is not fill the shell and obviously the shells are not ‘deep cup’ which means less meat. The oysters tasted far from Tas ones. They should be creamy, and super smooth, but unfortunately, I couldn’t get the certain features from these oysters. The outstanding part of the oysters is the dipping sauce. The red shallot vinegar gave my mouth the freshness.

We ordered the duck with leek and apple radish salad, and veal with beans & potato. I have to say that the duck was a little bit overcooked. When cutting the duck, it was bit hard. Can’t see nice and pink colour but can see the duck meat turning bit grey colour. The sauce for the duck is not enough. Warm leek is pretty ok, nice and juicy, and the apple with radish salad perfectly matching the duck meat. Also the veal was bit overcooked as well, and the bean was just plain flavour without being well seasoned, as well as the potato, it was the first time we need to add extra salt on a winery dish.

The side we ordered pommes frites. The amount was large, enough for two to share and the aioli sauce was yum but not enough, so we needed to ask the waitress to bring the second one.

For the dessert, it’s really hard for us to make the decision. That’s why we got the mignardises which actually contains all the desserts on the menu but mini size. At very first stage, I personally refused to taste liquorice one. Just hate the liquorice flavour thing. But after trying, I would say that’s the dessert I would like to order if I am back to this place again. It was not very sweet style dessert without the strong liquorice flavour but just spot on when mixing with the passion fruit. Comparing with this dessert, the other two were pretty ordinary style, but I still appreciate the fresh raspberries in lemon verbena and the strawberry vacherin.

The service is nice and the waitress did give us a lot of advice when picking the wine and provided very good experience of tasting, which was much better than getting stuck in the cellar door.

Overall, Chandon as a winery can produce good quality, well known bottles, but for the dinning part, I really couldn’t enjoy the meal. Hopefully they could improve this.
Our group of 6 came to Chandon on a beautiful 30 degree Sunday. Upon arrival the views of the vineyard and mountains were just spectacular. We were seated and went straight to ordering because after going to 3 wineries before this one and no food prior, we were starving.

For entree we all shared:
Oysters - amazingly creamy and fresh, I’m not usually a fan of oysters but these were delicious especially with the vinaigrette
Beef tartare - cannot flaw this dish it was very enjoyable
SautĂ©ed calamari - a little bit of a let down, the flavours were a little strange and we didn’t really enjoy it

For mains:
I myself got the duck and it was pretty nice but lacked a bit of seasoning
4 people in my group got the veal cutlet and loved it and after trying it myself, agreed that it was delicious
My friend who ordered the swordfish requested that it be cooked a little on the well done side and she very much enjoyed it with the beautifully fresh salad it came with.

Lastly we finished off with the dessert by ordering the cheese plate and the strawberry vacherin. We all really enjoyed the semi Freddo and were disappointed we could only get a bite each and the cheese platter was a nice way to finish the meal and was presented beautifully.

Overall the service was very attentive, the views out the large windows were gorgeous and we had a wonderful time and would definitely be back again.
Eating Away Melbourne
Very nice view on a the balcony. Visited on a beautiful day and the sun on your back was just amazing! The Chandon S was so amazing that I had a second one and bought a bottle! The rose I tried was quite average. You need to order at the counter but staff were all super friendly and service was pretty quick. The only complain is there were way too many tourist...
Sinfully Delicious
Great views and spacious so you don’t feel too cramp like other vineyards. We had the cheese platter which was really good and the standard tasting paddle from the bar not the cellar so it was a little bit more expensive but we wanted to sit down and enjoy the views.

We came to domaine chandon for our 6 year wedding anniversary. We enjoyed a beautiful wine accompanied by there yummy cheese plate. Views are absolutely beautiful and staff are very lovely.

The "La Porchetta" of wineries. Avoid at all costs - overcrowded by people there to take a selfie, standing on chairs to get the "perfect shot", rather than being civil and conscious that they are in a public space. Chandon branding is on EVERYTHING, including the windows that ruined the only positive going for the venue, the view.
The food was poor quality, and, in my opinion, pub food at best. Prices were expensive (and trust me, I'm one for a good splurge on amazing culinary experiences), and menu gives a glorified french description, when in reality, the produce and dishes were such low quality. We didn't finish our meal, and the wait staff didn't ask why. I really don't understand the hype of this place? Was so disappointed and wished I had booked elsewhere.
My advice is that for the same price (or even less) you could find multiple other better wineries with nicer wine, better quality produce, and where selfies are less tolerated.
TBH I've never bought and don't drink Chandon wines, so I'm not even sure why I decided to book this venue for lunch - bad move :( and my husband isn't going to let me live this one down in a hurry!

We had a great first visit here. The service was prompt and the staff were friendly. The food was delicious and they catered for food intolerances.

I have been a resident of Melbourne now for almost 8 months and during this tenure I have dined outside almost every day at some of the most exclusive restaurants.

The restaurant at Domaine Chandon came recommended by a friend and I took my family for lunch today and I have to admit it was the worst dining experience of my life in terms in food, quality of service and above all the attitude of the senior management.

