Review Terror Twilight - Collingwood

Karen Tran (Coraline Caroline)
First of all I really love the name for this place. Such a lovely atmosphere. Music is on point, lovely attentive staff. The food was pretty awesome. Presented beautifully and very delicious. I had the zucchini fritters with a side Terror Twilights pickles which taste amazing. My sis had the prawn toast and her favourite part was how well made the milk bread it. Overall the quality and taste was very good. Will definitely have to come back and try other food on the menu!

Living in Collingwood dream 🧑🏼‍🍳 Maybe it's because of the eye-catching concept and stop to buy coffee. “Nice people, Great food and coffee” cocktails are also available. We've been drunk since the beginning of the day. 😄 Good vibes and good food The store has put a lot of effort into creating a menu that not only tastes great. But it also makes you feel awesome with many healthy food menus. Customer care is also really good. Highly recommend

all stars goes to the coffee! loved the coffee. Always saw them fully packed and thought it must be too good. Jumped in when it was not too busy on the day. Coffee was good. But really disappointed by the food and juice. The fritter I had was very burnt with white pickle cabbage inside and more pickles red cabbage with sour cream/yoghurt under fritters. It tasted so much off the balance, only bitter sour! I only could eat poached eggs and one bite of the fritters. It was really nothing like the other reviews. Not sure what was going on that day. The green juice I had was 80% ice (from the bottom of the glass to the top of the glass like the photo) with a little juice sliding in the crack of the ice. Really hoping they kept the quality like what they had been rated

Probably the best coffee I've had in a while! The prawn toast I had was good too but perhaps a tad pricey (what meal in Melbourne isn't these days?). I know people visit for the tunes but I personally would've liked the music to have been a little less loud. Service was friendly and efficient. Might need to start getting more takeaway coffees from here!

The BEST… I mean THE BEST food, the best service, the best vibe in a cafe/ bar ever. I could not recommend this place more. The staff are amazing, the food is spot on and the music is next level. I highly recommend this place.

Meticulous to a fault. The staff are super friendly and run the show with methodical precision. The coffee's the best I've had in a while too, which is saying a lot. I've yet to try the nootropic brew, but they do offer lion's mane, chaga and cordyceps blends.

Coffee here is world class also for brunch I had the egg Kurosawa, flavours are absolutely delicious and eggs were so creamy and fluffy, be sure to add the trout on as well!

I’ve been to Terror Twilight twice now and I have to say both times I’ve been very impressed. The coffees have always been very delicious, the food (especially the green chilli egg special) was plated really nicely and tasted fantastic and the service is chill and easy going but still fast pace which I love. I would certainly recommend coming to Terror Twilight if you’re around the north and need somewhere to grab a bite that isn’t going to break the bank, but also has really delicious food and coffee! 5/5

Now Terror Twilight is a pretty unusual name for this cafe, as it will fill you with delight, not Terror, and it’s probably best to visit at the crack of dawn, to enjoy their great coffee – provided by Brunswick’s Wide Open Road, and sample their gorgeous breakfast menu. We visited on one of their quieter days, and although it was almost empty when we arrived, about half the tables quickly filled up with patrons visiting for a mix of coffees and pastries (Also made by Wide Open Road), or breakfast. It’s a simple, clean fit out and works well for laid back brunches or a calm environment for a business meeting. There are a range of tables, including two well suited for larger groups. The menu comes in roughly two parts- there’s your more traditional breakfast options – free range eggs, avocado, pikelets, porridge, fritters etc. and then there’s Bowls or Broths, which are definitely going to become Terror Twilight’s trademark. There’s a lot to love about them – they’re healthy, full of flavour, fresh and totally on trend. Choosing them comes in 4 parts. Firstly, decided if you want a bowl or a broth, then choose base, add your sides, and a protein. I opted for haloumi, sweet potato, and tumeric + cumin tossed cauliflower in my bowl, with a base of broccoli and winter greens and chicken for my protein. My other half went for a chicken broth, with buckwheat noodles, a soft boiled egg and fresh bokchoy, enoki mushrooms, beanshoots and thai basil, adding salmon for his protein. I want to say the best thing about them is that they are so healthy, but it’s not. It’s either that they are so delicious, or that you get to build your own dish, so they are really versatile, or that they cater really well for dietary requirements - so you can please everyone! We also got to try the pikelets, which came with grilled plums, cherry and cardamom syrup, coconut yoghurt and hazelnut brittle. These were also vegan and were amazing, they were light and airy and really tasty. They were so easy to eat, I could have devoured about 100 of them. I enjoyed the syrup and the brittle, but I think a smaller fruit like blueberries or strawberries would have completed the delicate pancakes better. A quick final word on the coffee. My other half tried the batch which is a strong, but enjoyable brew – will really wake you up. You can customise this by adding extra shots too. We liked the healthy conscious, clean eats undertone of Terror Twilight. It’s not in your face about it, but most of the menu is healthy, fresh food. It tastes great and really sets you up well for the day. It’s a got a good all day, versatile menu, with plenty of options to keep you coming back.

