THE CHIPS 🍟
these chips are cooked to absolute perfection and are the right amount of crunch every time! Perfectly cooked and golden ❤️ 10/10
THE CRAB STICK 🦀
the crab stick is flavourful and cooked really well and just taste amazing! Has been a favourite for awhile 8.9/10
THE PRAWNS 🍤
The prawns that we usually get are served perfect cooked with the right amount of batter. Not too thin or too thick and the prawns are pretty generous sized! This is one of my favourite sides and I would highly recommend this! 10/10
THE SHARK 🦈
The shark is a new taste to me but it is something I will be ordering from here for a long long time! The shark is cooked perfectly with the right amount of batter and is full of flavour. This is the best shark I have had cooked like this and is definitely one of the favourites from here. 10/10
THE SQUID 🦑
the squid taste amazing and was not soggy which was important. Had a crunch factor to it so it was good 7.8/10
Overall this place is definitely my number one so far for fish and chips with a variety of different things to get from the menu. I will definitely be coming back here often to take away food!
Without a doubt the best fish and chip shop! It can get busy (because everyone knows how good it is) but 100% worth the wait. Have patience and it will pay off! Highly recommend the grilled fish 👌🏼
I am proud to say that this is my local fish n chip. Batter is thin and consistent on all seafood. They are always prompt getting my order cooked. Brilliant!
The fish (snapper) was very nice, we had both grilled and battered fish. We would have liked for the chips to have been more salted.

We love Johnny's! Its our go to fish and chips. The staff are always wonderful, the customer service is excelent. The food is great too and never oily! They are always accommodating when we request chips packed seperatly to the fish because of my strictly vegetarian grandmother. I would definitely recommend!
A chippy of old, sailing in a sea of sunken wannabe chippies and the recent emergence and scourge of the seas the 'Nouveau Fish and Frites' pretenders (luckily only found the Northern burbs and Cottelsoe). Albeit owned by Chinese, who understand that it’s important to have white faces on the counter in non-Asian establishments. I know not very PC, but it’s true. Anyway quality of fish is always fresh (non-fishy) either fried or grilled (healthier), and the chips are spot on in portion size and flavor. My local chippy these past 20 years.

Cheese and bacon french fries. Burger's best friend is fries, isn't it? It a mandatory to order this since the burger doesn't come with any french fries.
Fantastic FnC cooked to perfection. Just the right amount of salt too! The perfect place to purchase FnC to be enjoyed at South Perth Foreshore. Gluten free fish option great too. We'll be back for sure.

The single serve of fish and chips was great value at $11. The fish was nice and firm with a lovely light batter, chips were perfect and not too oily.

Johnny's has been my local fish and chip shop as long as I've been alive. The quality is always high. One thing I really rate is the fish selection. Spanish Mackerel is always good. Decent Serves. Highly Recommended.

Great fish and chips, seafood in general. Not oily perfectly cooked and didn't take long either. I got the seafood basket and was perfect, came with everything you need and a seafood dressing too! The mussels are yummy and the prawns may of even been Australian, not all shops would do this. I hope they were anyway. Keep it up big John..... oh and a few more combo deals would help. Hard to say but could be the best in Perth..... hard call to make but definitely top 5.
As a local I visit on a rugular basis, not only is the food fantastic, it is also refreshing to have young professonal staff well presented and thoughtful enough to remember you by name and greet you by name upon entry.
Have been getting fish and chips there since 1997, consistently great food. Other favorites are squid rings, pineapple fritters and crab sticks. Fresh fish, not soggy (therefore not frozen), chips crunchy on outside, fluffy inside. Always had pleasant service. $11 for one serve of fish and chips, price been the same for many years. Always busy there, better to call first.
Very good fish and chips! Fish batter not too thick, very light. Tastes really fresh and not over cooked and chewy like so many places. We will def be back.
Consistently good. Big serves of snapper, on the pricey side, but crispy and good quality. Fish is provided in small pizza boxes to keep them in one piece on the drive home.

Great value for money and terrific taste. I have just had my second feed of fish and chips from Johnny's. They were ready on time and when I got them home they were all that I hoped for. Lightly battered, moist and tasty fish and lots of it, combined with yummy crispy chips, more than I could eat. I will be back!
The best of a hard-to-find bunch!. Coming from the UK, we have struggled to find a decent fish n chippy here in Perth, but Johnny's is the best we have found yet! We still find the fish small and pricey, but the batter is light and the chips are plentiful and beautifully cooked. It's clean, bright and welcoming. We have been a couple of times for take away.
Just had some fish n chips for dine in couple nights ago. I have no idea whats with all the negativity. The fish n chips was absolutely delightful. The new box idea keeps it nice n crispy. I definitely recommend to try it.

Yummers. Even though there is fish and chips within reasonable walking distance of my place, Johnny's is easily the best in the South Perth area. I don't know how they manage to make deep-fried fish taste so good.
Had some great grilled snapper and chips. Prices are reasonable, fast friendly service and a very clean shop.
LOVE this place. We sat and played Chinese checkers on the couch while we ate our food.

Nicely cooked. One of the best pieces of fish I had around. The batter was cooked to perfection. Homemade chilli mayo. Friendly shopkeeper. Chips were not too good tho, which is quite a let down. Will just order two pieces of fish instead next time. Yes, will definitely come back for it.
As good as.. and its snappa.. It's been operating outta here for at least 50yrs, and went here because the other local f&c shop was closed. Was glad it did, because this place did not disappoint. Good size portion of fish and great chips. Same good pricing, and much better than the tourist traps in Freo. and btw, I'm comparing this place to Lure's, and i'm saying both are good. Except this place doesn't have a 'family pack' pricing. Still, at $9.50 for quality fish n chips, I'm not complaining, and I'll be going back there.
Fast service. Good quality fish. Fresh and tasty. Chips could be a little less dry and stodgy with a slight crunch on the outside would be a major improvement. The batter was perfect. Pieces of lemon to squeeze juice onto fish would be very handy and the piece de resistance! Good value but unfortunaty, no longer a cheap working-man's meal / everday fayre @ $36 including 2 cans of fizz. The clientele.. ie had sports cars and Range Rovers etc parked up while they waited for their fry up. Sign of the times (and we are in Como / South Perth after all)

The grilled Fish is absolutely amazing. Always get a wedge of lemon. Cooked perfectly. The chips are never oily. Solid 10/10 quality fish and chips.

Really good fish & chips. Good service. Handy that they've got several tables there (both inside & outside) so you have the option of enjoying the chips fresh and crispy.