We placed our order around 1 pm and until 2:20 pm, the main order was not served despite repeated requests. The cheese platter that came on the table had human hair on it , the French onion soup was cold and the brut sparkling wine was not adequately chilled. When we asked for our main course from the manager , he said, it was next in the queue and that it would be served and that he would not charge us for the cheese. He failed to understand that we were not looking for any discounts but to have our meal for which we had driven for more than 1.5 hours from the city center.

His entire approach and attitude towards this complaint was non apologetic as he felt that by merely not charging us for cheese and fries would compensate us for the entire day we lost and left hungry.

I will make it a point to never visit this restaurant again and also tell all my friends to stay far away from this place.

Great place, beautiful food and If I could describe the restaurant and my experience in one sentence; “Alimentation de graisse avec un cĂŽtĂ© de bonne pisse”
Food Glorious Food
Domain Chandon is a pretty albeit touristy winery with beautiful views. We had a late lunch, consisting of 3 courses paired with 2 sparkling wines. Service was friendly and efficient and the decor comfortable. The first course, an entree of charcuterie, crunchy pickles and bread, which was nice enough bordering on ordinary. The main course made me feel slightly ill. Served luke warm, we had snapper, served on a bed of wet cauliflower rice, alongside some pippies filled with sand and seaweed. Grinding up bits of sand with a pippie will be one of the lowlights of all my dining experiences, ever. The fish seemed fresh and had a nice crispy skin but thats where it ended, my partners fish swam in undrained cauliflower water. Dessert was a uninspiring Meulle Foile ,tasteless filling, layered with soggy rhubarb. $180 for 2 people.

Looking to cap off a lovely weekend in the Yarra, we decided to book a dining experience at the restaurant here. We arrived at 12pm for the lunchtime booking and the greeter was happy to accommodate our request to have a window view (albeit that we had a 90 min seat time). The view was definitely worth the time restriction and given it's lunch, we didn't fancy sitting for more than that.

Our waitress was extremely polite, friendly and was happy to provide useful suggestions to help us along the way. We ended up starting with a sparkling and chose to order the Confit Duck Leg. We decided to team it up with the pomme frittes, cause who doesn't love fries. The duck was good, like really good. Not so sold on the truffle polenta or wild mushroom civet, but the duck itself was great. The flavours worked really well, though if you're a fan of duck (in general), recommend might be worth trying the dish at Petit Tracteur Bistro.

We finished with a dessert recommendation of the 'Mignardises', which is essentially miniature versions of the 3 main desserts that they have. Good option for sharing, and they all seem nice (in their smaller portions).

Can't really fault the dining experience, with the food being good and the service being solid. As such, giving it a 4 out of 5. You might find better service or better meal, but it doesn't mean that you won't enjoy this one!

Great experience
It was our first wine tasting experience
We tasted 6 wines and got to know the details , flavours and smoothness of each ...

The restaurant has a lovely view .

Overall Super
Expensive Delicious Habit.
A couple of months ago I spent the afternoon at Domaine Chandon- arguably one of the nicest wineries in the Yarra Valley! Perfect for some sightseeing for an international guest. It's not hard to see why when you look at the view!. We enjoyed a glass of sparkling (Chandon is one of my faves, after all!) and the cheese board. As you'd expect, it's not super generous for the price- so one to save for special occasions!

We were very excited but what a horrible experience. Came for my husband’s birthday lunch today. Although we love the winery itself and came to try the wine few times, it was our first time to dine in which turned out to be a real mistake. Lamb had rarely no meat in the lamb on a rack and was chewy and tough, prawn pasta had really weird taste to it which was sickly and out of balance and our daughters barramundi tasted really bland some what tasted off. It smelt like rotten pond which she refused to it. What a shame that there was no food that we enjoyed and we were disappointed while the only enjoyable part of the meal was sourdough bread we had for starter. We will never return again, maybe for the wine some day. Waste of money and time.

Amazing views from the newly fitted out restaurant. Lovely fine dining lunch and excellent wines of course. Attentive, knowledgeable and charming staff. Well worth the trip.

Friendly staff, perfect views, delicious food, what more can you ask for. they have a $12, 6 wine tasting which lets you taste test before buying, however, all six were very nice anyway. I did like the sparkling pinot shiraz the best. Child friendly, but be sure to mention high chair required when you book.

Entree 5/5 - Must try the Charcuterie Board
Food 4/5 - Very filling
Dessert 5/5 - Creme Brûlée on point
Wine 4/5 - Tasted like alcoholic apple juice, lucky I like apple juice
Ambience 2/5 - Felt a bit like a old school cafeteria but the scenery made up for it
Coffee - Short back was straight to the point

Visits this place on a weekday which not expecting to be busy. There's a few table of some small group of customers and some group of tourist.
Food was slow and service was not impressed at all. We went a group of 4 of us and we booked the table in advanced. I had crispy skin fish which the skin turns out so soggy and soft. It's $38 for a small portion of this dish. Very disappointed. The staff was not helpful at all and really hard to get attention. Never top up a water glass for us so the whole 1.5hours we ended up had just 1 glass of water only each.

Popped in for lunch hadn't booked a table but staff more than happy to accommodate our request. The service is brilliant along with some amazing views make a great setting for lynch. Superb food fresh, tasty can't fault it.

