Review Lazerpig - Collingwood

Quincy Malesovas
If I'm being completely honest, I think Lazerpig is slightly overrated considering what you get for the price, but they do make a decent pizza. It's not my favourite in terms of base and toppings, but the interesting flavour combos bump it up a notch. The broccoli pie is particularly good with great garlicky flavour and plenty of greens. I'd be interested to go back and try it fresh in store.

The good: Staff and service was friendly and the base was pretty good (both gluten free and regular) The bad: pretty much everything else. The tiny amount of lamb that was on the pizza was dry and tasted days old, the sauce on the base was overly oily and the chefs prepared all of the food (ours and the takeaway orders) without masks on For $28 per pizza there are far better options than Laserpig

Was pretty impressed that you couldn't tell which pizza was my coeliac friendly one and the lamb was delicious ... but the lamb pretty much makes up the 2 stars. The pizza was very sparse on toppings, very oily and we both (coeliac and non-coeliac) felt very bloated and sluggish the next day. Friendly staff and good service, but the pizza isn't great.

My go to place for pizza recently!! The pizza base isn’t too thick or thin with great texture and the tomato sauce is full of flavour! Not to mention they use SAN Daniele prosciutto which is my fave! Awesome atmosphere and this place is always buzzing! Service is great and the food always comes out at a decent time frame. Plenty of car parks around and has an outdoor area if you have a fur baby! The bar is fully stocked and music is decent too! Will be back again!

They've got good pizza. Really loud though, and I mean "I can't hear myself think"-loud, and had to scream for my partner to hear me across the table. The temperature was way too cold inside.

Pizza here Is ok, I definitely wouldn't say that it is the best wood fired pizza that I have had. The crust of the pizzas that we had ordered was super hard and quite difficult to bite through, toppings ratio was also not too bad. Service is ok, nothing too special. Won't be coming back too soon as there are other places that do woodfire much better.

My favourite pizza in Melbourne. Great combos, good taps, and while it’s a little loud, the food more than makes up for it.

Nice atmosphere and music. We ordered Queen Margarita pizzas which were OK...They could be more generous with the basil. Also not enough vegetarian pizzas. The arancini was great !

Our go to lunch spot with one of Collingwood’s best lunch deals: a 10-inch pizza and a soft drink for a comfortable $15.

What we liked and didn’t like so much.

👍👍👍
* Ronny J, get it. I have been here about 30 times (yes, we go a lot) and this never fails to disappoint
* The burger lunch deal is actually surprisingly good
* Friendly staff, I’ve always enjoyed the service there

👎👎👎
* If you’re considering Mary had a little lamb, just know that it really is only a little bit of lamb
* Bring the deep dish pizzas to the lunch deal please!

Would we gogo again?
Yes, we have been many times and it will continue to be one of our Friday lunch staples!

Great pizza, cool vibe. However unfriendly bar staff never made me feel welcome. Also, I asked for chilli flakes on my pizza, they brought me hot sauce...:didn’t realise it was a $4?!?! Food for thought..

Sat down for a quick bite to eat at 6:10pm as we were headed to a concert at 8:30pm in the city.

Ordered straight away and our food arrived at 7:50pm after a variety of explainations for the delay. In the meantime every other table in the place got their food. One waitress showed genuine empathy, the rest couldn’t care and gave fake smiles.

We were going to walk out after an hour but we’re told our pizzas were 5 minutes away, shock horror they weren’t.

In the end we missed the start of our show by 30 minutes, a big waste for pizzas that were burnt

Dim, funky, great pizza.

The bases are soft, has a bit of a chew, has a light crispness and char, but the dough itself has its own developed flavour.

* Mary had a little lamb – great combination of flavours including garlic, lamb, red onion, fresh cheese and rosemary.

* Hand cut chips – a little sad looking unfortunately. Yes it’s a little rustic, but it’s a little wilted and wrinkled.

Probably one of the best pizzas I’ve had in Melbourne, but probably skip the chips.

I came here expecting great things as their pizza at the truffle festival was excellent. I was a little disappointed. They have an excellent range of beers and a good lunch time deal. I came early on a Saturday and really didn’t get any serviced; had to get my own menu, seat myself and order at the bar. The food came quickly but there was something that just wasn’t quite right right with the pizza dough and the tomatoes seemed a bit too acidic (my 4 yo remarked it was spicy and had to convince her there wasn’t anything spicy added). The chips were good. So not sure if I’d return with so much competition in the area.
Bleh. A place like Lazerpig gives hipsters a bad name. Is this what being hip is about? Having to shout at and strain to hear your dining companions over the needlessly loud music? We arrived at 8 pm on Friday to be told that it would be an hour’s wait for a table. Fair enough. So we adjourned to The Moon nearby for a drink while we wait for the call informing us a table is ready. When the server materialized with our pizza, we couldn’t decipher what he was saying due to the needlessly loud music. Then he unceremoniously plonked our pizzas in front of us and sashayed away. Midway through our pizzas, when I didn’t think the needlessly loud music could get any louder, it did. Honestly, the pizzas while good weren’t worth the hour’s wait for a table. If you are too cool for school and want a hipster pizza, Lazerpig fits the bill. If you want a proper Italian pizza, the likes of DOC comes to mind.

Recommanded by friend, the pizza was over baked and hand cut chips was quite hard to eat.
The interio was good, the pizza base is not hand made.
FoodieInMel
Nice place, inside is restaurant and the other side is more casual bar style dinners, great for drinks, fantastic selection of tap beer and spirits, the pizza was very delicious, however was a bit overpriced here.

Love eating here. One of the best pizzas going round and the burgers and chips are pretty good too. Can’t forget the hot sauce. Always get looked after by the staff. Keep it up!

There was a mouse poo at the bottom of my soft drink. Yes, of course Collingwood has a mouse problem (I work nearby and it's an issue at the office too) but be more careful guys! Especially when you're charging a premium price for your pizzas. Should have taken a photo but I was at a work lunch and didn't want to make a fuss. Keep an eye out! The pizza was really good though. Like, really really good.

Was taken here by a friend and overall was impressed! The lunch deal is good value for $15, for which you can get any pizza excluding deep dish options and a drink. While the normal pizzas did have a nice woodfired crust, the toppings were quite ordinary. The ‘Mary had a little lamb’ pizza in particular contained lamb pieces that were very salty and the lack of tzatziki or other refreshing element resulted in it being a slightly unbalanced and salty dish. The ‘Larry’ deep dish pizza was loaded with cheese and mushrooms and was easily the highlight of our visit- definitely a must try. Service is also friendly and efficient. Will definitely come back to try the other pizzazz in the near future 🍕🍕🤤

This place is horrible. Service is non existent. Find yourself a table. Wait 20 minutes in an empty restaurant. A spaced out waiter will come and put a bottle of water on your table. Wait another 20 minutes and tell him your order. He doesn't write it down and gets it wrong.