Broth wasn't seasoned, tofu was chewy and dry, lacked oomph. Coffee wasn't as good as the Sister cafe in Brunswick which I was shattered about.. Nice interior - great waiter woman. I'll be going back though it's a nice spot:) maybe the chef was a bit tired to taste seasoning .. get some rest cheffy

Great food, fun space and with Kieran fronting a great team (especially Ryan) the service is on point. Healthy eating made cool.

If I had one word and one word only to describe this place it would be okay. The food was okay, the service was okay and the coffee was okay. Nothing special nothing great nothing delicious.

Great coffee, Just as good as sister spot, cool and funny staff, and great food,

Terror Twilight is such a good place. So it was time to head back.

Today I got 2 bowls and 2 juices.

My first bowl was brown rice, mushrooms, bhuja, saukerkruat, poached chicken, and miso mayo. This bowl was bursting with flavour, and so fresh.

Everything was well cooked and the poached chicken was still firm and moist. This dish was perfect.

My partners bowl of cauliflower and kale, kimchi, mushrooms, sweet potato, cooked salmon and miso mayo.

This dish was another winner, fresh, well balanced and soo tasty.

As for the drinks, the fresh orange juice was good. And my purple juice called a 'Sure Shot' was carrot, beetroot, apple, celery, ginger and lemon. This was a really tasty and refreshing.

Overall this place is amazing, and the food fresh and tasty. This place is definitely worth a visit. Yum!

Last review - January 2019
My partner recommended this place so we went for brunch. The service was excellent! There were some very friendly and attentive staff.

I had a strong skinny latte which was delicious. Being a Sunday I decided it was a good time for a Bloody Mary and this was spicy and really tasty lol

For lunch I had a large bowl of poached eggs; crisply bacon, Kimchi, avocado and other goodies. The dish was called breakfast w Eri and this was perfectly balanced and oh so tasty! Yummo

We both enjoyed our meals and our coffees and it was a great place to visit. I’d happily go back again.
Tables were well set up to the covid rules. The waitstaff were super friendly and accommodating to my vegetarian needs. The personalised broth bowls were amazing. I had all 4 - mushroom, bamboo shoots, rice and cabbage with Szechuan tofu was divine! Smooth and subtle oat chai.

Terror Twilight is a cool cafe located along Johnston Street, Collingwood with plenty of healthy options. Diners can opt to order a dish from the all day menu or build their own bowl or broth.

Visiting for a weekend breakfast I opted for the halloumi, green cabbage & zucchini fritters and a coffee.

The fritters would have to be some of the best fritters I’ve ever tried. Served with poached eggs, salsa verde, Moroccan spiced yoghurt, sumac, toasted seeds & house made sweet potato chips, it made for a very filling dish. The generously portioned fritters were nice and crispy on the outside and packed full of the flavour. The other components on the plate beautifully complimented the fritters and added great texture to the dish. I especially loved the sweet potato crisps and the Moroccan spiced yoghurt.