A group of us went to Chandon for lunch yesterday as it was the first day of Queen's Birthday long weekend. M had kindly made a reservation so we didn't have to queue up for it.
The girls picked a charcuterie platter to share as a start, and different mains as well so we got to try a bit of everything. The duck was a bit dry and lacking flavour. Corn-fed chicken was our favourite, so tender and juicy. The veggie pasta had way too much cheese on it which took away the flavour of other ingredients. The boys pretty much all ordered the fish and one of them was still a little raw inside. Food wasn't that good and service was lacking. It wasn't that busy either.
Love At First Bite
Find us on instagram: loveatfirstbite_aus

Came here for our day trip to the Yarra Valley, we explored the Moet and Chandon winery before eating lunch at this restaurant. We ordered the chicken and mushroom pizza and the pork belly dishes, which were tasty and filling and the place had a great view.

Been there for the frist time and had a great experience. Definitely will come back again .i ordered the sharing plate and this was the best liver patĂȘ I've ever had in the past 10years.!!! Fantastic view, great foods & well trained staffs. Highly recommended.

It always one of my favorite winery. Fantastic view. Good food. Love the wine tasting range. Service is professional, friendly and attentive. They shown that they had listen to customer feedback. Now they had installed a proper coffee machine. Well done. Back again for lunch. Corn fed chicken was soft, tender and juicy. Great idea with the sparkling wine tasting range. Excellent dessert. Highly recommended.

I went here for lunch for my friend's birthday today. It's in a beautiful location with views of the hills and it was gorgeous driving down the driveway with the leaves changing red. We took some photos outside and when it was time to order I ordered the poached trout salad with autumn vegetables, one friend ordered the orecchiette with pumpkin and my other friends ordered duck median rare. We also ordered potato chips with aioli. I was happy to see that my trout salad had a lot of trout but unfortunately it was bland, it needed some sort of sauce or dressing. I did feel healthy eating it though. I tried my friend's duck and I had serious food envy. My friend didn't want to eat her confit onion and another friend didn't want to eat her silverbeet that came with her duck, I added them to my salad which gave it much needed flavour. The chips we ordered looked more like wedges and they were delicious. We had nice sparkling wine and we tried my friend's sparkling wine with orange bitters, we liked it so much we bought ourselves a bottle. The staff here were ok, they weren't rude but they weren't friendly either. I'd come back here again but I'd think twice before ordering a salad.

Always a nice place for us to soak up the sun with a view of the winery with some wine or brut on hand!
It's been a while since we've been here, our last visit was a few months back where we couldn't get a table and had to settle for a platter and wine.
Found some older photos of the time when we did dine there a while ago.

We visited here for my mums birthday on a Sunday. So glad we booked a table! It was packed. Waitress was good, one of them was very rude and abrupt but could not fault the others. Food was good, highly recommend the lamb rump! Cooked and seasoned perfectly.. the charcuterie board was delicious and fresh, a good way to start the meal! The desserts! Wow order the burnt orange creme caramel and the lemon meringue 😍 all in all, a great experience!
Maidstone Yana
We have been there few times and we always prefer to go back there again.

We really like the view, which overlook the vineyard and big blue sky.

Food was good but not good to the level that I would just go back there for the food alone.

The restaurant was apparently under staffed during the time we visited. But most importantly, they were still very helpful, friendly, and welcoming.
Emma Louise
Thinking Chandon would have fabulous service except it was the complete opposite!
Firstly we got there and staff were standing around talking as we waiting for a good 3 minutes to be served. No one said hello or said for us it wouldn't be a moment!
We finally got greeted by what we thought was the manager and he wasn't friendly at all! Then once we had ordered our drinks that weren't consistent amount. Our waitress was lovely and kindly filled them up but then the manager came over and made us feel terrible! The food was average and the atmosphere wasn't very welcoming! A shoutout to our lovely waitress as she was the only thing that made us feel some what welcoming!
Put The Kettle On
An extremely poor and sad excuse for a hospitality establishment. I took overseas relatives to the YV and was deeply embarrassed at the poor service at Greenpoint. We were initially a party of 3 then the rest of the party joined us after having done the tour and tastings, as you do. The rest of the party was another 12. Yes large, agreed. The waiter and the manager at Greenpoint got upset with us for moving a couple of the tables and chairs next to the initial table. Waiters tone was rude and abrupt and the look on his face, like we killed his pet. We apologised and offered to move it back. Response from the manager was just as bad, he said, "You don't come to someones restaurant and start moving the furniture". Seriously!!??! Yes granted we did move them. Note though, our party (of 12, hard to miss) stood lost for a good 2-3 minutes with no one attending to them, ie asking if they could assist, perhaps relocating all of us to a larger table, etc. -- you know, basic 101 hospitality service stuff. We truly did not see this as an issue, having moved furniture before in other establishments, moreover Greenpoint was less than 50% full at around 3.30pm. I was so embarrassed, this left a very sour note with my relatives, they felt so terribly unwelcome and appalled being treated in a very un-customer service manner. The rest of the 12 left the cafe to go eat elsewhere. Fair to say, we will never be back. And sadly, a place like Greenpoint will always survive due to the Domaine Chandon name.