Food is average. Not worth the wait. Would recommend you go to anywhere else but here.
Renee Bussell
Visited here with friends,
As per most of the other reviews, food is decent but not amazing. Server was a bit “spaced out” and didn’t write down the order and we never got our arancini. Happy to have tried it out but wouldn’t hurry back anytime soon.
Gayle Athanasiadis
Totally impressed by the gluten free base and dairy free cheese options, and the hand cut chips however that is probably the only good thing about the place.
Despite having a half empty restaurant for over half an hour we were still told there was a 45 min wait to be seated.
We were not given water, cutlery or napkins until we asked for them.
We also had to wait around 10 minutes for a waiter to take our orders.
Half of our table ordered burgers and the other half ordered pizza. The burgers came out within 5-10 minutes. The “starters” of chips and pumpkin Mac and Cheese we had intended to share amongst the table didn’t arrive until after the burgers but before the pizzas. The wait on the pizzas was so long that the people at our table who had ordered burgers were finished before we had even received our pizzas.
We had to call over the wait staff on several occasions to order more drinks, ask for more water and ask for the cheque.
The service here is pretty darn crap. Which is such a shame because the food is really good.
I get the impression that at one point this place had great customer service AND food but became became popular and they stopped caring so much because their name now serves them well
James Or
Pizza was really good and the ambience was nice. But we waited 40 MINUTES for our pizzas on a week night and the staff didn't even apologise for the wait. The restaurant wasn't even full. If that's normal, then it's really not good enough.
Aoife Kenny
hand collected pizza. I ordered an il classic pizza. The pizza was cold, overcooked and nothing special. My roommate ordered three laserpig pizzas during the week with friends and had a similar experience; overcooked dry pizzas. Safe to say my household and I will not be ordering from here again. Lazerpig pizzas were famous at one stage. Now they are 100% all hype and over rated
Whalesfoodadventure
Absolutely love the pizza here. Its abit loud to eat in here but the food is totally worth it. Best pizza dough ive ever had. The chips were also cooked really well
Lin B
Hands down one of the best pizzas i have ever eaten. The sauce is epic... crust nice and thin and not soggy. Venue is cool.and food comes out super quick. Only bad thing was asking for fresh chilli with pizza ane being charged 2 bucks for it. Just a principle thing really. Definitely try this pizza - you won't be disappointed.

I usually avoid the north but I was excited to visit Lazerpig! At first I thought Lazerpig was some sort of pork tonkatsu or ribs restaurant so I was so surprised when I discovered it was a Pizza restaurant disguised as a pub!
The pizza was indeed pretty good but what made the difference for me was the chilli oil available at each table, which elevated the flavour of the pizza perfectly.
Arancini was ok, and the buffalo mozzerella with olive bread was gorgeous with fresh basil.

I'd definitely return if I was in the area.
Fitore Bardiqi
Pizza was really good, I mean it's hard to get pizza wrong, but two things really bugged me:
The waitress with the mullet just put down drinks on the corner of the table and waltzed off. May I suggest she say something to the effect of "Who has the G&T?" and put it down like a, y'know, waitress. And THEN, she HANDED my friend the hot pizza tray which she was holding with a tea towel. As in she put a very hot tray into someone's hands instead of putting it on the table. My pal said "Ow, hot!!" and she, again, waltzed off.
They played the most god-awful music, like just pure abrasive white noise which I guess is some really cool band I've never heard of.

Came here unexpectedly with a friend on a Sunday night after finding a car space very close and walking past. The mood and vibe of the place was popping so we decided to give it a go without realising it was a pizza parlour. (not that that would’ve mattered!) All the pizzas sounded mouth watering so when the waitress asked if we were ready I just said yes and winged the ordering.
The décor was cool, modern with a huge disco ball in the main dining area. It was fairly loud but being a Sunday night to be expected and I look at a crowd as a sign of good tucker.

Ordered the Prosciutto and grilled sourdough and the prawn pizza. The S/D and prosciutto was so simple, yet delicious and just made me re appreciate the value of simplicity when using quality ingredients. The table all had an accompaniment of a light chilli infused oil which also soaked into the bread. Mmmmm, and as I mentioned the spice level is fairly low so don’t be intimidated by the chilli’s.
The pizza again was something I chase in a pizza after having visited Italy, a thin crust and simple ingredients that will leave you content but still able to move. We also drizzled that delicious chilli oil all over that bad boy. Note on a Sunday night the Queen Margarita is on special for $15 and although I don’t regret my order, when I return I’d definitely order it.

Staff were friendly especially the bar tender when explaining the range of beers they had on tap, which were set at your standard Melbourne prices. The place was full, so I had to wait a few minutes to pay however, if you have worked in hospitality before, you’d understand and appreciate that you can’t do it all at once so it played no negative impact on my dining experience.

Will definitely be back and will recommend to others!
@esjaysam
Great Pizza! Came in for a casual Tuesday night dinner and very much enjoyed the food. The pizza was wood fired and had a light and crunchy sourdough crust, with the standout being the “Queen Margherita”. Set just off Smith St, the place has a casual vibe. However, as a local I can tell you that it can get quite loud and boisterous towards the weekend!
Food Comatose
One of my favourite pizza parlours in Melbourne. Lazerpig serves authentic Italian pizzas, wood fired of course, paired with the laid back vibe you can only find in Collingwood. The disco ball and pink walls are EVERYTHING.
Edgar Darmawan
Amazing pizza! Place was a little run down - much like a pub feel to it, but the pizza was amazing. Tried the burger as well which was decent as well. One of the better pizzas I've had in Melbourne, and I've had quite a few good ones around town and in the Yarra Valley.
Steph
Amazing pizza in a neon lit cosy bar with tall bar tables to eat around. There’s always some sort of live artist or should playing and a really chilled out vibe going on. Definitely a great little nook to go to in Collingwood!
JtotheG
Consistently good pizza. My favourite would have to be the prosciutto one and I love the habanero sauce they serve with chips. It's a go to for work team lunches and they do gluten free bases and vegan cheese too.

My friends and I came into for a dinner on Friday and wanted to send you some feedback about our experience.

It all started when the waiter brought us over the wrong wine even after trying and asking for rose, we got something completely different. They didn’t listen to us and it was all rushed and it was if we were an inconvenience to the staff. Not a good start

The service and experience was beyond horrible. The wait time for our pizzas, entree, was well over an hour. There was no apology or explanation upon asking several times. The staff were rude and complacent. I was shocked. It was beyond a joke and for the money we paid I was no impressed or happy.

After spending years of lunch’s and dinners at Lazerpig I noticed all the portion sizes at this dinner we’re super small and we had to ask for lots of extras to make up for it.

Our bill was really expensive and I left feeling cheated and spending a lot of money and not really feeling the value like I used to and the service was so slow it didn’t feel premium anymore, the staff were more interested in closing down the restaurant then customer service. All and all I was disappointed, so please I hope my feedback helps you improve, and the staff aren’t so rushed and rude next time

What is the worst part of this, is when i contacted them all they said was its Friday nights were busy and ignored my feedback facebook. Horrible and bad customer service. You have lost a very loyal customer.
Melace
delicious food, amazing staff! Our waiter was kind enough to get a coffee for my friend and I from across the road and swapped this out for the drink that was included in the lunch deal (at no extra cost). So lovely
Ester
The music is way too loud, it’s like eating in a nightclub, which is a shame because the pizza is some of the best in Melbourne. The base is just right & has a great sourdough taste to it. Great sauce, great cheese... but you might want to get it to take away unless disco restaurants are your thing
Kate McCallum
I LOVE coming here and have been for a long time. But I have to say it is so disappointing when ‘chilli oil’ is on the table but the oil has absolutely no spice at all. Please please please put some real chilli in that oil. Pizzas are always amazing, the tropical Melbourne is my favourite and I am normally a hater of pineapple on pizza.
We Know This Place
I wasn’t feeling like anything extravagant burger-wise and went for just the normal Lazerpig Cheeseburger with a serving of chips on the side as well. The burger was on the smaller side. However, the sweet brioche bun and tasty cheese combination were really nice! I liked the pickles, which were also very sweet and complimented the buns pleasantly. The patty was tasty, succulent and cooked medium which is exactly how I like it! Overall it was a pretty decent burger. For my dish, the chips were probably the biggest standout. They still had some skin from the potato on them and reminded me of the homemade chips that my grandmother used to make. They were salty, crispy and just beautiful. The only thing they were missing was an aioli sauce or something similar on the side. Regardless the chips alone are incredible and would be a perfect snack to eat while having a few drinks from the bar.

