Walking up and down smith street my new Favourite food street :D!! My cousin loves Asian seeing as its not to much of that in country outback Sweden.
Asains hard cause it's so many place to choose from... we stopped outside Xeom cause the table carts at the front window looked super cool :)!!
Menu looked good but what made me instantly choose this place was that there was a Photo of Heston Marc Blumenthal with the owners :D
"Heston knows Beston"!!
was busy enough for a tuesday night.. know one was sitting at the table carts.. priorities lol!!
Had the high chairs which i love when having a big feed :)
Ordered the soft shell crab rice paper spring rolls first up... all i can say is that the crunchy delicous taste made my night right there and then :)!!
Also had the beef Betal leaf skewers which reminded me of Dolmades and were really good.
They had a shredded duck curry with Roti bread on special which my mouth is watering just thinking about it, was fantastically good but like always with delicous great tasting meals the portion always feels to little lol!!
For mains i got the Wok rice noodle stir fried chicken, Pho meat ball & Chicken on tomato rice. Wanted a good mix of meals, favourite would of been split with the noidle & tomato rice haha we shared & ate the food like we had a time limit to eat it in lol!! P.S. the Pho was great aswell but its great where ever you go, I've never had bad Pho ever touch wood :D!!
We had plenty of Singha's & Tigers through out :)!!
This was definately not just any Vietnamese Restaurant haha:)!!
Follow Heston or any of the other chef Greats they not just good at cooking they good at finding great places to eat :)!!
We had the Duck Curry with Roti and the Beef & Beef Brisket Pho finished off with a Vietnamese Iced Coffee. Absolutely delicious right down to the very last mouthful. Would go back and recommend to others. The staff were friendly and found time to chat. Another bonus was they sell Vietnamese ground coffee ready to filter for an authentic brew in the comfort of your own home (They also sell the drip filter as well).
Food is fresh and tasty!! My partner and I enjoyed a fantastic meal satay skewers were great!! Rice paper rolls were huge but still very delicious, our mains were just as good, all the food reminded us of our recent trip to vietnam.
As we are both chefs we love our food and this place is a must one of the best vietnamese spots in town!!! Will be back for more.
Always a great place to take the kids for an early dinner. They love the duck curry roti, and spring rolls. I love the Pho.
Great vibe, fresh food and busy even on the Royal Wedding night. Very well priced in a funky and entertaining part of the city!
My new weekly beef pho spot, i love it! The fit out is cool, the food is quick and quality, couldnt ask for much more. Classic viet
Friendly staff and the food was really delicious with a very reasonable price!
Vietnamese salad with vermicelli noodles and chicken. Best Vietnamese food I've had outside Vietnam. Friendly service too.
I got some take away from here. The food was good.
Initially the vegetarian fried rice was tasty and a good size.
The vegetarian rice paper rolls were fresh and tasty.
The tofu banh mi was good, the sauce was tasty and the bread roll fresh.
My duck curry entree was absolutely delicious but the roti bread was really ordinary and not too good. It was really greasy.
The rice noodles with pork and spring rolls was a winner, and the pork was delicious.
This place is worth a visit.

Tonight my partner and I dined at Xeom. This is a fun Vietnamese street food restaurant w a great style.
We had 2 entrees starting w some grilled beef betel leaf and sugarcane prawns. The grilled beef was light and tasty and full of flavour, and the sugar cane prawns were minced prawn w a slight sweet taste.
For main course we had some spicy lime rice noodles. OMGosh I could have eaten these all night and I’m definitely having this again. There were rice noodles w prawn and chicken, peanuts, lemon and Vietnamese basil. The flavours just danced on my tongue from the first bite and we tried some home made chilli oil and whammo! This was the best dish of the night.
We tried another dish from Hanoi whichnis wjere the chef came from. This dish had sliced pork belly w a fish stock soup which I could have drank as tea it was sooo tasty, rice noodles, a purple mint and other greens. This salad made this dish refreshing, full of flavour and not heavy at all. Just delicious.