I was highly impressed with the food at Terror Twilight and enjoyed my coffee. Overall I rate it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5 and I recommend that you check them out if you’re in the area.

Came in with high expectations which unfortunately were not met. When we arrived (3 customers) we were squeezed onto a table of 2, even tho there were 2 customers sitting alone in a big booth.
Food was insanely expensive ($3 to add an egg!) and on top a surcharge on weekends. $90 for breakfast for 3 people and I didn’t even order a drink. The fried chicken was amazing though I could’ve had a bucket of it and been happy. My friend and I got the broth bowls which sadly were not very nice, the chicken broth was really overpowering (might’ve been given the mushroom one by mistake?). Either way, was very disappointed and not worth the money at all

Nice restaurant for lovely friends’ catch up. Food was so great.

An absolutely amazing acai bowl!

I ordered the Acai Bowl for takeaway and it was so wonderful! The texture of the acai was magical, it was like a sorbet and not a watery mess which is what I really love from an acai bowl! They were also really kind to be attentive and let me separate the coconut yoghurt as well as take away the kiwis due to my allergies! The peanut butter was put for beauty but also put in special places as a little pleasant surprise! The dried oranges as well as mangoes were a lovely fruity touch along with the strawberries and blueberries and the granola was wonderful!

I am definitely going to return for their acai bowl because it has got to be one of my very absolute favourites and I am in LOVE with it!!

Always consistent coffee and friendly staff.
Will happily travel for their long blacks.
Had food a few times but most recent time was kind of average. Hopefully just an off day.

I love the fit out of this place. It has great atmosphere and natural lighting. I had the chilli scrambled eggs which had a bit of a sweet taste to it and the chilli component was chilli oil. I prefer real chilli and no sweetness but that's because I'm a chilli addict and I'm not a fan of sweetness in my savoury foods. I appreciate the overall flavours though, which combined well. The girls had the DIY bowls which they enjoyed and they said it was super filling. Fabulous customer service. I would come back to try the other meals on the menu. Great coffee.

I love that you can literally just choose all of the ingredients you want and make it completely tailored to you! I had a brown rice bowl with mushrooms, greens and sauerkraut with egg and chilli sauce - it was very tasty! Worth a visit when you just want what you want!

Stunning modern cafe with gorgeous minimalist interiors and lovely staff.

The cafe is known for the aesthetic yet delicious food. My personally fav is the flavoursome
Açai topped with my favourite peanut butter and some coconut yogurt.

Their coffee are amazing, tried oat milk fortune first time there and loved it! Only thing is I found my almond latte separated as soon as it got to our table which was a bit disappointed but other than that food was delicious!

Truly the BEST brunch in Melbourne. Good, fresh food served with their customisable bowls to suit just anyone's taste palettes. Good coffees too, with the option to add their mushroom blends to your coffee for a good old health kick. Not forgetting, their BEAUTIFUL interior.

I can’t believe I hadn’t tried this cute Collingwood cafe previously. From the minute I walked in, it radiated warmth with its retro booths and eclectic decor.

All three of us decided to make our own bowls. Which I think is a great unique feature of this cafe, as it is accomodating for any dietary requirements.

I, personally, went for a broccoli and cauliflower rice base with roasted sweet potato, greens, mushrooms, poached egg and a lemonette dressing. The presentation was immediately eye catching and only made my taste buds salivate more. It didn’t disappoint. You know a meal is good when the conversation stops due to everyone demolishing their meals

No complaints here, top service, top food and cozy vibes.

Will be coming back to try the build your own broth in the chilly winter months.
Ali T
Terror twilight delivers good vibes and good food. What more could you want?! The vibes come thanks to funky tunes on the cafe’s record player, with the records are displayed artistically on the wall.

If you come on a weekend, expect to wait around for a short while. But trust me, it’ll be worth it.

I tried the classic halloumi, cabbage & zucchini fritters which came with poached eggs, salsa verde, Moroccan spiced yoghurt, sumac, toasted seeds & house made sweet potato crisps. SO DELICIOUS!! There’s a reason why this dish has remained on the menu since it opened. The flavours and crispy textures of the fritters and sweet potato crisps contrasted perfectly with the soft poached eggs and creamy yoghurt. It was a dish that was difficult to fault.