Service at this place was terrible! I ordered a cheeseburger with fries and not only did the waitress forget our tables orders twice but a second waiter had to clarify if I wanted my cheeseburger with fries or a separate serve of fries. To make things worse I got charged the price of separate fries which is not what I ordered and who in their right mind is going to pay $8 for fries.
SJFU
Had the Fun Guy pizza and it was excellent. The thin, crispy and flavourful sourdough base stands out as one my favourites in Melbourne. Nice touch that they also have a few basic Pidapipo flavours on offer.
Danny Kara
Pros: Amazing pizza! Really happy! Cons: 6 of us got a table that was for 4. Regular coke is quite small. Very loud, could not hear my friends talk.
Kelly Belly
If you like your pizza with a side of disco, this is the place for you. I must say the pizza is top notch, but avoid Saturday nights if you want to emerge sans tinnitus. The noise level here is epic, but hey, I’m also old and grumpy. The kids seem to enjoy it.
Alind Tiwari
Nice Pizza and wonderful ambiance. Must try pizza and their wine. Pizza base are perfectly cooked and sauce have its freshness which just relish over the taste buds. I would surely love to go here again.
I'm Batman
Supposedly today is pizza day (a quick google search confirmed that), but I wanted a burger and so I had a 'porque no los dos' moment and thus a visit was prompted here.

The pizzas were excellent. Sticks to its Italian roots, nice thin crust, excellent toppings, cannot fault it (though not as good a Doc pizza 😏).

I also ordered a cheeseburger and of course it had to come with double cheese + patty. I kinda like my burger patties to be roughly the same size as the buns but I get that having bigger buns actually means the burg holds up better which means you don't end up eating a mess later on. I cannot fault anything about this burger, sauce was tasty, bun was soft, patties oozing in juices, crispy & tangy pickles.

I probably said 'cannot fault it' a tad bit much but Lazerpig is one of those consistently amazing restobars in Fitzroy since opening a few years ago. If you want pizzas and burgs, come here.
Shabbytwoob
Good people, good pizza, chili oil and love. This place is amazing. We usually get the Ronny J but nothing is ever disappointing. My partners froths over the arancini balls.
Brunch Diaries
Really good pizza, funny that they don’t advertise the sourdough base as It really makes a difference. It seems to make the base crispier. The Sugo is really tasty too. Service is pretty good for such a busy place.
TL
Lunchtime special ! $15 for a pizza and drink. Good place to drop into during the week for a quick lunch or after work for a drink. Multiple seating areas including outside out front.
MelbFood
An institution in Melbourne. Lazerpigs pizza is different, but better. This place is always busy. Best to take away the pizza and have a beet while you are waiting. Good space to have drinks with friends on a sunny day!
Vegetarian Food Lover
Went here for drinks with friends & ordered a large queen margherita pizza for only $10 during happy hour (4-6pm). That would be my best value for money pizza ever & it tasted amazing! The pizza base was thin & crispy with a good amount of buffalo mozzarella on top. I’ll definitely come back here for delicious $10 pizza. Don’t bother with the chilli oil on the table as all I tasted was the olive oil.
Vege Eats
Came here with a group of 12 friends so we had to do the set $35 menu. I wasn’t feeling too well so didn’t really try too much but my friends all loved the antipasto and pizzas. Had a small try of the mushroom and margarita and both were tasty and the base was really nice and puffy!
Georgia Dawson
This is by far the best pizza I have ever had. But wait. I'm not done there. Their service was absolutely impeccable. One of our clumsy guest spilt their beer on the pizza ..... And they replaced it....... Free of charge. This place has the friendliest staff and the most amazing pizzas you'll ever have. Their sourdough base is to die for. Would recommend: Up There Caprese, Funguy and Ronnie J. THE BEST.
Hangry Horace
Came here for a quick lunch on a weekday with a couple of friends and was pleasantly surprised. The vibe was very chic and the pizzas were quite delightful. I ordered the Ronny J pizza and thoroughly enjoyed it. Service was also friendly and efficient.
Bachd3
Without a doubt one of the TOP pizza places in Melbourne. If you consider yourself a pizza connoisseur and haven’t tasted laxer pig...do you even like pizza?
Pizza Professor
I believe this is the sister restaurant to A boy named sue which I have previously reviewed and they are both quite similar in what they deliver. It’s a funky den type restaurant with a buzzing bar next door. The same pizzas as ABNS with a different atmosphere (buzzing, loud, disco ball from the roof). I enjoyed the table cloths and pizza was delicious but lacked the visible wood fired oven which I always seek.
Karlye
Aaand here comes my first 5.0 rating. If you haven't tried Lazerpig pizza, it is not too late. Drop what you're doing and go get one NOW.

This pizza is almost too good for words. It has been my #1 for years now and has made biting into any other woodfired margherita pizza a sad experience.

The Godsent pizza aside, the rest of the experience at Lazerpig is tops; The atmosphere created by the red lights and spinning mirror balls, the beer selection, the awesome staff, the location... 10/10! Oh and did I mention the amazing pizza?
Dimsumforone
Ratio Decidendi: I’m all ’bout that bas(e), ’bout that bas(e), no treble. It’s the base that separates Lazerpig from the competition. All too often thin pizza comes with a serve of soggyness but at Lazerpig they’ve managed to retain the crunch in a thin base that somehow still has that signature sourdough chew through it. Haven’t yet tried a pizza topping that I’ve disliked but as with any first time pizza order, I’d suggest starting with the Margherita to fully appreciate Lazerpig’s brilliance.
Danielle Wilson
$15 for a 10 inch pizza and drink. Hell yeah. Craving pizza for a hangover - easy peasy. Great lunch. Had the queen margarita. Really yummy sweet tomatoey cheesy goodness. Definitely hit the spot
Jikon Lai
The food was OK but I was led to believe that it would be good if not great. Alas... I cannot see myself returning not when I can easily find far better pizzas elsewhere.
Casey Mick
Pizza is amazing. Service is a joke. Still me go to pizza joint everytime. If the service wasn't full of hipsters than I would of gave it 5 out 5.
Amara D'Wilde
Best Ameretto Sour in town! Always a tasty, consistent pizza. Crowd can really impact the mood though and staff can also be super inconsistent.
Cal Watson
Amazing!!!
Great space, fantastic service and arguably the best one of the best pizzas I've had!
Well worth finding this little gem.
Keep up the good work guys : )
TYon
Best pizza that I've had in Melbourne. Ronny J and Mary had a little lamb.. burgers are good too. Prosciutto pizza is my partner's favourite. Biggest disco ball I've ever seen, blindingly pretty.
Rebekah Jade Culhane
Never disappointed by the pizza here. Have been going here a lot more now that it is open every day for lunch. There is a lunch special where you get a 10" pizza with a drink for $15 or if you don't want a drink then you can get a 12" pizza for $15.
There are so many good options but the Mark Prosciutto is a favourite.
Some of the best pizza that you can get in Melbourne!
Expensive Delicious Habit.
Lazerpig always rates in the top pizza lists of Melbourne, and it's for a reason. In a side street in Collingwood, it's easy to find with a giant neon pig outside We visited on a cold Friday and sat near the open fire for max cosiness. We took advantage of the lunchtime special: a pizza and a beer/cider for $15.A great way to spend an afternoon, with good woodfired pizzas and a fun atmosphere.