So underwhelmed with these sparklings. Expected so much from something affiliated with " Chandon" . Staff were pretentious and uninviting. Location was the saving grace however . Very loud in the tasting room. $10 tasting fee is steep given the poor quality and the fact that there is no top shelf wines included/available to taste at this cellar door
Kate
Beautiful buildings and views across the vineyard. The cellar door is well set up for tasting and having a glass of wine, however to purchase a glass requires lining up and entering the restaurant to do so. Perhaps an easier process would be to sell glasses of wine at the testing bar.
Otherwise, great atmosphere and friendly service.

We had a long lunch at the Green Point Brasserie at Domaine Chandon today and honestly we were very disappointed with our experience.
The good: gorgeous view, really nice wine tasting board available with lunch, delicious cheeses and the pumpkin side dish is to die for.
The bad: I ordered the steak, which came out cold and wasn't rested properly, so my entire plate was swimming with blood - the waitress immediately took it back when I mentioned it to her. Literally two minutes later the same piece of meat comes back out again - they just smacked the half picked over steak back on the grill at full temp and what came back to me was a disgusting, extremely charred, chewy, dry piece of 'meat'. I didn't bother sending it back again because I didn't want to think what would come back out to me a third time - I ended up just pushing it to the side because it was pretty inedible. They also forgot our sides, we had to remind them that we had ordered them and by the time they came out everyone at the table had finished their meals, despite trying to wait for said missing sides.
We tried to order coffees after our meal, however, they only serve FILTERED coffee...umm are we back in the Stone Age?! Shock horror.
With all the amazing wineries and restaurants in the region, Domaine Chandon seriously need to lift their game to stay in the same league with the rest of the Yarra Valley. Needless to say we won't bother going back again.

Famous for their world-renowned prestigious champagne, Moet et Chandon also provide breathtaking views at their Victorian Winery in Coldstream Hills. The food is quite average, with nothing spectacular to make you want to come back just for the food. But the views and wine tasting is what people line up for, and what you will want to experience when here. They provide a nice charcuterie board and unlimited bread, perfect for sharing.

A beautiful surrounding in which to dine, however the service leaves a lot to be desired. Food was tasty, though not worth the excessive prices charged. We repeatedly had to ask for assistance, to the point where we asked if any service staff were allocated to our table. Extremely disappointed with our visit, things have certainly deteriorated since our last visit a couple of years ago. I would certainly not recommend a visit - there are much better places to enjoy in the Yarra Valley.

For a limited run kicking off from April 5th, guests visiting The Emerson Rooftop will be treated to a delicious taste of Yarra Valley’s Domaine Chandon without the need to travel the distance. Adorned with hanging vines and much greenery, the transformed rooftop sets the scene for a memorable dining experience underneath the stars.

It's a beautiful place. Lovely atmosphere and vibe. It's advisable to make a reservation to avoid wise or long waiting periods. Having said that, while you wait you could do a quick tour around the place that has views that won't disappoint or do a wine tasting.

We were there on a super busy day, the food came out really quickly and we couldn't wait to dig in. It was delicious. So fresh and mouth watering. The cheese platter was to die for. Would definitely go back.
The main selling point of this restaurant is the view and the natural light. The burrata and heirloom tomato salad is nicely refreshing. The charcuterie board is a great spread in terms of variety, though you're bound to run out of bread before the end.
The only downside to the dining experience was I once tried to get the attention of a waiter, who locked eyes with me, raised his left eyebrow, then turned away. "No matter" , I thought, "maybe there is something from the kitchen he really needed to run. I'm sure he will come back. " He didn't. But that's okay, I'm sure a lot of diners casually wave at him just to say hi. After all, he had fantastic hair.
Another good thing is, if you had a bottle of wine while dining at the brasserie, you get to taste their wines free of charge. Yay!

Pedigree = Quality = Value for Money?

It would be hard to find another Vineyard, Winery, Cellar Door in Australia that is as Majestic, extremely well set up, furnished, equipped, financially loaded and has the pedigree as this establishment, after all the legendary Louis Vuitton owns this business.

While other vineyards or wineries in the area are still struggling to have a sealed-road from the main road or water supply this establishment got just about the best of everything.

It reflected in what they are charging, sadly it doesn't equate to the quality of their offering. Having said that if you are looking only for an opulent set up, learn about how Champagne is made, okay view of a vineyard then this is the one.

I can only wish their kitchen can pump up offering that is second to none in the area, at the right price.

Been here twice now with my family and both times the meals I had were well remembered. I particularly remember the zucchini risotto with fried noodle wrapped prawns. I have literally never had better prawns before, and I felt like I needed to say it! The portions are on the smaller side and they're a bit pricey, but that's something I'd expect for a higher end winery/restaurant in the Yarra Valley region.