We were lucky to be offered a couple of chicken ribs each as this is one of their most popular dishes. Wow!! They were lightly crumbed in salt, pepper and chilli etc and this dish too was superb.
This was a perfect meal, full of interesting flavours in a casual, comfortable setting. Definitely worth a visit.
Thanks to the owners for an opportunity to visit their restaurant. Yummo lol
Went here for lunch . My friend & I were starving so we ordered a massive feast. Inside is very spacious with lots of seating & the food came out very fast. I even saw that they had a pho challenge which seemed awesome. However there is no way I would be able to finish it.
My friend and I ordered:
- combination fried rice
- Chicken spring rolls
- Chicken and prawn wontons
- Chicken & pork san Choi bao
- Lemongrass pork banh mi
- Lemongrass chicken rice paper roll
- Smoked duck rice paper roll
All the food came out really fast & the service was great too.
My favourite was the chicken spring rolls & the san Choi bao. The spring rolls are probably the best I’ve ever had in my life.
I had never tried the san Choi bao before until today & it delicious.
Everything else was delicious too but these 2 dishes were the main stand out. If you are after a Vietnamese feast I would suggest to go here.

Absolutely love this place! Living in the CBD, Viet food is just not the same as the west however once I tried this place - so excited to have found proper Viet food in this side of town!
came here with a few friends for lunch recently for the first time, and we were pleasantly surprised with how delicious XEOM’s viet food is! the menu is quite extensive and very cheap. we ordered a range of food, including the chicken banh mi, chicken noodle salad, veggie spring rolls, tofu pho, tofu san choy bow & the Vietnamese iced coffee. as first time visitors of this restaurant, we were really impressed with how yummy all the food was! thankyou for a great first experience, we will more definitely be returning 😊

It’s been a while since I came here but so glad I returned. Xeom (pronounces sigh omm which roughly translate to taxi or vehicle) is a fabulous and incredibly creative Vietnamese restaurant in the middle of Smith Street. A little more upmarket than some places) nice large tables as well as high bench/tables at the front or benches at the wall, you can come in and dine quickly or for an hour or two. You can also dine outside or get some takeaway.
I started with the duck curry with roti ($12) followed by the Banh Xeo (Vietnamese pancake) and an iced lemon lychee tea. Lunch specials are also very good for $15. Plus there is a Feed Me Feast for $39 (minimum 2 people) that has plenty for everyone.
They cater for dietaries so just check out the menu or ask. If you have allergies, let the staff know but as the menu days, they can’t make any guarantees that there wouldn’t be any ‘traces’ which is fair enough.
The staff were great. Service fast. The lovely Jessie was the perfect hostess. She told me that the pancake would take 15 minutes which was fine as I had time but its important to ask customers as there are parking restrictions out the front or they may be in a rush. Nice music playing - wouldn’t mind knowing their playlist. Plenty of products for sale such as chilli, sauces, coconut milk and so on. There is wine or beer to buy to complement your meal too.
Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Parking is $4 an hour in Smith Street and you can usually get a place out the front during the less peak periods.
Toilets are funky - a must visit. I will return - again and again! Thank you.
The food is yummy 😋
I have ordered delivery and takeaway
The prawn spring rolls are so tasty
The chicken and veggies stir fry is very nice as well
The staff are great as well - one young man struck up a nice conversation with me
They were aware of my disability and moved chairs for me and I sat and waited for my order
Cash only though which for me can be an issue 🙂
Xeom offers a modern and casual take on traditional Vietnamese street food. Despite their contemporary interpretations, the traditional signature flavours Vietnam has most definitely remained, and has made every dish as enjoyable as the next.
Xeom Vietnamese restaurant in Collingwood. It is a modern design Vietnamese street food restaurant with nice and clean ambience. Normally you won’t see that often like this in restaurants in Footscray and Richmond. Nice ambience with good Vietnamese food served. The combo beef noodle is tasty but the staff forgot to give me the veggie plate. Overall is a good place to dine in and young modern style with traditional Vietnamese street food.
