Lots of great breakfast options. Food always really yummy with really friendly service. Never disappoints.
Next time I'll try their baked goodies.
Good coffee. Great old fashioned decor. Tucked out of the way in Collingwood. Worth the trip for a relaxing coffee and chat recommended. Will visit again

We had Mother's Day lunch here today and were very happy with food, coffee and service.
The new owner is friendly and very welcoming. Coffee is amazing and did not hesitate to order second rounds.
We will definitely be back, thanks Erin!!
Nice little reno recently and the food too has taken a big step up. Love this local cafe. Highly recommend this place and you don't need to be a hipster to get in the door.
Been here once so far, staying across the street. Figured I had to give them a shot.
Ordered their French toast with blueberry compote and grilled bananas.
The French toast & blueberries were actually pretty good. The bananas were cold, not sure how that happens if they just came off the flat top. They had a nice chat on them.
The lady at counter was very friendly, we talked about traveling & crazy airline flights. Prices are a bit high compared tobacco home. Breakfast in the states is fairly cheap.
I'll go back & try at least one more breakfast or lunch special.
We stopped by this lovely little cafe for coffee and cake and the decor was really inviting and interesting.
It was a random collection of the 70s and 80s furniture and decor which they modernized it in a way to look more hip.
Coffee was delicious as we both ordered soy latte and was made quiet well and was well balanced.
We both also ordered the museli and lemon slice, they were both very tasteful. Although it was a bit tough to eat through.
Loved the outdoor decor and lucky it was pretty sunny so it was really nice to go out back and relax with coffee and cake.
Well done.
Always loved this place...unsure what I love most but the atmosphere and visual aesthetic is like nothing else. Instead of table numbers on the outside tables, The Knife Shop uses semi-broken Shrek toys on some and an unplugged Iron on another...there's a mannequin thing in one corner and a shredded flag hanging from a tree -> OH, and the chalkboards always make me laugh holy moly I'll attach some photos (I can't tell if they legitimately have typos or grammatical errors or if they are just pure comic geniuses)One chalkboard sign read 'Happy Valentines Day - remember your loved once'.Yes.I feel like the staff do it all on purpose, everything is considered and executed in irony - which is 100% my cup of tea, I love it!But really the food is good and the staff are great - you get tiny teddies with your takeaway coffee too!If ordering takeaway order the B.L.A.T. - it'll be the best damn big sandwich you get.
The place to altered your mood on Monday morning ......
Perfectly located along Wellington St.
Good place to start your Monday morning by altering your mood with some coffee and brekkie menu.
It was a great relief after all the excitement of saying hello at my fellow friendly drivers along the Hoddle St/Alexader Parade exits of the Eastern Carpark, sorry Freeway Mr. Premier Andrew.
I can tell that they are enjoying the smooth tortoise phase, orderly exiting the freeway wanting to get to work and be productive.
Thank God for this Knife Shop cum Cafe, they have all kind of knives not for you to carry when catching up with your Honourable MPs during in the election, but your kitchen, they do sharpen other tools too.
Anyway, an hour after reading newspaper, sipping that Soy Latte while enjoying this perfectly half cut Bacon & Egg Roll has altered my mood. A quick joy in this retro vintage ambiance.
That mirror brings a lot of 70's fun where I'm sure cars were able to travel faster than this morning.
The World Most Livable City lives on .....
I am not sure why it has taken so long to try the breakfast at The Knife Shop but now that we have we will be going back there again. The food was tasty, staff friendly, a menu with plenty of variety and some interesting memorabilia to view.
I was stoked to discover this place as my local.
Decent size meals and a super quirky vibe.
The daily muffins are delicious and there's always a heap of different cakes to choose from.
Really cool decor (especially if you like going back in time with lament tables) and fantastic service. The coffee is great and the other day I had the collingwood muffin and for about $6 it was the best value breakfast I have ever had. Outside on a sunny day is very comfy!
I like The Knife Shop! It's quirky, the coffee is amazing and the foods good, plus I can take my dogs and sit in the courtyard and relax! Reading a lot of negative reviews left me feeling that The Knife Shop are certainly in a different place now so don't let those be your guide! Give it a go, it's a great place!
An awesome place to meet up. I found that The Knife Shop was the perfect place for everyone to meet, the food was amazing, atmosphere fun and the hospitality and customer service was second to none.. I will return on my next Melbourne visit..
Had the legless for lunch absolutely Delish! Daummmm good combo of flavours. Soft Turkish rhy with home made relish lovley and fresh, avocado gooey cheese, crispy bacon, crispy rosty, egg, soft bacon too and the rosty was mass! and the whole thing was huge ! This place should be packed! coffee needs quite a bit if work. Great spot to, it's like a open house it's cool when you find a place off the main strip and down a random suburban residential street.
Yet another culinary coup. Another great Saturday breakfast from Marc and the kitchen crew at The Knife Shop..Had a Magpie Muffin on the run, along with a great coffee from Heather. .

Loves this place. ..the food is good and always served efficiently. ..an eclectic staff and crowd makes for a relaxing atmosphere
Life changing bacon. Haha I haven't noticed the managers antics yet! This is my go to joint when I stumble into the daylight sporting a ripper hangover. Staff are great and friendly who put up with me in my clouded state and bring me caffeine, a decent meal, and a cheeky grin. What's not to love
Wonky little joint with good food and ok coffee. I like it though, for its quirks and complete lack of pretension. It's also close by.
Great coffee. Friendly staff. Sometimes there's a wait but it's well worth it as the breakfasts are just fantastic. Corn bread with poached eggs wow

Don't pass it by - a cut above. It's easy to pass by this little gem in Fitzroy - but give it a go. The atmosphere is unpretentious and the food is terrific. We've eaten here three times now at breakfast, and each time was good. Last time I had the pancakes with mango and it was fresh and very tasty.
And the best part is that it never seems crammed with people trying so desperately to look cool. We all know cool is a state of mind, and isn't as simple as an angled hair-cut, Doc Martins and a sneer.
Unpretentious good value food with friendly staff and a very nice local feel. An everyday breakfast place.
