We are very spoilt in CLG. We’ve had an excellent Portuguese tart place open at mitcham shops recently - and we have blackbird which opened in January. Took my in laws there tonight for a meal. Took my 2 year and my nephew (3.5 years) - admittedly they didn’t have any high chairs - but the food was sensational. Absolutely sensational. My chicken was amazing. Everyone else had beef brisket which had them licking their fingers at the end. The black rice risotto was so delicious (my favourite dish of the night). Kids had risotto, chips and brown rice. The entire meal tasted so good - and they have a selection of great local wines. Please please please support this local restaurant - it’s bloody amazing.
We went to Black Bird for the first time last night with my parents who were visiting from interstate. It did not disappoint - a hidden gem! the food was sensational - the best meal I’ve had in a long time. I had the beef brisket and black rice risotto, both were absolutely delicious. We will be back!!
Absolutely loved it! Do yourself a favour - visit this place soon. Great atmosphere, really fantastic food. A hidden gem!
Thank you for an absolutely delicious dinner - our 7 year old was a huge fan of the pork belly. The brisket and chicken were also delicious and such generous serves. The wines were lovely too. We can't wait to come back!
Just had the Pork & Chicken Burger take away.... absolutely sensational!!! Have not had burgers like that for a long time (we ordered the two & went halves in each). Luckily we live just around the corner, look forward to trying more on the menu. Might even try to bring the twins down for an early dinner dining in. Thanks guys!!! Takeaway dinner done beautifully
Great local diner - loved the food, loved the place - congratulations Tarun and team. So thrilled to discover this gem!
We went to Black Bird for dinner on its second day open and we had a great experience. Delicious food, attentive service and reasonable prices. A great addition to the local area!
We had a fantastic meal here, I highly recommend it.
Well I never. Hidden away near Barnacle Bills on Goodwood Road, this place is seriously yummy. Along with the excellent Sumac on the other side of the road, this part of Goodwood Road is becoming a great food destination. Go there.
This place is awesome. Food absolutely delicious. Well priced and service excellent.
We will definitely be back.
Food was amazing and the service was brilliant! So welcoming and friendly. We'll be back and highly recommend others to try. Support local business!!
Had takeaway last night for the first time. We ordered the Pork Belly and the Brisket and it was simply Devine! We are so excited to have something like this a few streets away! The service was also fantastic! Thanks guys!
I had initially thought this place was a chicken takeaway, but realising it was a restaurant specialising in charcoal, decided to give it a go. Wow, could it have exceeded our expectations any more. We had the pork belly, beef brisket and sides with the dessert special: sticky date pudding. Everything was absolutely delicious. It's a small place to dine-in with a maybe room for about 20 people, but was cosy and relaxed. The service was fantastic. We had a wonderful experience and will definitely be coming back.
It is exciting that the area has been getting a few more places that’s not your stock standard restaurant.
Prior to this, the unit was occupied by Shaminar (sp) restaurant but do not think it did well, naturally I was sceptical.
BB’s main menu is small but quality, the side menu items are good and wine list is also small but intelligently put together.
I found that the dishes were well presented, delicious, elegant yet simple. Well priced too!!!
A welcomed change of pace.
Recently I found out that one of the earliest blogs in Adelaide (since 2008), Dbites.com has quit the blog world. It is kindda sad for me as she was one of the role model that encouraged me to start stepping into the blog world. The current owner of dbites.com is not Dee and turned the site into a cooking tool review website.
What a pleasant little surprise! We stumbled upon this place randomly and decided to check it out for a quick Friday night dinner. Affordable, versatile menu - tick! Lovely staff - tick! Nice wine selection- tick! Just a good vibe, overall.
The pulled pork burger - oh Yum! Salmon lovely too. Order a side with your dishes. A great new joint!
Wonderful new cafe, specialising in charcoal rotisserie. The menu is small but excellent, with a range of dishes from the rotisserie, some delicious sides as well as a limited burger menu. Children are also catered for with their own small menu options.
We tried the blackened charcoal chicken, salmon and two sides. The chicken was a substantial and beautifully cooked 1/2 bird serving, with lovely charred flavour served on Asian inspired coleslaw. The salmon was excellent, slightly charred but not over cooked with delicious South Indian spicing for flavour. Both the sides were very fresh and tasty.
Decor is modern and fresh, that includes a bar for eating or just popping in for a drink. Takeaway is also available.
Apart from the great food, the service was really friendly. Give this cafe a go. Highly recommended!