Soon as I walked in I had a great vibe about this funky hip restaurant...and I was not wrong as this was backed up with the great yummy and delicious food.
I was greeted by my waiter and after recommending a few suggestions we were feeling rather hungry 😋😋.
Started off with the betel leaf, followed by the Sugarcane prawn which I have tried plenty of times but this was spot on with the prawn mixture which had a nice texture and was freshly fried and so delish.
For mains we shared the beef lemongrss& springroll with vermicelli noodles which was so refreshing. Along with the customer favourite Xeom’s famous spicy lime rice noodles:- Chicken & prawns. This was amazing and punched a pack of flavour ( and if you are looking for more chilli heat we were also recommended to try the home made chilli paste 🌶).
Followed by a glass of savvy b and traditional three colour drink this was a great meal and I did not leave feeling bloated. Thanks for the invite!

Like other recent and well credentialled reviewers, we really liked Xeom. It’s a very nice place. The cuisine might be called modern Vietnamese We liked the tables. We liked the street influenced decor. We loved the modern music playing. We even admired the mini scooter tyre wash basin. Very clever. We also loved the open kitchen here. So much activity and so many lovely food aromas coming from the area.
Best and most important of all, the food Is really good here and it and the cafe well exceeded our expectations. The prawn harlow dumplings were delicious. Hot, beautiful plump and well cooked with great flavour and a wonderful dipping sauce. The duck curry with roti was specifically recommended to us and it is a lovely dish as well. Excellent rich flavour again with very good roti. The curry is a tad runny though so beware.
The papaya salad with prawn and chicken is a superb salad. Again, it has lovely flavours and textures complete with lots of peanuts and fried shallots. It was absolutely wonderful and was our nominated dish of the night. It was so refreshing that I made sure I finished the meal with a couple of mouthfuls of this excellent salad that I’d held back. Those helped finished the meal perfectly. We both commented that this dish made us feel like we were back on the streets of Hanoi.
Xeom’s famous spicy lime rice noodles with chicken and prawns has lovely lime flavour. It is a large serve as is the salad. The spice is slightly and delicately understated. Cracking dish as well this one.
Service was beautiful throughout. It was for all tables that we observed.
We would heartedly recommend Xeom. It is a terrific option. Our thanks to Xeom for the invitation to dine here.

We were lucky enough to have been invited to try their food. We definitely love the concept of the place. Having lived in Asia for a bit, we know how amazing street food is.
We started our dinner with chicken spring rolls, grilled betel beef skewer, and sugar cane prawns. Really like the the sugar cane prawns, the sugar cane gives the fried prawn a really nice flavour. The betel beef was also really nice as well.
For main, we had the Xeom's spicy lime rice noodle and the bun cha hanoi. The rice noodle is a little spicy, sour and delicious. It is kinda like Pad Thai, with a Vietnamese twist to it. The bun cha hanoi is one of our Viet favourite dishes and Xeom did not disappoint.
We ended the meal with the coconut mochi with ice cream and three colour drink. The mochi and ice scream came in a coconut shell with the meat still on. It was nice to nibble the coconut and finish off with the drink after the meal.
What a great restaurant this is! Such a quirky and cool concept – with the little streetcarts replicating a street food atmosphere. Immediately greeted by friendly staff who explained the menu and told us what the signature dishes were. There were 4 of us so we were lucky to be able to order a fair bit of food – so I got to try lots of bits and pieces! The Duck Curry with roti was one of my favourites – I loved the shredded duck in the curry sauce – and such a nice smaller sized serving (from the starter menu), as its so easy to fill up on curry. The beef betel leaf skewers were amazing too – I could eat so many of those. The salt and pepper eggplant was sensational – crunchy, super flavoursome, and addictive!! The tender beef coleslaw was super refreshing and lovely to put on the crunchy crackers that came with it. The beef pho, rice paper rolls, spicy lime noodles, prawn Hargow and chicken satay skewers were all great too. I will definitely be returning!!