Chandon? More like Chandon't.
I was really excited to visit this well known winery for a lovely lunch on a sunny day.
We made a booking, but on arrival we were seated at a communal round table (side by side, in a curved row) so it was somehow difficult to interact and share food.
Tried the Sparkling Shiraz which was pretty nice but certainly not the best I've had.
Experience was unfortunately a little affected by the less than friendly service. I asked if it was possible to have the seared tuna a little more well done in the niscoise salad and was told "no, the tuna is raw". I tried to clarify if it was seared as the menu described. Again the waitress informed me rather bluntly "no, it's raw".
I then ordered the school prawns. The waitress asked me condescendingly "do you know what that is? It's the whole prawn". I nodded politely and confirmed that I did indeed wish to follow through with the order. Unfortunately the school prawns were extremely salty and the salad and dressing was unable to cut through the saltiness.
A dining companion ordered the lamb dish but was unsure of what one of the accompaniments on the dish was. The waitress impatiently told her "it's polenta". If it was simply polenta, why would the menu call it something completely different? When the dish came, the "polenta" was actually a floury sweet potato mash meatloaf triangle (that's my best description!) and was pretty much left uneaten because it wasn't very pleasant.
The views were wonderful but due to my less than wonderful experience here, I am doubtful that I will return again for a meal.

the food were okay, not bad but not that special either, it was more like a hit n miss.
the view was great but you have to really walk outside to enjoy it, as from inside the restaurant, it was dull.
the restaurant itself was super noisy, you can hardly talk without repeating your words, and the service was below average.

If we had come just for wine tasting it would have been a 5.0 score, there was a young French man in the bar, who's knowledge of wine was expectional, great service. However we ate in the brasserie, despite making a booking for a special occasion we were sat in the middle of the restaurant when plenty of tables by the windows (with spectacular views) were available. I could go on, but to sum things up we were pretty much ignored, staff were to busy tidying up and 'closing' despite it being 2pm. We had to call staff over/ get there attention to order almost everything. Never mind we had a lovely bottle of wine to get through we sat and relaxed for some time, When it came to order desserts tough luck they had finished serving them without letting us know, cheers!!! Will definitely not be back again despite having an amazing antipasto platter.

I can't comment on the food however this is the perfect place to come for the most relaxing glass of champagne with a fantastic view. Fantastic service too.
Best to book if with a group as they get a lot of group tastings.

For an ostensibly fine dining restaurant, Greenpoint Brasserie doesn't quite hit the mark in terms of ambiance, service and food. The restaurant is big and has lots of natural light, but it really could do with some sound-proofing. Our ears were ringing as everyone in the restaurant had to talk louder to make themselves heard.

Service could most definitely be improved. More staff on the floor would be good and more attentive/alert staff would make a big difference.

In terms of food, if you have to come to Greenpoint, order the charcuterie plate, skip the mains, and order the tarte tartin! The rest of the food was fine but punters who make the effort of coming out to the Yarra Valley are looking for something special and unfortunately Greenpoint doesn't deliver as hoped. With so many other wineries with restaurants in the region, Greenpoint needs to lift its game.

Great place for a relaxing afternoon of champagne (sparkling wine as they call it here) tasting and oysters. One of the best sparkling wine maker in Australia! Definitely recommend the snacks and oysters, but I think there are other restaurants serving better main courses in the region.
Jac
What a huge disappointment.
We came as part of a special celebration.
We were given extremely bad service, decided to order a shared meal but was not even given an extra plate. We couldn't order extra bread as getting anyone's attention was difficult. As to another bottle of wine.... Impossible as we were totally ignored. We are not difficult patrons but usually very easy going....very acceptable of circumstances but not today. It was more a cafeteria. Enough is enough. Don't bother. Totally overpriced as there is extremely poor service.
To add insult to injury Alise on the till decided to add our tasting discount to the bill instead of subtracting. What a shame. You have the name and views but you an embarrassment to Australian hospitality and quality.

What a beautiful view! I wouldn't mind more of this everyday! Service was good. Food was average at best. It's a nice place for lunch overall.
Sweet Cloud
Been there a couple of times. It's a great place to eat and relax, staff are very friendly, great food and wine, also magnificent view with all the mountains vineyard and sky.
Lemonmeringue
Lovely setting, but the entire meal was let down by the incredibly poor service. I had to beckon a waiter over to order our mains, then to clear our entree plates away, and to fill up our water glasses on multiple occasions. We ordered a bottle of sparkling, and had to refill our glasses ourselves. They could have done with double the number of waitstaff to attend to the busy Saturday lunch crowd. Fortunately, the view is spectacular and the food was quite good. The service really needs a lift though.

Pros:
‱ spectacular views
‱ good food

Cons:
‱ service left a lot to be desired - we had to beckon a waiter to order, have plates cleared, have water glasses filled, wine glasses filled
‱ paucity of vegetarian options

I expected more.
Daniel
The magnificent view itself deserves a good review. Wines are decently priced and good. Was hungry so I had a soft shell crab slider while my friends did a self guided tour. The view while having my slider was amazing although the sun did not shine. The burger itself was average and lack some proper flavouring and I for one do not fancy pickles in a soft shell crab slider. A simple slaw would have did the crab much more justice.

The surrounding of this place is absolutely marvelous. Enjoyed with the view while sipping a glass of wine. Plus wines are priced moderately although its pinot noir tastes amazing. Absolutely the place for everybody who loves to drink wines.