Love this place. Pizza's (+ pastas) and drinks are great as is the service. There's always a great vibe and you could quite simply head down for dinner and come home feeling like you've had an amazing night out. Great work guys!
Yuan Diego
I can't believe I haven't tried you earlier! After a work colleague recommended this place over Shawcross, I had to try it this weekend. Ordered the Margherita with Salami, Ronny J and the Cauliflower Arancini balls and man, it was amazing. I think I was actually saying every minute - holy cow this is good and seeing through time. Worth checking out. Service was so so and slow but man, the food made up for it!
Delishmama
Pretty average, little bit over price compare to other place and service is just so average too. Some staff looks to cool to served you.
No rushing to go back.
Suf
The best pizza in Collingwood, just don't get the pizza to takeaway. I reckon this is the best pizza in Melbourne. The service is great and the vibe is brilliant - just book ahead for a Sunday.

I’ve had a few bad experiences when getting the pizza to takeaway but if you eat in there are no issues.
Fiona
Really delicious pizzas at a price point you can't argue with. Consistently good pizzas aided by a delicious Neapolitan base and deliciously tasty chewy dough with that sweet sweet gluten. They do some really interesting toppings (like the broccoli!) and all the combos are faultless. Highly recommended.

Insider tip - I think the Caprese is a better margarita than the margaritas!

Beware - when ordering from Uber etc they are always running half an hour late.

If you want to be the hipsteriest hipster you must grab a table outside this venue! Make sure you are loud so everyone looks at you and knows you're there! this place is so hipster you will over pay for pizza, and that's not all.... not only will the service be terrible, the staff are rude too! this hidden gem just off smith st will totally boost your wanker hipster cred. Make sure to upload an insta pic and hashtag away!.... #wankplace

Not sure I've ever given a 5 but lazerpig deserves a bloody 10! Finally tried it after lusting over it for ages. Was so good I've been dreaming of it ever since. HIGHLY recommend the broccoli pizza, its cheesy and pesto-y to the extreme. Heavvvyyyyyyy garlic but who doesn't love that. The margs had bocconcini AND mozza, a double combo which isn't the usual for margs these days. I was very chuffed! staff/service/venue all top notch aswell.
Stunsail
Love this place. Their pizzas won't win any beauty awards but are very tasty. I'm gradually working my way through the menu but the Broc Steady (order it just for the name) and Fun Guy have really hit the spot so far. Venue is a warm and friendly environment and while the inside should be a bunch of clashing styles (old exposed brickwork and red & white Italian tablecloths meets Collingwood disco) it actually all gels together really well.
Roblast112
Pretty good pizza and good sides. Staff were surly and trying a little hard but I'm not there for them. The food was good enough to want to go back.

I know everyone raves about this place, but the pizza I had was supremely average. My friend and I ordered the pork belly to share and when it was delivered to the table, my friend commented that we hadn't ordered the eggplant pizza. On closer inspection, what we initially thought was eggplant actually was the pork belly; it was unfortunate that the colour - a dull and uninspired grey - made the whole thing completely unappetising. I'll come back to try another pizza given its cult-like status in the area, but the pork belly is definitely not where it's at.
Richie
I'm sort of confused last time I signed a napkin for you guys because I'm kind of a big deal and you said you'd frame it but I couldn't find it on the wall next time maybe I didn't look hard enough anyway 5 stars keep chasing that rainbow

The pizzas are amazing , but in all honesty the burgers are the best! Keep up the vibes and great food and drink lazer pig , will be seeing you soon 🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷🐷

Lazerpig is split into a bar and a restaurant and even on a Sunday evening it was quite busy. It is on the corner of an otherwise quiet part of Collingwood. Lots of free parking nearby.

Round tiny tables for two inside. They have a large silver ball hanging from the ceiling. Loud jukebox music.

Drinks list had the usual beers and wine with 5-10 cocktails. I went straight for the margarita which does not come in margarita glass but is quite tasty.

It is known for its pizza i guess as they do pizza delivery and this became quite obvious when a pile of empty delivery boxes fell on my dining companions noggin.

They only have one pasta dish - penne pasta and a lasagna dish. Limited in salads. They also do burgers. Go figure. ..We went straight for the Mary had a little lamb pizza which was quite good but had burnt edges and had scant pieces of lamb and feta but was rampant with olives. The arancini balls were quite bland. Not cheesy and had a slight thyme flavour.

Pizzas are in the 19-25 bucks range which i think is slightly expensive but then again I wouldn't know as i barely ever go out for pizza.
Brais Pena Sánchez
The pizzas options don't look interesting. We order two and they were too burnt, it shouldn't be served that bad. The service was good though.
Alexia Kara
If you're a lover of pizza then this is the place to go! The base is cooked to perfection, crunchy, thin crust covered with a tasty tomato sauce and minimal but just enough toppings. The Italian Stallion I recommend!

Service was great, good selection of wines accompanied with a great vibe and funky music.

We will be back.
EsmeEats
I always like to judge a place by how well they can master a margarita and damn this place does it well. The base was thin/wood smoked with that chewy taste in the crust, the tomato sauce had tons of flavour and the ratio of cheese was perfect. We also ordered the mushroom pizza which was beautiful and the chips (not usually a chip person but these were mmm) - will definitely be ordering again!

Most amazing pizza I've ever had.
The bases are the perfectly thickness, the toppings are amazing. Service is wonderful and atmosphere is great. I have been here about 5 times in the last year and everytime I go remember why I love it so much.
Thank you for making my pizza so great.
David C
I'm changing my review after going there maybe 20 times a year for the last few years. I love the place. The pizza base is the best in Melbourne. The staff are a mixed bunch, very friendly to standoffish hipster but always working hard and attentive. The only negative is that they take my favourite pizzas off the menu, Violet Femme, Lazerpig to the rescue and more recently The Carbonara. I would highly recommend. Burgers and chips are good too.

I ate a take away Mark Prosciutto (??) pizza from here. I can't say I relate to the branding of this pizza resto in any sense, but the pizza, the slice itself? Yeah, that's something special. Enjoyed this pizza. This is an authentic type pizza but definitely takes unconventional cues from fast food culture creating a whole which really suits me. The crust is special imo, plenty dry, but chewy and delicious with a sourdough tang. The pizza sauce has very much has the taste of Pizza Shapes, which is quite unique in actual pizza. Fior di Latte is quality. San Danielle Prosciutto slathers the top of this pizza, probably the most "loaded" prosciutto pizza I ever ate.
NB this was the most expensive pizza on menu at $24

Pizza can be easily adapted into something suitable for fructose- and lactose-intolerant people, as you can usually customise the toppings and choose a gluten-free base. Pity I don’t love pizza (I know, I know), which is why I ordered a pasta the first time I visited Lazerpig, even though it wasn’t available in a gluten-free version and despite the waiter’s warning that the pre-made sauce had garlic in it.
Memtree
Wow! Amazing woodfired sourdough pizza that will have you licking up all the crumbs. We giggled about some of the creative pizza names then smashed the Australiano pizza in record time. So flavoursome, we wished we had slowed down to savour the flavour some more. Bloody Menace cocktail was spicy but delish. Roast peppers salad was quite good but way too much raw onion for our liking. Will definitely be back and can't believe it has taken us so long to come here!

Much like the iconography of a flying pig shooting lasers, Lazerpig on Peel Street is awesome, cool and mostly memorable. There isn’t many pizzerias around this way of town and certainly none that have a distinct half dining area half bar area. This place is quite big on music with occasional DJs which isn’t quite my scene since I like my only sounds being primarily eating-based.
Ck
The pizzas are good, tasty - Australiano my favourite. BUT, it seems the kitchen can't handle it being busy - the wait during lunchtime midweek ( Thursday/ Friday) is way too long - almost 40-50mins the last 3 times. If the these waits continue - we will stop going there. If the kitchen got their act together it would be a 5 star easy!

Definitely an interesting and worthwhile dining experience! Funky Drake beats blasting as you eat; a little loud at times, but no complaints.