Food: 4.5/5
Environment: 3.5/5
Service: 3.5/5

Great service, healthy and delicious food. Comfortable environment. It takes a little bit long time to wait for the food, but worth it. Will come again~

🍓 acai bowl
🏚: Terror Twilight
📍: Collingwood, Melbourne
💵: $19.5AUD (385฿)

————————————————————

📝: The food at Terror Twilight doesn’t only taste great, but will make you feel awesome. Healthy bowls and broths, gluten free and vegan options to keep things fresh both figuratively and literally. But when it’s time to let your hair down and treat yourself to a little indulgence, don’t worry, they’ve got you covered too.

❤️: Acai Bowl with coyo, house made granola, generous pond of peanut butter, topped with seasonal fruits. Could it be any better! I just cannot get over the thick texture of acai that goes so well with that peanut butter. When I’m looking for a healthy, but decadent meal, Terror Twilight is where I head to.
————————————————————
.
.
.

Friendly staff, great coffee and the best acai in town. So thick and creamy with super delicious granola and smothered with peanut butter. So damn good. I also love their savoury build your own-bowls and make sure to get the teriyaki tofu as it is absolutely incredible. Love the atmosphere and the space is beautifully decorated.

The cafe is spacious, great vibe, welcoming staff and very attentive waiter who I believe looked like the manager or owner. Great service! I’ve been here a few times now, and each time was a great experience.

The food- delicious make your own bowls. So healthy yet still so yum! Love the food and the smoothies. However, the bowls are quite pricey, but I guess that’s the price you pay for healthy quality food that’s filled with a variety of different fillings!

In Collingwood, very nice coffee. Cozy atmosphere, kinda rush so just grab a coffee to take away. The cappuccino has got really nice mixture texture between espresso and milk.
AH
I’ve been here twice now - the first time being exceptional, and the second time being just okay. On the second occasion, I ordered a sobs noodle soup and there was so little food that I was left hungry after ordering a $20 meal. However, the corn fritters I’ve had here were delicious. So I think it really depends on what you order at Terror Twilight. Unfortunately, inconsistency between my experiences here refers me from returning, given the number of great options we have in Collingwood.

Can't decide where to go for a grind. So I strolled around Johnson street in Collingwood. I saw this nice and corner coffee shop, so I did look on the menu and found this lovely chow with a good combination of Chai spiced latte, w/c remind me of some1. Anyways I was really happy leaving the place with satisfaction and a promise to return for more.

I was not expecting this! I thought terror twilight was just a place you pick up bowls and it would be small with little seating but no I was so wrong! This place was packed, it is obviously a good brunch spot!

On arrival I was seated given water and offered a drink. Full marks for customer service.

I did a make your own bowl. I LOVE health bowls with fresh ingredients. The choices for the bowls were not boring at all. Chinese pickled cucumbers were a favourite of mine. It was super simple but super yummy. They were busy but my bowl did take about 40-45 minutes to come which is a little longer than I would like to wait as it was a kinda simple out together bowl. Which was the only downfall.

I also forgot to pay, I was sitting outside with a friend and just left. I updated my Instagram to tell everyone how awesome it was and knew I was forgetting something. I then realised I hadn’t payed. I immediately called terror twilight to tell them I was coming back to pay. I felt so bad! They were super ace about it though, the guy re assured me that it happens but some people don’t even go back! Which shocked me.

It was a lovely meal with great service. I will be back for my bowls!

9/10

When have both a menu with so many options and you can even build your own bowls filled with so many vegetarian and vegan options - you know you’re looking at the beautiful twilight. And once I acai (I saw) the spread coming, I kept drooling and drooling off how amazing every single meal was once I started to dig in.

Yes, that is how I would describe my experience in a nutshell (well, kind of 😂) but the truth is that there are only quite I few cafes that have significantly impressed me up to this day and I have to say that this Terrific Terror was one of them 👏

Why? Well, not only Kieran John (the manager) provided such good costumer service and was so humble and warm, but this place is such a beautiful cute busy space with red booth comfortable seats, great musical vibes and an inspiring and motivatinal atmosphere.