We are members at Chandon the nicest winery in the Yarra Valley. The views are spectacular on a sunny afternoon sipping on some Cuvée Rich (our favourite) along with the delicious charcuterie and cheese boards along with the yummy pasta and meat mains. A definite stopover when checking out the wineries in Yarra Valley.
Tina Zhang
Beautiful winery with amazing views. Their menu, though limited, was delicious and carefully prepared. Staff were attentive and pleasant even though we went during a busy period and they seemed to be short staffed. The charcuterie board is a favourite and I order it each time i visit. Keep in mind as well that their sides are HUGE (we couldnt finish the massive bowl of chips).
Laine Lee
Food is lousy. YEring station has better food quality and better environment. This place feels like a bistro than a proper restaurant serving wine. Coming back for wines only.
Doug Montgomery
No entree?. Enjoyed the main meal but no entrée on menu? 2 couples on Sunday, 3 had the twice cooked lamb shoulder very very tender. One had the fish schnapper also very good. Enjoyed the meal.
Celeste
Don't order the steak!. Terrible steak, full of gristle/fat for $38. Wouldn't give it to my dog. Service good.
Tara Laan
Fast service, decent food. We had a good lunch at Domain Chandon. Service was fast. We had requested a table with a view and were given a one. Food was good with generous servings. It may have helped that we got there at 230 after the rush

Always a great experience and lovely staff. Excellent food and superb wine. Only negative, kids menu chips are adult size wedges! Always book so you won't be disappointed. Great place.

Just take a look.. How beautiful is this vineyard? They say its best to visit wineries during the autumn season. I might have to agree with that. Domaine Chandon produces the ever so famous, Mo ë t Chandon champagnes. They have their own cellar door, restaurant, and huge fields to grow out grapes. There's plenty of champagnes selection to choose from. Wine tasting is open to the public and it costs only 5AUD to try taste as much wine as you possibly could. That five dollar fee would be waived if you purchase any bottle. Of course, for safety reasons, make your buddy who doesn't drink to drive back to the city. In this case, I am the victim. Domaine Chandon's beautiful backdrop. We even saw kangaroos roaming around from afar. They are indeed the cutest! The place where everyone enjoys their cup of champagne Wanted to take a picture of the champagne bottles at the back but this waiter was gracious enough to pose for me. Thanks Tim! Here's the list of champagnes that's available for tas

It was perfect for sitting out in the sun, enjoying the excellent food and wine. We were there for two hours and were never made to feel uncomfortable for being there that long.

The skin of the pan roasted snapper fillet is very crispy and the fish and roast potatoes are tasty having soaked up all the dill butter sauce.

I seldom order snapper but this one I will as it is definitely a dish for all seasons.

...The oysters were fresh and sweet, packed with a little bit of crunch.
Gastrology
The food was of a reasonably good standard. The polenta chips were a particular standout. Unfortunately, the service left much to be desired - the waitstaff could be seen avoiding eye contact and being incredibly unresponsive. Thankfully, the beautiful surrounds more than made up for that flaw.
Hardo
Superb. Just wanted to give a quick shout out to your wonderful staff member Morgan who was simply sublime with helping us take a lovely photo on our girls day out. Friendly, efficient and kind. An asset to Chandon.
Maz Marshall
Very limited menu and the food is not that good
Staff were excellent
Dissappointing to say the least.
Liz
We had a lovely meal here, but know what you are getting. This is a bistro... Lots of kids wandering in and out to/from the outdoors, doors open so a few flies, noisy and casual. But at restaurant prices. Good food... not great; fabulous service. Had to re-locate to an alternative winery for dessert as green point does not do coffee (not profitable enough??? Says a bit about the management). Despite this probably the best views in Victoria.
Michelle
While the views are lovely, the service and lunch were disappointing. We waiting an hour only to be sat at the end of a table that was available the whole time. Our bread was brought out after our mains and our salad was no where go be seen. It finally arrived after our mains were finished and was inedible after all that. Won't be returning.

Domaine Chandon with Epicurean Tours. This is a great lunch-we went as part of a tour with Epicurean Food and Wine Tours and had a terrific lunch, fabulous service that was efficient and friendly. Would highly recommend-go with this tour company so you dont have to worry about the driving.

Mobile Review. We found the service to be friendly, attentive & efficient. The wine tasting was brought to our table & was beautifully presented. The food was fabulous. The view was lovely & was great watching families kicking a footy outside with the kids.
The only disappointment was NO coffee. Needed to go elsewhere for coffee & cake.
Donna
Loved it. Great service, fabulous food, beautiful views, lovely bubbles and very reasonably priced. What's with the whiners?
Ruth_leaming
Nice meal but no coffee!. No coffee! Quite a nice birthday lunch for my sister-in-law ... But when we went to order dessert -- shock, horror -- the waitress apologetically announced that they don't have coffee! How is this possible? Had to go to another winery for coffee and dessert.
Management obviously needs to rethink this decision.
Amy
Wow. The food and service was the best I have experienced at a winery for many years. The fritatta was the BEST fritatta I have ever eaten (it melted in my mouth, with lovely roasted pumpkin and ricotta), and the 'chips' (lovely salted roasted wedges) were divine. The view of the lawn, vines, rolling hills and mountain was amazing. The service was friendly, delightful and professional. On a sunny Sunday winter's afternoon, bookings are needed - but it is well worth it.

