Review Morning Glory Cafe - Coogee

Erik Buchholz
Favourite café in Coogee! The staff is super friendly, the coffee is great, as is the food. The protein shakes/smoothies are highly recommendable. And, in my opinion, there are no better muffins in Sydney! If they only had a few more vegan pieces (especially the muffins I would love to share with my partner), we would probably there every weekend.

First time visitor here and whilst we only had a coffee, it was very nice. Tucked away around the corner from the Coogee pavilion, it’s a good place to have a quiet conversation as you watch the people passing by. Next time will try the food also.

A local favourite. The menu has lots of variety. Lovely staff. I have never been disappointed with any of the dishes. My favourites are the French Toast and the Pikelets with Ricotta and Berries. It can get quite busy and it is a small place so, at popular times, there can be a wait. But it is worth it.

Considering the location, this is ok. The pricing is reflects that they serve a light breakfast, and the flavours are clean. The iced long black is a bit sad - a regular coffee mug with a couple ice cubes, served as lukewarm not iced. I probably wouldn't return, if it wasn't for the location and opening hours - if you're dontaing blood early at Coogee, it's this or walk back to the main cafe drag and find something. Overall, OK.

This cafe does not do table service. Which feels kinda odd coz when you walk in, they didn't even say hi or offer us menu. It's kinda felt transactional. It didn't feel warm and welcoming. Maybe To me it only felt weird, coz I'm used to table service in the Eastern Suburbs along the beaches. I ordered the brekkie wrap and it was nice, but it was quite thin and light. Comparing to other brekkie wraps in coogee and bondi cafes, it felt like Morning glory are quite stingy with the amount of ingredients in that wrap. But again, this is my experience and my order, so it could be different for you. I hope this helps.

Service with a smile :). Although they were super busy the staff were very friendly and accommodating, and we got our order quickly. Honest and good quality food, we had the breakfast salad and scrambled eggs with sides. Wholemeal sourdough was really nice, eggs were done to perfection, generous portions and value for money! And did I mention the incredible view?

I always get the indulgence roll with salmon. I haven’t tried anything else but coffee on their menu as once I had the roll, I’m hooked. It’s always very consistent. Like others have said, it can get busy as it’s a small place but it’s great!