I ordered the:

- Smashed avocado with eggs: a very generous potion of avocado and some delicious seed sprinkles on top, making is so delicious and filling.

- Acai bowl with coyo: I have to say that from the pictures it seemed to be a relatively small portion but it’s really not - very filling and satisfying! Plus the bowl had a delicious granola (100% approved - not too sweet and not too sour - just perfect! With the addition of having cashews, which is quite uncommon!) on the bottom of a bowl (👌) and homemade peanut butter on the bottom that makes you appreciate even more every spoonful - yes, every spoon is a party 🥳 I am not even a huge fan of coyo but the combination was perfect and I loved the coyo in there (which is very rare!)

- Bowl with Ancient Grains, Roasted Sweet Potato, Stir Fried Mushrooms, Heirloom tomatoes & salsa, Herb Tahini dressing, Szechuan fried tofu - literally the best fried mushrooms and fried tofu I have ever eaten 👌 not oily, not greasy and definitely again very filling and nutritious. This is the definition of a true nourish bowl!

- Coconut Brew - definitely something I had never tried before and a very satisfying option for all coconut and coffee lovers! The fact that it has coconut flesh on it makes it have a particularly touch that I haven’t experienced before!

- More Life smoothie: it wasn’t the best smoothie I had but it wasn’t bad either. Green smoothies are tricky and personally I think I would add more fruit to it for extra thickness but the taste was quite pleasant!

Another interesting thing is that they have mushroom and nootropic coffee & chai adds, which I haven’t seen anywhere else!

All I can say it that this place is far from terrifying - this place is terrific and I would definitely line up at the crack of dawn to go back again.
Nailed It! Great Food and Coffee isn’t in short supply in Melbs. So there’s quite a great variety and good competition to satisfy the customer. Terror Twilight does this in spades! I only ate here once and devoured...Nay...Inhailed a Ham + Gruyere Toastie accompanied with that delicious nectar that is a life giving cup of coffee. Need I say more...Go! You’ll not be disappointed. Unless you are...in which case dislike this and write a scathing review.

The decor is lovely, sunny and relaxed atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and service was quick. Coffee was good. I had the zucchini fritters. It was delicious and looked so pretty on the plate. Everything on the menu sounds great

Our food took an hour and a half to arrive. We saw other people arrive and leave, and asked and kept being told the food was coming, only to have to wait another half an hour. We were offered coffees to make up for the wait however these also never arrived. When the food did arrive it was not worth the wait at all, the broth was awful and by that point I was so hungry it wasn't satisfying.

On a busy New Year’s Day, we lined up with many late morning ‘brunchers’ to enjoy some of Terror Twilight’s fare. It was well worth the wait. The staff coped extremely well with the overwhelming numbers waiting for seats and takeout coffee. They politely informed us it would be a 1/2hr wait for our order once we were seated which was fine. I ordered the Viking Plate and my husband ordered the haloumi, cabbage and zucchini fritters. Both dishes were amazing! Such flavour and texture combinations. Generous in portions also, but not so much that we couldn’t finish. Coffees were excellent also. This cafe is well worth a visit. Can’t wait to come again....

Got my meal comped... customer service? 5 star. So we randomly wandered by and settled on the place as the idea of the bowls looked good. And it is.

We went in, got a table, got our coffees (and the cold drip was fab). Then waited.. and waited.. while others got their meals... and ate.. and left.. and waited and waited.

I have this thing where if you go to a cafe for breakfast or lunch and you finish coffee 2, then you’ve waited too long.

Anyway, after half an hour we politely asked the waiter how long it’s be. Got told 5 minutes. 10 minutes later, the manager came and offered us a drink, and said he’d look after us. We got a glass of wine and another cold drip.

Shortly thereafter the meals came. We both had the bowls and it’s a really healthy and tasty idea. I had mine - cauliflower rice with halloumi, hummus and heirloom tomatoes with chilli sauce. The hummus was amazing - that little bit of jalapeño made it much much better.

