Review Gelatissimo Coogee - Coogee

Kenneth Chow
Could have easily deserved a 5 star review without this weird waitress at the front serving icecream, impatiently challenging me why I’m taking photos. “Who gave you permission to take photos?”, she bluntly interrogated. I said it’s for Google review, to which she responded by saying “I’m not very sure whether you’re allowed to take photos.” Anyway, the sorbet is really nice and the shop is conveniently located near the famous Coogee beach. Even on a rainy winter day like today we could still enjoy a cup of delicious sorbet.

The Gelatissimo store in Coogee is always busy as it’s located right near the beach. They have always got a great selection of flavours on offer and are always experimenting and creating new delicious flavours. They also offer a good selection of dairy free and vegan flavours which taste really good.

Great tasting ice cream, also they have 96% sugar free flavours in chocolate and strawberry. Ask for a kids cone as they are not to expensive and still a nice treat. Friendly staff, nice clean shop that has been renovated last winter. Only downside, it can get very busy here with a long queue on hot days.

The other day I went with my kids to the Coogee store and this delightful girl named Chelsey served us. We had all just come from the beach and were very excited to have some delicious gelato. She let us try some flavours and we weren't in any form of disappointment. All the flavours are fresh and taste absolutely amazing. My kids got the dragon fruit and lychee which is such a refreshing treat to have on an afternoon from the beach. Chelsey's service was beautiful she was so sweet and lovely. Would highly recommend going here and hopefully you get served by this lovely girl.

Good mix of flavours but pretty expensive starting at $6 for a single scoop on a cone and they don't 'scoop' the ice cream scoops they kind of just dig out a blob with a spatula and plop it on the cone so heaps of the ice cream is hanging over the cone and it melts over the cone really fast not good for children who can't eat it very fast. Melted all over the cone too quick (literally within a minute at almost 7pm) and my daughter dropped her ice cream because it got too slippery to hold.

A place that discriminates, even when the government mandates are over. You will find that many vaccinated people will not support places like this, so not only did you loose all unvaccinated ppl, but also many vaccinated ppl. They have stickers on tables saying Reserved only for vaccinated.

always love the abundance of flavours at Gelatissimo, however the most recent time I went i was very disappointed with the service as we were just standing there, and the workers served the two groups of people who came after us. I had the vegan coconut sorbet however, and this was so creamy and delicious.

I had some sort of cookie dough ice cream and it was delicious. Chunky biscuity pieces in cream ice cream. Great serving size and the staff were friendly too.

This ice-cream shop can be seen everywhere in Sydney. I visited the Coogee branch on a hot day when I just finished the coastal walk and felt like having something cold to eat.

There are a few seats available and we had a nice break. The ice-cream, however, does not seem to be as delicious as those popular ice-cream shops in Sydney. It melts fast. Mango sorbet was a little sour. I can't tell what flavour I chose but they did not leave a strong impression on me.

This is a brilliant ice cream shop and everything was great the staff are so helpful and would let us try samples. This was great as they're some pretty suspect flavours in the range but the ice cream is on point. I had a shake here too which was pretty amazing. A great place to stop of in if you're in the area

I’ve visited a few times and the gelato has been quite good but I’ve also tried the coffee which has been alright. The issue with having coffee here is that the seats don’t have back support and so aren’t really ideal for a long visit. However, the interior is nicely set up in a modern and clean style.

Service has been fair. One good point is that the stevia is provided, which I always prefer to sugar or artificial sweetener.