We ordered the garlic focaccia and two Mark Prosciutto's. The garlic focaccia was really flavoursome and a solid size for the price. However, like the two pizzas, the edges of the crust got quite burnt in some bits - definitely shows that it's authentically woodfired, which is awesome, but not so awesome when you can't eat the whole thing.

Other than the slightly burnt bases, the pizzas were sizeable and delicious. The sauce had quite a strong flavour, with a hint of garlic, and there was a LOT of it. I can appreciate both, but not together. But each to their own.

I have to give this place a 5 because I was pretty drunk, yet sure I enjoyed the experience. I remember the staff being great. Remember drinking the small, yet class, selection of craft ales. The pizzas were simple, classic, authentic Italian. I could still taste their flavours as I burped in the police car.

As I watched the CCTV at my trial, I was amazed by the amount of takeaway pizzas being dished out. The constant flow of pizza lovers coming, going, drinking, eating and laughing. Confused by the line of Deliveroo drivers blocking the toilet entrance with their huge delivery boxes and refusing to move. That's when it began. Someone called 000.

BTW: The above is BS. Apart from my praise for Lazerpig and hate of Deliveroo people who get in your way, like they're playing a giant game of 3D Tetris.
Lin Chun Man
We ordered salad and pizza, service is good and the food is not bad except the pizza is a little burnt and we waited for over half an hour because there was too many people that night.
Reba Finn
Beautiful pizzas
I have issues but can tolerate the bases
Choices are great- garlic base or tomato base
My favourite is The Fun Guy
Really funky but I felt safe
Paul
The food here was excellent. Great pizzas which were really fresh and tasty. Service was also very good and a great atmosphere. Busy for good reason!

Ordered pizza's via Deliveroo. I hardly ever eat pizza, so Lazerpig has been on my list of places to try for a long time. Because we had a vegetarian with us we ordered two veggie pizzas and one meat pizza, which we shared with 4. We had the brocolli pizza, the mushroom pizza and the pizza with sausage and Huestbridge honey. The meat pizza was divine, the others were good but not awesome. I liked the mushroom better than the brocolli. Crust wasn't that great, but dry, didn't eat most of the crust.
Tim Keong
Lazerpig is the gold standard for any gourmet pizzas I eat nowadays. Love the terrific pizza dough which is a perfect mix of chewy yet tender. While we have our favourite toppings, all the variations we've tried have been delicious due to nice combinations and quality ingredients. My only complaint is that it can get noisy in the dining area, but the ambience is always warm and friendly in a unique setting.
Jonnoyeo111
Great establishment and vibe. Pizza is great, especially like the mushroom pizza here.
Burgers are also tasty, but the winners here are the pizzas. Crispy tasty bases and great range of flavors.
Jess Chi
Such a shame because this place has so much potential. Pizzas are tasty but service is so pretentious.
Got talked into a $25 set menu which we were told would be heaps of pizzas and 2 sides. With 10 people we had 5 bowls of chips and salad come out ages before pizza did. We finally got 3 pizzas for our group and were asked after whether we needed any more... seriously?
RH
Great pizzas. Skip the burger and stick with the pizzas. The $15 lunch special for a pizza and drink is excellent value. Will be back to try some more for sure!
Marge77
Funky, vintage, old pub atmosphere thats what collingwood is all about. Gourmet pizzas and Fries were fantastic. They have a great little fireplace. Suitable for kids (not prams). My little one (2.5) was bopping to the music in the background while enjoying his fries. He loved the massive disco ball.
Roxanne Hastie
We waited 40 minutes for a drink with staff claiming they lost the order after the first 20 minutes but we still had to wait another 20 minutes after that. Pizza was really average. A boy named sue is much better.
Maria
The pizzas here are really good, but the bad service just keeps surprising us every time. The table service is alright but the people who work at the bar are extremely jaded and vague without exception. I just get frustrated because I like their food but really dislike the customer service, or the lack thereof. And this isn't just a one time thing, we've been there around ten times now and it is always the same. I wish it had been a one time thing though so that I wouldn't have to get my occasional pizzas elsewhere. The pizzas are easily worth a 4, their customer service is closer to 1.
Steve George
Cool hipster joint (I'm not a hipster) that has a weird atmosphere, but I enjoyed it. Went here randomly and had burgers. Double patty and was cooked perfectly. Needed a little bit more sauce which i added and it was great. Really enjoyed it. Tasty and a decent size/price. Would go back. They do however need more burgers on their menu, because when we went (dinner time) they only had one burger on the menu.
Michelle Kelly
Very disappointing visit tonight. After a 30 minute wait in food we did not receive a gluten free pizza which we ordered. As a result the remaining 3 pizzas went cold while waiting for a replacement on the gluten free. When a staff member finally decided to ask if everything was ok, we were told it was our choice to order gluten and as a result had to wait. I had to ask for them to keep our pizzas warm while we wait. 5 minutes later we got the service we should have received the first time and our pizzas were replaced. Too bad they then brought out the wrong pizza. Someone clearly needs to show this guys what customer service actually means.

Street Cred
Sweet place, top notch beer selection, cool bar, quintessential Collingwood scenester hangout.

Booked for a table of 10 for my wifes B'day, confirmed on the phone the day before, and turn up to be told that I hadn't confirmed my booking. The girl who took the call ended up remembering the call and they scrambled to get us sorted.

Ended up getting a long table together in 10 minutes, serving us cracking pizza, and everyone had a great night. The End.

The Prosciutto pizza is dead set 10/10
Tia
The best gf pizza I have had in aaages, maybe even my whole life! Thanks to this I ate the whole thing and am now in a solid food coma, though I could have taken half of it home like all decent humans do.

I chose the mushroom pizza which was delicious change to your regular tomato based pizzas, as this one had mushroom paste generously topped with a few types of mushies, and a bit of cheese. I also had a bite of the margherita, yummo! The menu is interesting, the chips are made from real potatoes (could have more tomato sauce), and the burger apparently wasn't too bad either. Decent feed for 20 dollars. Good cider, too.
I Love FOOD
Food was pretty good here, atmosphere and set up very cool, a real hipster hang-out. If in the area it worth the stop for a drink or snack.
Claire
There's a reason why our team would go here at least once a week! Thin crust, Italian style pizzas and juicy burgers are an all round crowd pleaser. The lunch special for a pot and pizza $15 is a great way to go. Really funky atmosphere, what a pizza parlour should be!
Keith Lawrence
Half bar, half dining room, Lazerpig is never short on atmosphere - and it's certainly one of the hip places of Collingwood.

It's close knit dining as we're squeezed into every conceivable space - but that simply adds to the informality of eating some of the best pizzas in Melbourne. Great flavours with decent number with a garlic base rather than tomato. Thin crust, veggie or meat options - but plenty of extras to chose from should the base pizza not appeal.

The one negative - and my usual gripe about limited wine choices at decent prices - $45+ is boring for an informal place like Lazerpig.
Nom Nomz
Had their $15 lunch special which includes pizza and drink, as well as salad leaves for the table to share. What a steal!

I had the Prawn Fraser and it was yum! Love the thin crust and the portion was perfect for one person. You get to choose your drinks from a selection of beer, cider, wine or soft drinks.