We were fortunate to be invited to Xeom last night, a stellar Asian restaurant in Collingwood. I loved the vibrant interior with colourful posters and bottles of chilli and fish sauce decorating the space. I enjoyed a fresh coconut as we perused the extensive menu.
We kicked off with some yummy prawn dumplings, lemongrass chicken rice paper rolls and chicken peanut skewers. What a fabulous way to start! We continued the trend of deliciousness with the beef betel leaf, and the duck with roti. All excellent entrees.
Main wise we tried the beef coleslaw which was akin to a fresh little zingy salad. I loved the presentation of this too. Next up was the salt and pepper eggplant which came highly recommended. This was dish of the day for me and I couldn’t stop eating it. The spice coating was highly addictive and the texture was also bang on.
Mongolian beef and spicy prawn noodles were next. These were exceptional too, really full of flavour. I loved the sweetness of the Mongolian and I really couldn’t fault any of the dishes. I thoroughly enjoyed everything we had and wouldn’t hesitate to return for round 2
A group of us called into Xeom tonight to sample some of the great Street food on offer in this cute
Little venue. Xeom has been open for over 4 years although the internals are still fresh and fun. The building has been stripped back to its basic elements and wall decorated with bottles, chilli and posters. A busy open kitchen at one end and when we arrived the place was busy with Uber Eats orders coming through thick and fast.
Food wise the menu is reasonably lengthy and all the classics are there in an unadultered state along with some fun twist and Xeom specialties.
Tonight we tried roti with a duck curry sauce, the steamed prawn hargow dumplings, chicken satay skewers, grilled beef betel leaf skewers and beef rice paper rolls.
I loved the roti with the duck curry which was flavour packed with shredded duck meat. My other favourite was the prawn dumplings which were served steaming hot with a great sauce on the side, and how could I go without trying beef betel leaf skewers which was delicious, but not so photogenic dish, that I could have eaten all to myself.
The mains were equally as exciting and included salt and pepper eggplant (eggplant continues to excite me atm), a fragrant beef salad with big hits of lemongrass. The beef salad came encircled with prawn crackers, perfect for scooping up the salad contents.
We tried the spicy lime rice noodle with chicken and prawn. There were a few in the group that were scared of chilli so we went for super mild and had fresh chilli on the side which helped give me the chilli kick I was after (in fact my eyes were watering from the final result).
The sizzling mongolian beef dish was just that but in no half hearted style... it sizzled away for an age and was another of my favourites.
At this stage we were all full but still had a pho to come. This was delicious with a well balanced mild broth. They had a range of pho including a combo version that had beef done five ways but we opted for classic beef which came out nice and rare.
An excellent range of dishes and I enjoyed everything I tried. Thanks so much for inviting us in.

What a wonderful discovery this place is! I spend quite a bit of time on Smith St but generally it’s exploring the bars - but this casual and welcoming Vietnamese restaurant is definitely worth a visit. I suspect it is an absolute favourite amongst the locals.
The sizzling Mongolian beef was a highlight with a sweetness and richness that made me keep wanting more.
The Salt & Pepper eggplant was so addictive, crispy on the outside and full of flavour. I could have eaten this all night!
The prawn Hargow were perfection, light and fresh and tasty.
The chicken satay were two big juicy chicken skewers with peanut sauce and fresh peanuts on top.
Another highlight and I would say a must order is the Duck Curry with roti. Rich and with a depth of flavour that will put a smile on your face.
Great service too!
I highly recommend.
Thanks for having us!
With its funky vibe, Xeom serves up incredible Vietnamese street food at incredibly decent prices too! They are known for their “pho king” challenge- a ginormous pho including 800grams of meat and a kilo of noodles- And if you finish it in less than 30 mins you don’t pay AND get $50. Aside from this, their menu is extremely extensively and really does have something for everyone! Our top pics include the salt and pepper tofu and eggplant, spicy like noodles and the chicken San Choi bao. Though there wasn’t a dish we tried that we didn’t love! Save room for their mochi dessert and their coconut smoothie is fantastic too!