Surprisingly good food. Booked this restaurant en route to the Yarra Valley. After coming up short with three other wineries, Domaine Chandon came good with our request to book a table for three people. I was a bit nervous that it may be a dud given the bad reviews on Urbanspoon. But i have to say the food was as good as some fine dining restaurants I've been to. We started with atasting board to share between us. It had smoked salmon, smoked chicken, prosciutto, olives, tomato dip, beetroot relish, kabana, fetta cheese and lavosh. Large platter of food to start with. For mains, two of us had steak and I had the pork cutlet, celery and apple salad and mashed celeriac (I think). Both the mains were very good. The steak was tender and flavoursome. The pork was tender and tasty. Only quibble I had was the salad only had one piece of apple. Onto dessert, two of us had the cinnamon brulee and one lemon meringue. The former was the best version of creme brulee I've had, it had the brittle crust and soft creamy interior. The lemon meringue was well-balanced between sweet and tart. The meal (less entertainment card discount of $35) was around $230 (including three wine tastings). The service was very good and friendly despite the bistro being fully booked. Overall, not the cheapest but I felt the food and service was as good as some fine dining places I've been to in Melbourne, New York and Europe. Makes me wonder how good those other places we tried to book are if Domaine Chandon is considered mediocre by the Urbanspoon crowd.

View, service and location were great! One complaint on the food, the dessert i had was banoffee caramel, fresh banana wasnt used, mint was too overpowering it dominated the taste of the lovely duck. Banana wasnt fresh like eating a cardboard, strawberry wasn't fresh either. Dessert was a total disappointment .
Miss Chic Pea
Friendly service and a beautiful view!
A lovely peaceful experience.

We were hesitant about going due to the bad reviews on urbanspoon.. Well they've either stepped up the service or those complaining are likely never happy. We shared a bottle of Cuvée Riche and a cheese platter, a perfect valentines lunch. Beautiful view and the staff were knowledgable and attentive.
Gastronome
Beautiful setting, lovely food.. Service was exceptionally friendly and most accommodating to our requests. Like the comments posted by another blogger, we stayed for well over 2 hours as the outdoor setting was absolutely beautiful, yet not once were we made to feel we had overstayed our welcome.

The harpuka fish was delicious and reasonably priced for a winery.

Was very impressed and would go back again.
Wendy Pan
Love the view but not food
Matthew
My only complaint the service, view, food & the Heathcote Shiraz well worth it.
Kaytlyn
Oakridge was the winery we went for coffee and cakes and great service!
Andrew
Too little serving, very expensive, soggy chips, conflicting salad taste, soup too creamy. Not recommended. I wouldn't recommend even to my worse enemy.
Kjmac
Terrible food and service. Sadly, the only redeeming feature of our meal at Domaine Chandon was the view. But even this did not make up for the overpriced and poor quality food and we would not go back again.

We ordered the seafood sharing plate and we suspect from the smell that the oysters were either on the turn or off. When we pointed this out to our waitress she said she would inform the Chef but we never saw her again to be updated about what he or she said. This was despite her being overly keen when we first arrived!

We also ordered the croquettes which were overly salty. We were keen to have a 3 course meal but didn't order anything else and left hungry and disappointed. Not an ideal way to celebrate a birthday!
Dottore Vince
What could you not like about the location and view. We obviously had the A team service. The sharing platter was lovely. The negative reviews show you can't please everyone all the time.
Precious Taste
Over priced and poor quality foods!! As soon as I read the menu there was nothing to order!! The food came and it was too small portion and average taste!! Won't go again!
Walter
GREAT VIEW -. Great view & location. Service came with a could not care less attitude, a bit pricey for what it was too. Down the road at the Yerring Golf Club the views are the same, the greeting warm and the prices for food and wine a fraction. Make your own judgement
Kevin Lee
Enjoyable. Surprising and contrary to most of the negative reviews, I had a great experience at the Green Point on a nice, sunny Monday morning. Staffs were a little less attentive to start with, but the service did pick up. Loved the Antipasto Platter and Vanilla Panna Cotta. With the breathtaking view, it's the right place to be to enjoy a glass or two of Chandon Sparkling. Or try the wine platters, that allows you to enjoy up to 4 different wines at a go.

Disappointed. I was looking forward to lunch here for so long and I was extremely disappointed! Took so long for Staff to even acknowledge we were waiting for a table. Took even longer to be seat and even longer for that for our order to be taken. By the time our meals arrive we were starving. I ordered blue eye cod with muscles and potatoes. Fish was extremely small fillet and only 3 muscles. Lacked any flavor and taste. My mother and nana ordered the seafood plate it was even more pathetic for the price. 3 oysters, 3 tiny prawn spoon full and fish paste. Not a Taste sensation. Worst value for money. Under staffed. Much better places to eat in the Yarra valley! Chandon should stick to sparkling wines.
Bambam
The staff were fantastic and showed us to our table by the window. Outstanding view with a casual cafe atmosphere. The service was attentive and the food was fresh, we had the seafood platter, the antipasto platter and the swimmer prawns. With a glass of Blanc de Blanc it was a relaxing way to while away a few hours. Thank you to Miss H who is an outstanding host.
Tiffany Delacqua
I was definitely expecting more, not much of an atmosphere however the view was lovely and the staff were great. We were stranded in the cold with a long wait for a taxi, one staff member was kind enough to drive us to healesville which was out of her way.
Vkap8
Very disappointing food overall. Everything had a high salt content, food didn't seem fresh, and no pairing suggestions.
Overall a big let down. Give it a miss

