This place was great a small cafe provide great coffee
Nice staff
This will be the shortest review I write. Gusto Coogee is undoubtedly 5/5.
-Reliably bold coffee
-Bubbly and exotic staff
-Traditional pastries. The croissant ($4) toasted with butter is a must, and usually sells out by mid-morning. The panini ($7) are fresh and delicious.
-Great tunes and excellent vibes
-Walking distance to Coogee Beach
Be warned, it’s hard to find a seat on the weekends. 🤙🏽
This place does the BEST almond latte I've had. The staff are lovely despite always being SO busy and he food is fresh, tasty and reasonable. Love, love, love gusto.
Try the spelt and blackberry scone with your coffee for a guilt free morning snack.
Gusto makes lovely coffee and has some yummy treats. I always opt for Almond or soy flat white and it's delicious every time. If you are a local get a loyalty card and get your 11th coffee for free. I like to get the almond and chia protein ball from there too. Yummy but a bit pricey $5.
Very typical café, not that much special, very good service tho, the girls very friendly and it's a good spot to go and work with a cup of coffee.
Coffee shop on Coogee bay road primarily serving coffee and a couple of breakfast options as well as grab and go snacks like pastries, muffins, bagels and cookies. The mix and match option looked like a good option; different sizes available and you can choose from muesli, bircher, yoghurt, fruit. Today I just got a coffee that I took down to the beach, in was a nice coffee and the place is popular:
Just walk around Coogee and found this nice Espresso Bar. Lots of people enjoying branch and coffee here. They have own coffee beans and home made granola/muesli. I had banana bread and croissant. Those are really delicious! Love the chill anbience and music. Defs come back!!!
Excellent coffee and quite adequate sweet treats.
Best utilized for takeaway, as this cafe is always busy, bordering on crowded.
There are better cafes in the area, but this has the best location and street tables.
Great spot for a take away coffee, steady stream of regulars so a good local coffee spot. Waiters and waitress are always smiling so it's a great atmosphere. Food is a little overpriced so I would just stick to the coffee
I only had coffee and a croissant for brekky but the coffee was excellent and my friend said it was excellent. I must say the service was very good and I was made to feel very welcomed. Nice work.
Came for the acai bowl. Stayed for the acai bowl. Will never leave because of the acai bowl. Get one to take away, should keep you full for a few days!
Always lovely service, and pretty quick considering how busy they always are!
What is Gusto's secret?? read below. What is with all the bad reviews? seriously!! ...I'm not sure they truly reflect Gusto Coogee...
I was a barista for many years in the area, so I know exactly what you eastern suburbanites can be like (yes I'm looking at you people!!) Get your order wrong once or twice and it's all over baby! "where is your caramel latte with skim and 1/2 sugar! It's coming..." (it just holds the cue up!, but will be perfect when it arrives!)
Being a barista in coogee requires the patience of a saint (which is why I'm personally not a barista any more), the main staff running Gusto have it!!
Nothing is perfect in life but if you can; step in the entrance of Gusto, shake off whatever is stressing you, and let the tunes relax you and the enjoy the coffee and perhaps catch up with a friend.... you will understand why the locals love it here!
Not every cafe on this strip allows you to do the above, some feel more like a restaurant, Gusto has the vibe and the coffee that brings people back. If you like your customer service, try giving a tip!
The coffee is consistently very good (yes they have made mistakes over the years and always fixed it...they are human) and the food is also fantastic, the breakfast options such as bircher or granola with a choice of toppings are healthy, or you can opt for a toasted sandwich.
A great spot to take some time out and relax a little!
Had the best long black I've had in a looooong time. Will be back for sure!
Simple. amazing.. Don't get the hating. been in coogee for forever and this is the only place to get coffee (particularly soy coffee, which so many baristas get wrong).
the food is simple and yummy.
the coffee is strong and smooth.
the only drawback being the wait times but they are a sign of the quality of this place.
and the queues have been there forever - if it wasn't good why have the queues stayed for years?
Used to be great. Now don't know.. Nothing to eat you say?! Eat muesli and go for a walk to burn some calories! Haven't been here in over a year. But 2009-2010, were regulars for good coffee and great home made muesli at $6 a bowl.
Very limited menu (basically coffee and cake are all they do), but the coffee is always great.
Just stopped in for a latte. Nice cup of coffee and fast and friendly service. What else do you need on a sunny winter’s morning. It’s the simple things in life !!
Good flat white $4 plus a card surcharge.
Nice coffee and food! The service is amazing! There is a lovely Spanish girl always smiling and so nice! She makes your experience so great! I've recently moved to Coogee and definitely this will be my morning spot after a swim!
Can't wait to be back again 🌺☕🍞
Good coffee. Nice breakfast. Great choice.
I buy coffee here nearly every day. The food is great, the staff are friendly, it's got footpath tables, the music is good. There is a water bowl for dogs and dogs can hang out at the footpath tables. They also take online orders through Hey You so if you want to grab a takeaway on the run you can order before you get there and pick up. All round awesome.