Then we asked for the bill and they comped our meals! So here I am writing on Zomato, saying you should all try them out. I certainly would go back. The only issue is to decide between the very healthy and tasty bowls, or what our neighbours were eating being the very tasty looking (but perhaps not as healthy) cooked all day breakfast!

They also sell coffee beans. Get that too.

Fairly nondescript inner Melbourne cafe. While the ambience and food were good -- my DIY bowl of beef, avo, halloumi, mushrooms and creamed cashew was lovely, and I loved the Jorja Smith playing in the background -- the service was really lacking: slow, inattentive, even got a bit of side-eye from the girl at the cashier. There are plenty of cafes in the area where they've got their shit together a bit more.
Vanessa
**3.5 stars** It sort of feels like you’ve walked into an olden-day movie set when you enter this cafe in Collingwood. From the vinyl displays to the high stools with brown leather seats, the red booths against the white tables at the back and the overall warm wooden furnitures throughout the cafe, there’s a calm yet hip ambience which surely radiates. The food is nice here; the buckwheat waffle was a little too sweet but the waffle itself was fluffy inside and crispy on the outside. The ‘make it yourself’ bowl or broth faired a lot better and I’d recommend choosing this option as the ingredients have wonderful flavours, making it very delicious (and healthy) to eat. The coffee is also nice here. The only thing that lacked for me was the service which was slow and the staff who were unattentive and not very welcoming.
Nicole Humphreys
Oh so delicious and nutritious!

Great vegan options with very generous servings - we always leave feeling full but not guilty as the bowls are super healthy. Recommend the added tofu + nut mix.

Super friendly vibe too and very accommodating with babies!
Eating Away Melbourne
Everyone has been talking about their healthy bowl so I went for a visit as well. Had a soy chai to start with it was hot strong and served with a side of honey which was super nice! Had the bowl with haloumi, sweet potatoes and the greens. Also added the beef which was a good add on I reckon! Felt healthy after the meal! Cozy environment very busy even on a week day!
Hangry Horace
We came here for lunch on a Thursday. I had high expectations due to the high ratings but was a little disappointed. I ordered the smashed avocado dish and added a poached egg. My poached egg was way overcooked and even though they were very generous with the avocado, the dish needed something to cut through the richness of the avocado. Pretty pricey for what you get.
Daniel Wirjoprawiro
Love this - minimalistic and modern contemporary vibes. And, check out the menu! The Nootropic options for coffee ☕️ for that extra boost, healthy and nutritious bowls, all day breakfast - what more
could you want!
Affogato Addiction
Awesome menu, serves Wide Open Road coffee.
Affogato was excellent, $5, espresso blend worked beautifully with the ice cream.
Haloumi zucchini fritters, $18.5, delicious with great accompaniments.
Potato hash, $19, a good choice and really should be on more menus.
Bites Of Melbourne
I really enjoyed my meal. We visited for lunch and I was u sure heading to the venue but was really surprised and would head back and recommend this place.
I created a bowl and was super tasty.
Julia Stehli
Very cosy and warm cafe (properly closing door! 😜) with great coffee. Food was good, but could be improved (fritters were a bit too sticky in texture and the ramen a bit bland). All in all still a pleasant experience.

Had a coffee outside on the terrace with a friend and my dog. Waitress was absolutely lovely and coffee was nice. Would love to come back and try the food.

Ordered:
+ 🍚 of Ancient Grains
+ Turmeric Cauliflowers, thyme roasted mushrooms, tomato salad
+ Poached chicken breast & egg
+ Thai dressing

Food was good in overall. The chicken was a bit dry though. Will return if I happen to go by.

What a gorgeous space! So light and fresh. Great vibe! I shared the cheddar hash with pea purée and the bacon sandwich. The sandwich was good but that hash. I could have eaten 10! Such delicious flavour! Great coffee and lovely staff. A really lovely breakfast with old friends. Add Terror Twilight to your to-do list!
CJ
Good coffee and atomosphere. The breakfast menu seems nothing but ordinary but The waffle was very tasty. The staff was nice and friendly. We will try the bowl and broth.