Went there on a sunny day and sat outside, it was just lovely. Would definitely come back for more when I'm craving some carbs and beer!
Mary84
Thank god for Lazerpig. This is easily some of the best pizza in Melbourne. The gluten free base tastes like a regular pizza. An amazing regular pizza. The broccoli pizza is a delicious standout. The only thing that holds it back from 5 stars is the service. Some of the team are brilliant, some just not on the mark at all. Doesn't matter too much as the pizza is worthy of cult following.
KAG
Very hipster place but that didn't bother me. I really enjoyed the pizzas, and burger wasn't too bad either. Very quick on the service of food. I definitely will be back!!
Tabouli Salad
Best pizza in town... The crust is crispy, fluffy and thin all at the same time! Any pizza that has buffalo cheese is amazing! Toppings are generous. Great date vibe. And tomato sauce is in house made which is a total plus! Great work guys!!! Will be coming back very soon.
Hapli
Went for casual drinks and dinner at what looked from the outside like an ordinary pub but was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the pizza was. The tomato based sauce was so flavoursome, definitely the star of the pizza. Tried the garlic based pizza as well which was all good. Great pizza with a cool collingwood vibe. Quite busy, so get in quick for a table or book ahead in the restaurant area.
Food Etc.
One comes to expect a certain level of burger greatness in the inner-north of Melbourne. It’s like it is against their code to make a bad burger or something. I came to Lazerpig with exactly this expectation. One caveat should apply here though: I was feeling a little bit 2nd hand after one too many craft beers the night before, and I’m not entirely sure that my stomach, or taste buds for that matter, were ready for a burger and chips.
Always Choose Pizza
Had a birthday lunch here and consumed some of the best pizza I've had for many moons. Thin crispy base with a fat puffy crust and perfect topping ratios. Paired well with beers. 👌🏽
C
Quality traditional-styled pizza with a laid-back vibe. Outfitted in the style of the bastard child of a cheap Italian restaurant and an oldskool Fitzroy dive bar as fits its location just off the Collingwood side of Smith Street. Other menu items outside the pizzas are also good, and the wine list is more than adequate. Decent selection of both bottled and draught beers as well. Good casual choice.

My pick of the pizzas are the Fun Guy (duh, mushroom!), the Ronny J (I'm a sucker for pork and fennel sausage pizzas), and the Mary had a Little Lamb (Lamb pizza - but it works!).

This is some of the best pizza in Melbourne, and is reasonably priced. They've even started delivering now which makes it even more amaze.

Great! Amazing pizzas, definitely worth a try.
Peperoncino
I won't be original and as before will follow my standard line that I again visited a place according to the hashtag #bestpizzainmelbourne.

Compared to other pizzerias Lazerpig is a modern and hip mix of American and Italian food serving both hearty burgers as well as delicious pizzas. Located close to the busy main street of old Collingwood it has a bar area and restaurant area with both having decent amount of space.
The design and feel is very casual and should fit most occasions although in the evenings it gets a bit dark as all you get is a romantic candle light.
The place was very busy on a weekday evening and I was given an option to wait a few minutes in the bar area for a table to be cleaned and set up. I was seated with a smile by a casually dressed waitress and within seconds provided with water and a menu. I was approached regularly until I made up my mind and ordered an Italiano and a pint of tap pale ale.
The beer was served within 2-3 minutes however the wood fired pizza took about 15 due to the heavy traffic in the kitchen. My empty stomach forgave the delay as my first impression of the pizza was first class! The pizza being almost a perfect circle had a beautiful brown and crunchy crust with very thin base and nicely cooked toppings specifically very good quality mozzarella and salami that melted perfectly. Not only was the taste just great but the overall mix of flavors (dough, ingredients, temperature, wood, oven, etc) was the best I have had for quite a long time. With $19 for such good quality Italian pizza it even beats 400 Gradi by far.
Hardcore pizza aficionados! I can highly recommend Lazerpig for their pizzas and good attentive service. You will not regret.

Heinous. Don't go. Ever ever EVER!!!
Troy Mortleman
Walked past this place plenty of times and thought "must go there" - well today I finally did. Had the $15 lunch option of 11" pizza, soft drink and salad which was great value. Pizzas were beautiful- hand made crusts with fresh toppings. The Italiano had salami, olives and Parmesan - very nice indeed.
Rebeccassunday
Pretty darn tasty pizza l. The margherita dough is perfect, thin and crispy with big bubbles and melting fior de latte. Good tunes and fun pizza flavours. Favourite place for a nice pizza and bev!
Brickparty
Delicious pizzas, the sour dough base is incredible. The burger is also pretty good here. Staff are usually pretty good and the overall experience is great.

So, today we (My brother, Father, and Myself) went to Lazerpig for the first time.
We decided on taking a punt. And boy, oh boy am I glad that we did so.

The pizza was Moorish and fresh. The meat/cheese ratio was not overdone.
Simplicity and good quality ingredients.
An unmistakeable Italian ambience. bricks on the wall, candles on the table, red and white chequerboard tablecloth.
Service with a smile, and the waiter knew exactly what he was talking about.
A DJ was there playing music, which isn't my cup of tea. However it advertises to the correct market.

We had the hand cut chips, tomato relish, rocket salad, queen margarita pizza, and a San Daniele prosciutto + buffalo mozzarella pizza.

1 pizza, a pot of coopers, and a rocket salad for $15 bucks per head on special for lunch.

Can't argue with that.
I'll be back, and I will be telling my friends.
Heather Pearce
I love Lazerpig! This place does great pizzas with soft, tasty bases and traditional toppings. The weekday lunch specials are an absolute bargain-- $15 for a pizza, side salad and pot of Coopers/soft drink! It's rare to find so much quality food for $15 these days! Definitely stop in if you're looking for somewhere to eat in the area.
Olivia Baillie
Delicious pizza and the Mac and Cheese croquettes, out of this world. Pretty sweet and cosy venue too. Can't wait to go back to try more of their pizza.
Nate
Cool place with good sized, thin style pizzas. My favourites would be the lamb and the mushroom pizzas. Solid choice of beers and cocktails too. Only complaints would be that the pizzas are on the oily side and the place is kinda dark but that's to be expected in this kind of place. Would recommend!
Victoria Sandison
I had a great night here with my work colleagues last night. A good selection of beers for the $6 pint happy hour (including Cooper's Stout) and pizzas that even my Italian colleague approved of!

Cosy atmosphere and cute decor, too. I'll definitely be back.
Megan M
A good, solid option for pizza and other italian fare; we tried the whitebait, croquettes and shared a capricciosa pizza. The pizza reminded me a lot of the ones I ate in italy but personally I think the base was just that little bit too thin in the middle - I love to eat pizza with my hands but this was a knife & fork job... was still tasty though, and they had a nice big fireplace in the dining area - perfect for a chilly melbourne night!
FoodieAboutTown
Lazerpig, Lazerpig…. Feels like it should have a theme tune! Love the branding for this place, it’s fun, funky, has the world’s biggest glitter ball and is serving up pizzas for the Smith Street hipsters. Start with a little Antipasto, prosciutto, garlic focacoa, whitebait or……. Mac n cheese croquettes with basil pesto.
Crdav1
Food is fantastic, especially like the sourdough base pizza's and the cheeseburgers, hand cut fries are good too. Great cosy place to enjoy a lazy Sunday afternoon.
Burgers Of Melbourne
Beef Burger: Beef Patty, Lettuce, Tomato, Beetroot, Bacon, Egg and Mayo – comes with a serve of fries: $19.00. The standard burger with fries is $11. An additional patty with cheese adds $5 and the Mac n Cheese croquette adds another $3. Having a candlelight setting I enjoyed an afternoon of beers, burgers and southern fried chicken wings.
Chris
Great pizzas and beers. Service can range between good and shithouse.
Sometimes you need to be wearing the correct tshirt to get served.
I love this place but don't push it

One of the worst pizzas i have eaten. I have no idea what the hype is about. Sloppy ordinary pizza. We left half of our pizzas. Will not return.
ItsTrueFatKidsLoveFood
I've been here a few times, and the pizzas are always good. Good range of beers also on tap, and the atmosphere inside the place is pretty good.
Weeeeee
You don't have to be rude to customers about your failings at providing what you think is customer service.
Renato
Good but expensive pizza - not the best but good quality - but really SLOW & lax service with rude, bad hipster attitude. Great vibe inside though - try a quiet night and go early to get cheaper pizza with less stressed-out wait staff. Bar staff and DJ were good.
Jimmy Willy
Good quality dough but that's where it ends. Toppings were sparce for the price and flavors weren't quite there. Many pizzas were burnt. Ordered hot wings but 15 minutes later they advised me they had run out, on a Friday night at 9pm. Quirky place with great music. Wouldn't rush back for the food.
Ramen Raff
But Lazerpig's cheeseburger ($9 burger along and $11 with chips) with lettuce (can be easily discarded) is another exception. It had beef patty, melted cheese, onion, pickles, and a special sauce in a Breadtop-type soft sweet milk bun. It is simple but superbly tasty!
Lady In Bread
Pew Pew. ...is god.
...is good.