Nice little place for a quick bite of soft shell crab rice paper rolls and tender chicken pho . Wouldn’t complain about anything there, flavours were fresh, serves big and prices right. Great for a low fuss meal.
The food at this restaurant is fantastic! Very fresh and delicious. The staff are happy to make amendments to the menu. Reasonably priced for what you get. Can’t wait to return! Cash only.
A solid and dependable destination for quality pho and lemongrass chicken. Generous servings (for me), tantalising soup and prompt service, what more can you ask for? As a collingwood local, I find myself coming back time and time again. This place is always lively (and is absolutely buzzing on weekends) and is a hit for locals — I’m not certain how this place has the rating it currently has on Zomato (less than 3.5) but I definitely feel that it is far from justified.
The food here is really great, but the service was not. It took ages to get seated and have our orders taken, so don’t go here if you are in a hurry. However, the food was very tasty and authentic!
Love this place. We haven’t eaten in but we order ubereats or Deliveroo almost every week. Food is tasty and fresh!! Yum. I order the slaw and my husband orders the noodle bowls. It’s our go to place.
Absolutely delicious Vietnamese food! So fresh, filling and easy to share with friends so you get a little bit of everything. We ordered rice paper rolls, satay chicken, duck curry with roti, Chinese broccoli and chicken dish along with a cider and glass of wine. Amazing vibes. Staff were great. Food came out very quickly. Would recommend!
Another spot that was selected as it was on the Ubereats app! (Uber eats fridays are a big thing at my workplace).
We all went for vermicelli noodle salads - grilled chicken, pork and beef lemongrass.
I loved that each salad already came with spring rolls! #win
Will order again.
can't comment too much on their ambience or in-store service.
Have come here many times, the food is always amazing. Love the Bahn Mis and Rice paper rolls particularly. Service can sometimes be slow, depending which staff are on, but the food always makes up for that! Highly recommend!
Ordered some takeaway from Xeom and it was pretty good for the price. I got the crispy chicken on tomato fried rice and while it was alright, I just wished the tomato flavour was more punchier. The pork chop that came with a few sides was also pretty good although again, the pork could be a little more flavoursome - the sauce they gave helped with that though. The lemongrass chicken roll was okay too. Interesting that it came with a hoisin-like sauce.
The food is fresh and flavoursome. Our favourite is the spicy chicken ribs. Interior fit-out is cool and functional! Service is ok and probably the only thing that I could fault.
Been here a few times, the vermicelli noodle/salad is delicious, staff take out the stuff i dislike which is nice but last time i ordered the Pork i got the chicken instead, i still ate it, cos i knew it would be delicious. Maybe next time i come the staff will be a little more attentive 😉
Favourite place, the atmosphere is really good and the staff are lovely. Highly recommend the coconut curry! I use the app Liven to get 25% cashback at Xeom, which makes the place even more affordable.
Authentic find, glad we came here. We had their soft shell crab vermicelli bun and crab Vietnamese coleslaw and they were moorishly good, soft shell crab was perfectly crunchy in both. Their coconut mochi dessert was presented beautifully in an open coconut. It was deliciously chewy and I couldn't get enough. Amazing value for money with the loveliest of waiters.
Walked in because Peko Peko was shut, man what a score. The bun with Soft shell crab was 😳 freaking amazing. Their coconut desert thingy was fresh and great for a hot day. I am so coming back to check out the rest of the menu.
Thanks Xeom, I really enjoyed the meal. Beef pho, coconut dessert and Vietnamese coffee were great. Great addition to Smith St, Collingwood!
Awesome vibe and decor! Had the Beef and Spring Roll Vermicelli Noodles - recommend! This place has been busy both times we have visted. Expect for dishes to come out at different times though. Staff are a bit slow and forgot our drinks both times we went. Despite this, the food definitely makes up for it!