We went there as a group of ten. It took ages before any one came to the table to offer some wine. Partner went to the bar to order some sparkling wine and was told we do t do takeaway! Sorry my partner said but it's for the table of ten. It then took just over 15 minutes to receive our wine. The meals arrived and were great , but not once were we offered more wine with our meal and our water glasses which were filled once. We were left to ourselves. I went to the water jug station and asked staff is it ok to get a jug of water and was told make sure its a full jug of water, then the waiter said oh hang on i will attend your table. Dessert was offered but after about 20 minutes the waiter came back and said sorry have lost your order. We reordered and it eventually arrived. In the mean time we saw several couples standing at the door to the restaurant waiting to be shown a table. The restaurant was half full at this stage and on the lunch crowd had mostly gone. Staff were busy chatting to one another ignoring waiting patrons. After being there 3 hours I used the toilets twice. They started out clean but on my second visit they stank and were filthy. I'm told the same about the women's toilets. Domain Chandon could have made far more money out of us with extra wine sales but alas they were not interested in making money. We won't be back.
Easternsuburbs_explorer
Enjoyable lunch.. We visited Chandon for lunch as included in a winery tour and were not disappointed.

We started with an antipasto platter, followed by a choice of three mains. My partner and I both chose the slow cooked lamb with horseradish and were not disappointed. The lamb was delicious, soft and fell apart.

We also had no issues with the service, even though the restaurant was really busy and as part of a winery tour we probably weren't the top priority.
Loz
I'm suprised that ppl don't like it! Sure, it's pricey and not at all intimate, but the cheese platter and champers is wonderful. And the shop nearby sells all kinds if goodies
Ilovefood
Underwhelming. I visited out of interest since the room has had a bit of a refurb and change of direction with menu. We were shown to a dirty table which was wiped down by the staff members hand. The menu read ok and is based on tapas and sharing plates. The cutlery was given to us in a bizarre cardboard contraption (completely useless and certainly not making any effort towards sustainability and limiting excess packaging). The service, whilst friendly enough, was on the reactive side rather than proactive. The food, whilst presenting nicely, was woefully under seasoned. I left unimpressed and doubt I will return in a hurry.
WD
The worst place in Vic. Awful service. First and last Time we will come.
Kamblem
Awful Service!!. We have been coming here for years, but haven't received this kind of service ever!! We arrived at 3.15pm and the waiter said we have 3 mins to order and then left to find out if they have everything on the menu?? Bread was served after the main course but not without a reminder. No atmosphere, in-spite of informing us that we can stay till 6pm, the unwelcome staff attitude made us leave . The duck was too bitter, risotto bland and the portion size too small. We like coming here, but will have to think twice next time.
Ilovefood
Gorgeous views!. The food was also excellent. You can order food off the menu, or make your own food platter from the seafood, charcuterie and cheese bars.
Once you've made your choice, you have to head to the counter to place an order and are given a table number. I would have preferred to have my order taken by a waiter. That would have improved the dining experience. But overall, it was good.

By purchasing a ready made picnic basket, you can enjoy the fresh produce in the lovely, manicured grounds of Domaine Chandon. There is an array of goodies to get any foodie excited - pùté, Serrano Jamon, mixed olives, gravalax, cheese, crackers, a baguette, relish, salads and ice cream. Enjoy with some Chandon sparkling. The below hamper was kindly gifted by the people at Domaine Chandon & Undertow Media.
Gourmet picnic boxes are $150 for two people, excluding wine.

T and I set out on a road trip with the best intentions of visiting animals and artwork, appreciating the splendor of nature and etc etc. We set out with the aim of getting to Healesville Sanctuary around lunchtime and had envisioned an afternoon of cuddling koalas and contemplating the meaning of paint splatters. However the highway was filled with signs pointing for wineries and breweries and when we pulled up into Domaine Chandon, we told ourselves that we’d only stay for 30mins. It was a honourable thought. After tasting the selection, we took a tour around the winery and ended up staying for a light meal. For the type of venue that this was, the menu was well put together. There were many recognisable ingredients and traditional dishes so as to appease the conventional diner, i.e. a beautifully tender rack of lamb for T. However there were also a few bold choices to challenge and excite, i.e. crunchy zucchini flowers filled with dollops of creamy ricotta. Basking in the afterglow
Andrew Turner
We found the service friendly, attentive and efficient. The bill with several glasses of wine came to $240 which didn't seem over the top given the quality of the food and wine. The afternoon we visited there were a reasonable number of flies around, and as guests were regularly using the sliding restaurant doors to wander in and out of the beautiful garden, plenty had made it inside, and certainly knew when our mains arrived. There isn't much that could be done, but it did leave a distinct entry in the memory bank. Domaine is certainly worth a visit if you are in the Yarra Valley for the combination of the food, wine and vistas.