It was with a great sense of dismay that I learnt Bedford Street, which used to serve fried chicken waffles for breakfast, was being revitalised as Terror Twilight – a café specialising in deconstructed bowls and broths, smoothies named after fitspo aerobic sessions like ‘Body Movin’ and ‘Go Flex’, and ‘upgrades’ in the form of oils that you could add to your coffee to ‘get the most out of your day’ and ‘provide fast and sustaining energy’.
Jasmine
Ordered:
🍚 1. Cauliflower & Broccoli rice (gf)
🍠 2. Roasted sweet potato, thyme roasted mushrooms, seasonal greens
3. Cashew dressing ($15.5)
+ 4. Seared Salmon ($7.0)

Review:
💡Aesthetic place with beautiful lighting and presentation. Especially on a nice day, the photos come out beautifully - especially when you sit next to the gorgeous floor to ceiling open window.
Food was super delicious (because I was given the option to construct the bowl myself) and the cashew dressing was an amazing and memorable choice. Thanks for the recommendation sir!

Absolutely love Terror Twilight! With fresh, light, modern decor, friendly staff and a great menu this is a new favourite! I ordered the kombucha with a bowl of brown rice, kimchi, tomato salad, seasonal greens, spicy yoghurt dressing, haloumi and a poached egg. So healthy and so yum! Would highly recommend a visit!
A Chronicle Of Gastronomy
Terror Twilight is a far cry from its old self. Bedford Street offered hearty meals, with its signature being fried chicken sandwiches and waffles. Taking a complete turn, Terror Twilight dances one opposite site of the spectrum between healthy and sinfully indulgent.
Food Comatose
Far from terrifying - I think the enthusiastic staff would even waltz you to your table if you asked nicely enough. Good vibes and coffee here, with a small menu that has all the right elements for a nutritious, brekkie or light lunch.
Chela
Just like the sign says - great coffee, nice people and good food! Love the bright, light space and the records spinning on the turntable. Love the brekky bowls. The peppermint tea is legit!
Kate Dougherty
Great atmosphere and delicious food. I ordered the waffles with butterscotch sauce, pears, marscapone and pistachio praline. The waffles were so light and fluffy the sauce was fantastic. I also really enjoyed my iced latte. Will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

It was .... ok..... nothing superb.... actually it was abit below ok and minus points for that ridiculous price tag :( a sad brunch
Maybe other stuff on the menu would be good... maybe..
50% Coffee 50% Food
Maybe because of the Melbourne cup, we waited around 40mins before our food arrive. The broth was okay and my hash was abit too salty to my liking. A let down as I go here with high expectations after the cafe won the best cafe award presented by TimeOut.
Clare
We came here just after they received the 2017 choice food award - which they deserve! The staff were cheerful and helpful with a thorough knowledge of the menu. The food was a little slow to come out but we were there at what looked like a busy time and the food came out at the same time (we had very different dishes) they also brought the drinks out quickly. The food options are unique and the smoothie I had was delicious!!
BIRCHER QUEEN 👑
Kieran John (the manager) is fantastic! He is so friendly and accommodating! The service here is humble and warm - the type of place you want to keep coming back to. I had the acai bircher (surprise, surprise) and it was delicious. It came with a homemade orange blossom yoghurt which was to die for. I also had one of their breakfast balls which was almost spicy in flavour and had quite a crunchy texture. My colleagues got some of the 'bowl' dishes which is a great concept if you're wanting to design your own health bowl! Everyone was really happy with their meals.
Yourmelbournefoodguide
Absolutely loved the breakfast here! The staff were very attentive and accommodating. My top pick: the waffle with spiced pears, mascarpone and pistachio praline, which was incredible - would go back for that! Also tried one of the bowls with quinoa, freekeh and the heirloom tomatoes mix topped with seared salmon - this was light, healthy, tasty and super fresh. We also had the "body movin" smoothie which has my fave combo of banana, peanut butter and cacao. Keep up the good work guys - will be back soon!