Doing a wander down Smith Street we were very pleased to come across this Vietnamese Street Food restaurant, our choice for a quick lunch. Really friendly staff who presented the food with a huge smile. The flavours, as you would expect from Vietnamese cuisine, were really tasty and fresh. The fit-out resembles a take on a street food setting and there is a nice vibe to the place.
I saw a photo of Heston Blumenthal eating here so I decided to try. I ordered the Pho Tom Yam which I think was pretty good. Husband had the pho and he said it was okay. The spring rolls was great tho. I also had the crispy chicken and rice the other time and it was good too considering the price here is pretty cheap compared to the other restaurants in the area.
We come to Xeon at least once a fortnight and love the spiced chicken ribs, the pho and vermicelli dishes.
Staff are friendly and food is always served quickly ! This is our local Vietnamese.
The chicken coleslaw is also excellent !
Food is really fresh. and staff lovely. Rice Paper rolls very good. very good value for money with most dishes $15 or below. Surprisingly it has a fantastic wine list if dining in. Only downside is cash only.
Didn't expect much from this place but was pleasantly surprised, coming from a Vietnamese person! The food here is rather decent, though slightly westernised compared to the usual Vietnamese food I'm used to, but still good nonetheless. I shared some Rice Paper Rolls, Grilled Pork Skewers (Nem Noung), Vermicelli Noodles and Crispy Chicken on Tomato Fried Rice, they didn't disappoint!
We were welcomed by a very friendly waiter. In recent times I have found it difficult to find flavoursome Pho, this beef pho did not disappoint. The broth was tasty and the beef was perfectly tender. The soft shell crab rice paper rolls were ok, a bit oily for my liking but not bad. I would come back for the delicious Pho and friendly staff.

Great service, and love the decor!
The prices are decent too, and food was not too disappointing - we were pretty hungry so we wouldn't complain.
I had shaking beef, I liked it, but I've had others that were more fragrant.
Xeom is great! I eat there about 3/4 times a week...I cannot get enough of the pho! It's cheaply priced too & the service is always lovely...Tommy in particular! I'm obsessed.
Came here for a late dinner on Saturday with a large group. We were all very hungry and ordered a variety of dishes to share including, spring rolls, rice paper rolls, meat skewers, san choy bao, salt and pepper calamari, crispy chicken, curry chicken and a couple of wok dishes plus rice. There was so much food and it was all delicious. The perfectly cooked calamari and curry chicken were highlights for me, a rich tasty curry with tender chicken. Rice paper rolls and san choy bao were lovely and fresh and great way to start the meal. Staff were friendly and attentive and the restaurant has a great vibe to it being in the heart of Collingwood. Best of all it came to about $30 each with a drink. Would definetly come here again.
Had dinner here with four people, after walking pas it a few times (because we love the neighbour Pabu so much). Service was friendly, food was pretty good and fairly cheap ($30 pp).
Yummy food at decent prices! We were looking for this burger place we couldn't find and were too lazy to walk a few streets over or re-park the car. Wandered into this place and I'm so glad we did. I just really like the simple flavors of a great pho. Should be 'simple' but the broth often made too quick for the masses with no depth of flavor. The shared skewers were also rather nice - good enough to get some take out for the Mrs at home!!!
When you want some tasty Vietnamese and you don't want to go to Victoria St, this is the place to go! Fresh tasty food, friendly helpful staff, especially Tommy and a comparatively small menu compared to the tomes of many Vic St restaurants. Will definitely be returning.
BRIGHT, VIBRANT & FRESH
We keep coming back for the great food and the friendly service.
Tommy & the young lady with the lovely smile always make us feel special.
The rice paper rolls & spicy beef noodle soup are my favourites.
This is a fun place for an informal & affordable meal.
