Review Good Gnocchi - Collingwood

Kazz Crofts
If you really like gnocchi you will likely like this. I have had sensational gnocchi in Italy so I can appreciate good gnocchi…but I’m not a lover of gnocchi. So, if you go to this joint the flavours will be nice but at the end of the day it’s potato rolled into little oblong rolls so it’s still potato rolled into little oblong rolls…. Doesn’t float my boat. Staff pleasant and attentive. Very clean with space. This was the big plus I noticed. Efficient booking system

You'll finish the bowl but you wont be licking the plate. Got the vodka sauce gnocchi as well as the pesto. Sauce was tasty, perhaps a little over seasoned. Gnocchi was doughy but not pillow soft and fluffy, more akin to memory foam. A little dissatisfied with the extra parmesan/ chilli charge, gave off a stingey vibe. Happy with the drinks and service as well as the ambiance. All in all, aptly named - good gnocchi, not great, fair for the price

Growing up with homemade gnocchi from my Nonna I didn't have the highest expectations as previous gnocchi from restaurants had never hit the spot. What I got was amazing. Flavor, presentation and price. Ragu gnocchi was amazing and 5$ for some of the tastiest olives as an entre was incredible. Highly recommend and will be coming back for sure.

Little disappointed from the last time we came, the serves were smaller, the garlic bread we were told was two slices , wasn't crunchy and then we were given 6 slices. Our drinks came after we had finished our meal. Hoping the new management takes these comments and improves on things. The sauces however are still amazing! Was very drafty as well but new heating going in so that should make a difference. Not sure if we will be back though.

The gnocchi was very average (not as soft as good, authentic gnocchi). The Napoli sauce was quite flavourless. Really can’t get on board with charging $2 for Parmesan and $3 for chilli. Staff were great but wouldn’t go again.

more like BAD gnocchi amirite??? this place has literally no right to charge that much for what is essentially potatoes and very average sauce that you could purchase at a supermarket for half the price if I made this at home I would be disappointed with myself wishing there was a rating lower than 1 star (although staff were fine and drinks were decent)

The gnocchi was delicious (I had the mushroom). The ‘jazzy tomatoes’ were a revelation (kind of like a caprese salad). It was only the pounding club music that let it down for me. At times it was hard to have a conversation. The food is so good, if they played nicer/quieter music it’d be my new fav. Still a great experience though!

3.5. Cheap and good portion of gnocchi. We ordered the bolognese and carbonara and they were both good. Garlic bread was a baguette, so a little firmer, but still tasty. Overall, a good meal.

Good gnocchi, more like great fluffy flavorful bundles of joy gnocchi.

This place is so meh so I’m so confused about its high ratings. The garlic bread is absolutely delicious
though.

Perfect little place hidden away mastering gnocchi in its simplest form. Very tasty Bolognese and butter and sage gnocchi flavours and friendly staff

The name is no lie. The gnocchi here is affordable, fast and very good. I got the pesto which is slightly tart (thanks to lemon, maybe?) with a well balanced mix of salt and fat. Definitely get cheese on top. The gnocchi themselves are fluffy and well cooked, not too thick or dense. I also tried my friend's butter sage which was incredible. I may have preferred mine but it's a tough call. Seating is limited/mostly communal, FYI.

You know when you get something stuck in your mind? Well my partner heard about this place or drove past one day I don’t know lol.

But off we went on a cool winters night. And thankfully it was winter because when we walked in it was hot n steamy ... mmmnn it was like a steam room hahaha. The windows were fogged up, and it was so hot inside I could have worn my t-shirt n still been warm.

As the title says, it’s good gnocchi and that’s true. We shared a bolognese sauce gnocchi and a 3 cheese gnocchi w garlic bread.

The garlic bread was good, but a Vietnamese bread roll w a small amount of butter and a mild garlic flavour.

The bolognese sauce was really tasty, but for me personally it was quite tart at first. But it was still very good.

The gnocchi with 3 cheeses was tasty. Like the namesake it was creamy, cheesy but I wanted some seasoning. Just some pepper or some chilli flakes. Not to detract from the dish as it was quite nice, and filling and I didn’t see any seasoning anywhere and nor did I ask.

Overall this is a place worth visiting, and w some outdoor seating, all year round hahaha.

And FYI, they only serve softies so we couldn’t enjoy a glass of wine w dinner.

VeganeatsM Vegetarian Food Lover Aman Saraf

Tasty gnocchi and quick service. Garlic bread was really disappointing unfortunately, it seemed like a really cheap bread roll and wasn’t like garlic bread at all.

If I had a restaurant specialising in one food, and particularly if I self proclaimed this one food to be "good", I'd want to hope it was pretty damn good. And sure, it is good. It really comes down to how much you like gnocchi in the end.

Not really fast food. Expect to wait about half an hour at lunch on a Friday. Very busy. Since opening with just a hole-in-the-wall, the whole shop is now open with limited seating, if you like crowds. The foil containers are very generous, and more than enough for lunch. The gnocchi is apparently sourced from a local fresh pasta supplier, and the gnocchi is sauced with home-made style toppings! The Sage Butter was quite tasty and the Bolognese was rich and meaty. Quite a satisfying lunch of light and fluffy gnocchi when accompanied by some garlic bread. Worth the wait if you're not in a hurry. A great attempt at a specialized single item menu