Great coffee, food and service. Love sitting near the window. The only problem with this place is its name. How about "Bliss" instead of "terror"? Diurnal Bliss? Beggars Banquet? Exile on Johnston Street? Sticky Fingers? Anything but Terror Twilight.

Going to Collingwood always feels like an adventure as being slightly further from home (read, awkward to get to) we don’t go often, so I was delighted when Terror Twilight, one of Collingwood’s newest eateries offered to host us, as it means I get a sneaky half day out in the process. Having only been open 6 weeks, it’s a big change from the previous eatery at this location, swapping Southern fried food for fresh, healthy meals.

A cool concept and calming atmosphere set Terror Twilight up to be hugely popular. The staff were very attentive and friendly, and service efficient (although Thursday lunch is hardly rush hour). There are a few options to choose from the menu, otherwise you can make up your own bowl or broth. In the end though, it ended up being quite expensive to do so for small serves of protein and a bowl that, although tasty, I could have made at home. If you come, I would get the broth, whether as a mug or as part of your meal.

Firstly, let's just say that the service was great! Welcoming, friendly, sophisticated. Secondly, the food was pretty well thought out for a Poke Bowl. The flavours matched and accompanied each other. I liked how you could order a cup of broth on the side. Though for my standards of broths, it is only halfway there. It's still a million times better than Thr1ve's broths though! However, it has still a bit of a way to go for me. I suggest using higher temperatures to prepare a bone broth over at least 3 hours. Slowcooking or pressure cooking might do the job, however the flavours do not combine with the liquid as much. The textures will become fuller as well.
Menu's also a little confusing esp with the step 1,2,3 which was not aligned in an easy to read method.

Terror Twilight is everything I want from an inner city cafe - great food and coffee with a paired back, effortless vibe. The almond latte was great - not sure if the almond milk is house made but it tastes as though it is, with a lovely subtle almond flavour and none of the awful chemically aftertaste that you get with some brands (I'm looking at you Almond Breeze). Food was DELISH. I ordered poached eggs on toast with sides of winter greens and kimchi - not your standard offerings and brilliantly executed. Great balance of flavours, perfect portion size and served with a doorstep piece of delicious toast. Service was friendly but not overly attentive. I'll definitely be back.

Really friendly staff, great idea for a healthy breakfast/brunch/lunch catering for all types of food lovers. Coffee is nice, and love the idea of building your own lunch. Layout is very inviting and well set up. 10/10 will recommend.

rated GAF. gr8 fit out gr8 furniture and gr8 food. Another contender for best breakfast I've had in Melb - a solid 10/10 for the fritters, all the flavours go so well together. would recommend and definitely will be back

Really great place to get a healthy lunch option. The fact that you can choose the components of your bowl or broth keeps it interesting and means that you could continue to go back whilst still keeping it interesting.
On a Tuesday at lunch time, there was plenty of space for my friend and I and the food was nice and quick to come. The service was really friendly yet we were not bothered too much by the staff.
For by bowl I opted for the 3 grain mix with the roasted sweet potato, spiced cauliflower and avocado with added poached chicken. Although the dish appears a bit on the smaller side especially for the price of $19, it is actually a very filling dish.
It is not a dish that makes you feel lethargic after the meal either.

Really enjoyed it here ! Smoothie was out of this world good! I would go back just for the smoothie
Food was also great- didn't order the bowls but breaky was awesome
Where Will We Eat
First weekend open, so we'll forgive the slow pace and long wait for both coffees and food. When it did finally arrive, both MIL and I were very happy. MIL went with the roast chicken sandwich and I with the avocado on rye. Both fresh, tasty and worth coming back for. Looking forward to coming in and trying the bowl & broth options for lunch. Great wide open road coffee as expected 👌

Update: we’ve since visited TT many many more times & it’s definitely one of our fave go-to places for brunch. Their açai bowl is one of the best going round, & their broth bowls are always spot on. 🌟5 stars 🌟