-Darryn M
As soon as you walk in, you immediately feel the warm welcome from the staff and can tell they had spent a lot of Time thinking of the concept of the whole bigger picture - from the decor, to the little tiny detail of serving spring rolls in small baskets just like in Vietnam and toilets decored like a tuk tuk tricycle - the food is always plentiful and fresh! Fast service compliments the whole experience! Thanks again and will be back soon!
An impressive little place with the best betal leaf rolls ever! The crispy chicken ribs were fab, guilty pleasure stuff. An all round impressive meal and experience, with an effort to do something new with some familiar staple dishes. A huge thanks to Tommi our waiter for a real welcoming attitude, nice to be served by someone who wants to be there.
My babes and I got to Xeom at 11, as they were just opening up for the day. Being Viet, my babes mentioned how the look and feel of the layout is authentic and "felt like home".
We ordered the Prawn Spring Rolls, Banh Xeo and Diced Pepper Beef with Tomato Rice.
The Spring Rolls, and their accompanying lettuce, were beautifully served in woven baskets connected by a carrying pole! They crunched with every bite which was accentuated by the lettuce.
The Banh Xeo was a large serve and looked as good as most Viet places around Richmond! It was crispy and, in our opinion, the taste would rival the best Banh Xeo we've had in Melbourne (by Thanh Tam on Victoria St, Richmond).
And the Diced Pepper Beef was beautifully marinated and complemented the tomato rice. We've never had this dish before so it was a great surprise!
Overall, we had a great dining experience and would definitely come back with our families!
We had a group of 6 gather for dinner and these guys were very accommodating. We had a few babies with us and it wasn't an issue as they are fairly family friendly. The waiters are very friendly and helpful.
The San choy bao was solid and very tasty.
Rice paper rolls were a hot and made better by the dipping sauce. Spring rolls were standard.
For main we has chicken, squid (great), fish (super), hot plate and fried rice. We were full and very satisfied with the quality of the good.
I'll be back to try the Pho soon.
The Pho had great flavour - much like the better pho places in Footscray or Richmond. The Vietnamese pancake was nice but too floury with not enough filling. Excellent wonton soup and lemongrass chicken/beef. Good, friendly and attentive service. Not as good value as Richmond or Footscray but great for a Collingwood local.
Xeom does a really good pho. Staff are really friendly and food always comes quickly and ingredients are fresh. Great addition to Smith street food options.

Wonderful Viet food in a very funky setting.. Great food. Friendly staff. Good range of beers. Lots to look at. I love the array of bottles and sauces up on the shelves on the walls.
See Wiki - "motorcycle taxis comprise one of the most popular modes of transportation in Vietnam, where they are known as xe ôm."
Definitely drop in here for a great eating experience.
Not as good as Victoria street but still hearty Vietnamese food and great value
Delicious food. I must compliment this restaurant on thei Vietnamese which I found subtle and delicate and tasty with a generous serve of herbs to wrap around it. Hours later and I'm still enjoying the aftertaste. My companion had the Tom Yum Pho which was equally subtle and light and loaded with fresh vegetables. I'm surprised by the low overall rating and think a higher one would be well deserved.
I enjoyed the food but the floor staff are letting this place down.
Probably the best Bun Bo Hue I have had in the inner north - top notch - mos def heading back real soon!. A few negative reviews for this place, but from what I can see they are about long wait times just after they first opened. I ordered and had my food within a couple of minutes of walking in the door - so looks like they ironed out that issue (and common prob I guess for newly opened places that are extremely popular).
I ordered the Bun Bo Hue (or the BBH Spicy Beef/Pork Soup as I think they called it) - $12 which is about 2 bucks more than Victoria St/Footscray/Springvale but serving was very generous and not light on with the meat and other (and of course you're in Collingwood!). Probably the best Bun Bo Hue I have had in the inner north and pretty much on par with Huong Vuong 2 on Victoria St. Looking forward to going back and seeing if their pho is as good. If it is - it's a big winner.