10/10

Every pizza a simple delight.
Beats and Meats and delicious treats.
Aperol Spritzers and tap toeing feets.
Joshy Nom Noms
Sunday lunch. Can you start cooking pizza earlier than 3. You turned 10 people away $$
Kate Grant
Accommodating Staff, Great Food. Had a lunch party and these guys were the closest pizza shop in the area. They open at 12 for lunch but were happy to have my pizza's ready at 12 on the dot for pick up, talk about service! Ordered 8 pizzas and with their $10 pizza lunch special it was super affordable. Tried most of the pizzas now and I definitely like the Melbourne style Hawaiian the best.
Carley Ludlow
Pizza. Delicious and fresh!
Stephanie T
Exceeded my expectations!. Thrilled with the little restaurant and bar.
Great atmosphere and friendly staff. I had made a reservation and arrived 30mins early, I expected to have to wait at the bar, but no, they already had the table set up and ready to go, complete with gingham tablecloth and flickering candle.
Pizza was delicious, and loved the house wine. Definitely a regular spot for us now.
S_camilleri
Happy hour pizza, which is half the price, seems to also equal half the toppings. We got two pizzas and they were both terrible to the point where a couple of slices didn't even have sauce on them let alone cheese!! 4pm-7pm just turned into some seriously unhappy hours at Lazerpig.
Nicole Young
Delicious pizza! My new local and what a fabulous candlelight dinner!
Mifune
Very Respectable Pizza. And a great MGC martini if you are that way inclined...very very dry!!!!
Matthew Cork
Unconventional name with serious pizza making game!. After a few drinks at Mr Wow's down on Smith St, my date and I started getting a little peckish so we both decided to head down to Lazerpig for a bite of pizza. I'd read a few reviews on Broadsheet and in Timeout which were mostly favourable, and being the massive fan of wood-fired pizza that I am, was keen to check it out.

Lazerpig is an inviting, unpretentious and relaxed bar come pizza parlour that's just off the main drag, being Smith St in Collingwood. We rocked in without a booking about 9pm on a Thursday night and the place was busy without needing to wait for a table.

The menu consists mainly of their wood-fired pizza options, however, there are salads, steaks and other things to choose from too.

We ordered the prosciutto pizza with the fish special of the day which was baby snapper on a salad of rocket and pear. Both menu items came out in good time, and to be honest, we both agreed the pizza was excellent, the base being perfectly cooked, thin, crunchy, with the use of high quality ingredients, ie imported prosciutto, buffalo mozzarella really evident. The baby snapper was excellent too - perfectly cooked, well complemented by the salad.

I've been to DOC, 400 Gradi, Pizza Meine Leibe, and several other of Melbourne's so called best pizza joints, and Lazerpig is another that I'll be adding to that list.

In summary, Lazerpig is a fun and quirky place, very much in step with it's proximity to Smith St and it's Collingwood location in general, but they definitely have their sh*t together when it comes to their pizza making credentials. Give it a try!
Modcon76
Warwick capriciosa. Delicious!
Porkonmyfork2014
Pork sausage pizza!. Excellent crust, excellent base, excellent top!
The Lionking Diner
Tad disspointing. Tooom afew mates out for a pizza, we had the proscuitto, the capricosa with pork and margerita and we all felt the pizzas were just Ok.

I had the Capricosa with pork and I founf the pork to be lacking flavour. The dough was good and pizzas were cooked well.

No rush to be back
MiseEnPlace
Down to earth goodness. Here's a place that doesn't take itself too seriously, that uses good quality ingredients and nails the drinks. The place is loud and the music is good - a perfect spot to meet up with some friends and have a drink and some truly excellent pizza. I believe the people behind grace darling are also behind this one, which is not surprising given the vibe. The pizza, though, is worth mentioning alone - perfect ingredients on chewy, fluffy bases that go down an absolute treat. Cool, non-pretentious staff. Tick.

Yuuuuuuummmmmmmmmm. Yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuimmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Delish! we had the broccoli pizza and the Italian one - a good contrast of flavours between the two - and adding the chili oil (as suggested by the waitress) definately boosted the already tasty flavour!! the base was crisp, dough-ey and perfectly yum!
washed down with a beer (bicycle beer) it made for a tasty meal!
the tunes, disco ball and friendly staff added to the great time! looking flawed to coming again :)

Melbournes Best!. Lazerpig pizza now has the title. The Napoli on the base is exceptional, Creamy buffalo mozzarella, basil, dried herbs!! The crust thick, soft, chewy, crisp... The inner base thin, chewy, silky allowing a beautiful tongue when held by hand!

We all look for what is the best and the search is eternal... so the winner for this years best pizza... I'm awarding Lazerpig!
Cruzylena
Wow, wow, wow. The minute we walked in, i immediately loved the warmth emanating from the fireplace, the funky tune being played on the record player, and the whole vibe was just very cosy and a touch bizarre. i loved the huge mirror ball! there were 8 of us who came in to dine - my melbournian friends and i, from sydney who just came down for the weekend.
the food was outstanding. from the antipasto platters, salads, and the most delicious whitebait fritter i've ever had. we ordered 8 different pizzas and really surprised myself- i had 8 huge slices !! the crust was thin, chewy, and the toppings melt in your mouth, generous, and innovative. i didn't feel bloated afterwards probably because it was sourdough. we finished off with tiramisu and sticky date pudding. we were there forever and walked out very full and happy. please open one in sydney !
Treyz007
Best Pizza in town, Hands down!. Had dinner here with family last week, the owner Steve put on a beautiful spread of Antipastas, pizzas (all were great, couldnt pick a favourtite if I tried) and desserts for us! Not one olive, slice or spoonful was left by the time we were finished. Beautiful Decor (Loved the Italian wall, and the oversized disco ball over the service area), cosy (we sat by the open fireplace) and comfortable, friendly staff (we required whell chair access, they acommodated us without batting an eye! Bravo!) and a good wine list to boot! I would highly recommend a for quick bite to eat, long stay or special occassion. Cant wait to get back!! Thanks again Steve all the best!!

Best pizza in town. I'm sure I've just had the best pizza in town! Believe me I have tried them all at least twice!

Not enough topping. I got the pork and apple pizza and there was too much dough..... way too much... needs more topping and the pizza would have been awesome
Ravinloony6996
LAZERPIG it!. This place is a real gem. The pizza and wood fired options are all very good. A must try is the capricciosa with pulled pork shoulder! Yyyyyuum!
Lostarkraider2000
Capricciosa pizza. Fantastic venue, great energy and passion that made this pizza the best I've ever had. A super must try!