Fresh and tasty. We loved the chicken coleslaw and the Pho is full of flavour. The beef could have been a little more pink (rare), but I can forgive the chefs on this occasion. The waiters/waitresses were very friendly and we were even asked how everything was upon leaving. We'll be back!
Authentic Vietnamese food. This place serves very authentic vietnamese food. It isn't packed with msg so the flavours are more subtle than a lot of other vietnamese restaurants. Food is very similar to street food you can buy in Vietnam. I'll be going back.
Nice venue, great food, quick service.
Thats why we come here 3 times a week.
Love the crispy chicken on tomatoe fried rice and my favourite the BBH noodle soup. Yum!
Very good authentic Vietnamese food. I have eaten here twice in the last few days. It's good, friendly staff and very tasty & affordable food. I had a holiday in Vietnam recently and the food is comparable. Very good, it will become a regular place for me for a cheap tasty meal
The place is nice to have a casual meal on a weekday. The staff is kind and very quick
Tasty. If f Brunswick st is becoming a little dated smith st is moving along. Xeom fits the bill with a modern approach to the standard Viet fare.
food lunch...Beef noodles fresh tasty ell presented. Broken Rice has a good range. i chose the lemongrass chicken ( asked for an egg as none with broken rice here) really nice lots of flavor.. Rice paper rolls also take on a new approach, try the soft shell crab with avocado...Coconut water/juice from the 'fruit' is a nice touch. Service, pretty good helpful, perhaps they seem much busier than they are.. worth a visit
Great food, great atmosphere.. Best dice beef in town!!!! Tried XeÔm for the first time today & glad we drove over 30k to try out this new eatery in Collingwood. Food was great & service was very friendly and attentive. Owner even came out for a chat to see how our food was. Had the spicy beef, lemongrass beef & dice beef was sooooo good. Will definitely be back.
Tasty Lemongrass Chickin. And very good Ban Xeo and Rice Paper Rolls
When mixed through with fish sauce, this was your classic Vietnamese vermicelli salad, albeit with more care taken with the ingredients. The chicken was stand-out – hot and juicy with a hint of lemongrass, but the spring rolls were disappointing in that they weren’t the crunchy rice-paper kind, but the frozen cocktail kind. The overall flavour was a bit less punchy than you’d expect for Vietnamese food, and unfortunately the only herb was a small pinch of wilted mint. Thankfully, the overall impression of the salad was of delicacy, rather than blandness.
The egg noodle wonton soup I had was delicious and so full of flavour. I love avocado shakes and coconut so when she told me they a coconut shake, I was super excited. It was SO GOOD. Really enjoyed my experience here. The bathroom sink is super cool too. I’ll be back if I’m staying in the area in Melbourne again!
I went there for lunch today with a friend and we ordered curry laksa, fried chicken with egg noodles and prawn spring rolls
The food generally tasted a bit too sweet but that’s ok, it is more like Western Vietnam taste.
The portions were a bit small, we both thought that putting in more noodles would make it more fulfilling.
The prawn spring rolls was spot on👍
I wanted to give 4 stars but they deserved a 5 since we ordered a plain roll to dip in the laksa soup and the roll was fresh and hot, it was amazing!!!
We have always been on the look out for great banh mi rolls. We tried XEOM. These rolls were exactly what we'd been looking for. The rolls were so fresh. We went back later the same day and ordered a couple more. Will be returning for dinner in the next couple of weeks. Service was outstanding.
Xeom is a great example of Vietnamese street food. Great extensive menu with all the greats and covers vegetarian, meat and seafood options. Good drinks list. suitable for kids too good clean vibe inside and quick turnaround. Service is ok but could be a little more aware. Worth a visit for se good quality Viet food for sure
Food: delicious! Enjoyed everything that came out.
The chicken pho was perfect, and a generous serving.
The menu is quite big also, with a huge variety.
Service: attentive, and quick! We all had our meals out within 15mins of ordering.
Covid friendly also.
Highly recommend for a good feed on smith street.