Lazerpig is the perfect place to go if you want a decent feed before a night out. When you step in you'll see a bar and the restaurant is tucked behind in a more intimate setting. Gorgeous decor and friendly service. This isn't your run-of-the-mill pizza place; Lazerpig is more about the traditional Italian approach to pizzas which are very thin, crispy bases and minimal but flavoursome toppings. It's not in any way what you're used to in a take away pizza, if you want to try something much more authentic I would definitely make a booking.
Jhansi
Came in last night for a meal with my girlfriend. Live in the area so have been meaning to try for a while. Didn't have a booking but was seated promptly. We had a great waitress, was very friendly, helpful, knowledgable on the menu. On her recommendation had the Jerusalem artichoke special and a prawn Fraser with a roquette salad to share. Pizzas were beautiful! Perfect crust, delicious toppings. Roquette salad was a little plain but still tasty. Overall a great experience. Great service delicious pizza, will definitely be back!

The Paul Kelly!!! YUM. Its a place everybody must try ! delicious ingredients in the pizza as a Paul Kelly, pasta great, vino superb and djs to warm the winter. oh gosh and pork belly how I can stay at home.
Thanks guys!

Amazing pizzas. We did a great night at Lazerpig sunday night. All the food was delicious; focaccias, antipasti, pickles, and the pizzas, so good! Especially loved the Prawn Fraser and the Paul Kelly -superb. There were some vegos and vegans in our group and they were pretty pleased with their pizzas too.
Great music and cosy fireplace. I'll be back!

Best pizza in town, hands down. Staff were attentive but not over bearing. Epic vibe. Prawn Frazer pizza to die for

I've been to both a boy named sue and LAZERPIG and the pizza and vibes is excellent! Well presented menu and friendly laid back attentive staff. A+

Fantastic!!. Dined here last Friday night with friends, have to say this place ticked all the boxes. Best pizza in town, try the speckled hen.....wow, amazing flavours and beautiful pizza base along with fantastic service and great atmosphere, this place is definitely one of our favourites!

Kaye. Best pizza I have had the speckled hen is a must to try!
Chloe_selleck
Great atmosphere, great tunes, and great food!. The sourdough bases are incredible, and topped with truly quality produce. Would highly recommend the broccoli pizza!

JOYA EXPERIENCE!. 5 of us came on a thursday night for a beer and pizzas. Wanted to sit down in the bar but it was full, so we were seated in the dinning area. We started with some meat off the the charcoal spit, which was spectacula... The smoke from the spit was slightly seeping into the dining area, which i had no problem with due to its delicious aroma and probably influenced our decision to get some. By the time the pizza came out we'd had a couple of jugs and we were ready. We shared 4 pizzas, the broccoli was the best and the salami pizza was also good.

after dinner we stayed in the bar and listened to some skinny dude with glasses play cheesy 70s yacht rock. All in all a great experience - a great place to slam some frosties and an even better place to dine on beautiful, fresh, and well priced considering we were in Collingwood.

NB: a good place to have pre-drinks, good vibe.

Mixed dining experience. I came here skeptical as to whether or not a pizza restaurant dressed up as a bar for local hipsters could be any good. I'd had nasty experiences at similar restaurants in the Smith Street area where the service was ordinary and the food average for what you pay. Lazerpig is one of the better dining experiences I've had in the area, but it wasn't perfect.

The dining area is dark and intimate, which I like, but this may turn away some diners. We ordered two croquettes to start, as there were two of us, but they only brought one to the table, telling us the other was coming. For a bite-sized entree you'd think they'd just wait for the other one to finish frying. It was beyond bizarre having one croquette the size of my thumb just sitting on the table. How silly can you be?

We also got the cold meat platter, which was delicious and came with some great bread.

For pizza we got a pepperoni-style pizza, and a pork and fennel pizza. The pepperoni was delicious, with a wonderful base. The pork and fennel pizza, however, was downright awful. The chef had spread far too much garlic paste on the base, making the pizza unbearable to eat. Thankfully we ordered too much food so the one pizza was enough but three-quarters of the pork one went to waste.

We also ordered drinks. I got a pint of beer, which took 15 minutes to come to the table. My girlfriend ordered a cocktail, which took a further 15 minutes. They told us "cocktails take a while". I understand they have a busy bar to service but this was just unacceptable. 30 minutes for a cocktail at a restaurant is not right, I don't care how busy your bar is. Having someone focusing on your diners. On top of that, the cocktail arrived without a straw, which would have been fine had they used crushed ice as was noted on the menu. Instead, they used thick ice blocks, which made drinking it without a straw impossible. We asked for a straw, the waitress said, "Yeah sure", turned around, started talking to someone, and then bloody forgot! It took her 10 minutes to get a straw!

Overall, despite the service issues and the pizza with enough garlic to kill Dracula, the food for the most part was nice. The base makes a pizza and at the very least, Lazerpig's base is very good. Not sure I'd return, though, when the likes of 400 Gradi on Lygon Street are only a 10 minute drive away.

Ordinary. Was looking forward to lazerpig seemed to have a bit of hype about it. Great looking venue but the pizzas and service were crap. $20 plus for a pizza with virtually nothing on it and a long wait on a slow night have to agree with some of the previous comments . Better off going to DOC for the real deal .

Pizzas. Nothing but crust. This is from only two pizzas - almost one whole pizza of nothing! Crust that was also like cardboard by the way. If you can't do gluten free don't put it on your menu.

The pizza was great, thin crusty base cooked to perfection but a huge let down was the service....this mob has no idea about customer service, slow disinterested and they muddled our order.. Had an early dinner so it was not busy at all, so no excuses at all. Lift your game lazerpig and you could really shine!

Great pizza however service is extremely poor.

Love the pizza...baked flathead with vegis was delicious. The service was appalling. All the meals came out at different times. Waited half hr for the bill at that point walked to bar to get attention and waiter was rude and explained that the tills were down. Let your customers know that! Don't let us sit there waiting all night.

While I must admit it's a cool venue. The excitement about the quality pizzas stunned me once my pizzas arrived at the table. If I wanted a burnt pizza with horrific toppings not even spread out properly then I coulda got my cat to cook them. The twist is that my cat is dead and therefore totally inept at any form of cooking, very similar to the chefs at lazer pig. Hopefully the place suffers huge losses forcing a closure very soon. Cheers

Pizza's tasted like fresh manure. The staff were also seemingly smacked out of their minds. Cheers

Awesome mixed grill and pizza. Came here for a quick dinner last night. The mixed grill main size was huge (I barely touched the delicious chips because I was so full, and I'm a big eater) and great value for only $25. Good selection of beers on tap and my girlfriend had some pretty great cocktails (Sailor Jerry's, apple and cinnamon). The pizza was also very nice, and service was quick and friendly. Cool building and dorky pizza parlour table cloths. Will be back to try and finish the mixed grill again.

Pumping pizza parlour, we a group of 10 were served promptly and pizzas which were nothing short of scrumptious arrived in 30 mins. The service not over the top, but there when you need them. A institution in the making.

Really cool vibe - great pizza. Is a total mash together of different themes but it absolutely works. staff are friendly and helpful, wine and food were delicious and the music from the DJ made the night. we sat by the fire with the disco balls and strobes in full force. will definitely be back!

It sounded cool. Pizza - which, as everyone knows, can be amazing when done properly - in a favourite old haunt of mine in Collingwood, just one block down from Smith St, with fluoro lights and even a disco ball, to boot. But there were a few things about Lazerpig Pizza Parlour that just didn't sit right with me.

The margherita is dangerously delicious and addictive.

Opened by the team that runs the Grace Darling, Lazerpig ticks all of the expected stereotypes that one would expect to find in Collingwood in 2014. Don’t let this dissuade you though. Service can get slow when it’s busy, however the staff are friendly and, more importantly, the food is pretty good.
